Abstract:
Play therapy is a counseling approach for children applying toys, games, and other play media to communicate to the children "language." One of the Play therapy models that combine ecosystems as being formed by an inseparable reciprocal relationship between living things, and their environment is Eco systemic Play Therapy (EPT). Ecosystem Play Therapy as a hybrid model that integrates the concepts of science biology, several models of child psychotherapy, and developmental theories. This model is not eclectic. Rather, it is the integration of several models to create an independent model that is different from the sum of its parts. The focus of EPT is on the process of optimizing the implementation of the child's function as the context of the child's ecosystem or world. EPT is developed from a phenomenological philosophical perspective, in contrast to traditional perspectives.

Abstract:
In this paper, I analyse a short scene that forms part of the opening of Sophokles’ Aias (66-133): Aias, suffering from madness, that was inflicted upon him by Athena, is displayed by the goddess to Odysseus. In the corpus of extant ancient drama, this inset appears to be unique; its expressive power seems to be derived from the scene's specific structure that in many important ways doubles integral elements of theatre. I rationalize the reasons why the scene has been often labelled “a play-within-a-play”, describing and illustrating elements that can be paralleled with structural components of theatre. Taking as a basis some concepts and ideas proposed by modern theatre theoreticians (Anne Ubersfeld, Tadeusz Kowzan, Umberto Eco), I argue that the essence of the performative dimension of the scene is to be found in the phenomenon of “ostentation act” as first described by Umberto Eco. Tracing the meaning of the inset within the tragedy as a whole, I lay great emphasis on the fact that the “ostentation” in Aias is a divine creation, and examine how Odysseus, who is a privileged recipient of the spectacle, reacts to the display of Aias' shameful condition.

Abstract:
Efficient and effective urban management systems for Ubiquitous Eco Cities require having intelligent and integrated management mechanisms. This integration includes bringing together economic, socio-cultural and urban development with a well-orchestrated, transparent and open decision-making system and necessary infrastructure and technologies. In Ubiquitous Eco Cities, telecommunication technologies play an important role in monitoring and managing activities via wired and wireless networks. Particularly, technology convergence creates new ways in which information and telecommunication technologies are used and formed the backbone of urban management. The 21st century is an era where information has converged, in which people are able to access a variety of services, including internet- and location- based services, through multi-functional devices and provides new opportunities in the management of Ubiquitous Eco Cities. This paper discusses developments in telecommunication infrastructure and trends in convergence technologies and their implications on the management of Ubiquitous Eco Cities.

Abstract:
In this study, recycled fine aggregate (RFA), also known as recycled brick micro-powder (RBM), was used to completely replace quartz sand for the preparation of green, low-cost ecological engineered cementitious composites (ECO-ECC). RFA was used to replace ultrafine silica sand in the range of 0–100%. Firstly, the optimal replacement rate of RFA was determined, and the test results showed that the ECO-ECC prepared by fully replacing quartz sand with RFA as fine aggregate had strain hardening and multiple cracks, and the tensile strain of the specimens could reach 3%. Then the effects of fiber volume fraction and size effect on the mechanical properties of ECO-ECC were systematically investigated. The results showed that the fiber volume fraction has some influence on the mechanical properties of ECO-ECC. With the increase of fiber volume fraction, the ultimate deflection of the material keeps increasing up to 44.87 mm and the ultimate strain up to 3.46%, with good ductility and toughness. In addition, the compressive strength of the material has a good size effect, and there is a good linear relationship between different specimen sizes and standard sizes. It provides a good basis for engineering applications. Microscopic experimental results also showed that fibers play an important bridging role in the material, and the fiber pull-out and pull-break damage effects are significant.

Abstract:
This article considers The Legends of Khasak, a Malayalam play by Deepan Sivaraman, as a landmark Indian eco-theatrical production. I argue for the play as an important development in a nascent Indian eco-theatre, telling an ecologically significant tale about the relationship between humans and nature through performative and scenographic innovations that transform the theatrical space into a sacred grove, a place of deep significance in terms of ecological balance. This essay elaborates on how the play celebrates the pancha bhutas, the five elements of nature, by displaying their agency and invoking the pancha indriyas, or the five pathways of human perception, and thereby awakening an awareness of our status as ecological beings enmeshed in the non-human world. In The Legends of Khasak, Sivaraman has evolved an eco-material aesthetics of performance that, influenced by traditional folk performance forms and rituals and post-independence syncretic theatre, makes a lasting contribution to the development of an Indian eco-drama.

