Full textThe present work consists of the proposal of the Cultural Center located in the city of Pisco, which brings with it the fact of wanting to spread interest in the arts, music and the development of skills and talents that complement personal growth. Art and culture are an important part of a society and in most cases, it contributes to the improvement of the population as a community that contributes to the development of its territory. This province presents a large number of children and young people who need, in addition to a good education, the incentive to develop other skills that can guide them in their personal and professional development, an issue that is currently not resolved. After the Earthquake of 2007, there was a huge delay in its development, which resulted in the authorities having a greater focus on the housing system and neglecting educational, cultural and recreational issues including the recovery of public spaces. This project seeks to be a memory icon of the city, since, after the tragedy of 2007, much of the cultural heritage of this Historic Center was lost. Therefore, the proposal takes the architectural features of this place, in addition to accompanying it with the materiality of the site, color palette and vegetation, which enhances this emphasis on the project. Additionally, public spaces are given at different levels, which make the project richer and can be an important part not only of recreation, but also part of the daily intercultural education of the population.

Full textCurrently, small companies that produced Pisco are developing on a positive organizational and institutional environment. Theses companies receive support from the government and the particular institutions that moves into this environment. Despite of these companies doesn’t have a capacity to develop the value chain activities in an isolated form; they need to associate for getting advantage from purchasing in scale, having power of bargaining with suppliers and deliverers, and developing an aggressive marketing. The Association “Peru Pisco Export” is the first Peruvian association in developing a joint mark to benefit all its members. For that objective, this work analyzes a value supply chain of this association and the factors that enable or disable cooperation established between its members. A multiple case studies was developed with the association; three producers and employees of each entity that participated in this industry were interviewed. From this analyzes, was identified that a participation of the producers at the association makes get more power of bargaining with suppliers, get a exclusive distributor, and develop a joined marketing strategy. Moreover, was identificated the eneble factor of coopertaion, being o support that entites formais give to Pisco industry. Furthermore, the inhibitor factor of cooperation is a luck of clear targets at this industry. The results projected individual’ and association’ value chain..

Full textBaleen mysticetes traditionally comprise four living families and a fifth exclusively fossil family: the Cetotheriidae s. L. . New material (Piscobalaena nana and two new genera) from the Neogene Pisco Formation of Peru, yield new morphological data. Balaenopteridae have a peculiar feeding behaviour associated with some morphological characters of the skull and dentary. Six fossil taxa present similar morphologies. Thus they could be phylogenetically close to Balaenopteridae and could have used the same feeding behaviour. The cladistic analysis of 54 characters (skull, auditory area, dentary) of 25 taxa suggests that eight of the 15 studied Cetotheriidae s. L. Constitute a clade: the Cetotheriidae s. S. Its sister-group includes the extant taxa and five fossil taxa

Full textThe strategic plan proposed for the Peruvian pisco industry seeks to contribute to the development of the industry, boosting its growth and positioning in the international market. In this way, long-term objectives are focused on increasing profitability, boosting exports and promoting employment generation, thus contributing to the country's economic development. The pisco industry currently has weaknesses such as low product differentiation, high degree of informality, low technology and poor channels of distribution, but the strengths in the industry are quality and variety of products, that position it as a strong industry, with great opportunities for its development, which is influenced by external factors such as the growth of the consumption of alcoholic beverages, the increase in the purchasing power of the population and the new preferences for imported premium brands. In this regard, we propose that by 2028, Peru Will consolidate as the first pisco exporter in Latin America, positioning the Pisco Peru brand and reaching an export value of 27.7 million dollars, generating greater profitability, international sales growth and greater employment opportunities to contribute to the economic and sustainable progress of the country, based in the expansion of markets, products and new technologies that increase the productivity. Therefore, by the year 2028 the industry will reach a return (ROE) of 18%, sales in exports will increase due to the opening of new markets, which represent a volume of USD 27,700 million, and likewise, the industry will employ 3,684 people, which will contribute to the sustainability of the sector. After external and internal analysis, some strategies have been established to achieve the proposed vision, aligning these with long-term objectives, short-term objectives, as well as policies, structure and resources. All the analysis carried out shows that the Peruvian pisco industry can become a sector with high development potential

Full text*** This work evaluates the dynamics of the Pisco (Central Peru) tsunami, which took place on August 15th, 2007 in three phases: generation, propagation and inundation based on numerical modeling. The generation phase was studied using a heterogeneous seismic source model proposed by Jiménez et al., (2012) that has been validated in this thesis using the mareogram recorded by DART buoy No 32401. The correlation coefficient between theoretical and observed mareograms was 0.83 within the time window 40-80 minutes after the earthquake. Propagation and inundation phases have linear and nonlinear character respectively and are studied using the TUNAMI-N2 numerical model as a computational tool. The continuity and momentum equations are solved in discretized form. The results obtained have been validated with the DHN (2007) and Fritz et al., (2008) field survey with 0.9 correlation coefficient. The maximum inundation was 1 963 m obtained by the simulation for Caleta Lagunillas (south of the Paracas Peninsula). This result is very close to the finding of the field survey (2000 m). Synthetic tide gauge mareogram and arrival times were also obtained by the numerical model in regions where major cities were affected by the tsunami. The numerical simulation of the 2007 Pisco tsunami was successful, with a high correlation between numerical results and field survey information.

