Abstract:
The value of Partial Least Squares Path Modeling (PLS-PM) in management research has now been acknowledged, although the PLS-PM was developed for a reason. First, the PLS-PM was developed as an alternative to Covariance based Structural Equation Modeling (CBSEM) when exploratory research is conducted. As far as this method concerned, many researchers are misused or overuse the application of PLS-PM without understanding the basic knowledge in structural equation modeling. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to discuss the five common mistakes (data distributions, sample size limitations, unsatisfactory fitness index, misunderstanding between confirmatory and exploratory research, and poor factor loadings) for using PLS-PM over CB-SEM in management research. We concluded that the researchers should respect these methods and justify their use when conducting the research projects because some of the projects might be better for CB-SEM or PLS-PM.

Abstract:
Purpose As technology in tourism and hospitality (TTH) develops technical artifacts according to visitors’ demands, it must deal with both behavioral and design constructs in the context of structural equation modeling (SEM). While behavioral constructs are typically modeled as common factors, the study at hand introduces the composite into TTH to model artifacts. To deal with both kinds of constructs, this paper aims to exploit partial least squares path modeling (PLS-PM) as a confirmatory approach to estimate models containing common factors and composites. Design/methodology/approach The study at hand presents PLS-PM in its current form, i.e. as a full-fledged approach for confirmatory purposes. By introducing the composite to model artifacts, TTH scholars can use PLS-PM to answer research questions of the type “Is artifact xyz useful?”, contributing to a further understanding of TTH. To demonstrate the composite model, an empirical example is used. Findings PLS-PM is a promising approach when the model contains both common factors and composites. By applying the test for overall model fit, empirical evidence can be obtained for latent variables and artifacts. In doing so, researchers can statistically test whether a developed artifact is useful. Originality/value To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first study to discuss the practical application of composite and common factor models in TTH research. Besides introducing the composite to model artifacts, the study at hand also guides scholars in the assessment of PLS-PM results.

Abstract:
Purpose People seem to function according to different models, which implies that in business and social sciences, heterogeneity is a rule rather than an exception. Researchers can investigate such heterogeneity through multigroup analysis (MGA). In the context of partial least squares path modeling (PLS-PM), MGA is currently applied to perform multiple comparisons of parameters across groups. However, this approach has significant drawbacks: first, the whole model is not considered when comparing groups, and second, the family-wise error rate is higher than the predefined significance level when the groups are indeed homogenous, leading to incorrect conclusions. Against this background, the purpose of this paper is to present and validate new MGA tests, which are applicable in the context of PLS-PM, and to compare their efficacy to existing approaches. Design/methodology/approach The authors propose two tests that adopt the squared Euclidean distance and the geodesic distance to compare the model-implied indicator correlation matrix across groups. The authors employ permutation to obtain the corresponding reference distribution to draw statistical inference about group differences. A Monte Carlo simulation provides insights into the sensitivity and specificity of both permutation tests and their performance, in comparison to existing approaches. Findings Both proposed tests provide a considerable degree of statistical power. However, the test based on the geodesic distance outperforms the test based on the squared Euclidean distance in this regard. Moreover, both proposed tests lead to rejection rates close to the predefined significance level in the case of no group differences. Hence, our proposed tests are more reliable than an uncontrolled repeated comparison approach. Research limitations/implications Current guidelines on MGA in the context of PLS-PM should be extended by applying the proposed tests in an early phase of the analysis. Beyond our initial insights, more research is required to assess the performance of the proposed tests in different situations. Originality/value This paper contributes to the existing PLS-PM literature by proposing two new tests to assess multigroup differences. For the first time, this allows researchers to statistically compare a whole model across groups by applying a single statistical test.

