Abstract:
The objective of this study was to construct a finite element (FE) model of table tennis rubber (Sandwich rubber) with pimples structure, which can accurately estimate the rebound behavior of the ball at impact, and to investigate effects of its structure on ball rebound behavior. The sandwich rubber is composed of a combination of a rubber and foam layers. The FE model of the sandwich rubber was constructed with non-linearity, strain rate dependency, and energy absorption which were expressed based on the results of material tests. Impact analyses were conducted using the developed model of sandwich rubber and ball with different pimple heights. The simulation results of rebound behavior do not tend to be proportional to the pimple height. The trend of the rebound behavior was mainly affected by the amount of impulse during impact calculated using the horizontal component of the contact force which was varied with changes in pimple height.

Abstract:
The increasing prevalence of acne and pimples has increased the demand for natural and effective treatments. Herbal-based pimple and acne patches represent an innovative skincare approach, combining plant-derived ingredients' therapeutic benefits with modern patch technology. These patches are designed to target acne lesions, reduce inflammation, and promote faster healing without the harsh side effects often associated with conventional treatments. Common herbal ingredients used in these patches include tea tree oil, witch hazel, aloe vera, and calendula, which are known for their anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and skin-soothing properties. The patch’s design allows for the sustained delivery of these active ingredients directly to the affected area, minimizing irritation while ensuring targeted treatment. Furthermore, these patches offer a discreet, convenient, and non-invasive alternative to oral or topical acne treatments. This abstract explores the formulation, efficacy, and potential benefits of herbal pimple and acne patches, providing insight into their role in achieving clear, healthy skin.

Abstract:
Pimples can, when they appear, claim much more space in life than just the spots in the face. For the one who is badly affected, pimples become central for the way in which the person acts, feels and experiences the world. The many hours in front of the mirror is a socialisation into a stigmatised identity where the critical gaze of others and a feeling of shame are constantly present. The affected ones go to any length to take control over body, skin, face and looks. If different cures or heavy makeup is not enough, all kinds of body micro-practices are set to work: using one's hair or hands to cover up or avoiding bright lights. As an acne person one experiences the world through the pimples, sensitizing oneself to situations, norms and the cultural interpretations of others.

Abstract:
Maskne is a pimple that occurs as a result of using a mask with hot ingredients and using it for too long. Maskne is a new term that comes from the word mask plus acne. According to dermatologists, the continuous use of masks causes a build-up of bacteria and dirt that clogs the skin pores and triggers acne and other skin problems. The reason is, the skin area around the cheeks and chin does not get air circulation because it is covered by a mask. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization require the use of masks for all people around the world to prevent exposure to the Corona virus which causes COVID-19 infection. However, there are effects from using this mask in the form of pimples and other facial skin irritations. The Maskne triggered by infection of Propionylbacterium acnes which plays a role in irritation of the follicular epithelium and facilitates the occurrence of Maskne. Medical treatment is mostly done is by giving topical and oral antibiotics which are relatively more expensive and can cause side effects. As an alternative medicine in the community, dzariroh (Acorus calamus L.) can be used which has been scientifically proven to have antibacterial activity. Dzarirah is a type of plant that is mentioned in the hadith to treat the acne of the wife of Rasulullah SAW. The prophet's wives told that one day the Prophet met them. Rasulullah then saw among them a kind of pimple grew. Rasulullah then asked, "Do you have the perfume of dzarirah ?." They said they had. Rasulullah said, "Put your pimples on while reading a prayer, 'O Allah, who reduce the large and the small ones, reduce my acne'." The α and β asarone compounds are antimicrobial compounds that can inhibit the growth of P. acne bacteria. The results showed that dzarirah oil could inhibit the growth of Propionibacterium acnes bacteria at a concentration of 2.5% while killing at a concentration of 25%. Dzarirah oil is effective in inhibiting the growth of Propionibacterium acnes bacteria at a concentration of 2.5% and is a MIC (Minimum Inhibitory Concentration). Dzarirah oil is proven to be effective in killing Propionibacterium acnes bacteria at a concentration of 25% and is an MBC (Minimum Bactericidal Concentration).

