Full textMaupassant doesn't believe in the harmonious cohesion of the whole. Therefore, in his tales, he tries to describe the explosion of each composed structure, and, first of all, the shattering of the individual identity into a multitude of autonomous fragments. In the tales, the dividing up of the human being applies to the external aspect (the body) as well as to the inner self (thought). Deprived of control over his organism by an obscure force that dominates him, the human being watches, powerless, as his corporal machine races out of control. He can no longer master his movements. Torn between his consciousness that remains clear and his acts that seem no longer to belong to him, the individual observes the mechanization and the reification of his body. The "human thing" is a simple puppet emptied of all its substance, or vulgar goods intended to be sold or bought on the market of a new economic slave system. As for the inner division of the individual, it expresses itself mainly in dual personalities. But the Horla, is not the only illustration of the double. Maupassant uses the unit of the couple to represent this unbearable dichotomy. Faced with the animal bestiality, confronted with feminine otherness, with his likeness to his child, his father or brother, in front of the foreign image reflected in the mirror, the individual, divided into two incompatible egos, questions his identity. The duality of the person leads to an irreversible deprivation of the ego. The only way out lies in death, whether it be exteriorized in a criminal act, interiorized by retreat into madness, actualized by a suicidal act, or represented by images of disappearance. The pessimist vision of the author concerning this fragmented being destined to be destroyed appears in a number of stories. It illustrates the singularity of a world pervaded by the fragments of an inner fantastic unique to Maupassant
Ozil, Stéphane. "Jules Renard : personnalité littéraire et figure d'auteur." Montpellier 3, 2009. http://www.theses.fr/2009MON30010.
Full textThe author remains a complicated notion to be defined, on account of his dependence on both parameters rationally incompatible which are the writer’s biography, and the timeless essence of the work he handed on. Each approach to a work over its global aspect, lets break through however a definite number of specific characteristics covered by the term : literary personality ; which as it is confronted to the individuality of the reader, will generate for him an unpublished author figure. We intend to go deeper into these perspectives within the scope of study of a precise author, Jules Renard, who wrote among others L’Ecornifleur - The Scrounger (1892), Poil de Carotte – Carotty-haired Boy (1894), and the Diary as well (1887-1910). The latter allows to become aware of the uncommon connection Jules Renard keeps with literary art : the Diary is the place where the writer locates himself faced with the man of letters that he is conscious he should be, as if propelled by the duty to examine himself scrupulously in order to be at last up to the destiny he is appointed to, that is author. The method of analysis adopted is modeling on the original phenomenon of literary exodus to define the notion of author figure, based on the postulate that any work understates at the same time a need of self-liberation, a corpus of artistical principles, a literary dedication of these principles, and finally an ultimate target they aim at. The idea of exodus, because it depends on that of motion, will help to avoid the danger of a rigid representation of the author, while he is constantly evolving in the representations the successive readers make of him

Full textThe present study is a reflection on the triangular relationship between a relational impasse, unresolved loss and the psychoanalytic notion of the double. The impasse creates an "all or nothing" situation, the significance of which appears to be the inability to accept the loss, separation and otherness. We assume that denied grief is the reason behind an individual entering an impasse, while the double substitutes this loss even to the point where it becomes illusory. The double refers to everything that pertains to duality in human experience. It mediates the tensions between opposites, both without and within, present and absent. In this context, it refers both to the split and the whole and it is for this the reason that we propose it as a solution (real or illusory) to the deadlock. This is demonstrated by way of five Hebrew literary works

