Full textHigh-order harmonic generation is a highly nonlinear laser-matter interaction process which allows the synthesis of sub-femtosecond pulses, also called attosecond (1 as = 10⁻¹⁸ s) pulses. My PhD is centered around the study of angular momentum transfer during this process, in order to control spatial and polarization features of the radiation which is emitted in the extreme ultraviolet. As for matter, the angular momentum of light can be divided into a spin component, associated with the beam’s polarization, and an orbital component, related to the shape of the wavefront. The control of high harmonics’ angular momentum requires generating schemes involving two crossing beams, thus creating a diffraction grating in the generating medium.We have shown that, although the transfer rules obey conservation laws of the angular momentum, the fine description of the phenomenon requires an accurate analysis of the laser field in the generation medium. This work opens the road for advanced shaping of attosecond pulses

Full textWave mixing in an inverted solid state laser material enables to record a population hologram that is both a gain and a refractive index hologram. This work first presents a detailed study of the electronic refractive index change that is due to a polarizability change of the ions when they are brought from the ground state to the excited state. A part of the effect comes from the presence of intense UV bands, an effect that is purely dispersive at the wavelength of the laser transition. We evaluated the non resonant polarisability changes of Nd3+ and Yb3+ ions in the main laser materials and we have studied the nature of the optical transitions at the origin of the observed refractive index variations. We then used these results to predict the potential of the laser materials in a non-degenerate two-wave mixing process for wavelengths in the vicinity of the laser transition. This model has been experimentally validated in a Nd3+:YAG crystal fiber. The study of the energy transfer from one beam to another is of great interest for applications such as phasing of N fiber lasers and self- adaptive interferometry. In addition, a diode-pumped self-adaptive laser resonator was realised and we obtained high energy per pulse. This laser gave rise to efficiencies that are quite comparable with those of conventional lasers with additional advantages such as good beam quality, single-frequency operation and self-triggering of the pulse

Full textThe study of the neutrino oscillation between its different flavours needs pure and very intense flux of energetic, well collimated neutrinos with a well determined energy spectrum. So, a dedicated machine seems necessary nowadays. Among the different concepts of neutrino facilities, the one which will be studied here, called Beta-Beams, lies on the neutrino production by beta decay of radioactive ions after their acceleration. More precisely, the thesis is focused on the study and the design of the race-track-shaped storage ring of the high energy ions. Its aim is to store the ions until decaying. After a brief description of the neutrino oscillation mechanism and a review of the different experiments, an introduction to the neutrino facility concept and more precisely to the Beta-Beams will be given. Then, the problematics linked to the Beta-Beams will be presented. After a description of the beam transport formalism, a first design and the optical properties of the ring will be then given. The effects of the misalignement and of the field errors in the dipoles have been studied. The dynamic aperture optimization is then realized. Handling of the decay losses or the energy collimation scheme will be developed. The off-momentum injection needed in presence of a circulating beam will be explained. Finally, the specific radiofrequency program needed by the beam merging will be presented

Full textThis work presents the implementation of the TPA laser beam testing to study the SEB phenomenon in silicon carbide Schottky diodes. The context of the study is described by a state of the art of SEB on Si and SiC MOSFETs and Diodes. Technological and structural study of SiC components has identified the benefits of SiC compared to conventional Si and permits to analyze the damage caused by the TPA beam. Using the experimental setup of the ATLAS platform dedicated specifically to test large gap materials has set up a test methodology on SiC Schottky diodes. The effectiveness of this methodology is demonstrated by obtaining original experimental results. Susceptibility to SEB induced by TPA laser technique has been demonstrated. SOA measurements were used to assess the robustness of SiC Schottky diodes to single event effects.An analytical modeling was conducted to understand the cause of the SEB mechanism and the location of defects induced by the TPA beam

Full textThe interaction between laser radiation and atomic system, can lead to various physical processes such as photoionization, multiphoton ionization, tunneling ionization, High Order Harmonic Generation ... The importance of each of these processes is in fact dependent on the intensity and frequency of the laser field. In this thesis, we describe the interaction of a laser field (Infrared and / or high frequencie) with hydrogen (arche-type of a system with one active electron). We first developed numerical methods for solving the time-dependant Schrödinger equation of time describing the hydrogen atom laser system. These methods allowed us to write a numerical code for the simulation of solutions of this equation. We then used, after the verification of the numerical convergence of our program to present the results on the single-photon photoionization on multiphoton ionization. We also concentrate on another phenomenon resulting from the ionization process, it is absorption of photons above the ionization threshold, named process ATI (above threshold ionization). Then, we will apply this numerical code to the photoionization hydrogen combining two photons, infrared (low frequency) and one of its harmonics (high frequency). Finally, a calculation of the angular distribution of the emitted electron was carried out numerically

Full textLa première question étudiée est de savoir si le revêtement universel d'une variété kählérienne lisse compacte avec un fibré tangent décomposé est un produit de deux variétés. A l'aide des familles couvrantes de courbes rationnelles nous montrons que certaines variétés avec un fibré tangent décomposé possèdent une structure d'espace fibré. Une étude systématique nous permet de donner une réponse affirmative à la question pour plusieurs classes de variétés.
La deuxième question étudiée est de savoir si la positivité d'un fibré en droites implique la positivité de l'image directe, par un morphisme projectif et plat, du fibré en droites adjoint. La réponse à cette question dépend de la positivité du fibré en droites et de ses liens avec la géométrie du morphisme considéré. Nous donnons une réponse positive à la question sous de faibles conditions géométriques.
