Abstract:
Introduction. The article is devoted to the study of phraseological units with the component «horse» in German lanIntroduction. The article is devoted to the study of phraseological units with the component «horse» in the German language. The subject of the study is the structure of phraseological units, their semantic features acquired due to traditions, customs, and general cultural and national symbols of animal images. The aim of the research is the description of the structural-semantic features of phraseological units with component “horse”. Material and methods. The material for the study is phraseological dictionaries of the German language and electronic lexicographic sources. The aim of the research is to study the internal form of phraseological units, identified on the basis of interpretations of the meanings of the units in accordance with German monolingual dictionaries. The paper uses the method of component analysis, statistical method and descriptive method. Results and discussion. To determine the origin of the components under study, etymological dictionaries data were used. On the basis of the obtained data, thematic groups that reflect the connotative component of the meaning of phraseological units were formed. As a result of the description of the studied thematic groups’ composition, the productive structures and characteristic semantic features of the units were identified. The semantics of phraseological units was determined on the basis of data from monolingual phraseological dictionaries. The structural composition of phraseological units is considered: phraseological unities, phraseological expressions. Data from history, linguoculturology, semiotics, folklore, etc. were used in order to obtain reliable conclusions. The graphical results of the study are shown in the figures. Conclusion. The results of the research can be used in practical classes of the lexicology of the German language.

Abstract:
Background. Relevance is due to a certain level of undevelopment of many issues related to the human factor in the language. The development of this problematic seems promising for identifying the national and cultural characteristics of English and Uzbek phraseological units, which allows us to increase our vocabulary and, therefore, enrich our speech. This article examines the semantic-pragmatic and connotatively evaluative relations of phraseological units based on animal images in English and Uzbek languages. Zoonyms imply textual roles within a specific discourse and difference in values, stereotypes and behaviour patterns in national cultures. Methods. Studying nominations of a human with a zoonym component we used descriptive and analytical, comparative, linguistic and cultural methods and techniques. We used the contrastive method to identify phraseological units based on animal images in English and Uzbek languages

Abstract:
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the ethnocultural features of the functioning of Chinese phraseological units with zoomorphic components by describing their lingo cultural properties. The Chinese phraseological units with a zoomorphic component from the liuchu (六畜) group — six domestic animals, whose images occupy a special place in Chinese linguoculturology — were used as linguistic material. Methodology: In order to describe the internal form of zoomorphisms, the authors used the following methods: semantic identification, providing the possibility to identify individual phraseological meaning with the lexical structure; cognitive interpretation, which is involved in the "decoding" of cultural codes enclosed in phraseological units; The etymological approach is used to determine the primary sources of zoomorphisms, which are figurative dominants of the studied phraseological units. Main Findings: The authors found that zoonyms as animal names are anthropocentrically oriented and have connotative properties, acting as a means of secondary nomination, they represent an ethnospecific worldview. The authors determined that the ethno specific features of the considered phraseological units are due to the specificity of the linguistic system of the Chinese language, as well as the specifics of the influence of animals on the life of the Chinese ethnos. Applications: The collected empirical material can be used in classes in linguoculturology and intercultural communication; it can be used while writing textbooks, methodological manuals; to create thesauri, phraseological dictionaries, as well as to clarify the national-cultural specificity and functioning of zoononyms in the linguistic worldview. Novelty/Originality: The scientific novelty of the work is due to the insufficient study Chinese phraseological units with the zoonym component. The work makes a certain contribution to solving the problem of the functioning of zoononyms in phraseological units, in particular, the study made it possible to trace the influence of extralinguistic factors, such as geographical and biological, as well as globalization processes.

Abstract:
The article describes the results of an associative experiment conducted in 2017, which involved 235 respondents. The author identified stereotyped characteristics of animals in Dutch. On the one hand, the characteristics manifest themselves in free associations with the zoonym. On the other hand, they can be obtained from sustainable comparisons, e. g. "as stupid as a donkey". These comparisons are seen as a sort of phraseological constructions. The experiment had two parts. In the "free associations" part, the respondents had to give a spontaneous reaction on a zoonym as stimulus, while in the "phraseological" part they had to add a missing adjective in a sustainable comparison. The author also intended to reveal the connections between the stereotyped perception of animals reflected in free associations and phraseology. The phraseological part of the experiment resulted in a larger amount of answers than expected. A comparative analysis showed that the stereotyped perception coincided in phraseology and free associations. In addition, the stereotyped perception changes with time and can produce new phraseological units.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the study of French and Georgian phraseological units with animal names/zoonyms that represent emotional attitude of the speaker towards a person or a phenomenon. We decided to study this problem on the basis of phraseological units as phraseology is the sphere which reveals each culture’s ethnic and psychological peculiarities, their customs and traditions, reflects their world vision. The analysis revealed that each culture shows its attitude towards this or that phenomenon emotionally through phraseological units with zoonyms. Such kind of phraseological units intensify emotions and beautify the speech of the speakers. Besides behind each phraseological unit with zoonyms one can see customs, traditions, temperament of different cultures. In order to find similarities or differences between phraseological units of two unrelated languages, we have collected phraseological units with zoonyms and classified them into several groups. Using observational, descriptive, psycholinguistic and contrastive methods, we have found out seven types of zoonyms with evaluative connotations in French and nine types of zoonyms with evaluative connotations in Georgian. It seems that representatives of both cultures use phraseological units with zoonyms to show their emotions. The analysis also revealed that evaluative phraseological units with zoonyms mostly carry negative connotation in both languages.

