Abstract:
The objective of the thesis was to evaluate the effect of foreign sports breeds of horses in the breeding of warm-blooded horses upgraded for jumping performance in the Czech Republic. The source for creating a database were data from show jumping competitions obtained from the Přehledu sportovních koní ČR (Survey of sports horses of the Czech Republic) 2000 -- 2009. The sports performance of the horses is expressed as PPB (average auxiliary points). The data were processed statistically using the GLM linear model in the UNISTAT 5.1 statistical programme. If the effect was statistically significant we used Scheffe's method of comparison to compare the multiple differences in the values. On the basis of statistical evaluations of groups of breeds representing the individuals born in the Czech Republic we discovered that the pedigree group AUTWB4 achieved the highest PPB value (4.52), i.e. 50% blood of the Austrian warm-blooded horse. The most numerous pedigree group in the entire population of the monitored sports horses based on the number of PPB points (14.36%) was the group where no dominant breed prevailed in the pedigree. The most frequently used foreign breed in breeding horses for show jumping performance is the Holstein warm-blooded horse. In evaluations of the performance of horses based on the country of their birth the highest PPB values (4.25) were achieved by individuals born abroad. In terms of the effect of the year of their start the highest PPB value (3.37) was achieved by horses starting in 2009 when also most of the PPB values (10.72%) were recorded. Evaluations of the differences between the sexes showed that stallions achieved the highest PPB values (3.84) and that the most numerous group were mares (47.20%). In terms of the differences in the ages of the horses the highest PPB value (3.43) was achieved in the group of 9-year-old horses and the most numerous group in show jumping competitions based on the number of PPB's (14.91 %) were 6-year-old horses.

Abstract:
Objective of the work was to analyze the results of performance testing and their usage in warmblood horses breeding. The active Czech warmblood stallions registered in The Czech warmblood breeders association on the list of stallions in 2012, were summarized into the overview. The results of mare performance tests (daughters of sires) and the results of offspring in jumping competitions were used for the analysis of the stallions. Stallions were divided according to available offspring data into three groups. The first group contains stallions who still can not have offspring in sport (young stallions), in the second group are stallions with no available record about the offsrping. The stallions in the third group have daughters passed the performance tests and offspring in sports, therefore we have analyzed this third group in detail. Stallions were ranked by the number of offspring and by the performance results of their offspring. Based on average results of the mare performance tests and the average number of points in jumping competitions were selected the top stallions, who also had to meet a criterion of the number of offspring (min. 10 mares on performance tests and min. 6 offspring in sport). Own performance and the performance of the progeny of these top ten stallions was compared with other equally or even more frequent stallions. Based on the results of mare performance tests and sports performance of the offspring were best assessed stallions: Comero, Phill, Le Patron, Radegast, Sargoni, Manillon Rouge, Amarillo, Dantes, Rock´n Roll and Calanthano. These all stallions met the criterion of the number of offspring. The breeder selection of the stallion doesn´t follow performance results and the number of offspring doesn´t copy the quality of the stallion, it means, that the selection of the stallion for each mare is based on other circumnstances. It means that the results of performance testing were not used in Czech warmblood breeding.

Abstract:
The aim of this work was to compile a summary of the information provided to the public breeders by the five warm-blood horse breeding organizations in the Czech Republic. Mentioned horses are used for sporting purposes. A similar report was done on the extent and quality of information provided to the public breeders in neighboring European countries. We had prepared a proposal for a system that would provide the necessary information for effective breeding work . In the Czech Republic there is a system for collecting information about the population of horses. However, it is necessary to evaluate and publish information in an understandable form to breeders. As a basis for the preparation of tabular overview of the number of warm-blood horses bred in the Czech Republic, were collected the data from the Central horse register website and data from yearbooks and websites of individual breeders associations. Data were collected for the period of 2006 - 2013. In this thesis the processed data covers these breeds: Czech warmblood, Slovak warmblood, Moravian warmblood , Kinsky horse and Czech Traken. We have suggested the system, configuration and method for disclosure of the breeding information for warm-blood horse breeders and there is also recommended the annual frequency. As a model stallion was chosen Dutch warmblood Great Pleasure and we have created an information portfolio of this stallion. The system of the published information includes identification of the horse, pedigree, exterior evaluation, the results of his performance, comparing features and characteristics of the offspring population and the average breeding value estimation for exterior and performance. An important point is to make the overview of births and evaluated offspring. The proposed system should allow the improvement of the current breeding process and provide objective information to breeders for the right breeding decisions.

Abstract:
On the basis of written sources and actual information obtained from the forest owners a proposal for a solution has been prepared. The proposal concerns stabling system, health care and professional use of horses in the forest cover. Natural and terrain conditions as well as usability of particular cold-blooded horse breeds are taken into consideration while dealing with this matter. This study also includes a proposal for the organisation of work, necessary number of workers needed and rough financial budget of cost items. Study also compares horses to mechanical means of collecting wood. Based on the analysis, where 85 cold-blooded horses have been evaluated, an overview has been elaborated. The overview includes priorities and satisfaction of the owners with horses and horses´ current situation in forestry. In conclusion it is proven that average age of coachmen working in forestry is 42 years. The most often used breed is Slézský norik, in the age of 6 to 10 years. The coachmen usually work in a hard, sometimes even steep and chaotic, terrain. The most often stated payment for one concentrated cubic meter of wood is 80 CZK. The average number of concentrated cubic metres is 14 per day. The most often used type of stable for cold-blooded horses is tethering. The second most frequently used is stalls.
