ZusammenfassungUm 1960 konstatierte die Literaturkritik eine „Krise des Erzählens“. Viele Autoren reagierten darauf mit modernistischen Erzählweisen, bei denen der traditionell zuverlässige Erzähler verabschiedet wird. Besonders weit ging Peter Weiss (1916–1982), dessen erzählerische Experimente ihm den Ruf einbrachten, „ein“ oder „der Meister der deutschen Prosa“ zu sein. Das Konzept des „unzuverlässigen Erzählers“ wird in dem Aufsatz zunächst am Beispiel der Romane „Der Schatten des Körpers des Kutschers“ (1960) und „Fluchtpunkt“ (1962) überprüft. Am Beispiel des „Gesprächs der drei Gehenden“ (1963), über dessen in permanenter Wandlung befindliche fiktive Welt keine verlässlichen Aussagen verfügbar sind, wird gezeigt, dass in einem bestimmten Spektrum der modernistischen Erzählkunst die Frage nach der Zuverlässigkeit oder Unzuverlässigkeit des Erzählers nicht mehr sinnvoll zu stellen ist.

Abstract: In the debates following the 1926–27 competition for the new headquarters of the League of Nations in Geneva, the acoustic aspect was largely overlooked. The competition coincided with the formation of architectural acoustics as a profession and an academic discipline. Looking at this coincidence sheds new light on the reasoning of Peter Meyer and Sigfried Giedion, who, in support of Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret’s scheme, gave remarkable prominence to arguments about acoustics.