Abstract:
The article provides a comparable analysis of phraseologisms with the zoonymic component in German and Ukrainian linguistic images of the world, which are closely related to national cultures, traditions, customs and religions. Representatives of the animal world become symbols of prototype imagery of strength, bravery, courage, loyalty, stubbornness, humility, guile, speed of movement, wisdom. It has been identified that zoonymic component in a phraseological unit has a pronounced national-cultural specificity, which determines its associative relations and allows to use these phraseologisms to characterize appearance, social status, interpersonal relationships, behavior, physical and emotional state, intelligence, attitude to work and character traits of a person. In this case, the negative characteristics in zoonyms outweigh the positive ones, which is explained by the fact that any language tends to more likely adopt negative deviation in meaning. Mythology, folklore, biblical and literary sources, historical events and facts have significant bearing on the choice of zoonyms in phraseological units of the languages compared. Names of animals in different languages can be related to not the same images and symbols, and the same animals can be a standard for ascribing different qualities and characteristics. Thus, phraseological units with zoonyms can cause difficulties in translation, since zoonimic image plays a crucial role in the formation of the individual meaning of the phraseological unit, performing both informative and imaginative-expressive function. Phraseological units with a zoonymic component can be translated using full equivalents, partial lexical and grammatical equivalents, selection of analogues, description, literal and overtonal translations.

Abstract:
The phraseological units (UFs) are part of the daily life of the speaker of any natural language, either through orality, or in its written form. Thus, it is expected that in the school, as an official teaching space, didactic materials, especially books, highlight the varied manifestations of phraseological units and their relevance to teaching and learning the mother tongue. In this sense, based on the choice of the books in the collection "Vontade de Saber PortuguÃs", in the 6th and 9th grade classes, and based on the theoretical discussions and practical directions available in Solano RodrÃguez (2007), OrtÃz Alvarez (2014), Martà Sanchez (2014), Kovecses (2010), Xatara (1998), Tagnin (2013) E Monteiro-Plantin (2012), we have analyzed the paths used by the manuals to develop the Phraseological Consciousness and, consequently, the Phraseological Competence of the students. Initially, we identify the occurrences of phraseological units in each series, in what way this UF is presented in the book, if there is reference or resumption of use of that UF, in what context it appears, what activities are proposed, what skills are related to its use, Which types have the greatest and least recurrence in manuals and what is the functionality in oral and / or written production activities. This description and, a posteriori, analysis relate to the processes of identification, acquisition and reproduction of the meanings and formal structures of phraseological units. For this process to be satisfactory, we emphasize the comprehension of the written and spoken registers regarding the categorization, systematization and analysis of the vast lexical and semantic field that involves the phraseological units. In this paper we also intend to elaborate and recommend proposals for the application of activities with the UFs in interactive contexts of language use, not related to the school environment, but to cross the boundaries of the school environment. In the final part, we presented 4 teaching proposals so that said work with the phraseological units was developed in the schools, and for the teacher to have access to another pedagogical tool.

Abstract:
Материал исследования составили 93 фразеологизма (их них 50 английских и 43 русских) из таких источников, как книга «350 Idioms with Their Origin, or The Idiomatic Cake You Can Eat and Have It Too» Л. Ф.
The work is dedicated to identifying the similarities and differences in the expression of basic emotions (joy, fear, embarrassment/discomfort) in the English and Russian linguocultures. The research material consisted of 93 phraseological units (of which 50 are English and 43 are Russian) from sources such as the book “350 Idioms with Their Origin, or The Idiomatic Cake You Can Eat and Have It Too” by L. F. Shitova, a short Russian-English phraseological dictionary by V. V. Gurevich, as well as such websites as “Idioms in five languages”, “The world of phraseological units”, “My proverbs”, “The Idioms”, “Idioms online”, “Eslcafe” and “Native English”. The first chapter deals with theoretical issues and concepts such as emotion, basic emotion, emotion linguistics, concept, semantic primitives, and considers various classifications of basic emotions. In the second chapter, a comparative analysis of basic emotions is carried out on the material of somatic phraseological units of two linguistic cultures. For the analysis of phraseological units, a number of classifications were used, including V.V. Vinogradov's categorization which divides phraseological units into three categories: phraseological adhesions, phraseological unity and phraseological combinations; categorization from the point of view of types of interlanguage equivalence by V.S. Vinogradov. To analyze basic emotions, the meanings of emotives were considered using the frame approach of A. Wierzbicka, as well as the interpretation of words according to the Big Dictionary of D. N. Ushakov and Cambridge English Corpus. For each of the parameters, comparative quantitative observations are presented in the form of diagrams and tables. The research results can be used in lexicographic practice, for example, to expand the explanatory dictionary of emotive vocabulary due to the revealed national specifics of the linguistic image of the emotions of the Russian and the English speakers. The appendix contains a list of the Russian and English somatic phraseological units used in the work.

