Abstract:
To činí nejmenší evropské státy pozoruhodnými nejen z perspektivy politické vědy.

Abstract:
Abstract Background: Positron emission tomography / computed tomography with fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG-PET/CT) is widely accepted for staging and for end treatment assessment in patients with DLBCL, and has demonstrated to have prognostic impact when used to evaluate early response to chemotherapy (CT) in this group of patients. In the last years, many changes in the way of interpreting PET/CT have been proposed, both for interim and for end of treatment (Barrington SG, J Clin Oncol 2014;32:3048-3058) We present preliminary data of the first Spanish centralized PET/CT review in a Phase 2 randomized trial in young patients with poor prognosis diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), which compares 6 cycles of RCHOP versus 6 cycles of a modified RCHOP regimen, Bortezomid-R CAP (BRCAP). ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT01848132. The main objective is to evaluate concordance between reviewers in interim and final PET, in order to stablish the best criteria for PET/CT assessment. PET2 ability to predict PET4 result is also analyzed. Methods: A blinded, prospective, centralized review in real time of PET/CT images was realized by the GELTAMO PET network. For each patient, images of basal (PET0), interim PET2 and PET4 and final PET after completion of chemotherapy (PET 6) were sent to a central platform, and then analysed by the review panel composed of seven expert nuclear medicine physicians. PET2 and PET4 were interpreted visually based on Deauville criteria (considering scores 4 and 5 as positive), and also semiquantitavely (considering a positive PET2 when ΔSUVmax≤66% and a positive PET4 when ΔSUVmax≤70%). PET6 was interpreted following Deauville criteria. Final result of every PET/CT was defined as positive or negative by the central review panel. When discordance between visual and semiquantitative analysis was found in interim PET, semiquantitative method was determinant of final result. A positive PET4 result determined dropped out from trial. Concordance between all readers was analysed using Cohen's kappa coefficient. Results: Of the first 76 patients that underwent PET/CT, 64 patients completed PET0, PET2 and PET4; 34 patients underwent PET0, PET2, PET4 and PET6. In the central review, 44/64 patients (69%) were PET2(-) and 20/64 (31%) were PET2(+); 44/64 (69%) were PET4(-) and 20/64 (31%) PET4(+); 21/34 (62%) were PET6(-) and 13/34 (38%) were PET6(+). We found 43 patients with negative PET2 and PET4, 19 patients with positive PET2 and PET4, 1 patient with positive PET2 and negative PET4, and 1 patient with negative PET2 and positive PET4. PET2 result was predictive of PET4 (p<0.001). Concordance between reviewers for PET2 using visual assessment was good (median kappa=0,74) and very good using semiquantitative analysis (median kappa: 0,83). Concordance between reviewers for PET4 using visual assessment was good (kappa=0,72) and very good when semiquantitative analysis was used (median kappa=0,87). For PET6, concordance between readers was moderate (kappa=0.45). Conclusion: In this homogeneus group of patients, a centralized semiquantitative analysis of interim PET after 2 and 4 cycles of chemotherapy improves concordance between readers in comparison with visual analysis. When semiquantitative method is used, PET2 is predictive of PET4 result. In the same way, visual analysis of PET6 using Deauville criteria seems to have a worse concordance between readers, but more patients need to be analyzed to confirm this result. Disclosures No relevant conflicts of interest to declare.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Abstract Abstract 320 Purpose: Positron emision tomography with [18F]fluorodeoxyglucose (PET) performed after one to four cycles of chemotherapy could predict treatment outcome in diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL). However, suitable criteria to interpret interim PET remain to be established. Visual analysis was related to reproducibility concerns and false positive results in previous reports, and standardized uptake value (SUV) was proposed to improve interim PET accuracy. To compare the clinical usefulness of both methods, we analysed sequential interim PET according to visual and SUV criteria in a prospective multicenter phase II trial. Patients and method: From 2007 to April 2009, 113 patients with aaIPI 2–3 factors DLBCL were randomly assigned to receive an induction treatment with four cycles of either R-ACVBP or R-CHOP14 in the LNH2007-3B GELA trial. PET was done at baseline (PET0) and after 2 (PET2) and 4 cycles (PET4) of immuno-chemotherapy. All PET scans were centrally reviewed and interpreted using visual criteria. SUVmax reduction values between PET0 and PET2 (DSUVmaxPET0-2) or PET4 (DSUVmaxPET0-4) were available for 85 out of 113 patients. After using the receiver operating characteristics approach, patients with a DSUVmaxPET0-2 >66% were considered as good responders after 2 cycles and those with a DSUVmaxPET0-4 >70% were considered as good responder at end of induction treatment. Progression-free survival (PFS) was analyzed according to PET results based on visual criteria and DSUVmax. Results: Using visual analysis, respectively 34% and 49% of patients achieved a negative PET2 and PET4. An agreement between on-site and review panel was observed in 89% and 92% of cases for PET2 and PET4 leading to a kappa coefficient of 0.769 and 0.836 respectively. Seventy (82%) patients had a DSUVmaxPET0-2 > 66% and 74 (88%) had a DSUVmaxPET0-4 > 70%. Using DSUVmax analysis, 45 (78%) of the 58 PET2 positive patients and 33 (80%) of the 41 PET4 positive patients could be reclassified as good responder after 2 and 4 cycles of immuno-chemotherapy, respectively. PET2 and PET4 results based on visual criteria had no impact on PFS (p=0.99 and p=.077, respectively). By constrast, PET results based on DSUVmax better predicted PFS: patients with a DSUVmaxPET0-2 >66% had a better 1-year PFS than patients with a lower DSUVmaxPET0-2 (89% v 56%; p=0.0031). Similarly, patients with a DSUVmaxPET0-4 >70% reached a 90% 1-year PFS, while patients with a lower DSUVmaxPET0-4 only had 23% 1-year PFS (p<0.0001). Conclusion: Real-time central PET review is feasible in a multicenter setting. Visual analysis had a good reproducibility but was associated to an excess of positive results as well for PET2 as for PET4. SUVmax reduction between baseline and interim PET was more accurate than visual analysis to predict early outcome of patients treated for high risk DLBCL. It also appears to be the best method so far to assess PET response either at mid or end of induction treatment. Disclosures: No relevant conflicts of interest to declare.

