Abstract:
Goal: is to analyze approaches to the formation of the term of an enterprise strategy and to identify key factors that affect the planning horizon. Methodology: is based on the analysis of scientific sources on the duration of the strategy and the observation of business practices in this direction through surveys of enterprises on approaches to the formation of a strategy and the actual implementation of planned indicators. Findings: of the study showed that the implementation of a strategy is often associated with a revision of its main provisions and early abandonment in favor of a new one. This practice indicates the actual rejection of long-term planning in favor of medium-term or rolling planning. The strategy implementation period differs from the canonical five-year one. Originality and contribution of the author: lie in specifying the time horizon for which the strategy is formed in modern conditions, as well as in updating the theoretical provisions that describe approaches to structuring such documents in companies, taking into account industry, corporate specifics, etc.

Abstract:
Modern society faces new challenges due to the development of technology, economy, level of consumption. The article deals with the legal aspects of counteraction to the strategy of unscrupulous manufacturers for deliberate programming of technical defects of the goods, leading to the need to replace it immediately at the end of the warranty period. This strategy has significant implications for public health, social and environmental security. The objectives of the work are studying the actual problems of planned obsolescence of products, the search for its essence, principles and features. The author identifies legislative and law enforcement practice formed by the European Union and different countries in this area. The analysis of law in other countries allows to state the tendency of shift of emphasis from private law methods of protection of consumer and social rights to public law methods, to wider use of a number of coercive instruments. Rethinking the balance of private, public and public interests led to the author’s proposal to develop a holistic concept of legal regulation of civil law relations. As a result of the article, the directions for improving various branches of law in order to counteract the planned obsolescence of goods are proposed.

Full text
Abstract:
This paper proposes a new kind of cyber-security system, named Botnet Defense System (BDS), which defends an Internet of Things (IoT) system against malicious botnets. The concept of BDS is “Fight fire with fire”. The distinguishing feature is that it uses white-hat botnets to fight malicious botnets. A BDS consists of four components: Monitor, Strategy Planner, Launcher, and Command and Control (C&C) server. The Monitor component watches over a target IoT system. If the component detects a malicious botnet, the Strategy Planner component makes a strategy against the botnet. Based on the planned strategy, the Launcher component sends white-hat worms into the IoT system and constructs a white-hat botnet. The C&C server component commands and controls the white-hat botnet to exterminate the malicious botnet. Strategy studies are essential to produce intended results. We proposed three basic strategies to launch white-hat worms: All-Out, Few-Elite, and Environment-Adaptive. We evaluated BDS and the proposed strategies through the simulation of agent-oriented Petri net model representing the battle between Mirai botnets and the white-hat botnets. This result shows that the Environment-Adaptive strategy is the best and reduced the number of needed white-hat worms to 38.5% almost without changing the extermination rate for Mirai bots.

Abstract:
For sparse overlay network built by static sensor nodes, this paper proposes the introduction of heterogeneous mobile sensor nodes, and designs a mobile coverage strategy to optimize the coverage performance of sensor network. At first, the monitoring area is divided into several sub-regions by iterative quartering and the sub-regions are represented by a quad-tree structure. Secondly, the mobile coverage strategy is planned based on the idea of divide and conquers and combing the overall regional strategy with local regional strategy. The overall regional mobile strategy is planned by go through all sub-regions according to breadth-first traversal of the quad-tree. The local regional mobile strategy in each sub-region is designed based on the distribution of static nodes after the sub-region meshing. The results show that the mobile coverage strategy can achieve good network coverage, and it is very suitable for multiple mobile nodes.