Full textFor the reader of poetry, the effectiveness of his reading largely depends on his own imagination of reading, that is to say, his perception of himself as a reader. This perception - this representation - is in fact a source of energy likely to produce various dynamics in the process of reading. In this respect, it can either inhibit the reader if it is a negative perception, or stimulate him if it reflects a positive image of himself. This representation which is extremely habitual in fact, has frequently lost its power of stimulation because it has been reduced to cliches or commonplaces. But many readers know how to draw a vivid stimulus which revitalizes their reading. The description of this representation (for example, reading as a picking, hunting, travelling), on one hand allows to explore a few fundamental dynamics (dynamics of opening, preying on, travelling over, or initiatory quest) and, on the other hand to emphasize, in its various aspects, the specific creativity of the reader : production of new perceptions of the world, production of order or destruction of fossilized structures, development of instruments, regeneration of vital energy and finally creation of a representation. The process of reading, such as it is experienced by the real reader, is then enlightened in all its dimensions of profound experience, and, for from being limited to a mere intellectual operation, it becomes the way to achieve poetical knowledge

Requiem sets in motion an intimate world where two narrators, one a nude model, the other an ecclesiastical painter, live in seclusion in the village convent, near where both characters were born. Christophe and Frédérique (Sister Hortense), do not have a relationship; their encounter, the product of troubling circumstances, turns their world upside down even as it gives them the opportunity to reflect upon their past. Both struggle with their own demons, like wounds that refuse to heal. However, it is this fragility that unites them and allows Frédérique’s canvas to become flesh and blood. In the silence of the workshop, where masks can finally crumble, the painting patiently takes shape. Consequently, art becomes a reflection of the narrators’ fragility as well as a way to evolve towards a certain serenity. The critical essay portion concerns contemporary artist’s novel, which is a subject that allows for a prolonged reflection on the relationship between the character of the painter and the model. As in Requiem, the stories of Monique Proulx, Jane Urquhart, and Henry Bauchau distance themselves from a dynamic centered on eroticism and the nude perfection of the painter’s muse by placing this one at the heart of a fictional poïétique that completely mobilises her. Seduction no longer plays out through physical passions, but rather originates from the shortcomings and flaws of the model, which will be transformed and transfigured by the act of creation. This analysis, inspired by philosophical reflections on vulnerability (Ricœur, Levinas), will allow us to better understand how the latter is the proof of the universality of the artwork inscribed at the heart of the stories studied here. This analysis also legitimates a less pessimistic discourse around the myth of the artist, in which failure is no longer considered as an end in and of itself, but as a springboard towards a resolutely authentic creation.

Full textNikolai Klyuev (1884-1937) is one of the most fascinating figures of the Russian «Silver age» and modernism. Forbidden for half a century after the poet’s execution, his work was almost fully recovered only at the end of the 1980’s, and the publication of the late epic poems sparked an intense interest in those poetic testimonies of the violence of collectivization. Born in the Russian North, committed to the peasant revolution, Alexander Blok’s penpal between 1907 and 1915, ideologist of neo-populism in the 1910’s, bolshevik in 1919, Klyuev became in the 1920’s a reference for the young generation of soviet poets (Harms, Vvedenski, etc.), a keeper of Russian folk culture and an example of anti-behavior whithin the frame of a mutating literary field. Attracting a diverse crown and modifying his literary persona as well as his voice regarding his audience, Klyuev thrives on stage as well as within the private circle and couple. Whilst he has found during the 1910’s a valuable aesthetic material in Russian folklore, old belief and popular songs, his poetic universe gravitates around his «self» in an egocentric manner. The utopian formula of the «isba cosmos» is formulated precisely within the lyric cycles of the 1920’s that correspond to the intimate intention of his verse. Carnal and homoerotic, the «lyric hero» is also disembodied in the Word that carries the poetic intention, the same way the mask Klyuev dons in public becomes the vehicle of his narrative identity in perpetual representation

Full textRecent years have witnessed a rapprochement between public law and private law. An administrative act is now in case law subjected to the market. Private law logics include the regime of liability and tender agreement. This trend is usually arrested by the privatist doctrine through the analysis of activities under public law. The privatization of public law would respond to a loss of specificity of public service and a dilution of the concept of public interest. However, two findings encouraged to change the way to analyse this: first the sustainability of a judicial dualism and then the distinction between two categories of legal persons, public entities and private individuals. We therefore propose to study interactions between the evolution of administrative case law and the concept of public legal person