The main aim of this work is investigate Portuguese phonological units in contact with the Guajajára (Tupi-Guarani), native language of the Cachoeira village indigenous community, with the purpose of contributing to the description of the phraseological units that are spoken in Portuguese by non-native speakers Native speakers of that language. In addition to this general objective, in our research we present other more specific ones: a) To initiate the constitution of a database of Portuguese spoken as a second language; B) Identify phraseological units in Portuguese in the guajajára language; C) To carry out a survey, in phraseological dictionaries and in works on Portuguese speaking words, with the purpose of verifying the dictionalization of the phraseological units collected in the indigenous speech; D) To contribute to the cultural preservation and documentation of the use of Portuguese phraseological units, in the speaking of the guajajáras. To do so, we perform three stages of field research. The research site was the city of Barra do Corda (MA), in the Cana Brava indigenous land, with Indians living in the village Cachoeira. Data were collected locally, through the collection of personal oral narratives, obtained from a sample of 10 informants. The work is justified by the lack of scientific research on Portuguese phraseological units in contact with the indigenous language and the importance of investigating the phraseologies present in the lexicon of Portuguese as a second language. We call ourselves a theoretical-methodological support in Labov (2008); Tarallo (2001) and Calvet (2002); Biderman (2001); Vilela (1979); Rodrigues (1986); Montoro del Arco (2006), Corpas Pastor (1996) and Salah Mejri (2012). With the realization of the research, we believe that we have achieved the objectives we have proposed and will contribute to the description of Portuguese spoken in indigenous areas.

In this sense, based on the choice of the books in the collection "Vontade de Saber Português", in the 6th and 9th grade classes, and based on the theoretical discussions and practical directions available in Solano Rodríguez (2007), Ortíz Alvarez (2014), Martí Sanchez (2014), Kovecses (2010), Xatara (1998), Tagnin (2013) E Monteiro-Plantin (2012), we have analyzed the paths used by the manuals to develop the Phraseological Consciousness and, consequently, the Phraseological Competence of the students.

Abstract:
Magistro darbe "Frazeologizmai lietuvių prozos autorių tekstuose ir žodynuose" analizuojami 14 lietuvių autorių 35 – prozos, eseistikos, kritikos – tekstų, kuriuose užfiksuoti 1074 frazeologizmai (3005 jų pavartojimo atvejai). Šio darbo tikslas – nustatyti, kokie frazeologizmų tipai vyrauja lietuvių autorių tekstuose, aptarti jiems būdingus sisteminius požymius (polisemiją, sinonimiją, antonimiją, variantų įvairovę, dažnumą bei sudaromąją leksiką), tuo tikslu lyginant autorių vartojamus frazeologizmus su specializuotuose frazeologizmų žodynuose pateiktais duomenimis. Magistro darbe aptariama autorių frazeologizmų semantinė klasifikacija, jų funkcijos, analizuojami sintaksinės frazeologizmų sandaros tipai ir modeliai, apžvelgiama kilmė. Pateikiamose išvadose teigiama, kad frazeologizmai yra moderniosios prozos autorių kalbinės raiškos sudedamoji dalis, tačiau ji nesudaro specifinio grožinės literatūros frazeologijos posistemio.
Master of Art thesis deals with Phraseological units in Lithuanian prose authors’ texts and dictionaries. There have been analysed 35 prose, essayist, and critics texts written by 14 Lithuanian authors. In the texts, 1074 phraseological units have been found (3005 cases of their usage). This paper aims at identifying the types of phraseological units used in the texts by Lithuanian authors, discussing the most typical systematic features (polysemy, synonymy, antonymy, diversity of variants, frequency, and lexis). In order to achieve this aim, the phraseological units used by the authors have been compared with the data found in specialised phraseology dictionaries. In this paper, the semantic classification of phraseological units and their functions are described, the types and models of syntactic structures of phraseological units are analysed, and their origin is discussed. The conclusion shows that phraseological units are the part of language expression used by modern prose writers. However, this part does not compose a specific subsystem.