Abstract:
<p>To address the multi-flexible integrated scheduling problem with setup times, a multi-flexible integrated scheduling algorithm is put forward. First, the operation optimization allocation strategy, based on the principle of the relatively long subsequent path, is proposed to assign the operations to idle machines. Second, the parallel optimization strategy is proposed to adjust the scheduling of the planned operations and machines to make the processing as parallel as possible and reduce the no-load machines. Then, the flexible operation determination strategy is combined with the above two strategies to determine the dynamic selection of the flexible operations as the planned operations. Finally, a potential operation preemptive strategy is proposed to judge whether the planned operations will be interrupted by other operations during their processing. The results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively solve the multi-flexible integrated scheduling with setup times, and it can also better solve the flexible integrated scheduling problem.</p>

Abstract:
Experiments in industrial democracy and participative forms of management constitute central issues in the ongoing search for viable models of organizing. In countries that have espoused the socialist strategy for socio-economic development, such forms constitute prime instruments in the integration of individual and national objectives. In principle, institutionalized models of participative management should blend with both underlying socialist 'intentions' and socio-economic endeavours. However, examina tion and comparisons of the systems adopted in Algeria and Yugoslavia suggests that these basic national pursuits and their associated effects set limits to the implementation of the intended democratic management systems. These limits are most apparent in the constraints generated by central planning as a fundamental instrument of the socialist strategy, and in technological imperatives. This paper compares the formalized mechanics of the Algerian participative system with the underlying principles of the Yugoslav model, drawing on data from fifteen Algerian State-enterprises and on published evidence on Yugoslav 'self management'.

Full text
Abstract:
In this paper, the issue of the deliberate aging of products by manufacturers is discussed. Deliberate aging consists in intentionally planning or designing a product with an artificially limited lifetime in order to force consumers to replace it faster. The resulting rapid acceleration of the cycle of obtaining and utilizing consumer goods has serious consequences in the form of negative externalities. For this reason, the conscious aging of products is now recognized as the cause of unjustified consumption, generating huge economic and social costs and leading to the devastation of the natural environment and excessive exploitation of natural resources. Thus, it is in clear contradiction to the model of sustainable development. The aim of this paper was to identify the purchasing attitudes of buyers in the durable goods market. For its implementation, a pilot questionnaire study, which covered a representative group of 354 respondents, was carried out. The results indicate that the factors that influence the purchase of restitution goods depend on the type of product and the consumer’s income. At the same time, about two thirds of the respondents recognized the problem of the deliberate aging of products. In their opinion, the goods produced in the autarkic economy were more durable and their life cycle was much longer. The results obtained require further empirical verification carried out in comparative studies.

The increasing number of heart disease patients and deaths due to ischemic heart events mobilizes studies aimed at discovering and improving new therapeutic procedures. Considering the high costs of pharmacological therapies, nonpharmacological strategies are a high-value and low-cost alternative. Combined with the known effects of physical exercise, heat therapy (HT) can significantly contribute to cardiovascular stabilization and cardioprotection. The goal of this short review is to consider the application of this nonpharmacological strategy as a protector of the cardiovascular system and cardiac function. The importance of the cardiovascular benefits of planned exposure to heat based on results from animal experiments and its effect on the preservation of cardiac function is highlighted. The findings demonstrated the benefits and highlighted the possibility of expanding the view of HT concerning cardioprotection.

Abstract:
<strong>Objectives:</strong>&nbsp;The key objective of this present article is the presentation of a control strategy which consists to compensate the disturbance as soon as it is observed. The main purpose of the proposed control strategy is to guarantee the respect of railway scheduling. The novel strategy allows compensating temporal disruption as soon as it is observed in order to avoid the time constraint violation and to respect planned scheduling.&nbsp;<strong>Methods:</strong>&nbsp;An algorithm that amends the measured disturbances by compensating the disruption along the mono-synchronized paths is presented. The proposed algorithm allows computing the available control margin for every controllable place.&nbsp;<strong>Findings:</strong>&nbsp;The main impartial is to compensate partially or totally the disturbance so as to avoid time constraint violation in railway transport networks. In these networks, time may be a significant parameter because it encompasses constraints to avoid adverse events. The temporal constraints which will arise on the railway network may degrade the planed schedules and consequently affect the availability of transportation systems. This leads to many problems in the decision and optimization of the studied transport systems.&nbsp;<strong>Novelty/Applications:</strong>&nbsp;This paper is devoted to the modeling and robust control of the Tunisian railway network. In this context, a novel robustness strategy is developed to compensate the time disruption in railway networks and to preserve the planned schedule. <strong>Keywords:</strong>&nbsp;robustness; control; temporal disturbances; railway networks; Ptime Petri Nets &nbsp;