Abstract:
Interactions between natural selection and environmental change are well recognized and sit at the core of ecology and evolutionary biology. Reciprocal interactions between ecology and evolution, eco-evolutionary feedbacks, are less well studied, even though they may be critical for understanding the evolution of biological diversity, the structure of communities and the function of ecosystems. Eco-evolutionary feedbacks require that populations alter their environment (niche construction) and that those changes in the environment feed back to influence the subsequent evolution of the population. There is strong evidence that organisms influence their environment through predation, nutrient excretion and habitat modification, and that populations evolve in response to changes in their environment at time-scales congruent with ecological change (contemporary evolution). Here, we outline how the niche construction and contemporary evolution interact to alter the direction of evolution and the structure and function of communities and ecosystems. We then present five empirical systems that highlight important characteristics of eco-evolutionary feedbacks: rotifer–algae chemostats; alewife–zooplankton interactions in lakes; guppy life-history evolution and nutrient cycling in streams; avian seed predators and plants; and tree leaf chemistry and soil processes. The alewife–zooplankton system provides the most complete evidence for eco-evolutionary feedbacks, but other systems highlight the potential for eco-evolutionary feedbacks in a wide variety of natural systems.

Abstract:
The average temperature on earth has increased significantly over the last 70 years. 97% of researchers agree that the reason behind this is humans. Despite this overwhelming scientific consensus, there are people who do not believe in global warming but also many who do not act upon this information. A method to overcome the inability to act upon scientific information, is through games that motivate people to reduce their carbon dioxide emissions. The overall aim of this study is to gain a deeper understanding of the players' experience of the climate game Play for Eco. To do this, a qualitative approach including semi-structured interviews was used. The most important results in this study are (1) Play for Eco motivates its players by acting as a source of information for how to live more sustainable, giving insight to an implementation of how technology can convey environmental thinking as well as functioning as a method to lower one's carbon dioxide footprint in a fun way. (2) Play for Eco has problems with; visualizing success, customizing games for different audiences, giving players more feedback after completing missions as well as offering a way for players to communicate with each other. (3) To further motivate their players, Play for Eco needs to; implement a narrative, provide more concrete feedback on how a completed task affects one's climate impact, adapt the game to more experienced players as well as offer a way for the players to communicate with each other.

Abstract:
This paper focuses on how to design a childrens game to help them realize that they can have a positive influence on the environment. We present a detailed description and analysis of our work process from brainstorming to the discussions after playtesting our prototype. Playing while learning has been the motivation of our work which is divided into three specific topics: How to involve the users in the design process, what type of social aspects exist in our game, and the importance of a feedback and reward system in the game. We look upon earlier research and examples within these three areas. We designed our game from a user centered perspective to make the users influence and encourage a discussion and awareness about environmental questions in a way that isnʼt negative. While designing our game we wanted to shed a positive light upon a serious issue and bring the environment into the topics of play and fun. In our research we discoverd that focusing on small subjects and tasks the children started to discuss the complex theme of the environment. We focus on the interaction with the children and using their influence to make decisions in our design process. Involving them helped us to see that there is not only one way of learning. In this game, the users learned from engagement and discussion, which ended up being the most important part of the game play.