This work aims at analyzing the phraseology of the judicial discourse. The corpus has been built upon decisions pronounced by judges of the Federal Court in the State of Cearà in lawsuits filed in 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2005. Communicative Theory of Terminology has been chosen as the framework for this research, thus meaning that lexical, syntactic and discursive criteria were taken into account in the process of identifying and categorizing the phraseological units. For data analysis, two instruments have been employed: the software WordSmith Tools v. 4.0 and phraseological unit files, which were used for classifying the phrases according to their function in the texts. The results suggest that phraseology in judicial discourse is manifested by means of collocations, clauses and discursive formulas.

Abstract:
Verbal phraseological units are components of the natural language structure, studied by phraseology, which express a concept or an idea. These linguistic structures are multi-word lexical units, made up of one verb and one or more variables, having a meaning which cannot be predicted from the sum of the expression component meanings. In this PhD thesis we proposed a computational methodology for the semi-automatic identification of verbal phraseological units written in Mexican Spanish that aims to contribute in both, the linguistic and computational fields. We introduce unsupervised and supervised computational methods in order to identify and validate “candidate verbal phraseological units” in corpora of different genre. The contributions of this research work are mainly four: a) corpora manually annotated for verbal phraseological units and contexts associated, b) a lexicon in which it is estimated the probability of occurrence of such linguistic structures in a corpus of news genre, c) a number of hypotheses for the automatic validation and/or identification of verbal phraseological units in raw texts, and d) analysis of their polarity. The obtained results, including the hypotheses proposed in the PhD document, will have a future impact in different tasks such as machine translation, dictionaries construction, foreign language learning, among others

Abstract:
The influence of English is evident on languages worldwide. English is considered a global language of communication and is used by a large number of speakers worldwide for their interactions. It is clear that English dominates many aspects of daily life, such as technology, science, the media and the Internet. All the influences observed on the languages of the world that are due to the influence of English fall under the notion of Anglicisation, that covers all levels of linguistic analysis. In my dissertation I study the influence of English on Modern Greek (MG), which has been particularly strong during the last two to three decades. I aim to examine the phenomenon of Anglicisation in MG taking into account the English influence at all levels of linguistic analysis, focusing particularly on the lexical, phraseological and morphosyntactic level. In particular, I examine newly imported English loanwords, such as blóger < English blogger, phraseological patterns found in MG that are word-by-word translations of the equivalent English ones, such as trofí γia sképsi < English food for thought, as well as morphosyntactic structures that calque the equivalent structures of English, such as a new form of pre-modified NPs where the pre-modifier is an uninflected English loanword, as for example, pdf arxío < English pdf file, instead of arxío pdf ‘file pdf’. In order to analyze my data, I use dictionaries and grammars for MG, as well as MG text corpora, the Hellenic National Corpus, and the Corpus of Greek Texts, the text corpora available through the Sketch Engine platform, but also the customized text corpus that I built exclusively for my data through Sketch Engine. Regarding the newly imported English loanwords, I study the existence of the non-transliterated forms of these loanwords in MG and compare the frequency of appearance of the transliterated and non-transliterated forms (e.g. the non- transliterated form blogger instead of the transliterated <μπλόγκερ> [blóger]). Moreover, I investigate the factors responsible for the appearance and use of non-transliterated forms of the loanwords by examining their appearance in specialized vocabularies of MG, such as the vocabulary of sports and technology. Regarding the phraseological patterns and morphosyntactic structures that calque the equivalent English ones, I compare the frequency of appearance of the calqued structure in MG to the frequency of appearance of the equivalent MG structure. Furthermore, I try to determine the chronology of the insertion of English loanwords in MG, and finally, I draw some general conclusions, regarding Anglicisation in MG, based on the results of the research

Abstract:
The article presents the results of a structural and semantic analysis of zoonymic phraseological units of the English language. From the point of view of semantics, all phraseological units are divided into two large groups (with domestic and wild animals); methods of forming phraseological units with a zoonym component are analyzed. The article presents a semantic analysis of phraseological units with the most frequent nominees-zoonyms.

Abstract:
The purpose of the study is to correlate and compare the linguistic and cultural features of phraseological units with the component-zoonym in Russian, French and English. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that it presents a number of specific observations and conclusions made as a result of personal analysis, combining structural, semantic and cognitive elements, conducted on a specific material. The practical value of this study is that its results can be further used to study the issues of lexicology and stylistics of the three languages.

In this article we observe correlation terminology with phraseology. We describe a status of terminological units which are becoming generally accepted. As a result of consecutive natural language processes and under the impact of determinologization and despecialization lexical units with terminological meaning are used outside the terminological context. Such units form a secondary meaning which later obtains a phraseological one. Those lexemes remain terms and function as terms.