Abstract:
Mobile target search is a problem pertinent to a variety of applications, including wilderness search and rescue. This paper proposes a hybrid approach for target search utilizing a team of mobile agents supported by a network of static sensors. The approach is novel in that the mobile agents deploy the sensors at optimized times and locations while they themselves travel along their respective optimized search trajectories. In the proposed approach, mobile-agent trajectories are first planned to maximize the likelihood of target detection. The deployment of the static-sensor network is subsequently planned. Namely, deployment locations and times are optimized while being constrained by the already planned mobile-agent trajectories. The latter optimization problem, as formulated and solved herein, aims to minimize an overall network-deployment error. This overall error comprises three main components, each quantifying a deviation from one of three main objectives the network aims to achieve: (i) maintaining directional unbiasedness in target-motion consideration, (ii) maintaining unbiasedness in temporal search-effort distribution, and, (iii) maximizing the likelihood of target detection. We solve this unique optimization problem using an iterative heuristic-based algorithm with random starts. The proposed hybrid search strategy was validated through the extensive simulations presented in this paper. Furthermore, its performance was evaluated with respect to an alternative hybrid search strategy, where it either outperformed or performed comparably depending on the search resources available.

Abstract:
Psychologically Informed Planned Environments (PIPEs) have been developed as part of the Offender Personality Disorder Strategy ( Department of Health, 2011 ). The Yorkshire and Humberside Personality Disorder Partnership (YHPDP) supports the delivery of this strategy at a local level, which includes two PIPE Approved Premises (AP). We have found that one of the most challenging and important aspects of running a PIPE AP has been responding to rule-breaking in a psychologically-informed manner. This paper describes a stepped and structured framework which we developed for managing boundary violations that is in line with the PIPE ethos.

Abstract:
The basic guarantee of promoting intelligent manufacturing ability of manufacturing enterprises is to enhance the comprehensive strength of the country and realize industrialization. Based on the coevolution strategy, considering the time and space structure, this paper determines that the path of manufacturing enterprises to promote intelligent manufacturing is adaptive, visionary, planned, and emerging. According to the factors influencing the promotion of intelligent manufacturing by manufacturing enterprises, the paper proposes the following steps: adaptive strategy path, vision strategic path, planned strategic path, and emerging strategy path. The paper constructs an evaluation system for manufacturing enterprises to promote the selection of intelligent manufacturing path with 25 evaluation indexes and establishes the three-dimensional model of promoting intelligent manufacturing path selection by using the combination of Choquet fuzzy integral method and SPACE method. Through the empirical analysis of ARR, it is found that the planned strategic path is the most suitable path to promote intelligent manufacturing, and the scientificity and objectivity of the three-dimensional path selection model are shown. It is of great theoretical innovation and practical significance to develop a new perspective for manufacturing enterprises to promote the research and selection of intelligent manufacturing path.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to identify the development of planned organisational change models (POCMs) since Lewin’s three-step model and to highlight key linkages between them. Design/methodology/approach A total of 13 commonly used POCMs were identified and connections with Lewin’s three-step framework and associated process attributes were made, reflecting the connections between these models and Lewin. Findings The findings show that first Lewin’s three-step model represents a framework for planned change; however, these steps could not be viewed in isolation of other interrelated processes, including action research, group dynamics, and force field analysis. These process steps underpin the iterative aspects of his model. Second, all 13 POCMs have clearly identified linkages to Lewin, suggesting that the ongoing development of POCMs is more of an exercise in developing ongoing procedural steps to support change within the existing framework of the three-step model. Research limitations/implications The authors recognise that the inclusion of additional POCMs would help strengthen linkages to Lewin. The findings from this paper refocus attention on the three-step model, suggesting its ongoing centrality in planned organisational change rather than it being dismissed as an historical approach from which more recently developed models have become more relevant. Practical implications This paper presents opportunities for organisational change management researchers to challenge their thinking with regard to the ongoing search for model refinement, and for practitioners in the design and structure of POCM. Originality/value An analysis of the ongoing relevance of Lewin and his linkage with modern POCMs assist in rationalising the broadening, and often confusing literature on change. This paper therefore not only contributes to filtering such literature, but also helps clarify the myriad of POCMs and their use.