Full textThe aim of this thesis was to explore the modulation of the inhibitory synaptic transmission within the spinal motor networks, both during development and after SCI. Spontaneous movements are an ubiquitous feature of fetal and infant behavior. They provide signals that are important for the development of muscles and the assembly of neuronal networks in the spinal cord. In a first study, we characterized one of the mechanisms underlying spontaneous motor behaviors in the in vitro spinal cord preparation isolated from neonatal rats. We demonstrated that the GABA is playing a key role in promoting spontaneous activity through primary afferent depolarizations which reach firing threshold. In the second part of my thesis, we tested the robustness of the in vitro GABAergic depolarizations and their dependence on the aCSF parameters. We demonstrated that during development the depolarizing actions of GABA/glycine on motoneurons and GABA on primary afferent terminals are not due to inadequate energy supply. In the last part of my thesis, we focused on the modulation of the inhibitory synaptic transmission following SCI. We demonstrated that activation of the 5-HT2 receptors, particularly the 5-HT2ᴀ subtype, strengthens inhibitory synaptic transmission to spinal motoneurons by hyperpolarizing the reversal potential of Cl- ions (ECl) and by increasing the cell-membrane expression of KCC2. This phenomenon reduces spasticity after SCI in rats. Upregulation of KCC2 function by targeting 5-HT2ᴀ receptors therefore opens new therapeutic strategies for the treatment of spasticity following SCI

Full textLeisure expansion supports an increasing practice of outdoor activities. These may induce serious risks, leading to public health problems. Understanding the need for sensations allows for a better awareness of risk taking and an identification of personalities likely to endanger themselves. The goal of this thesis is to show the role of sensation-seeking in the self-regulatory processes and the personality traits involved in this relation. Risky sports athletes “escape from self-awareness” and “compensation” processes was the starting point of an investigation in self-regulation. After the french validation of a questionnaire measuring these two processes, four studies evaluate the links between certain personality traits, sensation seeking, self-regulation, sports practised and risk-taking: (1) escapism in risky sports and the multiplication of risky behaviours ; (2) “escapists” and “compensatory persons” personality ; (3) escapism and compensation in mountaineering and snowboarding or surfing activities (4) increased risk taken by “escapists”. A group of careless individuals characterized by escapism, extroversion, impulsivity and alexithymia is identified. These “escapists” may seek various, easily accessible sensations allegedly found in disinhibition or in risky sports. Their difficulty to identify their feelings might explain this self-regulatory process through the seeking of pleasant physical sensations. On the other hand, sportsmen who like adventure, such as mountaineering, are more careful and well-balanced, and some of them actually want to enhance and build up their personality

Full textThe analysis of repressive measures and preventive actions on delinquency, that have been used in the past and are still applied today, make us to evaluate their effectiveness and suggest to improving them for a humanist crimiminal policy. Togo criminal law concentrates all its effort on the nature of the offence and the intention behind it. Surely, it does not neglect the motive for action nor the offender's personality. But there is no deep methodical study on the personality of the accused. As far as criminal court is concerned, magistrates are often reluctant to investigate on the personality. On the other hand, in criminal matter the system of repression gives room for morality investigation and a medical expert is asked to give an appreciation on the penal responsibility. The scantiness of means of personality investigation in penal justice in Togo ; the budgetary parsimony on one hand, the excessive traditionalism of penal and penitentiary system on the other hand, and finally the outcome routine are insurmountable obstacles for a serious clinical observation and sentencing according to the characteristics of the offender. The humanism which should guide the penal justice in future must lead to a double choice - going beyond a surface repressive politics to deal with the evil thoroughly. It should be needed to give a legal character to the file on the personality of adult offenders. Thus in the pronouncement of the sentence, the judge should conciliate the penalty with the offender's particular qualities and the offence he performed. - thinking out again the old chorus of the penitentiary question " punish and amend " by contributing to the development of potentiality of individuals on remand. This should remain human in its structure as well as in the scheme applied to it. Moreover, the post- penal task is one of the best factors to prevent delinquency. We should then admit to develop and support it with all the necessary strength

