Abstract:
In today's modern era, archived documents have become crucial as supplements to reports and sources for evaluating work performance. However, many photocopy shops in the Balun Ijuk to Gabek Dua region still lack computerized systems. Consumers must physically visit and queue to receive services from printing and photocopying service providers. This research aims to address the inefficiencies in the printing and photocopying service industry by developing an information system that facilitates location and order processing. The software development methodology employs a waterfall approach, encompassing analysis, design, development, testing, and maintenance. The developed mobile application enables users to locate nearby shops, place orders, and make payments seamlessly. The results demonstrate that the application system enhances the operational efficiency of printing and photocopying services, ultimately saving time and costs for users. This study highlights the significance of utilizing technology to streamline business operations and elevate user experiences in the printing and photocopying service sector.

Abstract:
This paper analyses the legal implications of photocopying with regard to the Copyright Act of Canada. Under the law, photocopying is normally illegal, unless it amounts to « fair dealing ». However, this latter exception, at best ambiguous, does not provide a safe shelter under which some of the most common practices could be condoned. In fact, what falls in the scope of the « fair dealing » provision remains a most debatable matter. From these considerations stems the urgency of a change in the law. Parliament should insert a provision delineating in a practical way the sphere of lawful photocopying. On the other hand, copyright owners should be compensated for the use made of their works and collective mechanisms should be created for the recovery of such compensation.

Abstract:
碩士<br>國立臺灣海洋大學<br>電機工程學系<br>95<br>Technological advances have made photocopiers and photocopying services abundant and easily accessible to the general public. However, the convenience also has a darker side – it presents a great challenge to the protection of intellectual property right. Therefore, the main purpose of this research is to develop a process which applies embedded watermarks to deter photocopying of copyrighted material. The foundation of this research is a watermarking technique proposed by H. C. Wang, which uses hybrid halftone dots. This process uses two different forms of halftone dots to combine the document background and the watermarks. The formed watermarks are hidden in document shading and are invisible at normal reading distance due to the characteristics of human visual system. The watermarks can be revealed only after a photocopy of the document is produced. We experiment with halftone dots of various sizes to see how they affect the visibility of the revealed watermarks. We also applied four different patterns of watermark designs to music scores in order to determine the strength of visual interference. The assessment of visual interference is conducted in two different ways: one uses image fading value and the other by subjective human observation.

Abstract:
碩士<br>世新大學<br>圖文傳播暨數位出版學研究所(含碩專班)<br>99<br>The current development situation of digital printing industry is not good as we expected. There is a significant difference between the domestic and international digital printing industry. The focus of the digital printing industry falls into the big Taipei area. There is a need to investigate the major reasons of the barriers other than Taipei area. It will be one of the best ways to promote the digital printing in Taiwan.Copy industry will play the first-line role to serve the printing customer. Through the implementation of digital printing into printing industry, copy and printing will no longer have distance in them. The study was mainly focused on the owners of the copy shops and the sales supervisors of the equipment suppliers in Taichung city. We did the thorough interview with them and the literature review to get the first-hand information. It covered the analysis of the international and domestic business models in digital printing, the service of the digital printing applications, and the needs of consumers. Certain internal and external problems in the digital printing industry were analyzed. It was also to provide the possible solution for the digital printing industry to face their difficulties and the future plans. Copy shops in Taichung do have certain degrees of knowledge in digital printing. The challenges of these small-size copy shops are the investment on the equipment, the market scale of the digital printing, and the strong uncertainty of the future business. Furthermore, the combined-printing printers enter the short-run printing business is another critical problem to limit the development of digital printing.Technology and environment protection are the main stream in the short-run printing business of the digital printing industry. Digital workflow, innovated printing products and high quality printing service will be the weapon in the digital printing of the copy industry.