Abstract:
Heterogeneity is a pertinent issue in Information Systems (IS) research because human behavior often differs across groups. In the partial least squares path modeling (PLS-PM) context, several approaches have been proposed to investigate potential group differences. Despite the availability of numerous approaches, literature that compares their efficacy is sparse. Consequently, IS researchers lack guidance on which approach is best suited to detect group differences. We address this issue by presenting the results of an extensive Monte Carlo simulation study that juxtaposes the various approaches' behavior under numerous conditions. In doing so, we first provide an overview on existing approaches proposed for multigroup analysis (MGA) in the PLS-PM context. Moreover, we derive important implications for applied research: Firstly, we show that the omnibus test of group differences (OTG) and approaches based on the comparison of confidence intervals are not recommendable for MGA. Secondly, we provide detailed information as to which approaches are suitable for comparing one specific path coefficient and which are recommended if the complete structural model is compared across groups. Finally, we show that approaches which are designed to compare a single parameter require an adjustment for multiple comparisons when used to compare more than two groups.

Abstract:
Abstract. One of the new approaches introduced by Herman Wold, is Partial Least Square (PLS) which is often referred to as soft modeling. PLS is a powerful analytical method because it is not based on many assumptions. PLS does not require multivariate normal assumptions, can be used at all measurement scales and the sample size does not have to be large. PLS is used to see the influence and magnitude of the influence of the independent variable (X) on the dependent variable (Y). The variables used are latent variables that cannot be measured directly, except using manifest variables or indicators. In the case of customer satisfaction who does not have a measuring instrument, an indicator is used as a measuring tool. The purpose of this study is to apply the Partial Least Square method to consumer satisfaction using Gojek's Online ojek transportation services. The results of this method as a whole have a significant effect, but there is one variable that does not have an effect, namely reliability, and the variable that can have the greatest influence is empathy.

Abstract:
This article explores and validates the integrated use of the viable system model (VSM) and the partial least squares path modeling (PLS-PM) approach to assess the sustainable management of RAMSAR sites carrying out economic activities. This work adopts a systems-thinking approach integrating systemic methodologies in three phases: (1) the VSM was first used to develop a conceptual model of the organisational problem; (2) PLS-PM was used to propose a construct to outline a solution, as well as to statistically validate the relationships proposed in the conceptual model; finally, (3) through the VSM, the relationships between actors were rethought in order to promote sustainable performance. The results obtained suggest that the joint use of VSM and PLS-PM is an effective approach that aids in the identification of relational and structural pathologies affecting the observed RAMSAR systems. It also proved useful to suggest that relationships can lead to the sustainable performance of the sites under study. It should be noted that the framework of systemic tools is constrained in its application to the organisational domain: assessing two RAMSAR areas in Mexico. Methodologically, this is the first application of the integrated use of VSM and PLS-PM to analyse the management and viability/sustainability of RAMSAR areas from an organisational perspective, opening a new avenue for the analysis and optimisation of management of such areas. This study provides tools to support actors and academics related to RAMSAR sites and opens up a discussion on how to rethink the organisational interactions in order to improve RAMSAR sites’ adaptive capabilities.

Abstract:
The standard partial least squares path modeling (PLS-PM) estimation process assumes the observed data as continuous variables. With slight modifications, this estimation algorithm can be used for data on a binary scale and even for more complex models such as higher order constructs. This study aims to determine by simulation and application of real data the performance of the higher-order construct modeling approach, which of the repeated indicator and two-stage approaches provides better results. From simulation study it was found that the repeated indicator approach with binary data (BinPLS) was better than the two-stage approach. Empirical results also show that the BinPLS measurement model with the repeated indicator approach is better than standard PLS. Evaluation of the structural model also shows that BinPLS with a repeated indicator approach is the best because it produces path coefficients and the power to explain multidimensional poverty and social protection models that are better than BinPLS with a two-stage approach and standard PLS.

Abstract:
Structural equation modeling offers various estimation methods for estimating parameters. The most used method in covariance-based structural equation modeling (CB-SEM) is the maximum likelihood (ML) estimator. The ML estimator is typically used when fitting models with normally distributed data. The growth of partial least squares path modeling (PLS-PM), including consistent partial least squares (PLSc), has also been noticed by researchers in the SEM fields. The PLSc has elevated interest in the scholastic setting in measuring the performance of various estimation methods in structural equation modeling. The choice of estimation methods has substantial impact in yielding parameter estimates. There could be a trade-off among the estimation methods’ ability to deal with different types of data based on the model tested. Accordingly, this study aims to compare the performance of ML, generalized least squares (GLS), and scale-free least squares (SFLS) for CB-SEM as well as partial least squares (PLS) and consistent partial least squares (PLSc). Multivariate normal data were generated using Monte Carlo simulation with pre-determined population parameters and sample sizes using R Programming packages. To produce the estimated values, data analysis was performed using AMOS and SmartPLS for CB-SEM and PLS-SEM, respectively. The findings illustrate notable similarities between CB-SEM (ML) and PLS-SEM results when the true indicator loading is certainly high.

