Abstract:
We investigate some basic physical properties of W gravities and W strings, using a free field realization. We argue that the configuration space of W gravities have global characteristics in addition to the Euler characteristic. We identify one such global quantity to be a "monopole" charge and show how this charge appears in the exponents. The free energy would then involve a "θ" parameter. Using a BRST procedure we find all the physical states of W3 and W4 gravities, and show that physical operators are nonsingular composites of the screening charge operators. We discuss some physical aspects of W gravities and W strings. We identify global characteristics in W gravities (in addition to the usual Euler characteristic) and show how the dependence of the partition function on the various chemical potentials involves these quantities. We find the operators which create physical states in W3 and W4 gravities and discuss their relationship with screening operators. W strings are discussed in the framework of a natural way of coupling “matter” to W gravity, and the issues of extra dimensions and critical dimensions are clarified. We find a remarkable rela

The fabrication of oil/water (O/W) emulsions in order to prepare the spray-dried encapsulated bioactive ostrich oil emulsions can be useful for increasing stability of commercial products. In this study, O/W emulsions were stabilized with mixed emulsifiers (Span and Tween) or soy lecithin. The effects of emulsifiers on the physical properties of emulsions containing ostrich oil were investigated. Results showed that the addition of a mixture of Span and Tween emulsifiers at concentrations between 5 and 15% w/w reduced the droplet size of the emulsions but did not decrease the zeta potential in

The preparation and characterization of biodegradable films based on starch-PVA-nanoclay by solvent casting are reported in this study. The films were prepared with a relation of 3:2 of starch:PVA and nanoclay (0.5, 1.0, and 1.5% w/v), and glycerol as plasticizer. The nanoclays before being incorporated in the filmogenic solution of starch-PVA were dispersed in two ways: by magnetic stirring and by sonication. The SEM results suggest that the sonication of nanoclay is necessary to reach a good dispersion along the polymeric matrix. FTIR results of films with 1.0 and 1.5% w/v of sonicated nanoc

Abstract:
Entanglement is a special correlation of the quantum states of two or more particles. It is also a useful resource enabling us to complete tasks that cannot be done by classical means. As a result, the transformation of entangled states of distant particles by local means arose as an important problem in quantum information theory. In this thesis, we first review some of the studies done on the entanglement transformations. We also develop the necessary and sufficient conditions for the deterministic transformation of W-type states.

Abstract The main characteristics of super duplex stainless steel tubes and pipes according to UNS S32760 (25Cr 7Ni 3.5Mo W N) with a PREN ≥ 40 are described. Physical properties, pitting and crevice corrosion resistance, and stress corrosion cracking behavior are compared with other alloys also likely to be used in chloride and sea water environments. The interest of the powder metallurgy route for manufacturing seamless tubes in this alloy is underlined.

Abstract:
Specialized classes of concrete, such as ultra-high-performance concrete, use volumes of silica fume in concrete that are higher than those in conventional concrete, resulting in increased water demand and mixing difficulty. This study considered the effects of eight different silica fumes in three dosages (10%, 20%, 30%) with three w/b (0.20, 0.30, 0.45) on rheological behavior as characterized by the Herschel-Bulkley model. Results indicated that the specific source of silica fume used, in addition to dosage and w/b, had a significant effect on the rheological behavior. As such, all silica f

Abstract:
This research was aimed to develop an active film from chitosan film incorporated with green tea extract to enhance antioxidant and antimicrobial properties in order to be used for food shelf life extension. The experiments were divided into 3 parts. Firstly, chitosan-based film preparation and modification were determined. The results suggested that the optimum chitosan films could be prepared from 2% chitosan in 1% acetic acid. However, the chitosan film was brittle and had low flexibility. Mechanical property of chitosan film was modified by adding different concentrations of glycerol, as a
