Three surveys were carried out in May, August and December 2014 at 7 sampling location to determine species composition of fish fauna in the coastal waters of Quang Ngai province (the Central Vietnam). A total number of 178 species of fishes were identified belonging to 125 genera, 68 families and 13 orders. Analysis of community structure of fish fauna showed that Perciformes order was the most popular, making up 71.9%; Tetraodontiformes (8.4%); Pleuronectiformes (5.6%). Serranidae family was the most abundant with 14 species, making up 7.9% of the total number of species; Carangidae: 12 spec

Abstract:
The advantages of high temperature central receiver particle heating solar heat supply systems in concentrator solar power (CSP) have been recognized in recent years. The use of particulate as the collection medium provides two critical advantages: (1) Ordinary particulate minerals and products will allow higher collection temperatures approaching 1000°C compared with conventional molten salts, which are limited to around 650°C, and (2) the low cost high temperature particulate material can also be used as the storage medium in a highly cost effective thermal energy storage (TES) system. Abstract:
The knowledge of the pH and ionic strength dependence of kcat and Km for the hydrolysis of S2238 (HD-phe-pip-arg-pNA.2HC1) by alpha-thrombin is essential in determining optimal reaction conditions of residual enzyme in systems where also protease inhibitors and glycosaminoglycan catalysts play a role.We studied the kinetic behavior of S2238 in piperazine/glycylglycine/NaOH buffers from pH 6 to 11 and with a calculated ionic strength up to 0.7 M taking into account the pH-dependent concentration of the buffer species. The kinetic parameters of 60 Michaelis-Menten substrate functions were used f

The Shuaiba formation is one of the key contributors to production across the Middle East region including the Sultanate of Oman. However, the play was thought to be largely “creamed” – where the best prospects have been exploited in the concession area of Petroleum Development Oman. The remaining potential in areas of low relief was thought to be limited, with concerns around small volumes and early water breakthrough. However, advances in seismic, drilling and logging technologies coupled with new geological and petrophysical interpretations have boosted the outlook of Shuaiba across North O

Abstract:
Background to the topic- Penicilliumas a postharvest pathogen and producer of the mycotoxin PAT. Penicilliumspp. are destructive phytopathogens, capable of causing decay in many deciduous fruits, during postharvest handling and storage; and the resulting losses can amount to 10% of the stored produce and the accumulation of large amounts of the mycotoxinpatulin. The overall goal of this proposal is to identify critical host and pathogen factors that modulate P. expansummycotoxin genes and pathways which are required for PAT production and virulence. Our preliminary results indicated that gluco

Abstract:
The original objectives of this research project were to: (1) develop immunoassays, photometric sensors, and electrochemical sensors for real-time measurement of progesterone and estradiol in milk, (2) develop biosensors for measurement of caseins in milk, and (3) integrate and adapt these sensor technologies to create an automated electronic sensing system for operation in dairy parlors during milking. The overall direction of research was not changed, although the work was expanded to include other milk components such as urea and lactose. A second generation biosensor for on-line measuremen