Abstract:
Abstract The number of people with autism in Indonesia is estimated to continue to increase, with 500 new children diagnosed with autism each year. Children with autism are they who have difficulty in communicating, making it difficult to adapt to the environment or unable to interact with their surroundings. Difficulties in communicating and expressing emotions can frustrate children with autism, triggering temper tantrums. Temper tantrums are emotional outbursts shown through physical actions such as hitting or slamming objects, as well as verbally such as shouting or crying. Although various strategies have been developed to deal with temper tantrums, there are still limitations in understanding the specific roles of reinforcement, punishment, and emotional intelligence in influencing this behavior. Therefore, this study aims to determine the Partial Least Square-Path Modeling (PLS-PM) model to examine the influence of reinforcement, punishment, and emotional intelligence on temper tantrum behavior in children with autism in SLB N Gorontalo City. The number of samples used was 31 using saturated sampling technique. The results obtained from this study are reinforcement has a significant effect on emotional intelligence and temper tantrum behavior, while punishment also affects temper tantrum. With an absolute contribution value of 22.85%, it indicates that reinforcement has the greatest contribution to temper tantrum behavior. Keywords: autism; plspm; temper tantrum behavior. Abstract:
Using self-determination theory as the framework, we examined the temporal ordering between satisfaction and thwarting of basic psychological needs and motivation. We accomplished this goal by using a two-wave 7-month partial least squares path modeling approach (PLS-PM) among a sample of 94 adolescent athletes (Mage = 15.96) in an intensive training setting. The PLS-PM results showed significant paths leading: (a) from T1 satisfaction of basic psychological need for competence to T2 identified regulation, (b) from T1 external regulation to T2 thwarting and satisfaction of basic psychological need for competence, and (c) from T1 amotivation to T2 satisfaction of basic psychological need for relatedness. Overall, our results suggest that the relationship between basic psychological need and motivation varied depending on the type of basic need and motivation assessed. Basic psychological need for competence predicted identified regulation over time whereas amotivation and external regulation predicted basic psychological need for relatedness or competence over time.

PurposeThe purpose of this study is threefold: (1) to propose partial least squares path modeling (PLS-PM) as a way to estimate models containing composites of composites and to compare the performance of the PLS-PM approaches in this context, (2) to provide and evaluate two testing procedures to assess the overall fit of such models and (3) to introduce user-friendly step-by-step guidelines.Design/methodology/approachA simulation is conducted to examine the PLS-PM approaches and the performance of the two proposed testing procedures.FindingsThe simulation results show that the two-stage approach, its combination with the repeated indicators approach and the extended repeated indicators approach perform similarly. However, only the former is Fisher consistent. Moreover, the simulation shows that guidelines neglecting model fit assessment miss an important opportunity to detect misspecified models. Finally, the results show that both testing procedures based on the two-stage approach allow for assessment of the model fit.Practical implicationsAnalysts who estimate and assess models containing composites of composites should use the authors’ guidelines, since the majority of existing guidelines neglect model fit assessment and thus omit a crucial step of structural equation modeling.Originality/valueThis study contributes to the understanding of the discussed approaches. Moreover, it highlights the importance of overall model fit assessment and provides insights about testing the fit of models containing composites of composites. Abstract:
Many studies have been investigating how IS (information systems) can help build a corporate performance, but there are less research investigating how IS contributing to performance by mediating business strategy in uncertain environments. To address this question, the present study seeks to empirically explore the relationship between strategic information systems and corporate performance by mediating business strategy. Partial Least Squares-Path Modeling (PLS-PM) confirmed SIS's strong influence on strategy, and full strategy mediation on the relationship between SIS and performance. SIS showed greater performance contribution in high heterogeneity environments than in lower ones, and small and medium-sized firms have 50% more contribution of the effects of strategy on performance than large firms. The post-hoc-analysis study did not identify the presence of heterogeneity segmentation not observed by Finite Mixture (FIMIX-PLS). Through fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA), non-linear causality was verified in the strategy in certain solutions by the variables of large firms, with intensive use of SIS and high environmental heterogeneity. Moreover, the study demonstrated that SIS’s strategic alignment has strong effects and explanation power on performance and may suggest that it is an indissociable resource for the strategy-as-practice effectiveness. Hence, the study contributed to understanding how SIS create value to strategy-as-practice approach under environmental turbulence to impact corporate performance.

