A series of ({[(quinolin-2-ylmethoxy)phenyl]sulfanyl}phenyl)acetic acids 2 and S-oxidized derivatives of {[(quinolin-2-ylmethoxy)phenyl]sulfanyl}benzoic acids 3 were prepared and their antileukotrienic and antiasthmatic activities evaluated. Optically pure amino acids were efficiently converted into 1,2-diamines that could be utilized to deliver the title 2,3-substituted piperazines in five steps with a high enantiomeric purity. The novel route facilitated, for the first time, the synthesis of 3-phenyl substituted-2-piperazine acetic acid esters that were difficult to achieve using other methods; however, in this case, the products underwent racemization.

Abstract:
The influence of new phenolic derivatives of pyrrolidine on the quality of native sturgeon sperm and on the fertility of eggs was assessed in comparison with the well-known antioxidant - ionol. The high efficiency of (L)-1-(2-((1-hydroxynaphthalen-2-yl)thio)acetyl)pyrrolidine-2-carboxylic acid was shown, the addition of this compound increases the time of forward movement of spermatozoa by 2.2 times relative to the control and an increase in the percentage of fertilization and hatching of prelarvae by about 1.5 times.