Full textAt present, pisco appears recurrently associated with the notion of Peruvianness, either through legislation, advertising, newspapers or festivities. However, during a large part of the 20th century, this product was characterized by a scarce production as well as a damaged image due to the expansion of adulterated pisco. This paper proposes that this change occurred between the period 1988 to 2017 thanks to the promotion made by state and private entities, which aimed to rebuild the image of pisco as a high quality national flag drink as well as expand its production and consumption. This process would be framed by the controversy between Chile and Peru over the Denomination of origin as well as the development of the gastronomic boom and the macroeconomic growth from 2000. From the specific case of the Peruvian pisco, we will reflect on how discourses are constructed on national identity today; who participate in these processes and what roles fulfil the consumption and the market in those.

Full textThe Thesis’s project has as main purpose to difund the knowledge of the Peruvian signature’s drink and to develop a winery of a premium level and quality as those designed in others parts of the world, creating high standard experiences to the visitors and in constant contact with the environment and nature. Furthermore, this project has the goal to enhance and add value to Pisco city, which even though it carries the name of the signature drink and to be placed on a privileged location with a new master plan that benefits tourism and located in a valley prepared for grape harvesting, is not considered as a city part of the pisco drink’s route. This thesis project looks forward to add extra value to the master plan of Pisco for 2021, supplemented with the proposal of Pisco’s coastal regeneration called “Yo Soy Pisco” developed by Espacio Expresion, generating a new tourism boom of premium quality in the city and serving as a headquarter for the development of exhibitions and fairs that empower, educate and gather pisco producers, oenologists, farmers, curious tourists and nature and pisco lovers.

Full textTourism and Culture are closely related. In the first on exist cultural factors that influence in the development of the tourism. At the same time, tourism is a cultural factor that propagates knowledge and interchange of experiences. Tourism satisfies completely of human needs. It is a permanent search about truth and knowledge. Tourist, does not only search sunny beaches and places of recreation or relax. He or she also wants to know, see and admire the different countries; their people; costumes; tradition; cultural artistical and historical heritage. In this way he or she feeds his or her own experience. Perú has many prehispanic cultural resources for attracting tourists. One of these ones is what we find inside Pisco river basin. Unfortunately these archaeological monuments are not managed in an adequate way and are being destroyed. I have always thought that these archaeological monuments have to be destined to one segment of tourists so they could understand how these old cultures have developed in their territories and what kind of societies they have created. Pisco river basin does not have good services to offer to tourists. It does not exist a plain field development of the zone. Especially nobody thinks to incorporate the complete area river Pisco basin in the development of a sustainable tourism. Tourism in Pisco river basin is only overused in the coast area, Paracas National Reserve. Its conservation is in really danger. This research wants to promote the tourism to the upper and middle Pisco river basin. I propose to create new touristic products: Cultural Centres and Tourism of museum character located in the district of Humay (Humay) and in the district of Huancano (Pámpano). These two places present favourable conditions for my purposes. Humay city is visited by the “Beatita de Humay” followers. Pámpano city has beautiful natural and cultural resources as microclimate; ecosystems; and special environment of mysticism; gastronomy and folklore. The area will also have locals that could be used for congress, workshops etc. At the same Pisco river basin will offer natural places where people will enjoy and learn there. My propose would order the space in the area and would improve the social and economical condition for their inhabitants. I also propose two new touristic circuits in the area. One, the visit to the archaeological monuments in Tambo Colorado (near Humay) and Huaytará (Huancavelica Department). These two places are well prepared for receiving people, the visit to the lakes located in the upper Pisco river basin. Pisco river basin towns have prehispanic archaeological monuments to offer to tourists. It is very important to help to develop unknown places for tourism. I am proposing to you Chongos and Maymi places. This integral touristc product includes all the cultural and environmental characteristics. For that reason the use at the same time of the natural and cultural resources of the Pisco river basin permits a development of sustainable tourism and the recovery of archaeological monuments of prehispanic times, that to day look so uncareful this study pretends to recover them and gives them the value that merit them. It adds services and improve the infrastructure of the region. The touristic destiny “Pisco river basin” offers to the tourists a great diversity of possibilities to enjoy themselves according to their preferences.

