The article provides information about the phenomenon of polysemy, which is found among the somatic phraseological units of the Uzbek language. The research conducted in the world and Uzbek linguistics on somatic phraseological units is also considered. Also, with the help of examples, the issue of methodological branching in polysemous phraseological units, in which there is a somatic component, is revealed. Purpose of the Study: Research on the meaning structure of phraseological units representing the figurative richness of language has been central up to the present. The subject of the study is polysemantic phraseological units of Yakut and Kazakh that have not been specifically studied before.
Methodology: We analyzed Yakut phraseological units with four meanings and their equivalents in Kazakh. Po

The article is devoted to discussing transformed phraseological units based on the American government blog materials. The theoretic part of the work touches upon the question of terminology. The authors study the existing approaches to fixedness (stability, irregularity, occasional use, modifications) of phraseological units. We seek to analyze the modified variants of phraseological units, describe mechanisms of transformations, and provide their translations. Special attention is devoted to deviations of semantic stability within the structure of phraseological units and modifications that

The relevance of studying this group of phraseological units, which until now has not been the subject of a separate research in Russian Portuguese studies, is due to the fact that food, for natural reasons, is an important part of the cultural code of the people, the clue of which, in turn, is hidden in the national language. Somatismsare phraseological units containing body-related components. They play an important role in the semantic and cognitive development of language. This article studies how somatic components contribute to polysemy, analyzing their metaphorical, emotional, cognitive, and cultural aspects. Using theories from cognitive linguistics, including conceptual metaphor theory (Lakoff & Johnson, 1980), this study explains how somatisms develop polysemantic meanings in the Uzbek and English languages. This study explores the relationship between the ‘sense’ of the prepositions over, into and through and the combined ‘form’ of their preceding and following nouns, using the hypothesis that the co-occurring nouns can predict different senses of the prepositions. It uses concepts drawn from both corpus linguistics and cognitive linguistics, in particular drawing on theories of phraseology formulated by Sinclair and others and on theories of preposition meaning formulated by Langacker and Tyler. 1,366 instances of the use of the prepositions from the Ice-GB corpus were examined. The article discusses methods of data selection and analysis in the new lexicographic ‘Modern German Phraseology: German-Russian Corpus Dictionary’, currently being prepared for public release. Previously, when choosing lexical entries for a dictionary, lexicographers were guided mainly by their intuition, occasionally resorting to traditional methods of empirical data collection such as surveys and observation of the native speakers’ discourse. With the widespread availability of electronic corpora, an additional method has emerged which facilitates assessment and analysis of linguistic units