Abstract:

Abstract:
However, even though there are currently many businesses that offer this type of products, some of them emerged from the economic situation and others have been affected by it, it is difficult to locate them to make purchases in an easy and simple way. This is due to the low reach that most of the ventures have both on Facebook and Instagram, which generates that the user buys other types of products when not being able to find them in a fast and practical way. Through this work, we seek to develop a business plan to solve the problem and consider the feasibility that this would have. It includes the development of a multi-brand website that serves as a sales channel for the various enterprises that join and that in turn will provide them with greater exposure and professionalism to their business in the face of the consumer. Therefore, first, several feasibility studies of the project had to be carried out, for which several interviews and surveys to the target public, as well as to experts in the business area, were used. Likewise, this document validates the importance and necessity of each element that makes up the organization in a certain way. By this we refer to our key partners, key resources, communication channels and other elements. Finally, campaigns were carried out with advertising on social networks that allowed us to generate greater interaction and a considerable number of sales on the website.<br>Trabajo de investigación

Abstract:
The following project, an eco-friendly bag made mainly for women, was made based on the inquiry made in Modern and South Metropolitan Lima to the SES A / B and C. This evidence that most women look for a product that simplifies the unforeseen during your daily and unexpected purchases. But all coincide in the difficulty to carry everywhere a bag that allows them to move their products. Likewise, it was evidenced that women make more purchases than men, and mainly go to minimarkets, warehouses or supermarkets. In addition, they are no stranger to the global trend of caring for the environment, opting more frequently for organic products. Therefore, due to their high demand for daily purchases they acquire more eco-friendly bags, but mostly forget these bags. In the face of trouble, the low supply and high cost of these bags acquire a plastic bag from the shopping center, paying the amount established by the new Law of Plastics. To carry out the project, an intensive analysis of the industry and its various factors was made. Likewise, strategic plans were established for each area, which validate the viability of the project. Thus, after investing S /. 64,699 initially, the first year will be obtained S /. 30,262 useful, the second S /. 35,335.39, and the third S /. 42,206.32. Abstract:
Published Article<br>The economic value of tourism makes it an attractive sector for commerce. Ethiopia has experienced rapid changes during the last decade and can be regarded the leading economic stimulator of the Horn of Africa. The challenge is therefore not only to develop tourism in a sustainable way so that a growing population can be fed, but simultaneously to create better livelihoods for millions of people. The primary objective is to develop an overall education, training and multi-disciplinary research plan for Ethiopian universities with an integrated gender perspective in the field of (eco) tourism, taking into account the professional and/or educational needs of the labour market and the demand-driven research needs of relevant external stakeholders in Ethiopia. Specific plans for universities with regard to training courses, study programmes and demand-driven research programmes will be developed, while explicitly avoiding overlap and overprovision of the afore-mentioned courses and programmes at national level.

Abstract:
Abstract This chapter focuses on climate countermeasures in the Japanese transport sector. We introduce the Japanese complexed automobile tax system and then calculate the Japanese effective carbon rate (ECR) on automobiles. In addition to the discussion of the ECR, this chapter offers a simple examination of the efficiency of electric vehicles (EVs) from the viewpoint of cost-benefit because it is expected that EVs will become the most popular eco-friendly vehicle in the future. Two remarks are found in our analysis. First, although the carbon tax rate on fuel consumption is small in Japan, compared to the European countries, the ECR is rather high. For further improvement of climate policy, the Japanese government should shift its attention to vehicle usage from vehicle purchase and possession. Second, under the basic assumption (i.e., representative owners do not recharge their EVs at home but at outdoor fast chargers), the diffusion of EVs is not an efficient measure for reducing GHG emissions. If owners recharge their EVs at home once of every two charges, the net benefit becomes positive Therefore, the opportunity cost of waiting for recharges is a key factor in whether EVs can play a role in mitigating climate change.

Abstract:
Abstract Eco-driving is a way to improve performance — mainly energy consumption — of road vehicles by computing an optimal speed and gear shifting profile based on vehicle data and road profile, e.g. slopes or speed limits. It mainly focuses on long haul scenarios such as highways, considering longitudinal movement only. Lateral acceleration of a vehicle is a critical quantity both in terms of comfort and safety, but its impact on fuel consumption or emissions is rarely considered or believed to be limited [1], as it does not affect directly the operating point of the engine. However, on country roads which usually present much stronger curvatures, lateral acceleration may be a critical constraint. In this paper, the impact of lateral acceleration limits on optimal solutions to multi-objective eco-driving is investigated. It is found that it may play an even more critical role than longitudinal acceleration with respect to fuel consumption and NOx emission. As a consequence, the choice of limits to lateral acceleration on curvy roads should be set very carefully in order to achieve a balance between energy saving, drivers comfort and travel time. The results of this work are validated on a high-feasibility Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) system calibrated with data from Real Driving Emissions tests.