Education is an important factor that can affect the development of a country and is a basic human need. To ensure the continuous progress of education, it is necessary to pay attention to the results and achievements of education in Indonesia. In this research model, Partial Least Square Path Modeling (PLS PM) is used to explain the relationship between education outcomes and achievements and the quality dimensions of provincial education in Indonesia. However, because there is heterogeneity in the population unit, the Response Based Unit Segmentation Partial Least Square (REBUS PLS) algorithm is used to overcome the alleged heterogeneity. The results showed that there were 20 influential indicators in the structural model, with the influential paths being student activities to participation, educational facilities and infrastructure to educational outcomes and achievements, student activities to educational outcomes and achievements, and participation to educational outcomes and achievements. REBUS PLS successfully detects heterogeneity and produces two segments, with the value of R2 on the local model greater than the value of R2 on the global model and the GoF value in the GoF large category.

Abstract:
Colorectal cancer is a highly heterogeneous malignancy in the Asian population, and it is considered an important prognostic factor for baseline characteristics, tumor burden, and tumor markers. This study investigated the effect of baseline characteristics and tumor burden on tumor marker expression and progressive disease in colorectal cancer by using partial least squares variance-based path modeling (PLS-PM). PLS-PM can be used to evaluate the complex relationship between prognostic variables and progressive disease status with a small sample of measurements and structural models. A total of 89 tissue samples of colorectal cancer were analyzed. Our results suggested that the expression of visceral adipose tissue-derived serpin (vaspin) is a potential indicator of colorectal cancer progression and may be affected by baseline characteristics such as age, sex, body mass index, and diabetes mellitus. Moreover, according to the characteristics of tumor burden, the expression of vaspin was generally higher in each progressive disease patient. The overall findings suggest that vaspin is a potential indicator of the progressive disease and may be affected by the baseline characteristics of patients.

Abstract:
We examined the impact of agricultural intensification on the wellbeing of rural communities in a developing country on a sub-communal scale. To measure the interactions within this complex causal relationship, a statistical approach was applied, using partial least squares path modeling (PLS-PM) in its formative structure. Using PLS-PM to simultaneously relate the measured variables (manifest variables) and conceptual variables (latent variables), while incorporating other variables, such as the bioclimate and demography, we characterized the spatial structure of the links between intensive agriculture and wellbeing. The aim was to facilitate government intervention aiming to improve the wellbeing of rural households, while avoiding cumbersome and costly surveys when the scope of public action is extended to a region or a country. Our findings show that the generalization of the productivist system is not always appropriate in developing countries. In our case study, employment in the secondary and tertiary sectors is insufficient to accommodate the rural exodus. In such situations, agricultural intensification leads to poverty and migration to the areas of production and increases disparities in social wellbeing in rural areas.

