IntroductionThis is a doctrinal movement that seeks to analyze mental illness without reductionism and seeks to grasp the nearest as possible to the reality of the patient.AimsThis is the analysis of an event, a concept, a feeling, trying to grasp as it is lived by the subject and in the direction you may have for him.MethodsReview of literature.ResultsIt was the first approach to the knowledge of the pathological experience and was the first scientific model to characterize the mental pathology. It was the central doctrine of psychiatry until the end of World War II, when the hegemony of the German psychiatric science gave way to the views that are primarily developed in Anglo-Saxon countries (psychoanalysis and behavioral psychology), although some European countries such as Germany and Spain continued growing until the 1980s, when it culminated in the publication of the DSM-III (1980).ConclusionsThese approaches are “old fashioned” but are essential to understand and know the reality of human sick, “mentally ill man.”Disclosure of interestThe author has not supplied his/her declaration of competing interest.

Abstract:
Mind is influenced by socio-cultural religious belief systems, experiences and attributions in the development of psychophenomenology. Film viewing is a common entertainment among young adults.ObjectivesInfluence of repetitive watching of films of fiction and horror genres on onset phenomenology in young adults.MethodTwo case reports on onset of psychotic features and mixed anxiety depressive phenomenology were seen in two patients aged 16 and 20 years respectively and based on the fantastic imagination created by films. The 28-year-old female patient diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder had onset at 16 years of age and the course of phenomenology was influenced by the fiction movie ‘Jumanji’ with partial response to medications over 10 years. The depressive and anxiety symptoms of less than 6 months duration of a 20-year-old male patient was influenced by film ‘Hannibal’ and responded to antidepressant and cognitive behavior therapy.ConclusionsHorror and fiction films can influence the thinking patterns and attribution styles of a young adult by stimulating fantasy thinking which if unrestrained can lead to phenomenology. Viewing films compulsively, obsessive ruminations on horror and fictional themes can lead to onset of psychopathology of both psychosis and neurotic spectrum. Further research on neurobiological, psychological correlates is needed. Parental guidance and restricted viewing of horror genre films with avoidance of repeated stimulatory viewing of same genre movies in children, adolescents, young adults and vulnerable individuals is required.Disclosure of interestThe authors have not supplied their declaration of competing interest.

Abstract:
We have yet to understand the magnetic activity cycles of cool close binary systems of sunlike stars. Mutual tidal interactions, as well as magnetic ones, may result from a regime of dynamo models not yet tested, because these have been developed for single stars. To arrive at the basic physics, though, requires that we first examine the phenomenology of magnetic activity for binary systems. In particular, we would like to discover if such activity has a clearly-defined cycle, such as the sun exibits.Among the proxy indicators of magnetic activity are the Ca II H and K lines. Strassmeier et al. (1988) used the strength of these lines as the primary criterion for the inclusion of systems in The Catalog of Chromospherically Binary Stars. Of the RS CVn stars in the catalog, 12 have orbital periods of one day or shorter; 9 are eclipsing systems. As part of a decade-long program, we have focussed our observations and models on eight of the short-period group (Hall, 1976): XY UMa, UV Psc, SV Cam, RT And, CG Cyg, ER Vul, BH Vir, and WY Cnc. These close systems are tidally-locked in synchronous rotation and tidally-distorted into Roche lobe configurations.

Abstract:
AbstractSince the establishment of the Hipparcos Catalog as the defining source of the optical reference frame, densification beyond its ≈ 120,000 stars has been made possible by the utilization of the Tycho-1 Catalog. The ACT, combining the old Astrographic Catalog (AC) data with the Tycho-1 positions, is the best known example of this. The Tycho-2 consortium, led by E. Høg, has performed new reductions on the Tycho data. This not only has increased the astrometric and photometric accuracies of the original 1 million Tycho-1 stars, but also has added an additional 1.5 million stars. The U.S. Naval Observatory led the effort to compute the proper motions of these 2.5 million stars. They are based not only on the AC data but also include over 140 other ground-based catalogs, all directly reduced to the Hipparcos system. The result of these efforts is the Tycho-2 Catalog, available since February 2000. Positions, proper motions, and BT and VT magnitudes are given for 2.5 million stars. The catalog is 99% complete to V=11.0, and 90% complete to V=11.5. Positional accuracies at the mean epochs vary from < 10 mas for stars V < 9 to just under 100 mas for V > 12. Proper motion accuracies are estimated to be 1.3 mas/year to 3.0 mas/year for the same magnitude ranges. Photometric accuracies range from 0.02 magnitudes for the brightest stars to 0.25 magnitudes for the faintest.

Abstract:
AbstractMajor advances in our understanding of the Universe have historically come from dramatic improvements in our ability to accurately measure astronomical quantities. The astrometric observations obtained by modern digital sky surveys are enabling unprecedentedly massive and robust studies of the kinematics of the Milky Way. For example, the astrometric data from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS), together with half a century old astrometry from the Palomar Observatory Sky Survey (POSS), have enabled the construction of a catalog that includes absolute proper motions as accurate as 3 mas/year for about 20 million stars brighter than V=20, and for 80,000 spectroscopically confirmed quasars which provide exquisite error assessment. We discuss here several ongoing studies of Milky Way kinematics based on this catalog. The upcoming next-generation surveys will maintain this revolutionary progress. For example, we show using realistic simulations that the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST) will measure proper motions accurate to 1 mas/year to a limit 4 magnitude fainter than possible with SDSS and POSS catalogs, or with the Gaia survey. LSST will also obtain geometric parallaxes with accuracy similar to Gaia's at its faint end (0.3 mas at V=20), and extend them to V=24 with an accuracy of 3 mas. We discuss the impact that these LSST measurements will have on studies of the Milky Way kinematics, and potential synergies with the Gaia survey.

