Chile has gone through more than four decades of neoliberalism, inaugurated by the civil–military dictatorship (1973–1990). One of the central aspects of the current model is the neoliberal exploitation of natural commons such as land, water and minerals. In some territories, such as the central-north province of Petorca, the accelerated extractivism of this period has disrupted the reproduction of life cycles, leading to disruptive influences in the form of "socio-metabolic fractures". El VIH es considerado un problema de salud pública mundial debido a su progresiva incidencia. En Chile se reporta el aumento alarmante de esta patología especialmente en adolescentes y adultos jóvenes. El objetivo del presente estudio fue caracterizar el conocimiento de profesores de Petorca-Chile frente al VIH/SIDA, con un diseño de investigación descriptivo transversal, utilizando la Escala VIH-SIDA 65, aplicada a 22 profesores entre 23 y 62 años (M=39,91±11,86). This article examines the policies that have transformed water into a market commodity in Chile. Graciela Muñoz, an artist born and raised in one of the country’s areas affected by the drought produced by these policies, travelled to Chilean Patagonia to record the sound of the Baker River, and transferred its sounds to 28 small loudspeakers installed on the dry riverbed of the Petorca River, near her hometown. Un set de 18 marcadores microsatélite (SSR, del inglés “simple sequence repeat”, repetición de secuencia simple) identificados en Solanum tuberosum (papa cultivada) y que cubren sus 12 cromosomas fue desarrollado previamente para genotipificar el germoplasma de la papa cultivada.