Abstract:
Information and Communications Technology (ICT)/Information and Technology Services (ITS) can play an important role in the transport sector, helping in maintaining accessibility and contemporarily optimizing the use of the vehicles. Among these ICT measures, eco-routing seems a promising one. Drivers normally follow the route which minimizes their generalized costs, normally time and money. But environmental concern is increasing, and drivers are starting to think about the effects of their driving. This means including CO2 emissions or fuel consumption in their route choice. But is this always positive, independently of the traffic situation and the penetration level of green drivers? This articles aims to analyze what happens in terms of fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and travel time, when different penetration levels of drivers, and with different traffic situations, follow the route of minimum fuel consumption instead of the conventional generalized costs. The analysis is based on a modelling process using a transport model of the whole region of Madrid. A total of 18 scenarios are considered: 3 reference scenarios (for congested, medium and low flow traffic situations), and 5 different penetration levels of green drivers for each traffic situation. Results show how impact varies substantially with the level of traffic and, also, that the more the best is not always true.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.4995/CIT2016.2016.3250

Abstract:
The growth sustainability requires dramatic changes to lower the natural resources consumption and the surroundings pollution, by recovery/remediation processes. The EU policy aims at the extended producers/suppliers responsibility, with effective charges on the products allowed to be put on the market, used and called-back, in view of the properly small impact and transparent lifecycle acknowledgement. This leads to «extensions» in designing the new offers with integrated monitoring and service functions. The design for the lifecycle eco-effectiveness is accomplishment, better qualifying the far-seeing companies according to the EU eco-policy. The idea is to reach the duty visibility, by the extended plug-and-play concept, based on series of integrated design options, assigning the structural and functional modules, for the operation monitoring, the reliability assessment and the impact appraisal. This instrumental setting includes intangible information/communication aids, to confer ambient intelligence abilities. This way, the on-process visibility is assured, and exploited for on-duty servicing and end-of-life processing. The example case chosen deals with the critical situation of the parts manufactured in plastics, which are deemed to represent most relevant portion in the cars to come. The following recovery options are possible: - the reuse of the reconditioned items, according to suitably assessed life-extension opportunities; - the recycling of the warn-out components, with the regeneration and reusing of the materials; - the thermal recovery of residual stuffs, within careful handling and pollution-safe warnings; - the reduction to registered ASR, automobile shredding residue, within the EU directives limits. The on-board information system includes, as innovative feature, the resort to identifying tags or labels, to be read and written through wireless links. The technology exploits cheap and compact supports, allowing the labelling of the component, from production, to lifecycle, with an identifying code. The RFID, Radio Frequency Identification Device, is privileged, as ideal means for the component traceability and the history, use modes/styles and cumulated issues storing.

Abstract:
Cities play an essential role in facilitating and supporting the real-world experimentations (for instance in public spaces with real users) of innovative products and services in the field of clean technologies. In this respect, the City of Paris has implemented an experimentation mechanism to help innovative start-ups improving their solutions and robustifying their business models in a multi-stakeholder eco-system. Nonetheless, a primary investigation demonstrated that the efficiency of these in vivo in situ experimentations have means of being improved. To deal with this issue, the current paper proposes a critical review and a characterization of the existing projects related to clean technology and sustainability themes. A study over 25 experimentation projects results in identifying matches and mismatches between the expectations and the obtained results of tests by innovative start-ups. We have statistically demonstrated that the most important purpose of running experimentation projects by start-ups is to test and build a relevant “stakeholders network” around their businesses. Furthermore, we have assessed the influence of these experimentations on the design of innovative products.