Abstract:
The article analyzes errors in two Old-Russian Apostolos manuscripts: Apostolus Christinopolitanus from the 12th century (an example of the commented type) and Tolstovskiy Apostolus from the 14th century (an example of the continuous type). The result of this research is new information about the reception of loan words, text reinterpretation, the influence of antigraphs and comments, and the personality of the Tolstovskiy scribe. The author corrects errors on both lexical and grammatical levels. Some of the lexical errors are provoked by deformations in the Greek text (homonym and paronym mixing). There are also various transformations of appellatives to onyms, and vice versa. All of this might occur in the antigraph as well as in the Tolstovskiy manuscript. Grammatical errors are fixed on the macro- and microlevels. There are cases of incorrect text segmentation within syntagms and between paragraphs in the Tolstovskiy manuscript which take place owing to the influence of the Praxapostolos and the commented type of Apostolos. Both manuscripts are also influenced by comments. This is reflected in grammatical and semantic alteration of the main text and, more rarely, in direct comments included in the main text, although the latter is not supposed for the continuous type to which the Tolstovskiy manuscript belongs. As for the chirographer of the Tolstovskiy manuscript, his background could not be characterized by a high level of literacy or by rich knowledge of the New Testament. He obviously did not have any Greek copies or more correct Slavonic copies at his disposal.

YA novels increasingly tell stories about memory loss, from adolescent amnesia to cognitive decline in older age. This article examines the representation of forgetting in Jenny Downham's Unbecoming, Clare Furniss's How Not to Disappear, and Emily Barr's The One Memory of Flora Banks. Drawing on liberatory psychology, queer phenomenology, and theories of creative embodiment, it argues that dominant narratives of dementia and ageing might be challenged by analysing symbolic scenes of floating and falling.

Abstract:
In the context of Bakhtin’s preoccupation with corporality, one of his best known concepts is that of the grotesque body. The ‘open’ and grotesque body coincides with the generation and invention of the new word-body, the word in action, separated from the old word-body. Moreover, the transgression in the grotesque has to be considered as a categorical infringement, as a violation of the bounderies between body and word, subject and object, external and internal. Bakhtin’s paper on Content, Material and Form… contains the first articulation of the concept of ambiguity (double body, double word and ambivalent meaning) in Bakhtin’s theory of discourse. His thoughts on the corporeality [тeлecнocть] of the act of reception, and on the author’s and reader’s direct presence prepares and supports the – non-hermeneutic, non-semiotic – contemporary theories of the literary text.

Abstract:
Aims. Questions of how massive quiescent galaxies rapidly assembled and how abundant they are at high redshift are increasingly important in the study of galaxy formation. Looking at these systems can shed light on the processes of galaxy mass assembly and quenching of the star formation at early epochs. In order to address these questions, we aim to identify and characterize massive quiescent galaxies from z ∼ 2.5 out to the highest redshifts at which these systems can be found. The final purpose is to compare the results with the predictions of state-of-the-art semi-analytical models of galaxy formation and evolution. Methods. We defined observer-frame color–color diagrams to optimally select quiescent galaxies at z > 2.5 and applied them to the COSMOS2015 catalog. We refined the spectral energy distribution (SED) fitting analysis for the selected candidates to confirm their quiescent nature, then derived their number density, mass density, and stellar mass functions. Finally, we compared the results with previous observations and some current semi-analytic models. Results. We selected candidates for quiescent galaxies in the redshift range 2.5 ≲ z ≲ 4.5 from the COSMOS2015 catalog by means of two color–color diagrams. The additional SED fitting analysis allowed us to select 128 galaxies, consistent with being massive (log(M*/M⊙)≥10.6), old (ages ≳0.5 Gyr), and quiescent (log(sSFR [yr−1]) ≤ −10.5) objects at high redshift (2.5 < z < 4.5). Their number and mass densities are in fair agreement with previous observations and, if confirmed, show a discrepancy with current semi-analytical models of galaxy formation and evolution, that underpredict the number of massive quiescent systems up to a factor of ∼12 at 2.5 ≤ z < 3.0 and ∼10 at z ∼ 4.0. The evolution of the stellar mass functions (SMFs) of these systems is similar to previous estimates and indicates a disagreement with models, particularly with regard to the shape of the SMF. Conclusions. The present results add further evidence to the possibility that massive and quiescent galaxies can exist out to at least z ∼ 4. If future spectroscopic observations carried out with, for example, the James Webb Space Telecope (JWST), confirm the substantial presence of such a population, further work on modeling the stellar mass assembly, as well as supermassive black hole accretion and feedback processes at early cosmic epochs, is needed to understand how these systems formed, evolved, and quenched their star formation.