Abstract:
碩士<br>高苑科技大學<br>土木工程研究所<br>97<br>The convenience and low prices of photocopy center often lead to the open of many photocopy centers near universities. The past studies had already point out that the operation of a printer will cause air pollution which is harmful to human beings. This study chooses two photocopy centers, one with an open business area while the other area closed. We runs investigation and assessment on indoor air quality, such as volatile organic compounds sampling project (VOCs), suspended particles (PM10, PM2.5), ozone (O3), carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO2) and so on. The analysis results has shown that although the open area of business has good ventilation but is vulnerable to air pollution while the closed area of business has indoor air-conditioning system but is often lack of ventilation, this will cause the concentration of indoor air pollution rises as time increases. Take carbon dioxide as an example, the initial monitoring data is 400ppm, than the carbon dioxide increases 10 ~ 20 ppm every 10 minutes as the time goes by. Eight hours later, the accumulation of concentration can be as high as 800 ~ 1000ppm, close to the proposed EPA standard. This study uses lighting and air-conditioning as a main energy-saving project in photocopy centers, the study brings up the power consumption analysis in lighting and air-conditioning and provide specific recommendation to improve the energy-saving carbon reduction in lighting and air-conditioning in photocopy centers.

Because a number of factors, for example, can not buy the book, feel like to economize the use of the cost, copy shops hopes as possible as they can maximization of profit, government does not have enough copyright act oversight mechanisms and so on. Most importantly, the provisions of fair use not concrete but abstract. The whys and the wherefores of fair use not concrete but abstract, it will bring about a great deal of ethical controversy related from photocopying books. In this thesis, the author would like to investigate variables related to corporate ethics how work upon social problem, especially photocopying books in copy shops. The results are as follows: First, copy shop value and decision from photocopying books: This study provides an example presenting that transparency and competitive strategy does lead to social problems. Second, copy shops value and decision from photocopying books: This study gives an example to indicate that moral (Anti-piracy atmosphere) does not cause social problems. Third, copy shop value and decision from photocopying books: This study gives an example to show that transparency and competitive strategy do not match corporate ethics. Fourth, copy shop value and decision from photocopying books: This study gives an example to indicate that moral (Anti-piracy atmosphere) corresponds with corporate ethics. Abstract:
This chapter analyzes the nuances of the copyright law book, such as translating a book into another language for academic use, adapting a famous book to make it more multicultural, or cheaply photocopying a book to give away to low-income families. Copyright exceptions are sometimes quite specific and clearly defined, while others are open-ended and subject to broad interpretation. It talks about the doctrine of “fair use” in America. Contrary to popular belief, the fact that something is widely done is no assurance that it is legally recognized as fair use. The chapter also provides a hypothetical situation in order to illustrate how the fair use doctrine might apply to a potential non-profit publishing project to address book hunger.

Abstract:
Abstract The growing presence of militant Islamic groups within the universities and the growing friction between them and the Christian students caused the latter to turn increasingly to the church for support. Previously, the Coptic university groupings known as Usar jami’ryah Qibt[yyah (Coptic university families) had led a fairly autonomous existence. They were created in the fifties by the Sunday School generation. Their founder, Dr. Shafik Abdal-Malik, had grounded them in Cairo’s faculty of medicine. He had encouraged the organization of Christian students there, for the purposes of excursions and collective prayers, but also for mutual aid in saving front seats in the crowded university lecture halls, assembling study groups for review before exams, and for photocopying and distributing learning materials. This kind of solidarity and this model of organization had then been transplanted to the other faculties and university towns, thanks to the efforts of the Sunday School generation.

Abstract:
Microwave chemistry involves the application of microwave radiation to chemical reactions and has played an important role in organic synthesis. Functional dyes are those with hi-tech applications and this chapter attempts to provide an overview of the recent developments in microwave-assisted synthesis of functional dyes. Emphasis has been paid to the microwave-assisted synthesis of dye molecules which are useful in hi-tech applications such as optoelectronics (dye-sensitized solar cells), photochromic materials, liquid crystal displays, newer emissive displays (organic-light emitting devices), electronic materials (organic semiconductors), imaging technologies (electrophotography viz., photocopying and laser printing), biomedical applications (fluorescent sensors and anticancer treatment such as photodynamic therapy). In this chapter, the advantages of microwaves as a source of energy for heating synthesis reactions have been demonstrated. The use of microwaves to functional dyes is a paradigm shift in dye chemistry. Until recently most academic laboratories did not practice this technique in the synthesis of such functional dyes but many reports are being appeared in the journals of high repute.