Abstract:
Acne, also known as acne vulgaris (AV), is a long-term skin disease that occurs when hair follicles are clogged with dead skin cells and oil from the skin. It is characterized by blackheads or whiteheads, pimples, oily skin, and possible scarring. An intact stratum corneumand barrier, normal natural moisturizing factorand hyaluronic acid levels, normal Aquaporin-3 (AQP3) expression (localized at the basal lateral membranes of collecting duct cells in the kidney), and balancedsebum secretion are qualities of the skin that fall in the middle of the oily–dry spectrum. Patients rarely, if ever, complain about reduced sebum production, but elevated sebum production, yielding oily skin that can be a precursor to acne, is a common complaint. Several factors are known to influence sebum production. AV is mostly triggered by Propionibacterium acnes in adolescence, under the influence of normal circulating dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA). It is a very common skin disorder which can present with inflammatory and non-inflammatory lesions chiefly on the face but can also occur on the upper arms, trunk, and back. Age, in particular, has a significant and well-known impact, as sebum levels are usually low in childhood, rise in the middle-to-late teen years, and remain stable into the seventh and eighth decades until endogenous androgen synthesis dwindles. Sebum, the oily secretion of the sebaceous glands containing wax esters, sterol esters, cholesterol, di- and triglycerides, and squalene, imparts an oily quality to the skin and is wellknown to play an important role in acne development. Acne can’t be prevented or cured, but it can be treated effectively. The pimples and bumps heal slowly, and when one begins to go away, others seem to crop up. Depending on its severity, acne can cause emotional distress and scar the skin. Acne may cause scarring of the skin, but generally causes no long-term health problems. In self-body image, some parts of the body including face play an important role. Existence of even a minor lesion in this part may be unpleasant for the patient and seems large. This image can cause mental disorders including depression and anxiety, low self-esteem, and decrease in social relationships. However, high levels of anxiety and depression in patients with facial acne are not related to oxidative stress, according to a study published online in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology.

Abstract:
Production of defect-free galvanized steel sheet is considered a major concern for automotive and other critical applications; nevertheless, the occurrence of some defects in the coated sheets is unavoidable. In order to alleviate the problem, we need to know the extent to which the properties of a galvanized sheet are influenced by the presence of a given defect. In this investigation, specimens including any of the two major defects of continuously galvanized steel sheets were selected from a large number of coated samples. The defects, including furnace roll pimples and bare spots, were microstructurally characterized and their influence on corrosion behaviour and mechanical properties of the steel sheet was evaluated. Corrosion resistance was examined via standard salt spray test and Tafel polarization. Tensile test was employed as a measure of mechanical properties of the defective galvanized sheets. The results indicated that the presence of defects had little influence on the tensile properties of the samples, but considerably reduced their corrosion resistance. Based on the results of salt spray tests, pimples reduced corrosion resistance of galvanized sheets 23 % (50 hours) on average and bare spot defects caused reduction in corrosion resistance up to 39%.

Abstract:
Introduction: Acne vulgaris is a common dermatological complaint of sebaceous follicles. It mainly affects adolescents and can have a significant negative impact on their psychological functioning. Clinical manifestation is characterised by four types: open comedones, closed comedones, papules, pustules, and nodulocystic lesions. In Ayurvedic classics, it is described under Kshudra Roga as Yuvanpidika or Mukh-dusika, the eruptions like Salmali thorn on the face and upper trunk during adulthood, caused by vitiation of Kapha, Vata, and Rakta. Main clinical findings: In this case, a 14-year-old male patient came to the outdoor patient department (OPD) of Kaumarabhritya with complaints of pimples, burning sensation and mild pain on both cheeks and forehead. Diagnosis: The condition was diagnosed as Acne vulgaris (Ayurvedic diagnosis: Yuvanpidika or Mukh-dusika). Intervention: The patient was prescribed Kostha-shuddhi with Avipattikar Churna, followed by Shaman and Rasayana drugs in the sequence. Outcome: Complete relief was found in patient complaints. Pimples disappeared completely, and burning and pain were absent. Normal skin pigmentation is achieved with an increased glow on the skin. Conclusion: This article is an attempt to show the efficacy of Kostha-shuddhi and Rasayana drugs in the treatment of Yuvan Pidika.