The principal aims of this study consist in examining 1) the effects of the social desirability on the factor structure and the scores of the NEO PI R in the situation of recruitment, 2) the predictability of the NEO-PI-R for performance and counter-productive behaviors at work, and 3) the interpretation of the personality disorders by means of the NEO-PI-R and its applicability in the prediction of the counter-performance. We undertook our research with 21,349 job applicants in a French public transportation company. Our results show that the factor structure of the NEO-PI-R was not affected by the social desirability, nevertheless its scores were affected in the situation of recruitment. The applicants presented themselves more "Conscientious" and less "Neurotic" than the individuals of normative sample. The scores of the personality disorders which are calculated by means of the NEO-PI-R have correct sensitivities in spite of the dissymmetry of the distributions. As for the relationship between personality and performance, the dimension "Conscientiousness" predicts positively success in training and negatively counter-productive behaviors, the dimension "Neuroticism" predicts positively bus drivers’ accidents. The examination of the predictability of performance with the facets and the personality disorders offers additional information

Full textCan the africanity of caribbean cultures come down to distant survivals, or constitute the foundation of these cultures ? Literature, as a mirror of peoples, as a painting of cultures, as art, allows to perceive the cultural and literary continuity between the african continent and its caribbean diaspora. The comparison of english-speaking and french-speaking novels from the Caribbean and from West Africa and Central Africa shows common cultural features and literary topoi from one area to the other : colonial trauma, protection and adaptation of ancestral legacy, common spiritual values, linguistic problematics, paintings of resistance struggles in which the writer himself is in the frontline. This comparative study, which sometimes draws from caribbean and african oral literature, as from caribbean spanish-speaking literature, suggests that one should view the afro-caribbean cultural expressions as an extension of african cultural expressions, offering in this way a large panorama of the cultural and literary black world. From 1921 to the early years 2000, this analysis takes into account the changes of african and caribbean literatures and the societies they represent. Have the changes definitively broken the african civilizational unity, the cultural links between Africa and the Americas ? On the contrary, the reading of the novels of the corpus shows an homogeneous and coherent picture of cultural and literary expressions of Africa and its caribbean diaspora, so doing putting Africa back into the center of caribbean culture
Murcia, Thierry. "Jésus dans la littérature talmudique." Thesis, Aix-Marseille, 2012. http://www.theses.fr/2012AIXM3076.
Full textThis study presents a survey and a systematic analysis of the passages of Talmudic literature (Mishna – Tosefta – Palestinian Talmud – Babylonian Talmud – Midrashim), relative to Jesus or are supposed to be. The documents are examined, criticized and confronted to other sources of Jewish or Christian origin (Hellenistic Jewish literature, Jewish Apocrypha, rabbinic sources, Targumim, Toledot Yeshu – New Testament, Apostolic Fathers, Church Fathers). The investigation tries to answer to several questions: - What did the rabbis exactly know about Jesus? - Has their information any historical value? - Has their perception undergone some evolution? - Did the rabbis of the Talmud have access to the Gospels as a written source? The conclusion of this thesis is that all these documents are rooted in their Sitz im leben. They obviously attest – contra Peter Schäfer (Jesus in the Talmud, 2007) – that the rabbis had no direct acquaintance with the Gospels as written documents. This study also shows, concerning the Babylonian Talmud, that all the passages relative to Jesus belong to the last editorial layer of this corpus (VIIe-VIIIe century)

Full textIn Cauwelaert’s writing’s, the other life is a recurrent theme. The quest for the other life is a reaction against indifference and the strange existence led by the cauwelaertian protagonist, a foundling, a bastard, an orphan or an abandoned child. The character, in order to save himself, longs for an “elsewhere”. This other word, which imagination presents to his mind, can only be expressed and shared through literary writing. Most of the time, an unexpected event upsets by mere chance the initial situation ; from that “striking” event the plot thickens, the plot of the other life. But the journey to the future is essentially a quest for the past, achieves through memory. Through remembrance the past comes back to life and writes a new story where the present is no longer a prison. However, going back to the past means an initiation : through remembrance, the character conciliates life and dream. Writing serves as an help and as finality against time : writing strengthens man’s capacities and serves as a defence against all sorts of losses. Writing down that ambivalent quest leads to identity. That life, made of words, we have studied in our work