Abstract:
Chapter 6 outlines the erratic 1990s, which began with comics selling in their multimillions. These huge sales were inflated by speculation: consumers buying comics in the hope they would increase in value. By mid-decade the mainstream industry was crashing and Marvel declared bankruptcy, but during the boom there were signs of institutional change that would underpin graphic novel production in years to come. Popular writers and artists parlayed their reputational capital into personal projects, which might be released by imprints at the Big Two, by independent publishers, or by presses set up by creators (such as the company Image). One of the longest comics narratives in the period was The Sandman, written by Neil Gaiman, published by DC’s Vertigo imprint between 1989 and 1996 and reprinted in book editions after each chapter was completed in serialisation. Given the marketing hype at the start of the decade, the sense of an alternative comics movement defined against a superhero-oriented mainstream hardened, and alternative creators sought common ground with fanzine-makers; comics creator Daniel Clowes had particular affinities with the world of fanzines, or ‘zines’, and he depicted zinesters in his graphic novel Ghost World. Zines and minicomics were thriving in the 1990s thanks to DTP software and cheap and easy access to photocopying, and comics writers and artists frequently depicted alternative comics holding out against the mass-produced commodities of multinational corporations.

Eickel, Bianca, and Richard Perassi. "The evolution graphic-symbolic communication positioning of the Multilaser technological brand." In LINK 2021. Tuwhera Open Access, 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.24135/link2021.v2i1.97.

Full text
Abstract:
With the globalization process, the concept of technology is widespread in the construction of a more simplified society (Harvey, 2008). Over time, technology evolves and transforms, during this process, communication and culture follow the changes. Companies inserted in this sociocultural network seek to communicate with the consumer, and thus the positioning is irrefutable in this marketing process. If technology, communication, and culture change and transform over time, then brand positioning must also follow this movement (Sant'Anna, 1998). Advertising uses the word technology as a sales argument and to position the brand in the minds of consumers, however, there is confusion in the representation of graphic visuality in technology companies when it comes to giving imagery meaning to the technology itself. It is believed that part of it is given by the cultural, political, and tooling aspects available for these constructions, as well as, it is intended to study the possible cause of hypertrophy of the aesthetic function in communication products, a concept addressed by Perassi (2001) when elucidating a pathology of representations that mischaracterize the referential and advertising function. Based on this context, the theme of this proposal will describe the evolution process of the graphic-symbolic communication positioning of the Multilaser technological brand, and thus analyze the changes in positioning from the perspective of design. The chosen brand brings relevance to the study because it went through historical milestones in its business and communication structure, which will contribute to the descriptive analysis of its evolution. The company was founded in Brazil in 1987. It started operating in the printer and photocopying segment, recycling cartridges until 2003, after the company entered the computer, accessories, and cell phone line, and consequently changed its positioning and starts to compete with major players in the world technological market. It currently has 44 thousand points of sale in Brazil, and portfolio of 15 departments. The problem of the proposal takes into account a large amount of importation of technological products, and soon it is believed in the importation of communication, and design references. The study is justified by the need to assess the perception of confusion in graphic representation and hypertrophy of the aesthetic function in communication in the Brazilian technological segment. To achieve the result, a qualitative methodological approach will be used, aimed at the perception of meanings that are intrinsic in beliefs, values, and attitudes in human relationships. Therefore, so that the research objectives are achieved, the study will be divided into three stages of development: exploratory, bibliographical, and documentary. The discussions that take place in this proposal bring the relationship between communication and culture, visual communication as a form of brand positioning, as well as graphic advertising representation in communication from the perspective of design. The study will be limited to graphic products for advertising communication, which is expected to understand a look at the advancement of knowledge in visuality and graphic-symbolic positioning of Brazilian technology brands, as well as the role of professionals in the field of design.