Abstract:
This article presents experimental results of resistance against fracture upon static tension of cast aluminum matrix composites based on aluminum with various content of Al2O3 strengthening phase. The cast aluminum matrix composite materials were produced by the technology based on burnout of aluminum melt upon interaction with oxygen. Two batches of ingots with various content of solid phase were smelted for tests of static strength. The average particle size of strengthening phase of predominantly prismatic morphology was 60–80 μm, and their content varied from 15 to 25 %. The fracture surfaces obtained upon static uniaxial tension of the considered samples were studied on the samples destroyed at maximum stress. The fracture surfaces were analyzed using an optical microscope with expanded options due to improved long-focus system and digital processing of images based on unique procedure of 3D structure analysis. For indepth analysis of characteristic fracture region a scanning electron microscope was used equipped with energy and wavelength dispersive elemental analyzers. It was established in the studies that in the samples with lower content of dispersed phase, the fracture is characterized by mixed heterogeneous in terms of macrogeometry pattern. This can be interpreted as dry fibrous fracture with visible crystalline pimples and breakaways. With an increase in the solid phase, a mixed, sufficiently homogenous in terms of macrogeometry, fracture pattern of fanlike fibrous structure can be observed. Crystalline pimples were also detected of a different fracture surface area, as well as breakaways of other geometrical sizes. The features of changes in the relief of fracture surface and the fracture mechanisms of the obtained composites have been detected and described.

Abstract:
The antimicrobial activities of three medicinal plants (Senna alata L., Azadirachta indica A. Juss, and Aloe vera (L.) Burm.f.) against pimples causing bacterium Propionibacterium acnes was studied using disc diffusion method. Extracts from each plant were used on the bacterium at three different dosage concentrations (0.1 mL, 0.15 mL and 0.2 mL). Their Zone of inhibition was measured in millimeter (mm) and compared against a known synthetic standard (Gentamycin). Results indicate that the plants differ significantly in their activity against the studied microorganism. S. alata had the highest inhibitory effect of all the plants used (26.00 mm, 30.67 mm and 36.00 mm, for 0.1 mL, 0.15 mL and 0.2 mL dosage concentration, respectively). This was followed by A. indica with 9.33 mm, 15.67 mm and 16.67 mm zone of inhibition for 0.1 mL, 0.15 mL and 0.2 mL dosage concentration, respectively. A. vera had no effect (0.0 mm zone of inhibition) at 0.1 mL and 0.15 mL dosage concentrations, but at 2.0 mL dosage concentration, 4.0 mm zone of inhibition was achieved. Gentamycin showed zones of inhibition of 17.33 mm, 26.67 mm and 22.67 mm, for 0.1 mL, 0.15 mL and 0.2 mL dosage concentration, respectively. A comparison of all result obtained from the three plant extracts and gentamycin shows that S. alata have a significantly higher (p > 0.05) inhibitory effect against the pimples causing bacterium; Propionibacterium acnes than all the other treatments. The trend follows S. alata > Gentamycin > A. indica > A. vera, respectively, in terms of their inhibitory effect. Therefore, S. alata is more active and is the most appropriate plant to be used for treating of acne vulgaris among the three plant species selected for this experiment.

Abstract:
Because steel strips are covered with scales and water during hot-rolling, it is difficult to recognize the defects from images of hot-rolled strips through conventional methods. Principles and characteristics of fractal dimensions were studied, and computation of the fractal dimensions of the defect images with Peleg Covered Carpet is presented. Fractal dimensions of piecewise linearly transformed and smoothed images were used as features for classification of defects. These features were inputted to train the AdaBoost classifier. Experiments with samples of pimples, shells and scales from a real surface inspection system of hot-rolled strips showed that it is effective to recognized scales from other defects, and the total classification rate of this method is higher than 90%.
