The characteristic features of the supporting structure are its topology, geometry and parameters of the elements. The process of creating a structure goes from the project to its material embodiment. The topology defines the contour of the load resistance, which finally manifests itself in the configuration and material. The fundamental beginning of the design project is the variational principle of structural synthesis with energy content. It provides a minimum consumption of material. Its fundamental distribution is made at the stage of topology design as a confrontation with an external fo

Reinforced concrete structures are exposed to a progression of activities all through their life expectancy which may be the purpose behind damage. Subsequently, rehabilitation of existing structures is typically performed either to restore structural limit because of decay or damage or to broaden existing structural limit due to expanded loads. To fortify existing structures, numerous new creative materials like progressed fiber-reinforced polymers (FRPs) are discovered to be acceptable substitute for reinforcing materials like steel. They are actualized to fortify the presentation of structu

Abstract:
Abstract Motivation Polyproline II (PPII) is a common conformation, comparable to α-helix and β-sheet. PPII, recently termed with a more generic name—κ-helix, adopts a left-handed structure with 3-fold rotational symmetry. Lately, a new type of binding mechanism—the helical lock and key model was introduced in SH3-domain complexes, where the interaction is characterized by a sliding helical pattern. However, whether this binding mechanism is unique only to SH3 domains is unreported. Results Here, we show that the helical binding pattern is a universal feature of the κ-helix conformation, prese

Abstract:
Crystallographic structural analysis is an essential method for the determination of protein structure. However, crystallization of a protein of interest is the most difficult process in the analysis. The process is often hampered during the sample preparation, including expression and purification. Even after a sample has been purified, not all candidate proteins crystallize. In this mini-review, the current methodologies used to overcome obstacles encountered during protein crystallization are sorted. Specifically, the strategy for an effective crystallization is compared with a pipeline whe

Abstract:
Reliability assessments are pivotal in evaluating system quality and have found extensive application in manufacturing. This research delves into a system comprising five components, one of which is a bridge network. The components are presumed to follow a Bilal lifetime distribution with a failure rate that changes over time. Four distinct methods are employed to enhance the components within the system. This study involves the computation of δ-fractiles and reliability equivalence factors (REFs). Additionally, a numerical case study is provided to elucidate the theoretical findings.

PIWI-interacting RNAs (piRNAs), a class of small non-coding RNAs (sncRNAs) with 24–32 nucleotides (nt), were initially identified in the reproductive system. Unlike microRNAs (miRNAs) or small interfering RNAs (siRNAs), piRNAs normally guide P-element-induced wimpy testis protein (PIWI) families to slice extensively complementary transposon transcripts without the seed pairing. Numerous studies have shown that piRNAs are abundantly expressed in the brain, and many of them are aberrantly regulated in central neural system (CNS) disorders. However, the role of piRNAs in the related developmental

Protein structure prediction is pivotal for understanding the structure-function relationship of proteins, advancing biological research, and facilitating pharmaceutical development and experimental design. While deep learning methods and the expanded availability of experimental 3D protein structures have accelerated structure prediction, the dynamic nature of protein structures has received limited attention. This study introduces an innovative 4D diffusion model incorporating molecular dynamics (MD) simulation data to learn dynamic protein structures. Our approach is distinguished by the fo