Context. Developing high-precision ephemerides for Neptunian satellites requires not only the continuation of observing campaigns but also the collection and improvement of existing observations. So far, no complete catalogs of observations of Neptunian satellites are available. Aims. We aim to provide new, precise positions, and to compile a catalog including all available ground-based astrometric observations of Neptunian satellites. The observations are tabulated in a single and consistent format and given in the same timescale, the Terrestrial Time (TT), and reference system, the International Celestial Reference System (ICRS), including necessary changes and corrections. Methods. New CCD observations of Triton and Nereid were made at Lijiang 2.4-m and Yaoan 0.8-m telescopes in 2013–2019, and then reduced based on Gaia-DR2. Furthermore, a catalog called OCNS2019 (Observational Catalog of Neptunian Satellites (2019 version)) was compiled, after recognizing and correcting errors and omissions. Furthermore, in addition to what was considered for the COSS08 catalog for eight main Saturnian satellites, all observed absolute and relative coordinates were converted to the ICRS with corrections for star catalog biases with respect to Gaia-DR2. New debiasing tables for both the modern and old star catalogs, which were previously not provided based on Gaia-DR2, are developed and applied. Treatment of missing positions of comparison bodies in conversions of observed relative coordinates are proposed. Results. OCNS2019 and the new debiasing tables are publicly available online. OCNS2019 includes 24996 observed coordinates of 11 Neptunian satellites obtained over 3741 nights from 1847 to 2019. All observations are given in TT and ICRS. The star catalog biases are removed, which are significant for Nereid and outer satellites. We obtained 880 (5% of total now available) new coordinates for Triton over 41 nights (1% of total observation nights so far), and 790 (14%) for Nereid over 47 nights (10%). The dispersions of these new positions are about 0.″03 for Triton and 0.″06 for Nereid. Conclusions. OCNS2019 should be useful in improving ephemerides for the above-mentioned objects.

Abstract:
Under the general rubric of the development of object constancy and permanence, the concepts of time, space, motion, and noncentrist motion are assimilated through a hierarchy of steps. This developmental continuum begins at the pervasive ego-centric position of early infancy, where there is no concept of the outside world, and ends at the stage where the world serves as the frame of reference for all subjectively perceived events. The general impetus for movement along this continuum (with allowance for periodic regression) is formulated as a basic tendency to generalize from unitary experience into generalized expectancies. This tendency manifests through integration algorithms that are expressed by establishing induction as a governing principle of phenomenological expectancies, thus forming the essence of a systematic explanatory network comprising an internalized catalog of events the person had encountered in the past. Such historical antecedents serve to extract certain contingencies from the heretofore unexplained or "magical" domain of childhood logic and enable their codification as explainable events. We suggest that this is precisely the opposite of a parallel process that proceeds from total noncentricity to phenomenology of subjectivity: philosophical inquiry into logic events.

AbstractModern tasks of high precision astrometry demand optical coordinate systems including more faint stars than are available now in current conventional systems (Hipparcos). For this purpose it is suggested to use old photographic observations accumulated in the Pulkovo Observatory. Extensive observational data have been obtained at Pulkovo Observatory during the last century in the framework of several programs, e.g. Pulkovo Galaxy plan, etc. Observations have been made with the Normal Astrograph from 1894 to the present. The data are investigated with the aim of extending the Hipparcos catalog to stars fainter than 11th magnitude. All available observations are taken into account. A description of the material considered is given. The distribution of the selected plates over the celestial sphere is shown as well. Coordinates of faint stars in the Hipparcos system are calculated for selected areas. The accuracy of computed star coordinates is analyzed. Results of the investigation are presented.

Solenysa currently includes 14 species from China, Japan and the Korean Peninsula (Simon 1894; Namkung 1986; Li & Song 1992; Gao, Zhu & Sha 1993; Tu, Ono & Li 2007; Ono 2011; Tu & Hormiga 2011; Wang, Ono & Tu 2015). The linyphiid phylogeny based on molecular data shows that Solenysa species forms one of the seven main clades within Linyphiidae (Wang et al. 2015). According to the phylogenetic analysis based on morphological data, Tu and Hormiga (2011) divided the genus Solenysa into four species groups, each having a unique genital type comprised by series genital characters. As an old branch with a long evolutionary history, Solenysa spiders have accumulated a long list of synapomorphies (Tu & Hormiga 2011), not only having a unique somatic appearance, but also specific genitalic characters that distinguish them from all other linyphiids.

The metallicity-sensitive (U – G) colors from the new homogeneous catalog of photographic RGU data in seven high-latitude fields have been used to determine the larger-scale metallicity distributions of the Galactic population components. For the thick disk, preliminary analysis based on our best structural models provides a mean metallicity 〈[M/H]〉 = −0.6 ± 0.3dex and a marginal vertical metallicity gradient ≈ −0.1dex/kpc. The observed color distributions are further consistent with the (old) thin disk having mean abundance 〈[M/H]〉 = −0.3 ± 0.2dex and abundance gradient ∂[M/H]/∂z = −0.6dex/kpc.

Abstract:
Autobiographical writing offers a vast and virtually untapped resource for the historical phenomenology of aging. This essay interprets the autobiography of Joel Andrews—an aging Yankee farmer whose life spanned the period from the American Revolution to the end of the Civil War. We attempt to recreate the poignance and integrity of this ordinary man's struggle with aging and death within the context of his own historical circumstances and religious beliefs. In particular, the essay argues that Andrews' autobiography both reflects and helps accomplish his central task in old age: the religiously sanctioned transition from physical to spiritual man. Andrews' experience provides an interesting contrast to contemporary ideas about health and vitality in old age.