This method allow the estimation of complex cause and effect relationship models with latent variables. This paper explain how this method can be use in the final stage of a product design and development study. In the study, learning outcome becomes the center for universal design, development and implementation processes. There are two stages of major processes. First is the instructional design processes while the second is the development processes. The development processes ends with usability test. The next phase is the evaluation phase. Last phase is the modeling processes. The paper will first explain about the localized model of product design and development procedure. Subsequently it will elaborate the final phase of the second stage processes, which is important in impact study of product design and development. While at this, the partial least square structural equation modeling will be explain. It is a powerful statistical technique yet misconceptions happen a lot. Abstract:
In this paper, the problems of development of associations of territorial communities in the tourism direction of economic development are considered. The object of research is the improvement of territorial communities on the example of Ukraine. One of the most problematic places is the lack of funds for the development of existing large tourist complexes and the creation of new ones. The study uses the idea that tourism development has a direct stimulating effect on the development of a number of important economic sectors. The use of a mathematical apparatus is also considered, which allows to analyze the main factors influencing the development of the tourism industry of territorial communities. A comprehensive solution of economic, social and environmental issues of sustainable tourism development is impossible without the development of mathematical models and supporting tools that allow predicting the main indicators of sustainable tourism development. The paper considers PLS-PM modeling using such internal consistency criteria as Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient, Dillon-Goldstein coefficient ρ, model reliability, mean variance. The purpose of the PLS-PM model is to obtain estimates of latent variables for further forecasting procedures for the development of the system. The processes taking place in the tourism industry are characterized by a complex interaction of economic, environmental and social factors. Their influence should be taken into account for the implementation of the sustainable tourism development strategy. The analysis of the model was also carried out with the help of a single coefficient of quality of the correspondence of the data model, which characterizes the quality of the internal and external models of the system. Thanks to the listed tools, the statement is formed that the regulation of key factors of the tourism sector of the economic sector can have a positive impact on the development of national culture and economy in the united territorial communities. The created mathematical model clearly forms the conclusion that the development of tourism in local communities can become the engine of their sustainable economic development, given the available regional conditions.

Abstract:
Background: The healthcare environment is becoming increasingly competitive to meet patients’ expectations and demands. Despite the nurses’ best efforts to provide the finest services, they often receive complaints from people dissatisfied with the services they receive. There are reports claiming nurses as violent and unethical in their duties. This condition causes constant stress among nurses, translating into trait anger and negative affect. The present work aimed to examine the influence of trait anger and negative affectivity on deviant workplace behavior with the mediating role of moral disengagement. Methods: This cross-sectional correlational study was conducted in the general hospitals of the northern, southern, east coast, and central Malaysia’s regions from January to June 2020. The study sample included 387 nurses recruited by proportionate stratified random sampling. The data were collected using negative affect scale, deviant workplace behavior scale, trait anger scale, and moral disengagement scale. Then, the obtained were analyzed using partial least squares path modeling (PLS-PM) with SMART PLS software, version 3.2.8. Results: The results of the PLS-PM suggested that trait anger contributes to deviant workplace behavior (β=0.245, P=0.001). Also, this study discovered that moral disengagement mediates the relationship between trait anger, negative affectivity, and deviant workplace behavior among nurses. Conclusion: This study enriches the knowledge of deviant workplace behavior in healthcare settings, specifically Malaysia’s public healthcare sector. In the future, similar studies should be performed in private hospitals to improve the generalisability of the findings.

Abstract This paper investigates the nexus of military expenditure, income inequality, and profit rate, applying the non-parametric technique of Partial Least Squares Path Modeling (PLS-PM) to 21 countries for 1988–2008. The findings suggest that military expenditure has a positive effect on income inequality while income inequality has a positive impact on profit rate. In contrast, military expenditure has a (relatively small) positive effect on profit rate. However, these results change significantly once unobserved heterogeneity is considered. Accordingly, based on four segments, although the positive effect of income inequality on profit rate remains the same for each segment, for some segments, the effect of military expenditure on income inequality and profit rate become negative.