Abstract:
Vážení čtenáři, milé kolegyně a kolegové, přátelé celoživotního vzdělávání, právě jste otevřeli druhé číslo časopisu Lifelong Learning – Celoživotní vzdělávání vydané v roce 2020. Katarína Fuchsová a Jana Kapová z Prešovské univerzity prezentují výsledky výzkumu efektivnosti invervenčního programu koedukačních aktivit dětí a seniorů žijících v domovech sociálních služeb. Obě autorky vycházejí z přesvědčení, že vzájemná interakce dětí a seniorů má potenciál ovlivňovat vnitřní prožívání a následné projevy chování u obou skupin.

Abstract:
Over the last decades, the Per Capita Personal Income (PCPI) variable was a common measure of the effectiveness of economic development policy. Therefore, this paper is an attempt to investigate the determinants of personal income by using spatial panel data models for 48 U.S. states during the period from 2009 to 2017. We utilize the three following models: spatial autoregressive (SAR) model, Spatial Error (SEM) Model, and Spatial Autoregressive Combined (SAC) model, with individual (or spatial) fixe deffects according to three different known methods for constructing spatial weights matrices: binary contiguity, inverse distance, and Gaussian transformation spatial weights matrix. Additionally, we pay attention for direct and indirect effects estimates of the explanatory variables for SAR, SEM, and SAC models. The second objective of this paper is to show how to select the appropriate model to fit our data. The results indicate that the three used spatial weights matrices provide the same result based on goodness of fit criteria, and the SAC model is the most appropriate model among the models presented. However, the SAC model with spatial weights matrix based on inverse distance is better compared to other used models. Also, the results indicate that percentage of individuals with graduate or professional degree, real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita, and number of nonfarm jobs have a positive impact on the PCPI, while the percentage of individuals without degree or bachelor’s degree have a negative impact on the PCPI.