Continues magnetic measurements at the IKIR FEB RAS obser-vatories Magadan (MGD), Paratunka (PET), Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk (YSS), Cape Schmidt (CPS) and Khabarovsk (KHB) and CSIR-NGRI observatories Hyder-abad (HYB) and Choutuppal (CPL) have been started almost since their formation. A significant part of the results obtained is presented in the WDC and INTERMAGNET databases. However, a large amount of raw data remains un-processed and unavailable for using by scientific community. In the past few years, institutes has been making efforts to process and reprocess old magnetic data. Digital images of analog magnetograms of the Observatory Paratunka since 1967 were obtained and the possibility of their use for calculation hourly and minute values of magnetic field elements was evaluated. Old digital data that was available during the conversion from analog to digital magnetometers is processed. The main problem of processing or re-processing archived data is the lack of information (metadata) about the measurement conditions. First of all, these are the results of absolute observations, which are necessary to obtain the values of the elements of the total field vector. In this paper, some technologies are proposed that allow to use the data obtained during processing of analog magnetograms to adjust the digital magnetometers records. A signif-icant problem is the lack or inaccuracy of information about the temperature conditions in the variation pavilion, about magnetometers or support equipment maintenance or about works in and near the pavilions. As we accumulate the experience during the processing of old magnetic data, a “catalog” of noise and its typical images is formed. This makes it more reliable and efficient to identify and remove this noise from records.

Abstract:
Objective: Clinical experience suggests a growing prevalence of borderline personality disorder in aged residential care and psychiatric facilities with attendant difficulties in their management. This paper reviews the literature concerning the prevalence, phenomenology and diagnosis of borderline personality disorder in old age. The aim is to elucidate the phenomenological differences in old age and thus improve identification of the disorder. Methods: A systematic search was conducted using MEDLINE, PubMed, EMBASE and PsycINFO databases, employing the search terms including ‘personality disorder’, ‘borderline personality disorder’, ‘aged care’, ‘gerontology’, ‘geriatric psychiatry’ and ‘life span’. The search included articles in English involving participants 65+ years. Long-term prospective studies of borderline personality disorder, long-term follow-up studies and studies involving older adults from 50+ years were also examined. Results: There is a paucity of literature on borderline personality disorder in the elderly. No diagnostic or rating instruments have been developed for borderline personality disorder in the elderly. The phenomenology of borderline personality disorder in the aged population differs in several respects from that seen in younger adults, causing some of the difficulties in reaching a diagnosis. Escalations of symptoms and maladaptive behaviours usually occur when the diagnosis of borderline personality disorder is either not made or delayed. Improved identification of borderline personality disorder in older patients, together with staff education concerning the phenomenology, aetiology and management of these patients, is urgently needed. Conclusion: Diagnostic instruments for borderline personality disorder in the elderly need to be developed. In the interim, suggestions are offered concerning patient symptoms and behaviours that could trigger psychiatric assessment and advice concerning management. A screening tool is proposed to assist in the timely diagnosis of borderline personality disorder in older people. Timely identification of these patients is needed so that they can receive the skilled help, understanding and treatment needed to alleviate suffering in the twilight of their lives.

AbstractAbout 40% of potential OH / IR stars, color selected from the IRAS Point Source Catalog, have no 1612 MHz masers. While these objects are rarely carbon rich, they are usually associated with circumstellar shells. The natural explanation for these “OH / IR star color mimics” is that they are systems with a degenerate companion collecting an accretion disk from a red giant wind. This provides them with an extra source of UV for dissociating their molecules. The persistent absence of the usual complement of masers from an O-rich shell is then a pointer to the presence of a degenerate companion. These occur in association with ~45% of old giant stars.

In this article, we take stock of the institutional logics perspective and highlight opportunities for new scholarship. While we celebrate the growth and generativity of the literature on institutional logics, we also note that there has been a troubling tendency in recent work to use logics as analytical tools, feeding disquiet about reification and reductionism. Seeding a broader scholarly agenda that addresses such weaknesses in the literature, we highlight nascent efforts that aim to more systematically understand institutional logics as complex, dynamic phenomena in their own right. In doing so, we argue for more research that probes how logics cohere and endure by unpacking the role of values, the centrality of practice, and the governance dynamics of institutional logics and their orders. Furthermore, we encourage bridging the study of institutional logics with various literatures, including ethnomethodology, phenomenology, professions, elites, world society, and the old institutionalism, to enhance progress in these directions.

The gate is an important component of Peranakan houses in Lasem. They are included in the cultural heritage of Indonesia, and most of them are more than a hundred years old, but still stand firm and lined up neatly adorning the Pecinan area. The purpose of this paper is to provide a different perspective on the existence of the Peranakan houses’ gates that interpreted through the author’s experiences during the fieldwork. The gate embodiment gives a different atmosphere and experience which is not found elsewhere because they are unique and irreplaceable. Unfortunately, preserving these gates become a serious challenge in the modern era. The finding comes from the phenomenon which found after the field research and analyzed using the phenomenology approach of Merleau Ponty, Juhani Pallasmaa, and Steven Holl. Phenomenology allows people to express their existence through architecture and let its value appear to people as they experience it. The result showed that experiences would give the people have an attachment to the place unconsciously.

The research aimed at examining ways by which Madurese women could achieve satisfaction in early marriage. Its used a qualitative research method with an interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA). To understand the meaning of one’s experience by looking for themes from available data, IPA rested on three pillars, namely phenomenology, hermeneutics, and idiography. The researchers used semi-structured interviews to collect data and purposive homogeneous sampling. The participants involved were three married women under 18 years old who were living in Madura. The results of the research show that the three women are satisfied with their marriage. The satisfaction of their marriage can be seen from taking care of each other when sick, giving her enough money, and always happy with her husband, not far apart. Furthermore, Madurese women dissatisfaction in her marriage can be seen from anger if she is not given money and is not helped in doing household.