Full textThe subject of this thesis is the research of the contribution of the antique latin abusive literary practise to the social complexity and to the imaginative world. The thesis develops, in three distinct parts, a statistical, linguistic, literary and sociological study of the abusive terms in all the literary genres (125 texts and 50 authors) from IIIrd century BC to the fell of Rome in 475. It includes : - Abuses and Latin language (Volume I). Through a corpus of 1370 words and 2344 quotations, the author studies the different types of abusive words, their origins, constructions, senses and how they are employed in the latin sentences. - Abuses and latin literature (Volumes II and III). The author lists the uses (frequency and density) of abusive terms in theatre, in speeches, in poetry and in prose (philosophical or political studies, novels, correspondence. . . ). He studies the role and the functions of abuses in the texts and the connection they have with poetry, rhetoric and eloquence. - Abuses and antique roman Society (Volume IV) where is analyzed the social field of abuses according to the social groups, the Men/Women relations and the different forms of the practice of abusing naming. A special chapter is devoted to the antique roman imaginative world of abuses. The conclusion is about the civilizing role of abuses as welle in the antique Rome as in our collective unconscious. The corpus of words and quotations is detailed in a lexicon Latin-French and an index French-Latin (tome V). The lexicon is also available in. Pdf format as a CD-Rom
Benachir, Hynde. "Le "haiku" dans la littérature hispanique." Thesis, Bordeaux 3, 2016. http://www.theses.fr/2016BOR30036/document.
Full textThe purpose of this thesis is set at a crossroads between linguistics and literature since it is about the haiku in Hispanic literature, which we aim to characterize as a poetic form in the Spanish-speaking literary context and as a "prototype" of the brief from the perspective of its discursive and enunciative terms. Traditionally associated with Japanese culture, in which it takes root, the haiku is one of the shortest poetic forms in the world. With its seventeen syllables in all, it compels to the greatest thoroughness in the choice of words, a concise expression and a "condensation" of the meaning that make it a succint poem, often to be pondered after reading. Neither verse nor rhyme are part of the metrical constraints of the Japanese haiku. Its aesthetics, influenced by Zen Buddhism, aims to be contemplative, supported by the subjectivity of the poetic voice, which appears as a "witness of the world", only transposing facts that are sometimes "unimportant", often trivial, yet nonetheless a part of any person's daily life. In Western poetry, the haiku has no equivalent, owing as much to its brevity as to its "puristic" aesthetics. However, it should be noted that it is strongly represented in contemporary Hispanic literature. Neither the Orientalism from the beginning of the XXth century nor the poetic re-assessments started by the Modernists and carried on by the Avant-Garde movements are enough to explain this enthusiasm of the Spanish-speaking poets for this Japanese poem. Indeed, Hispanic literature took hold of this literary phenomenon as soon as the first translations of Japanese anthologies were published, in the 1910s. There is, however, no linguistic connection between the haiku and Spanish-speaking poets. Nevertheless, the first collections of haikus also date back to the 1910s, which indicates that there was no latency between the appearance of the haiku and its adaptation into Spanish. Starting from these observations, we attempted, through a multi-focal approach notably based on literal analysis, to retrace this poetic form's literary and linguistic path, from the Japanese rice paper rolls to the so-called "Hispanic" haiku

