Abstract:
Functionalization of polymer-based carbon (SCS-3) and silica gel (SG60) by phosphoric acid at 800°C was investigated. It was shown that heat treatment of carbon and silica gel in the presence of phosphoric acid at 800°C provides a way of functionalizing materials with phosphorus-containing surface groups. Functionalization of the finished carbon occurs as a surface reaction while destruction of the silica gel structure was observed. Functionalization with phosphoric acid creates new acid surface groups — phosphorus-containing and oxygen-containing in the case of carbon and only phosphorus-cont

Abstract:
Black phosphorus (BP) is a new two-dimensional material with many unique properties, such as great biocompatibility, excellent surface activity, high carrier mobility, and tunable bandgap. Black phosphorus has been particularly attractive in sensor. However, black phosphorus isolated by traditional methods is easily oxidized and degraded by air, with poor stability, which limits its application as sensors. The modification and functionalization of black phosphorus enhance the stability, sensitivity, selectivity and biocompatibility of its application in sensor. This review describes recent pro

Since its first reported exfoliation in 2014, the interest in black phosphorus has grown dramatically. The direct band gap, the high carrier mobility and the large specific surface area of BP open up great opportunities in different topical sectors of physics and chemistry including catalysis. As each phosphorus atom in BP has an sp3 hybridization and is bearing a lone-pair, an effective approach to surface modification could encompass the coordination of transition metal fragments. Among available strategies, radical C—H functionalization via hydrogen-atom transfer (HAT) represents one of the most powerful approaches and allows a unique profile of reactivity and selectivity. In this review, copper-catalyzed C—H functionalizations via radicals are summarized, including C—H cyanation, arylation, alkynylation, fluoroalkylation, amination, and oxygenation. The emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria poses a critical public health issue worldwide, which demands the development of novel therapeutic agents as viable alternatives to antibiotics. The advent of nanoscience and technology offers the synthesis of several potential anti-microbial agents that are effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial strains. One such nanoscale material that fascinated researchers due to its unique optoelectronic properties is Quantum Dots (QDs).