Abstract:
ABSTRACTKey questions in the psychiatric understanding of elderly people are the development of psychiatric morbidity, its phenomenology in old age, the differentiation between ‘normal’ and ‘pathological’ ageing, the interrelatedness of different types of mental disorders, their relation to somatic morbidity, and their consequences in daily life. Under the hypothesis of the de-differentiation of psychopathological features in old age, the relation between depression and dementia is studied. Contrary to most gerontopsychiatric research, the Berlin Aging Study (BASE) permits an analysis of these questions in a heterogeneous and primarily non-clinical community population. Initial data from the first 360 intake assessments and the first 156 intensively studied participants of BASE are presented. Results show that, even in very old individuals, depression and dementia still exhibit clearly distinctive psychopathological features. Prevalence rates in consecutive age groups show an age-related increase for dementia but not for depression. Nevertheless dementia and depression do not seem to be fully independent, because our data indicate a masking or extinction of depressive symptoms by dementia. Finally, both disorders have a similarly significant negative impact on independence, comparable to that of somatic morbidity.

Abstract:
Umtshakazi (singular) is a bride and abatshakazi (plural) are brides in isiXhosa language. The word is derived from the word ‘tsha’ which means new in isiXhosa. The word is popularly known as Makoti in other African languages, such as isiZulu. In short, a bride is a woman about to be married or newly married and thus a “new member” of the husband’s family. In a South African context, naming is not reserved for new-born children as there are circumstances whereby older people get new names. In Xhosa re-naming of abatshakazi, is a religious practice where name-givers bestow a name on a newlywed and then expect brides to live up to their newly acquired names. Like most things cultural, the brides have no choice but to accept the new name, embrace what the name entails and live up to the family’s expectations. Through the re-naming process the bride assumes a new identity which means taking the responsibility that comes with it. This article examines how such a process gives brides new roles to play; how brides make a conscious effort to live up to the name and how this changes their identity. This article is going to take a phenomenology stance. The phenomenology theory is a theoretical proposition which focuses on people’s perceptions of the world in which they live and what it means to them. It focuses on people’s lived experiences. This theory is essential in this article as the article focuses on the individual experiences of Xhosa abatshakazi in the naming process. Key Words: gender, culture, names, identity, marriage

Abstract:
ABSTRACTNutritious and enjoyable eating experiences are important for the health and wellbeing of older adults. Social gerontology has usefully engaged with the role of time in older adults’ eating lives, considering how routines and other temporal patterns shape experiences of food, meals and eating. Building on this foundation, the paper details one set of findings from qualitative doctoral research into older adults’ experiences of food, meals and eating. Informed by phenomenological ethnography, it engages with one of four dimensions of the human lifeworld – the temporal dimension. The research involved repeated in-depth interviews, walking interviews and observation with 21 participants aged 72–90 years, living in rural Tasmania, Australia. The temporal elements of older adults’ experiences are detailed in terms of the past, present and future. The findings show that older adults have vivid memories of eating in uncertain and austere times, and these experiences have informed their food values and behaviours into old age. In the present, older adults employ several strategies for living and eating well. Simultaneously, they are oriented towards their uncertain eating futures. These findings reveal the implicit meanings in older adults’ temporal experiences of food, meals and eating, highlighting the importance of understanding older adults’ lifeworlds, and their orientation towards the future, for developing effective responses to concerns about food and eating in this age group.

Astrometry is the oldest of the astronomical endeavors. Indeed, we still have the observing journals of Galileo, the journals of Flamsteed, and those of most of the other old transit-circle astronomers. We have most of the early photographic plates taken for the astrographic catalog project, and almost all the parallax plates. However, as technology progressed, we have become somewhat less precise in recording what we did. It is for this reason that this joint meeting was called: to impress on the modern astronomer that, in general, he only extracts a fraction of the information from his observations, and that these observational data may, in the future, provide an invaluable source needed for the progress of the science.

Abstract:
Following Rowland’s and Foucault’s respective observations that apocalypses are not necessarily temporal, and that historical analyses have diverted attention unduly from spatial phenomena, this paper examines Revelation using a spatial hermeneutic, comparing it to the semi-contemporaneous Parables of Enoch. Analyzing ostensibly similar spaces that are presented divergently, the paper focuses particular attention on “doorway” phenomena in Revelation. Recent research in cognitive psychology by Radvansky et al. suggests that passing through a doorway has a measurable cognitive effect, inducing forgetfulness of prior thoughts. Revelation employs doorway and gateway language repeatedly, while Parables of Enoch does not. The respective spatial emphases of Revelation and Parables suggest diverging engagements with a traumatized material world. References in Parables of Enoch to oppressive landowners and transformative goals for the earth suggest a continuing critical engagement with the material world. The lack of comparable language in Revelation suggests a comparatively more escapist perspective. Revelation combines polemic against all the “inhabitants of the earth”, an emphasis on the replacement of the old order, and the use of compensatory cultic language to orient the reader away from the existing material world. The parallel narrative employment of doorway language suggests an operative governing psychology of separation and forgetfulness in Revelation.

