Abstract:
Generally cuprous oxide has higher photocatalytic activity in the visible region. It is widely applicable in the field of dye degradation. SrO/Cu2O nanocomposites were synthesized by sol-gel method and characterized using SEM, EDAX, AFM and particle size analyzer. SEM, EDAX, AFM and particle size analysis studies indicate that SrO/Cu2O composites are in nano-size range. The catalytic efficiency of nanocomposites was compared with commercial mixture of SrO/Cu2O photocatalyzed oxidation of diphenylamine (DPA) using UV light of wavelength 365 nm on SrO/Cu2O nanocomposites and SrO/Cu2O semiconduct

Abstract:
Silk fibroin in material formats provides robust mechanical properties, and thus is a promising protein for 3D printing inks for a range of applications, including tissue engineering, bioelectronics, and bio-optics. Among the various crosslinking mechanisms, photo-crosslinking is particularly useful for 3D printing with silk fibroin inks due to the rapid kinetics, tunable crosslinking dynamics, light-assisted shape control, and the option to use visible light as a biocompatible processing condition. Multiple photo-crosslinking approaches have been applied to native or chemically modified silk

Abstract:
The paper deals with the investigation of polymerization processes in acryl compositions which were developed first for stereolithography using a promising photo-initiating laser emission of a visible range. The processes of oxidizing polymerization of a photo-polymerizing composition at very low concentrations of an antioxidant [X] and a concentration of dissolved oxygen [O2] > 10-7 ÷ 10-8 mole/l are considered. It is shown that the appearance of an induction period is typical just of reactions passing in a closed system, and in an open one a reaction passes without an induction perio

In this paper, nine organic compounds based on the coumarin scaffold and different substituents were synthesized and used as high-performance photoinitiators for free radical photopolymerization (FRP) of meth(acrylate) functions under visible light irradiation using LED at 405 nm. In fact, these compounds showed a very high initiation capacity and very good polymerization profiles (both high rate of polymerization (Rp) and final conversion (FC)) using two and three-component photoinitiating systems based on coum/iodonium salt (0.1%/1% w/w) and coum/iodonium salt/amine (0.1%/1%/1% w/w/w), respe

Abstract:
The application of coating polymers to building materials is a simple and cheap way to preserve and protect surfaces from weathering phenomena. Due to its environmentally friendly character, waterborne coating is the most popular type of coating, and improving its performance is an important key of research. The study presents the results regarding the mechanical and photo-oxidation resistance of some water-based acrylic coatings containing SiO2 nanoparticles obtained by batch miniemulsion polymerization. Coating materials have been characterized in terms of hydrophobic/hydrophilic behavior, m

Novel 2-amino-4-methyl-6-phenyl-benzene-1,3-dicarbonitrile derivatives were proposed as photosensitizes of iodonium salt for a highly effective bimolecular photoinitiating system upon soft irradiation conditions under long-wave ultraviolet (UV-A) and visible light. Remarkably, these structures are highly versatile, allowing access to photoinitiating systems for the free-radical polymerization of acrylates, the cationic photopolymerization of epoxides, glycidyl, and vinyl ethers, the synthesis of interpenetrated polymer networks (IPNs) and the thiol-ene photopolymerization processes.
