Abstract:
Recent research challenges the interpretation of Walther's political Sprüchen as admonishing or rebuking verses directed at Philip of Swabia. Examination of the first two Sprüche of the second Philipps-Ton, the 'Alexander admonition' (L 16,36) and the 'spit roast' Spruch (L 17,11), shows Walther's intent to offer current political advice. The thematic context affords new insights into Wolfram's Walther quotations in 'Willehalm'. Jüngste Forschungsergebnisse stellen die Interpretation von Walthers politischen Sprüchen an Philipp von Schwaben als "Mahn- oder Scheltestrophen" in Frage. Die Unters

This passage forms the climax of the first part of Alexander's speech at Opis in which he described the achievements of Philip. In the next sentence Alexander began to compare ‘these achievements of my father’ with his own services. The first part is carefully structured. It begins with Philip's achievements in Upper Macedonia, which over many years had suffered from raids by its neighbours. It then proceeds to Thrace, Thessaly, Phocis, Athens-and- Thebes, and the Peloponnese. This sequence is not temporal, but geographical. Then comes the climax, the command against Persia which was entrusted

At the end of the nineteenth and in the early years of the twentieth century, encouraging violent criminals to write their life stories became an accepted tool of forensic medicine. The autobiographical texts which emerged became vital building blocks in the psychological diagnosis of the subject. One of the leading international exponents of this method was the Lyon-based professor Alexandre Lacassagne, who developed a science of criminal anthropology guided by the principles of heredity and phrenology (the idea that mental functions could be precisely located in specific parts of the brain).

It was a characteristic of Macedonian custom that a name was used in a special and in a general sense. For example, ‘Foot-Companions’ was the name of a Bodyguard of Philip and also of the men of the Phalanx-Brigades from Lower Macedonia, and ‘Hypaspists’ was the name of Infantry-Guardsmen of Alexander and also of the men of three Hypaspist Phalanx-Brigades. Geographical names were repeated: there were at least two regions and two cities called ‘Emathia’, two or three regions called ‘Doberus’, four cites called Philippi or Philippopolis, and Alexandrias galore. Abstract:
Background:Plasma Cells (PCs) are implicated in the pathogenesis of Systemic Lupus erythematosus (SLE) and their targeting proved a promising treatment modality. As there is a monoclonal therapeutic antibody targeting CD38 licensed for clinical use in multiple myeloma, plasma cell depletion via CD38 seems to represent a promising path in SLE treatment. While CD38 Is highly expressed on plasmacells, it is present on the surface of subsets of T and B lymphocytes as well as myeloid cells. Objectives:Here we aim to identify the differential expression of CD38 on peripheral blood leukocytes in SLE c