Abstract:
Context. In Gaia DR2, an unprecedented high level of precision has been reached at sub-milliarcsecond for astrometry and millimagnitudes for photometry. Using cluster members identified with the astrometry and photometry in Gaia DR2, we can obtain a reliable determination of cluster properties. However, because of the shortcomings of Gaia spectroscopic observations in dealing with densely crowded cluster regions, the RVs and metallicity values for cluster member stars from Gaia DR2 are still lacking. It is necessary to combine the Gaia data with the data from large spectroscopic surveys, such as LAMOST, APOGEE, GALAH, and Gaia-ESO. Aims. In this study our aim is to improve the cluster properties by combining the LAMOST spectra. In particular, we provide the list of cluster members with spectroscopic parameters as an add-value catalog in LAMOST DR5, which can be used to perform a detailed study for a better understanding of the stellar properties, by using their spectra and fundamental properties from the host cluster. Methods. We cross-matched the spectroscopic catalog in LAMOST DR5 with the identified cluster members in Cantat-Gaudin et al. (2018, A&A, 618, A93). We then used members with spectroscopic parameters to derive statistical properties of open clusters. Results. We obtained a list of 8811 members with spectroscopic parameters and a catalog of 295 cluster properties. The provided cluster properties include astrometric parameters, spectroscopic parameters, derived kinematic and orbital parameters, and isochrone fitting results. In addition, we study the radial and vertical metallicity gradient and age-metallicity relation with the compiled open clusters as tracers, finding slopes of −0.053 ± 0.004 dex kpc−1, −0.252 ± 0.039 dex kpc−1, and 0.022 ± 0.008 dex Gyr−1, respectively. The slopes of the metallicity distribution relation for young clusters (0.1 Gyr < Age < 2 Gyr) and the age-metallicity relation for clusters within 6 Gyr are both consistent with the literature results. In order to fully study the chemical evolution history in the disk, more spectroscopic observations for old and distant open clusters are needed for further investigation.

Abstract:
AbstractThis study was concerned with the clarification of the experience of pivotal moments in therapy. By pivotal moment is understood an event within the therapeutic process that leads to enduring change experienced as an important improvement in the life-experience of the client. Retrospective descriptions of a therapeutic process were obtained from three clients in which a distinguishable chain of events could be discerned that the clients identified as a pivotal moment. The descriptive material was analyzed according to the descriptive phenomenological psychological method developed by Amedeo Giorgi on the basis of the philosophical phenomenology of Husserl and Merleau-Ponty. The results show that the pivotal moment is experienced as a figural moment within the therapeutic process where a serious challenge to old assumptions takes place, necessitating a break from old cognitive, affective and behavioral patterns in a context of trust and safety within the therapeutic relationship.

Abstract:
The phenomenological paradigm in sociocultural research is the relay race of Husserl — Schütz — Luckmann and Berger. Despite the first difference between sociology and phenomenology, the emphasis on design, biography, historical context, subjectivity and experience only complement quantitative research with the necessary quality of humanism. Today, when technocratic line is becoming a leading trend, when people talk about neuro-turnaround in science and social practices, phenomenology must be given credit for its courage in sociocultural subjectivity and the actualization of the philosophy of consciousness. Scientometric absorption of the subject is a dangerous way of deflation of philosophy, its reduction to the functional support of the brain-machine interface. The sociocultural phenomenologist Peter Berger (1929–2017) died a year after the demise of his and co-author Thomas Luckmann. Last year there was also jubilee of the founder of phenomenology, Edmund Husserl, who turned 160 years old. The scientometric absorption of the subject is a dangerous way of deflation of philosophy, its reduction to the functional support of the brain-machine interface. The study of the heritage of P. Berger in this regard allows us to proceed to the efficient processing of Husserl’s ideas in the field of describing the valuesemantic world of society and culture. The author proceeds with the study of the model of the socio-cultural and anthropological world, constructed by Peter Ludwig Berger. The subject of the research is the theoretical framework of the phenomenology of society and culture. The main provisions of Berger’s sociocultural phenomenology are: 1) secularization has a heterogeneous porous structure, 2) under capitalism, transcendence is possible as a personal spiritual practice; 3) pluralism of social orders and globalization are the basis for restrained forecasts regarding the society of the future; 4) the clash of bureaucracy and the private is removed by the daily routine of meaning generation. Pursuing issues of the privatization of religion, the theory of modernization, the sociology of knowledge, Berger’s sociocultural phenomenology turns everyday life into a fascinating scientific quest. He easily moves from concrete to abstract and vice versa, but does not throw the reader into the abyss of lifeless ideas. At the same time, the sociologist makes it clear that he is ready to change his mind, he does not close us in a rigid configuration of ideas, yet places the reader in the bootstrap reality. Berger remained in phenomenological position, describing social structures in terms of construction, typification, collective understanding, legitimization of social memory, horizons of reality, habitualization of meanings, reification of meanings, objectification of the lifeworld of utopias. Main conclusions. The sociocultural phenomenology of P. Berger allows you to value-correlate the sacrifices made by capitalism and communism to build a social order. His phenomenology is the method of contextual correlation of different social worlds — science and religion, secular and transcendental, personal and collective. Bergerian sociocultural subjectivism opposes the reduction of philosophy to the information support of a technogenic society and the maintenance of science.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to Cyrillic handwritten books of the XIII–XIX centuries, created in the Romanian principalities, and stored today in the manuscript collections of the Russian State Library. The uniqueness of the writing system, functioning in the principalities (Wallachia, Moldavia, Transylvania) since their political formation, is that it was a Cyrillic script based on the old Slavic language with a predominant Roman-speaking population. In course of the writing system’ development in the principalities, there was a transition from the Slavic font to the Latin one; the intermediate result of this transition was the creation of monuments written in Romanian language with Cyrillic script. The main stages of this process are considered by reference to the specific examples of unique handwritten books and their fragments that have become objects for collecting by scientists, antiquaries, and Old Believers, whose book collections have formed the basis of the handwritten collections of the Russian State Library. They are the oldest Cyrillic manuscripts and their fragments dated to the XII–XIV centuries, found on the territory of Romania, Slavic manuscripts, produced mainly in monasteries of principalities in the XV–XVII centuries, translations of individual words into the Romanian language in the rewritten Slavic texts in the XVI century; the glosses and comments in Romanian on the margins of Slavic manuscripts in the XVI–XVIII centuries; numerous notes in the Romanian language in the manuscripts of the XVI–XVIII centuries, made by owners and readers; translations of literary monuments, including bilingual (Slavic–Romanian) and trilingual (Slavic–Latin–Romanian) versions in the XVI–XVIII centuries; Romanian–Slavic and Slavic–Romanian dictionaries in the XVII–XVIII centuries; letters and their copies in the Romanian language (sureties) in the XVI–XIX centuries. The article is an intermediate outcome of studying and describing Cyrillic Romanian handwritten books in the collections of the Russian State Library, which will result in the publication of a hard–copy catalog.