We deliberately chose to work on a large text corpus in order to highlight the multiple representations of the animal appearing in the texts of the period. The first part of this study is devoted to animal imagery through which the authors describe the characters and human qualities, exposing, to a lesser extent, the analogue relationship between animals. The second part aims to show existing relationships, symbolic or real, between man and animal. The staging of the animals in the story reflects thepractices and ways of thinking of the Hellenistic society towards the animal. The last part of this study presents the attempts to objectify the behaviours and qualities of the animal. In that sense, it shows the rise of philosophical schools and sciences of the period by the philosophical and didactic approach to animal nature. In texts, Hellenistic thought reveals the continual tension between belief and knowledge, between cultural representations and "scientific data" of the animal. If the authors conceive man as belonging to the animal biological continuum, they stand out by the assertion of their superiority in an intellective perspective

Full textAWith the resurgence of design customization, the consumer tends to choose a design whose personality is in line with his personality or which values its personality. Due to the ubiquity of design and increased competition, it becomes increasingly complex for the manager to differentiate his design and its acceptance by the target through effective communications. Thus the implementation of the knowledge of the personality of the design, its structure and factors of diffusion / adoption, can assist in making effective decisions and then consumer satisfaction. The purpose of this research is to propose a concept of the personality of the design, a hierarchical structure of the personality of the design and the factors favorising its diffusion / adoption. Indeed, the legitimacy of the approach is motivated by the anthropomorphism of design, the metaphor of the design and use of the human personality adjectives to describe the design. In an Italian context, the study is based on a convenience sample of four designs and processes (Mercedes, Coco Cola, Adidas Porsche and McDonald's). Factors analyzes were used to highlight a personality structure design composed of dimensions, factors and features. Infact, several analyzes demonstrate the strong predictive power and differentiator barometer of the personality of the design. Furthermore, the results show that the diffusion / adoption of the personality of the design is subject to a Mix composed of the perception of personality, communication channels and factors related to the individual. Thus, from an operational point of view, these tools could be very relevant to the diffusional, strategic and operational management of the design on its overall strategy

Full textThe "Narcissistic Personality" covers an extremely wide field ranging different pathologies : the "as if personalities", "antisocials" and psychopatic personalities, different types of perversions and the "neurotic characters". Born in a very precise social and historical context, we try to retrace here the origin, and to understand its extension in contemporary psychoathology. Since the term of "narcissistic personality" is a trans-structural concept, we try to clasifie here its different types in the neurosis-psychosis structural diagnosis perspective

Full textAddictions, acting-out and eating disorders are known to be comorbid with borderline personality disorder. Their high frequencies mean that they support involvements and functions in the way that borderline personality operates. Borderline subjects are led to acting-out urgently by mood disorder, depression, emotional instability and incapacity to regulate them. In borderline personality, defense mechanisms are diversified between nevrosis and psychosis. The major dysfunction seems to set on fail of self-containing and porosity of the borders of the self. Identity disorder and narcissistic failures are the main issues in borderline personality disorder which lead to recreate pathological relationship to the primary object with later relationship. Dependent relationship and fear of abandonment manage borderline subjects and their symptomatology with addictions and acting-out. This research aim to examine different dimensions: interpersonal dependency, attachment, alexithymia, depression, hopelessness feeling, anaclitism, dependent and avoidant personality disorders according to addictions with and without drugs, and suicide attempts and non suicidal self-injury

Full textSince the 80s, the postcolonial literatures have been raising increasing interest. Through a corpus of francophone and anglophone novels (from Chamoiseau, Condé, Kourouma, Waberi, Naipaul, Okri, Roy and Rushdie), this study intend to give a clear definition of the notion of hybridity, which is often associated to these literatures. Then, it analyses the way this hybridity is expressed in the novels and tries to show in which way it inscribes itself in an identity strategy. Postcolonial novels, with their diverse and sometimes contradictory heritage, are born on shaky ground, especially as their intended audience is often complex and as they often depend on recognition from Europe. They are peripheral literatures, whose place and legitimacy are not guaranteed. As such, they need to specify their context of enunciation all the more carefully and to develop a very specific scenography. It appears that these literatures rely on an ethos of loss, which is certainly felt as a suffering, but also as liberating. The hybrid also questions the notion of belonging. Embodiment of many identity aporias, it forces to think anew the traditional references. Finally, hybrid discourse, pervaded by perpetual negociation, sets itself up to be a new discourse, the reflection of the today’s changing world. Rather than to represent the identity crisis exclusively as the unhappy condition of the postcolonial individual, the postcolonial literatures turn it into a privileged position from which to elaborate new ways to be in the world