Abstract:
Cryo-injury reduces post-thaw semen quality. Extender components play a protective role, but existing experimental approaches do not elucidate interactions among extender components, semen samples, and post-thaw quality. To identify optimal concentrations for 12 extender ingredients, we ran 122 experiments with an I-optimal completely random design using a large dataset from our previous study. We obtained a maximum predicted total motility of 70.56% from an I-optimal design and 73.75% from a Monte Carlo simulation. Individual bull variations were significant and interacted with extenders independently. 67% of bulls reliably preferred extender formulations to reach maximum motility. Multifactor analysis suggests that some antioxidants may offer superior protection over others. Partial least squares path modeling (PLS-PM) found the highest positive loadings for glutathione in the antioxidant class, glycerol in the CPA class, and fructose in the basic compounds class. The optimal ranges for milk, water, and ethylene glycol were extremely narrow. Egg yolk, cholesterol-loaded cyclodextrin, and nerve growth factor had medium-loading impacts. PLS-PM showed that CPA, osmoregulators, and basic components were the most efficient contributors to motility, while the antioxidant and extracellular protectant classes had less efficiency. Thus, ingredients, concentrations, and interactions of extender compounds are critical to extender formulation, especially when using multiple compounds with the same function.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Oil and gas construction projects are of great importance to support and facilitate the process of operation and production. However, these projects usually face chronic risks that lead to time overrun, cost overrun, and poor quality, affecting the projects’ success. Hence, this study focused on identifying, classifying, and modeling the risk factors that have negative effects on the success of construction projects in Yemen. The data were collected through a structured questionnaire. Statistical analysis, relative important index method, and probability impact matrix analysis were carried out to classify and rank the risk factors. The partial least squares path modeling or partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-PM, PLS-SEM) is a method for structural equation modeling that allows an estimation of complex cause–effect relationships in path models with latent variables. PLS-SEM was employed to analyze data collected from a questionnaire survey of 314 participants comprising the clients, contractors, and consultants working in oil and gas construction projects. The results showed that the goodness of fit index of the model is 0.638. The developed model was deemed to fit because the analysis result of the coefficient of determination test (R2) of the model was 0.720, which indicates the significant explanation of the developed model for the relationship between the causes of risks and their effects on the success of projects. The most impacted internal risk categories include project management, feasibility study design, and resource material availability. The main external risk elements include political, economic, and security considerations. The created risk factor model explained the influence of risk factors on the success of construction projects effectively, according to statistical and expert validation tests.

Abstract:
This study aimed to: (a) examine the relationships between high-level athletes' perceptions of mothers' and fathers' behaviors, their satisfaction of basic psychological needs, and sport motivation and (b) explore whether the sex of the athlete moderated the aforementioned relationships. A total of 333 adolescent athletes involved in intensive training settings completed the Parental Involvement in Sport Questionnaire (PISQ), the Behavioral Regulation in Sport Questionnaire (BRSQ) and the Basic Need Satisfaction in Sporting Context Scale (BNSSS). Data were examined using correlational analyses and partial least square path modeling (PLS-PM). The PLS-PM revealed that father's perceived pressure positively predicted maladaptive outcomes (controlled forms of motivation and amotivation). Perceptions of the mothers' and fathers' praise and understanding positively predicted adaptive athletes' outcomes (self-determined forms of motivation and satisfaction of competence and relatedness), whereas the mothers' and fathers' perceived pressure negatively predicted such adaptive outcomes. Furthermore, differences regarding the aforementioned relationships between mother's and father's behaviors and athletes' outcomes were highlighted across their sex. More significant relationships emerged for boys versus girls and between athletes' outcomes and the perceived behaviors of the same-sex parents. In particular, the direction of relationships between introjected regulation and two parental behaviors (i.e. perception of father's directive behaviors and perception of mother's pressure) was reversed for boys and girls. As a whole, this study highlighted that both parent's and child's sex should be evaluated to understand sport parenting.

Abstract:
Our objective was to verify the impact of cargo transshipments on the relationship between routing and added value in highway companies of long steel transports for construction. Cargo transshipment is a process of loading and unloading, fractionated product loading, which takes time, causes inconveniences to industrial and commercial activities and, especially, increases costs inadequately. In this context, we conducted an exploratory and qualitative research, using a sample of 74 companies linked to autonomous steel mills. By the collected data, which were examined by structural equation modeling with the Partial Least Squares – Path Modeling (PLS-PM) technique, we demonstrated that transshipment mediates, in part, the relationship between routing and added value. With the results, we found that transport managers still must evolve cargo transshipments processes, through management training and development of solutions, involving cargo loading and unloading processes, which are vital for logistic added value for the construction field.