We discuss opportunities and challenges in identifying the missing M dwarf members of these moving groups. While rounding up the majority of the potential M dwarf members of these groups, such samples are significantly affected by co-moving field stars, both young and old, due to the heavy clumping of the local field population in velocity space.

We present results from an extended Spitzer/IRAC survey of M31 with total lengths of 6.6 and 4.4 degrees along the major and minor axes, respectively. The integrated surface brightness profile proves to be surprisingly difficult to trace in the outskirts of the galaxy, but we can also investigate the disk/halo transition via a star count profile, with careful correction for foreground and background contamination. Abstract:
The battle is not yet joined, and the poet has listed for us the array of warriors, of ships, of forces. “tell me now,” the poet of The Iliad has sung, in Richmond Lattimore's translation, “you Muses who have your homes on Olympos. / For you, who are goddesses, are there, and you know all things, / and we have heard only the rumor of it and know nothing. / Who then of those were the chief men and the lords of the Danaäns?” (2.484-88). Then the catalog: the list. In the Homeric tradition, a catalog unrolls under the guarding eye of the Muses, the witnesses, under the keeping and inspiring eye of divine and distant figures who have seen the scene, whose witnessing we imagine, from whom we borrow the faint authority we wear when we begin our own songs. These Homeric lists seem to us scattershot today—this ship here, that one there, a warrior next to another warrior simply on the grounds that, yes, there he stands. And yet to the extent that they turn on the authority of the fact, of a divine witness who reports this disorder and from whom we take the rumors of the fact, Homer's lists are at core structured, signed, legitimated. The Iliad is not only the story of the encounter between Trojans and Achaeans; it is also the story of the encounter between two phenomenologies—one envisioning orders of events, names on a list, as they present themselves to us, rumored, accidentally, contingently; another envisioning the order of what presents itself according to the signature of the presiding Muse, according to an immanent principle of structure derivable, if at all, from the totality of the list. These two encounters and these two phenomenologies don't line up; they're fought on different fields and at different levels; they have different scopes. One phenomenology is in principle endless—there's always another matter at hand; we cannot foreclose the possibility that another ship will appear; and the chaos of the battle always means that another figure, foe or friend, may step before us when we least expect it. The other is always bounded, limited on both sides by the immanent unfolding of its principle: that this or that friend or foe should have appeared makes manifest, sub specie aeternitatis, the reason for his, or her, appearing.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purposes of this paper are to investigate the effects of integrated advertising formats on the persuasion of children, children’s awareness of the persuasive intent of these formats and how this awareness mediates the level of persuasion. Design/methodology/approach – An one-factor between-subjects experiment was conducted among 117 boys from 8 to 12 years old. Findings – This study showed that boys were more aware of the persuasive intent of a non-integrated catalog than of a brand-integrated magazine. In addition, higher awareness of the persuasive intent of the catalog enhanced persuasion in boys. Research limitations/implications – This study only focused on boys’ responses and not on girls. Practical implications – Findings imply that advertisers could focus on non-integrated print advertising formats, such as catalogs, to promote positive product attitudes among boys. Catalogs are also a more ethical way of communicating to boys because boys are generally aware of catalogs’ persuasive intent. Social implications – This study implies that even if children have sufficient persuasion knowledge, they do not necessarily use it to critically evaluate advertising. Originality/value – This paper is the first to systematically test the differences in effects of brand-integrated magazines versus catalogs targeted toward children. Importantly, it shows that persuasion knowledge plays a fundamentally different role in the persuasion process of children than of adults: awareness of the persuasive intent of catalogs increases persuasion among boys, whereas previous studies among adults showed opposite results.

Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to understand the adversity quotient among startup founders in Yogyakarta. Phenomenology was the approach and analyzed by Miles and Huberman interactive model. The data collection method in this research was semi-structured interview. Respondents in this study consisted of three startup founders with these criteria: 1) aged 18-24 years old, 2) age of startup at least 1 year, 3) based in Yogyakarta, 4) willing to be interviewed. This study found two forms of adversity quotient on startup founders: 1) coping strategies and 2) characters. Coping strategies encompassed immediate problem solving, having goals and visions, taking lessons from problems, and finding solutions. While the characters consisted of concepts such as responsibility, learning from experience, having strong principles, persistence, and optimism.