Abstract:
Cloud manufacturing is emerging as a new promising business paradigm as well as an integrated technical approach, contributing to the shaping of a highly-collaborative, knowledge-intensive, service-oriented and eco-efficient manufacturing industry. The following research issues concerning cloud manufacturing platform, what users can achieve with the platform, what the platform can do, and how to design it, play crucial roles in this new area. This paper proposes a cloud manufacturing paradigm that depicts a typical scenario which can provide an explanation for the concept of cloud manufacturing and makes the mysterious “cloud” transparent. Then the functional requirements of cloud manufacturing platform are investigated to specify design objectives. Based on these, the paper presents the design of MfgCloud, a cloud manufacturing platform prototype. In discussion of the main components of MfgCloud, the specific concepts different from those corresponding terms in IT area are also defined and given their implementation mechanisms. Consequently, this paper proposes a new point of view for the concept of cloud manufacturing, and accordingly presents a reference design of cloud manufacturing platform.

Abstract:
One of the major physiological functions of vascular endothelial cells (ECs) includes remodeling of vessel walls. ECs secrete matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) to degrade extracellular matrix (ECM), such as elastin and collagen. At least 23 different MMPs have been identified and have the capacity to degrade components of ECM. For example, MMP-9, known as a gelatinase, can degrade elastic fibers. The balance between MMPs and their specific inhibitors, tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases (TIMPs), tightly governs vascular remodeling and is belived to play a central role in the pathogenesis of arterial aneurysms [1].

In ASME 2020 15th International Manufacturing Science and Engineering Conference. American Society of Mechanical Engineers, 2020. http://dx.doi.org/10.1115/msec2020-8523.

Full text
Abstract:
Abstract Hybrid composite stacks are multi-material laminates which find extensive applications in industries such as aerospace, automobile, and electronics. Most hybrid composites consist of multi-layer fiber composites, and metal sheets stacked together. These composite stacks have excellent physical and mechanical properties, including high strength, high hardness, high stiffness, excellent fatigue resistance, and low thermal expansion. Composite stacks are fabricated to near net shape; additional machining operations are often required for several applications, primarily in the aerospace industry. The most frequent machining operation is high-speed cold saw cutting of these hybrid stacks within specified tolerances. During the cutting process, the cutting fluids play a significant role by reducing the cutting temperature and cutting forces, thereby increasing the surface quality finish of the hybrid composite stack. However, most of the cutting fluids pose environmental and health risks. Recently, researchers have been exploring the possibilities of using MQL to overcome the adverse effects of traditional cutting fluids. This research investigates MQL based cutting of hybrid composite stacks using different types of nanoparticle-enhanced vegetable oils. Specifically, the nanoparticles of choice that have found extensive popularity within the booming nano industry: Al2O3, Al(s), Ni(s), and Carbon Nanotubes (SWCNTs). For this study, CFRP/Al and CFRP/Ti composite stacks are used as the substrates. The effects of critical process parameters on the quality, surface roughness, and interface delamination of the composite materials are studied. The process parameters under consideration include the type of vegetable oils utilized, namely, jojoba and castor oil, the nanoparticle-enhancement effects, and the construction of the hybrid composite stack. From the results of this study, it is found that the chemistry between the MQL of choice and the dispersion of the nanoparticles is of critical importance. The results of this study are expected to open new possibilities for eco-friendly and cost-effective methods for cold saw cutting advanced engineering materials.

Abstract:
R/V Alkor Cruise AL543 was planned as a six-day cruise with a program of water column and sediment sampling in Kiel Bight and the western Baltic Sea. Due to restrictions related to the Covid-19 pandemic, the original plan had to be changed and the cruise was realized as six oneday cruises with sampling in Kiel Bight exclusively. The first day was dedicated to water column and sediment sampling for radionuclide analyses at Boknis Eck and Mittelgrund in Eckernförde Bay. On the remaining five days, water column, bottom water, sediment and pore water samples were collected at eleven stations covering different types of seafloor environment (grain size, redox conditions) in western Kiel Bight. The data and samples obtained on cruise AL543 will be used to investigate (i) the sedimentary cycling of bio-essential metals (e.g., nickel, zinc, and their isotopes) as a function of variable redox conditions, (ii) the impact of submarine groundwater discharge and diffusive benthic fluxes on the distribution of radium and radon as well as greenhouse gases (methane and nitrous oxide) in the water column, and (iii) to characterize and quantify the impact of coastal erosion on sedimentary iron, phosphorus and rare earth element cycling in Kiel Bight.