Abstract:
Along with an increasing interest in the plasticity and role of personality across the adult lifespan comes the need for a diverse set of innovative statistical approaches to study it. With this paper, we set out to illustrate some of the possibilities and challenges in modelling age–related differences and time–related changes in personality psychology by means of dynamic panel models. To this end, we first distinguish between the study of age–related differences and time–related changes and demonstrate how the treatment of age and time as either discrete or continuous variables implies important modelling choices. Second, we present a selection of four example cases that address the topic of age moderation in diverse matters and with different objectives. Based on our cross–tabulation of age and time as discrete and continuous variables, the first two example cases represent fairly well–established models (cases A and B), whereas the remaining cases are used to illustrate current developments in the field (cases C and D). We close the paper with some final remarks on current limitation and future research directions. © 2019 European Association of Personality Psychology

The article describes the history of Pavel Annenkov’s publications about Pushkin in the journal "Vestnik Evropy (Herald of Europe)" referring to the letters to Mikhail Stasyulevich ("Pushkin under Alexander I", "Public ideals of Pushkin"); it gave the basis of Pavel Annenkov’s biography method, commented his polemics with the opponents and defined more precisely the creative history of his work "A Literary Litigation". Special attention is paid to Pavel Annenkov’s interpretation of Pushkin’s notes about the history of Peter I and the explanation of Pushkin’s public position in the 1830s. The analysis of Pavel Annenkov’s review about edition of Pushkin by Pyotr Yefremov lets understand the demands for an academical publication. The last Pavel Annenkov’s article "Literary projects of Pushkin" confirmed his idea about Pushkin’s method of approach for Russian history and culture in the European context.

Abstract:
A peer review panel made up of experts in toxicology, epidemiology, cancer mode of action (MOA), cancer mechanisms, carcinogenicity, genotoxicity, dose–response, US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) cancer and noncancer methods, pharmacokinetic modeling and acrylonitrile, met on 22–23 September 2003 in Cincinnati, OH. The purpose of the meeting was to provide an independent review of a risk assessment of acrylonitrile that had been prepared by the Acrylonitrile Group (AN Group). Toxicology Excellence for Risk Assessment (TERA) organized the peer review and selected the panel. The panel discussed the toxicity and epidemiology literature of acrylonitrile and MOA information, and reached conclusions regarding its MOA, weight of evidence (WOE) for carcinogenicity, preferred approach for dose-response assessment and risk values. This paper summarizes the discussion and conclusions of the panel regarding the acrylonitrile assessment. Subsequent to the peer review, the authors of the acrylonitrile assessment revised their report and the panel reviewed the revised report. A manuscript of the revised assessment is being published in Regulatory Toxicology and Pharmacology.

Abstract:
Many longitudinal studies have investigated whether self–esteem predicts depressive symptoms (vulnerability model) or the other way around (scar model) in adolescents. The most common method of analysis has been the cross–lagged panel model (CLPM). The CLPM does not separate between–person effects from within–person effects, making it unclear whether the results from previous studies actually reflect the within–person effects or whether they reflect differences between people. We investigated the associations between self–esteem and depressive symptoms at the within–person level, using random intercept cross–lagged panel models (RI–CLPMs). To get an impression of the magnitude of possible differences between the RI–CLPM and the CLPM, we compared the results of both models. We used data from three longitudinal adolescent samples (age range: 7–18 years; study 1: N = 1948; study 2: N = 1455; study 3: N = 316). Intervals between the measurements were 1–1.5 years. Single–paper meta–analyses showed support for small within–person associations from self–esteem to depressive symptoms, but not the other way around, thus only providing some support for the vulnerability model. The cross–lagged associations in the aggregated RI–CLPM and CLPM showed similar effect sizes. Overall, our results show that over 1– to 1.5–year time intervals, low self–esteem may negatively influence depressive symptoms over time within adolescents, but only weakly so. © 2018 The Authors. Initially assessors were drawn from the same student year group as the performers (BMus, year 2). The process was monitored by the authors who subsequently met with each assessment panel to discuss the performances before marks and reports were finalised. In the following years the assessment of second-year performances was conducted by panels of final-year students; this resulted in more objective reporting.