Abstract:
The proposal of the present article is to analyze the approaches and estrangements among the presuppositions of the Religion’s Phenomenology (process of internal constitution of the religious phenomenon, its social function, and the plausibility of the religion in the post-modernity) and the message of a prophetic book of the Old Testament denominated Habacuc, that is about subjects that relate the religion with problems linked to the social injustice and the implant of the justice in its time. The relevance of this analysis meets in the fact that the religious phenomenon and the concepts of justice and social injustice are intimately related and they accompany the human beings from the first well-known civilizations to day.

Abstract:
AbstractComparison of galaxy flows with those predicted from the local galaxy distribution ended as an active field after two analyses came to vastly different conclusions 25 years ago, but that was due to faulty data. All the old results are therefore suspect. With new data collected in the last several years, the problem deserves another look. The goal is to explain the 640 km/s dipole anisotropy of the CMBR. For this we analyze the gravity field inferred from the enormous data set derived from the 2MASS collection of galaxies (Huchra et al. 2005), and compare it to the velocity field derived from the well calibrated SFI++ Tully-Fisher catalog (Springob et al. 2007). Using the “Inverse Method” to minimize Malmquist biases, within 10,000 km/s the gravity field is seen to predict the velocity field (Davis et al. 2011) to remarkable consistency. This is a beautiful demonstration of linear perturbation theory and is fully consistent with standard values of the cosmological variables.

Abstract:
During his life, the Rev. Dr. Orlando E. Costas made significant contributions to the literature of missiology and theology. Though he was only 45 years old at the time of his death, he personally authored over 100 books and articles, and made over thirty contributions (e.g., chapters, articles, prologues) to the books of other people from around the world. His own interests were varied, but centered mostly on mission, evangelism, and Latin America. This bibliography is an attempt to collect and record his writings, all in one place. It is offered as a tribute to his life and ministry. Wherever possible, searching aids have been included. Examples are the Library of Congress cataloguing numbers (for most of the books) and the Reigner Recording Library Catalog numbers (for the sound recordings at the Union Theological Seminary, Richmond, Virginia).

Abstract:
It is well known that the velocity dispersions of the stars in the solar neighbourhood increase with their ages (Wielen 1977). In Fig.1 we show |W| weighted velocity dispersions (cf. Wielen 1977) of the stars in the Third Catalog of Nearby Stars (Gliese and Jahreiß 1994). Open symbols indicate main sequence stars and crosses indicate McCormick stars, a kinematically unbiased subset of the CNS3, respectively, whereas the filled symbols are the Edvardsson et al. (1993) data. Stars older than 14 Gyr are not shown because they are probably thick disk stars (Freeman 1991). We have assumed a maximum age of the old thin disk stars of 12 Gyr as suggested by the Edvardsson et al. data. As can be seen from Fig.1 both data sets fit ideally together. The solid line indicates a σ ∝ τ1/2 law.

Abstract:
The article discusses the ideas of famous religious scholars, the founders of religious studies P. D Chantepie de la Saussaye and C. Tiele. Their work may serve as an illustration of the process of separation of religious studies from theology. Despite the fact that both Tiele and Saussaye were graduates of theological departments, they were one of the most radical advocates for the separation of religious studies from theology. Both Saussaye and Tiele advocated the creation of a new way of studying of religion based on the principles of comparative analysis and the idea of equality of religions. At the same time, their religious projects implicitly contain the legacy of the theological worldview - the anti-reductionism they postulate as the basis for understanding and studying religion. Chantepie de la Saussaye believed that the project of the studying religion should help to translate Christian ideas into the languages of other cultures and religions. Saussaye not only introduced the phrase “the phenomenology of religion” into the history of thought, but also outlined the main prospects for its future development: the isolation of religious phenomena, anti-reductionism, the question of the center of religion. Tiele stressed the importance of a comparative analysis of various religions, based on this method, he sought to reform and transform the old theological guidelines.

Abstract:
AbstractThe analysis explores the main arguments of Noam Chomsky’s short book, Media Control that also reprints the monograph “The Journalist from Mars: How the ‘War on Terror’ Should Be Reported.” The problematic is Aristotelian rhetoric and Enlightenment rationality (justice) in civic discourse (Lógos) as compared to the thematic of dialogic reasonableness (Eulógos). Chomsky’s assumption of, and critique of, “old rhetoric” [Aristotle’s rhētorikḗ] is followed by a discussion of Chiam Perelman’s “new rhetoric” [presocratic poiētikḗ / epideiktikos / gērys] and his “incarnate adherence” (giving voice to) concept of the Universal Audience as a function of Epideictic argumentation. This is also a critique of Stephen Toulman’s neo-Aristotelian model of rhetorical “warrant” and its connection to Charles S. Peirce’s normative semiotic of the “argument cycle.” Heidegger’s and Lakoff’s concept of discourse framing is associated with Michel Foucault’s rhetoric concept of an ethic of social discourse for the common good (parrhesia) in the age of Umberto Eco’s hyperreality media that displays Baudrillard’s simulacra, such as Donald Trump.

Abstract:
Objective: To analyze the meaning of dementia by those affected by it, and to give them a voice. Material and methods: Descriptive phenomenology through interviews with people of both genders who are over 50 years old and living in Tarragona (Spain), with a diagnosis of mild or moderate dementia, mainly related to Alzheimer’s disease. Results: Three main themes emerged: 1) normalization of memory loss in early stages as part of the natural aging process; 2) self-awareness of progressive memory decline, which is concealed from others, and 3) adaptation processes and strategies to coexist with their condition after diagnosis. Conclusions: The most evident features were the lack of specialized infrastructures within the health system in terms of care, prevention programs, and early detection.
