Full textUnderstanding the dissolution processes of carbonate rocks is essential in the context of the genesis of karstic environments and CO₂ storage. The circulation of an acidic fluid in a carbonate rock induces different dissolution patterns, controlled by the properties of the rock (mineralogy, porosity, permeability) and the environmental conditions (chemical composition and pH of the solution, flow rate, temperature). This experimental study, integrating different scales, demonstrates that the complex microstructure of carbonate rocks plays a major role in the development of these different dissolution patterns. This work also highlights the specific impact of each of these dissolution patterns on the elastic properties of the rocks