Abstract:
Abstract Background: survival of young patients with high IPI DLBCL treated with RCHOP chemotherapy needs to be improved. In this poor risk population the combination of RCHOP with new drugs is an attractive approach, along with performing an early evaluation with PET/CT after 2 to 4 cycles and change induction therapy if a complete response is not achieved. Bortezomib has been combined with RCHOP [1]. We present preliminary data of patients treated in a clinical trial comparing 6 cycles of RCHOP vs 6 cycles of BRCAP, a modified RCHOP regimen changing vincristine by bortezomib at a dose of 1.3 mg/m2 sc days 1, 8, and 15 of every 21 days cycle (NCT01848132). Methods: patients younger than 70 yrs diagnosed of DLBCL with aIPI 2-3 or aIPI 1 with elevated beta2microglobulin were eligible. The main objective was to evaluate the proportion of patients who survives free of event at 2 years. Central pathology review was performed in all cases, and samples were classified as GC vs non-GC subtypes by IHC (Hans algorithm). PET/CTs were performed at diagnosis, after 2, 4 and 6 cycles (PET2, PET4 , and PET6), and were reviewed by at least 3 experts of a central panel at real time. Response was analyzed following the visual method with the Deauville scale, and for PET2 and PET4 the semiquantitative method was used. Patients with persistent disease after 4 cycles were considered a failure of therapy and were dropped out from the trial. Results: data from the first 76 patients were analyzed. Diagnosis of DLBCL was confirmed in all except 3 pts, 36 pts were treated in the experimental arm and 37 in the control arm. Median age was 58.2 yo (range 23-70), 37 (50.7%) were males. Characteristics at diagnosis were: non-GC subtype 18/46 (39.1%), C-myc expression 35/43 (81.4%), bcl2 expression 43/49 (87.7%), double expression cmyc/bcl2 30/42 (71%), stage III-IV 64 (87.6%), ≥2 extranodal locations 27 (42.2%), ECOG 2-3 24 (33%), elevated LDH 43 (62.3%), elevated beta 2 microglobulin 47 (75.8%), aIPI 2: 42 (57.5%), aIPI 3: 21 (28.8%). Among 160 cycles of BRCAP chemotherapy, 5 (3.1%) on day 8, and 22 (13.7%) on day 15, were given without bortezomib due to a neutrophil count below 0.5 /L. The most common toxicities are shown in table 1 without significant differences between both arms. Twenty-one (32.8%) out of 64 patients had a positive PET2. Fifteen (26.8%) out of 56 patients who have finished the 4 cycles had a positive PET4 according to central review and were withdrawn of the trial. Table 1. Its main toxicity is hematological, and some patients cannot receive some doses of bortezomib due to neutropenia. Grade 3-4 non-hematological toxicity is rare, including peripheral neuropathy, and do not differ from RCHOP toxicity. 1.Ruan J et al, JCO 2011;29:690-7 Disclosures Sancho: CELLTRION, Inc.: Research Funding. Abstract:
This study applied a multivariate panel Granger causality test to examine the causal relationship between peer-to-peer lending (P2PL) and bank lending (BL) in China’s eight major regions for the period from 2014M01 to 2019M12. The empirical results of this paper support evidence for the P2PL leading hypothesis in regions such as Jiangsu and Hubei while the BL leading hypothesis relationship supports the evidence for regions such as Zhejiang and Shanghai. In addition, there is an interactive causal relationship between P2PL and BL in a region such as Shandong. However, the result of a neutrality hypothesis supports three of these eight major regions (Guangdong, Beijing and Sichuan). The findings of this paper provide important policy implications for China’s eight major regions as well as business sectors in the banking industry for understanding and predicting market conditions.

Abstract:
Through a questionnaire survey, this study explored the factors affecting student participation in peer-assisted English learning (PAEL) based on online education platforms. Specifically, the authors constructed the system of PAEL contents, analyzed the online PAEL behaviors of students, and evaluated the student participation in online PAEL from both surface participation and deep participation. On this basis, the influencing factors of student participation in online PAEL were evaluated thoroughly. In the end, several countermeasures were presented to solve the problems with student participation in online PAEL. The results show that: the online PAEL face such problems like low-level knowledge structure and poor interaction quality, weak intensity of interaction, and inactive atmosphere of collaboration; In general, the students are not actively participating in online PAEL; the student participation in online PAEL is greatly affected by teachers, students, teaching contents, and online education platforms; the low participation in online PAEL mainly arises from the weak motives of students for online PAEL, the inadequate teaching design and supervision of teachers, and the imperfect functions of online education platform. The research enriches the theoretical and practical results on the factors affecting student participation in online PAEL.

