A planer millimetre-wave dual-band bandpass filter with multitransmission zeros is proposed for 5G application. This filter includes two dual-mode open-loop resonators. The U-shape nonresonating node is employed to generate an extra coupling path. Finally, a dual-band bandpass filter with five transmission zeros is obtained. The filter is fabricated and measured. Good agreement between simulation and measurement is obtained.

We employ the frequentist perspective to shed new light on two robust estimation techniques; namely subsampling the data and rough path corrections. Therefore a prototype filter can match the spectrum of an object having a different size in some direction. Abstract:
A novel approach of building a large capacity optical correlator using VanderLugt’s matched spatial filter is introduced in which a tunable dye laser is used as the coherent light source and a rotatable diffraction grating is placed at the input object plane. While sequentially rotating the grating about the optical axis and tuning the wavelength of the dye laser, the input signal spectrum is scanned along trajectories of concentric circles at the Fourier plane. With this 2-D scanning approach, the number of matched filters that can be built at the Fourier plane is greatly increased due to the

Abstract:
A new approach to composite filter design is presented in which the filter is the weighted sum of training samples with the complex weights being of unit magnitude and linear phase. The LPCC filters are based on the fact that when the N training images are uniformly sampled in in-plane rotation, the resulting N×N correlation matrix (CM) is Toeplitz. The training set for out-of-plane rotation is chosen so that its CM most closely resembles the Ideal CM for in-plane rotation. The eigenvectors of the ideal CM are used to obtain the coefficients needed to generate the LPCC filters. The elements of

MOVEit, a widely used Robot Operating System framework, plans composite tasks, where the high-level sequence of actions is fixed and known in advance. However, these tasks need to be tailored and adapted to the environmental context. This framework uses custom trajectory planners, known as controllers, to solve goals that are fully defined within the configuration space. Libraries, such as the Open Motion Planning Library, provide a collection of motion planners that can solve task-space goals. In the first two phases of this project, the accuracy and reliability of both conventional and more advanced nondestructive inspection techniques were evaluated by way of a round-robin program of blind inspections The results indicate that there is much variability in the accuracy and reliability of discontinuity detection and sizing depending on details of the NDT procedures adopted, which includes specification of equipment, techniques, calibration methods, and reporting requirements. In Phase III, optimized procedures for sleeve fillet welds and a limited number of branch groove welds were

The objective of this program is to advance the state-of-the-art of electromagnetic induction transducer technology to demonstrate the ability to perform an ultrasonic inspection of steel pipes with sensors separated from the pipe wall by a large distance which may be filled with an irregular layer of tar or other corrosion preventing coating. Thus, a direct assessment of a pipeline's integrity can be achieved from a single ultrasonic sensor placed on top of a partially excavated pipeline while it is still covered with a thick tar coating.

Abstract:
Reinforced concrete structural slurry walls have been used in the United States since the early 1960s. The typical practice, and one that makes the economics of slurry walls particularly attractive, is to design the walls to act as both temporary excavation support and permanent basement walls. They often serve as multi-story basements and below grade parking for buildings, for tunnels, subway stations, and other buried structures. One of the early applications was for a foundation for a subway station in San Francisco, but for the most part they have been used more extensively in regions of l

The Montney Formation in Alberta and British Columbia, Canada is an early Triassic siltstone currently in an active diagenetic environment at depths greater than 1,000 m, but with maximum burial depths potentially exceeding 5,000 m (Ness, 2001). It has undergone multiple phases of burial and uplift and there is strong evidence for multiple generations of hydrocarbon maturation/migration. Understanding the origin and history of diagenetic fluids within these systems helps to unravel the chemical changes that have occurred since deposition. Abstract:
In Play It as It Lays by Joan Didion, we are presented with a character in the midst of a crisis of identity. Maria, a failed actress in Hollywood, is beset by many of the problems commonly associated with a rising star in the industry. A reliance on drugs, a commodification of the self, and a deteriorating sense of who she is all play into her downward spiral. Yet when we examine the reason that Maria lacks an actualized sense of self, the reader is presented with a paradox. If we take the words of French psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan to be true, then language serves to create a filter through