The main objective of this Strategic Plan for the Industry of Pisco and Rum is to contribute to the development of this industry to achieve profitability, generate employment and contribute to the economic development of the country. This industry presents problems as the low rate of productivity per hectare, which results in higher production costs compared to its regional competitors; but it also has great opportunities for its development as global consumption of alcoholic beverages by 2025 especially in Asia, Oceania and Eastern Europe, in addition to the growth of the global middle class in these regions. It aims to position the industry as a leader in South America in 2027, being recognized globally for its productivity, competitiveness and high profitability. The profitability of the industry will be 30%, currently it is 17%. Sales will be USD 1.4 billion, currently USD 77 million. The industry will employ 14,000 people, currently employing 620 direct jobs. Finally, after deep internal and external analysis, strategies have been established to achieve the vision proposed, in addition to the long-term objectives, short-term milestones as well as policies, structure and resources have been defined. Finally, in order to measure and control the achievement of milestones in the strategic plan, the Integral Scorecard was developed, taking into account the client's perspective, financial, internal processes and learning

Full textIs the province of Pisco currently a city? After the major earthquake of 2007, measuring 7.9 on Richter Scale, struck the province and caused serious damages to buildings; slightly start to reveal the deep rifts also created in the society. In other words, there were not only physical ruptures in the urban fabric of the city, but the social fabric was affected too. The social fabric, composed of the relationships that arise, day by day, among its inhabitants, was weakened until nowadays. Public spaces lost their borders and became in blurred spots over the map. Thus, in one fell swoop, the city lost vitality. Having no memories, activities and collective imaginations to offer their citizens decreased the quality of life of its citizens. Slowly, the empty physical spaces traduced into identity gaps within their people. Ten years later, many abandoned fields remain the same and important squares start losing their visitants. The axes of the urban center are still there awaiting to be renewal and re-inhabited. In this regard, the proposed project explores the synergy between the concepts learned about the development of urban centers and the Architecture, looking for recovering not only the physical areas but also the identity, collective memory and citizenship. A public living space named “Centro del Pisco” as urban activator, crowded with cultural and commercial interactions involving both local and foreign residents. In other words, a source of public memories

Full textThe district of Paracas, province of Pisco and Ica region is located on the west coast, south of the capital of Peru and is known for its warm climate and beautiful beaches, but especially for having in its territory the National Reserve of Paracas, one of the most important in the country. Currently, it has developed an important hotel activity thanks to tourism in the region, which will be boosted with the construction of the new port and airport in the city of Pisco. The objective of this thesis is to measure and analyze the index of social progress in the district of Paracas; for this purpose, the Social Progress Imperative - SPI model was used, by which the population situation was evaluated from the perspective of three dimensions: a) Basic human needs, b) Fundamentals of Welfare, and c) Opportunities; each of these dimensions divided into four components that in turn evaluate a total of 53 variables. To obtain the IPS of the district of Paracas, a representative sample of the population of 339 heads of family was determined and this sample was divided into three zones in which a survey was conducted. Within the methodological framework of this study it was determined that it would be non-experimental because it only seeks to generate an analysis of the current reality of the district of Paracas; In addition, it will have a descriptive scope, with a quantitative approach and a transversal analysis. The result obtained for the IPS of Paracas 2018 was 48.92, classifying it with a low level of progress, for which it is necessary to urgently implement district government policies that encourage the development and well-being of its inhabitants; This is why, at the end of this study, recommendations are provided that allow involving the authorities of the district, the private company and the population in a joint effort to change the current situation.

Full textSince Pisco is the “flag beverage”, it is fundamental that companies follow with demanding controls to manage quality, but above all with the innocuousness of the product. Therefore, the minimum these companies must follow are the national regulations that apply in the country, which considers GMP as a pillar and are constituted by the principles of the Codex Alimentarius. The research design is transectional, qualitative, and exploratory in order to identify what good practices are carried out in Pisco producing companies in Ica region. In order to achieve the objectives, an exhaustive investigation of the literature with subjects related to the good practices in the elaboration of the Pisco was carried out. It is important to note that the rules and procedures are still scarce in content in Peru, which is why foreign sources were also used. The research is based on a qualitative methodology, and as a data collection tool a semi-structured interview was used, being the method of sampling for convenience. Then the transcripts of the six companies interviewed were analyzed, the responses of the interview guide were also analyzed, and codes and product categories of good practices were identified. From the results of each question, it was compared with the proposed theoretical framework to obtain the information related to the objectives of the research. As a result of the research, some good practices have been identified in the elaboration of Pisco, where in order to achieve a positive impact in the sector, it is necessary to: (a) standardize how these good practices are performed so their results can be reproducible and (b) provide free advice and training by the State to wineries so that they can recognize the benefits of implementing these good practices (e.g., increase their competitiveness, enter new markets, among others).

The research is designed from a qualitative method, therefore the different characteristics of the graphic development in the presentation of Peruvian pisco will be evaluated and if this represents a value proposition to this product. The instrument used was the interview for the qualitative analysis and the elaboration of an own analysis sheet for the evaluation of the characteristics of the different presentations of Peruvian pisco, both to measure the respective study variables. As a final result, it was obtained that the graphic development in the presentation of Peruvian pisco was a conclusive factor to add a value proposition to this product, having as starting elements the identity of the pisco, the Peru Brand and its designation of origin; With this, there were also improvements in the economic income of these companies since this product reached better sales prices and therefore a better profit margin; but the determining factor of this was the contribution of graphic professionals for the development of the different presentations of Peruvian pisco.