Abstract:
Interactional theory posits a reciprocal relationship among drug use, association with drug using peers, and beliefs about drug use. Using five waves of data from a panel study of high-risk adolescents, two models are estimated to examine these assumptions. The results support the main hypotheses from interactional theory. Drug use and peer drug use are involved in a reciprocal causal relationship with the effect from drug use to peer drug use being slightly larger. Beliefs about drug use and drug use are also reciprocally related although the effect of beliefs on drug use is relatively weak. The effect of peer drug use on beliefs is stronger in later waves as compared to earlier waves, supporting interactional theory's assumptions about the importance of taking into account developmental stages of drug use. The importance of these findings for both theoretical development and intervention strategies is discussed.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to assess the impact of sociopolitical instability on the peer-to-peer market for tourist accommodation. Design/methodology/approach The author studies for the case of Barcelona the impacts of the events occurring in the past months of 2017, which consisted of a terrorist attack and the calling for a referendum on the independence of Catalonia, by fitting a fixed effects regression model to a data panel of Airbnb listings, using New York and Paris as a control group. Findings The results show that, after controlling for individual and time effects, listing reviews and revenues fall in the last quarter of 2017 and do not recover until the second quarter of the next year, in spite of a notable effort to decrease prices in the same period. They also indicate that peer-to-peer hosts react fast to demand shocks and as those from traditional markets. Originality/value This is the first study to evaluate the impact of terrorism or political uncertainty in the peer-to-peer market and the first to evaluate their combined effect in any market.

Abstract Background: Survival of DLBCL patients with high IPI treated with RCHOP immunochemotherapy is poor. In this population, the combination of RCHOP with new drugs is an attractive approach, along with performing an evaluation with PET/CT after 2 to 4 cycles to change the therapy if an early complete response is not achieved. Methods : We performed a clinical trial comparing 6 cycles of RCHOP vs 6 cycles of BRCAP, a modified RCHOP regimen changing vincristine by bortezomib 1.3 mg/m2 sc days 1, 8, and 15 of a 21-day cycle. Pre-phase therapy was permitted for patients who could not wait the results of the screening procedures to start therapy due to the aggressiveness of the disease. (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT01848132). Patients younger than 71 yrs diagnosed with DLBCL and an age-adjusted IPI (aaIPI) 2-3 or aaIPI 1 with increased beta2microglobulin were eligible. The primary endpoint was the proportion of patients who survives free of event at 2 years. Centralized anatomopathology review was performed in all cases; samples were classified as germinal center B-cell-like (GCB) vs non-GCB subtypes by immunohistochemistry according to the Hans algorithm. PET/CTs were performed baseline, after 2, 4 and 6 cycles (PET2, PET4, and PET6), and were reviewed at real time by at least 3 experts of a central panel. Response at the end of therapy was analyzed following the visual method with the Deauville scale, and response after PET2 and PET4 was evaluated using the semiquantitative method. Persistent disease at PET4 was considered as failure of therapy and these patients were removed from trial treatment. EFS was calculated from diagnosis until event defined as death from any cause, relapse, progression or need of salvage therapy (defined as PET4 or PET6 positive). Overall survival (OS) was calculated from diagnosis until death for any cause. We present here a preliminary analysis of results. Results: One hundred and twenty-one patients were included; data on 113 are presented (diagnosis not confirmed in 6, data missing in 2). Median age was 57.1 yrs (range 23-70), 57 (50.4%) were males. Characteristics at diagnosis were: non-GCB subtype 32/87 (36.8%), immunohistochemical co-expression of myc/bcl2 56/82 (77.8%), stage III-IV 107 (94.7%), ≥2 extranodal locations 55/76 (72.5%), ECOG 2-3 36 (32.1%), increased LDH 88 (77.9%), increased beta 2 microglobulin 73 (64.6%), aaIPI 3: 32 (28.3%). No differences were found between treatment arms. Fifty-five patients were treated in the experimental arm (EA) and 58 in the control arm (CA). Twenty-eight (28.3%) out of 99 patients required of pre-phase treatment. The mean relative dose intensity for bortezomib was 88.3%. Data about the most frequent toxicity are shown in table 1. Twenty-nine (30.2%) out of 96 patients who have finished 4 cycles had a positive PET4 according to central review and were withdrawn to receive salvage therapy. Complete remission (CR) at the end of therapy (PET4-/PET6-) was observed in 44 (45.8%) patients. After a median follow-up of 9 months, estimated 12-mo EFS was 36.6%, and 12-mo OS was 82.9% in the whole series. Data of the subgroup analysis according the immunohistochemistry subtypes by Hans algorithm are show in table 2. Conclusions: In the present preliminary analysis, no significant differences were found between RCHOP and BRCAP in terms of CR and EFS in this very high-risk population of young DLBCL patients. However, in the subgroup analysis of patients with non-GCB disease, we found a significantly better CR rate in patients treated with BRCAP. A longer follow-up is needed to evaluate the real impact of this therapy on survival.