Full textThe Horn of Africa has a traditional oral literature which is rich and varied as the rest of the continent, starting from pastoral mythology to poetry, legend and storytelling. But with the social upheaval which occurred with the arrival of European settlers and the introduction of writing, the chain of transmission of the oral tradition is threatened. Many Europeans have sought to describe the habits and customs of these people. Whereas on the other hand, the writers from the Horn of Africa are often inspired by giving it (orality) and a new way of doing it. The following research work strives to reflect traditional forms of orality and their impact on modern literature

Full textThis thesis schematizes, in Malicroix by Henri Bosco, the process that presides to the writing of the novel itself. Using a poietic approach, we consider the text as a writer’s poetic that takes a fictional form. A phenomenological perspective allows us to study the novel from the point of view of perception, and mythocritique enables us to reflect on the perception of the world – especially the world of the text – through the angle of the sacred and its symbols. Reconstructing the horizontal and vertical structures of the novel, we reflect on diverse aspects of the text and of the scriptural process. The reading horizon constitutes the first chapter of our thesis and offers a triple view on the novel: the story and the characters, the spatiotemporal context and the mythical point of view. In the second chapter are elaborated two central notions, the figures and the chronotopes. Two groups of figures emerge, one associated with the writer as creator of the text and the other, with the process of expression. The figures play distinct roles in the conception and expression and are represented in Malicroix by way of the characters. The chronotopes study divides the novel in eleven times-spaces that constitute the basis of the figures’ progression through the text. The third chapter details how the figures cross the chronotopes’ series, drawing the scriptural route inscribed in eleven successive situations in the text. The last chapter contains two parts. The first examines the writer’s poetic that Bosco published under the title « L’exaltation et l’amplitude ». The second, which constitutes the final objective of our study, integrates the elements of this writer’s poetic in the eleven successive situations, producing a description of the stages of the scriptural process followed by Bosco while writing Malicroix.

Full textThis research work deals with Caribbean literature and more precisely with the issue of narration. A literary corpus will be used to study migrations and amalgamations within societies living in Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Caribbean writers have always been very concerned with History, and their attempts to describe their own society have been a constant phenomenon since the early 20th century. Thanks to this thesis, we will try to see whether all the contributions brought along via migratory movements toward, inward and outward Caribbean have been acknowledged by the culture of the host countries. The study is divided in three parts: the first will present the concepts and the historical background alluded to in the novels and short stories, the second will consist in a textual analysis, the third will focus on some authors' points of view. Marta Rojas, Luis López Nieves and Marcio Veloz Maggiolo have been asked five questions about Caribbean literature, their own oeuvre and their sources of inspiration. Thanks to their answers, we will try to figure whether nowadays Caribbean literature should be considered as one or many
Léontaridou, Théodora. "Le mythe troyen dans la littérature française." Paris 3, 2008. http://www.theses.fr/2008PA030013.
Full textFrom the 16th Century until the 20th, le troyan myth emerges in a variety of forms in French literature with famous or less known works but of equal significance as they convey the climate and the spirit of an era. The reason why all of these writers go into mythology could be partly explained by the imitation of ancients applied to the French letters of the 16th and 17th centuries. How this material is transformed, what the writers are expressing through the legends and the myths, which is the relationship of the transformed materiel with the initial, are some of the questions that this research is requested to explore. During the period of the Absolutism in which the freedom of expression is limited, the myth is proved to be a secure means which offers the security of the distance, the suitable frame and the flexibility of the mythological material which are processed by the creators. It becomes the vehicle of doubt and criticism of various grades against authority. The end of this political period removes from the myth this function. But it doesn’t stop its use in literature and the theater. This is because the myth is capable of putting again questions for the vital causes which deal with the human race, such as the woman, the war, the xenophobia