Abstract:
The study examines the causal relationship between total quality management (TQM) and organizational performance of deposit money banks in Nigeria. A cross-sectional survey design was employed, with primary data collected through structured questionnaires. Ten deposit money banks in Lagos State were purposively selected, representing the ten largest banks in Nigeria by total assets as of H1 2023. A judgmental sampling technique was used to select respondents, specifically managers from the chosen banks. From each bank, 20 managers from various departments were selected, resulting in a sample size of 200 respondents. Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was utilized to analyze the collected data. The results reveal that, although TQM practices such as leadership (LD), people management (PEM), strategic planning (SP), process management (SP), and information and analysis (IA), are positively related to employee performance (EMP), only PEM, PM, and IA, are significantly related to EMP. Also, LD, PM and IA are significantly and positively related to the banks’ innovation performance. These indicate that TQM practices have significant effect on employee performance and innovation success in deposit money banks in Nigeria.

Abstract:
Primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) is a rare lymphoma, and the disease course is often aggressive with poor prognosis outcomes. PCNSL undergoes germinal center reactions and impairs B-cell maturation. However, angiogenesis is also involved in the tumorigenesis and progression of PCNSL. This study investigated the effects of the tumor microenvironment and angiogenesis-associated genomic alterations on the outcomes of PCNSL. The analysis also evaluated the influence of treatment modality and timing on PCNSL survival using partial least squares variance-based path modeling (PLS-PM). PLS-PM can be used to evaluate the complex relationship between prognostic variables and disease outcomes with a small sample of measurements and structural models. A total of 19 immunocompetent PCNSL samples were analyzed by exome sequencing. Our results suggest that the timing of radiotherapy and mutations of ROBO1 and KAT2B are potential indicators of PCNSL outcomes and may be affected by baseline characteristics such as age and sex. Our results also showed that patients with no mutations of ROBO1 and KAT2B, SubRT subgroup showed favorable survival outcomes compared with no SubRT subgroup in short-term follow-up. All SubRT patients have received high-dose methotrexate induction chemotherapy in the initial treatment. Therefore, initial induction chemotherapy combined with subsequent radiotherapy might improve survival outcomes in PCNSL patients who have no ROBO1 and KAT2B somatic mutations in short-term follow-up. The overall findings suggest that the tumor microenvironment and angiogenesis-associated genomic alterations and treatment modalities are potential indicators of overall survival and may be affected by the baseline characteristics of PCNSL patients.

Abstract:
Rust (Melampsora apocyni) on Apocynum venetum is the major constraint to the commercial development of this medicinal herb. To determine the factors influencing rust intensity (maximum disease index [DImax]), rust was investigated from 2011 to 2015 in both cultivated and wild A. venetum plants. Partial least squares path modeling (PLS-PM) was used to analyze the paths and extent of the factors related to pathogen, environment, and host that affect rust intensity. DImax exhibited considerable variations across years and study sites, with variations linked to various factors fostering disease development. PLS-PM explained 80.0 and 70.1% of variations in DImax in cultivated and wild plants, respectively. Precipitation was the key factor determining DImax in both cultivated and wild plants (path coefficient [PC] = 0.313 and 0.544, respectively). In addition, the topsoil water content in cultivated plants and the total vegetation coverage in wild plants were also critical determinants of DImax via their effects on the microclimatic factor (contribution coefficients [CC] = 0.681 and 0.989, respectively; PC = 0.831 and 0.231, respectively). In both cultivated and wild plants, host factors were mainly dominated by A. venetum density (CC = 0.989 and 0.894, respectively), and their effect on DImax via the microclimatic factor (PC = 0.841 and 0.862, respectively) exceeded that via the inoculum factor (PC = 0.705 and 0.130, respectively). However, the indirect effects led to DImax variation, while the dilution effect on host (CC = 0.154) from weed in wild plants led to the indirect effect size in wild plants of 0.200, which was lower than −0.699 in cultivated plants.

Abstract:
The vendors on the street are unorganized. They are solitary workers who rely on the sale of goods and services on urban streets to support their livelihoods. Many people sacrificed their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, and these people faced many issues for survival. To uplift their livelihood, the Government of India & Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs introduced the scheme “Pradhan Mantri Street Vendor’s Atmanirbhar Nidhi Yojana (PM–SVA Nidhi)” on June 01, 2020. This paper attempts to study the awareness and perceptions regarding the implementation of the PM SVA Nidhi Yojana for street vendors in Meerut City. A total of 150 street vendors from Meerut were selected with the help of a convenience sampling technique. The latent constructs are described using the partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) approach, with sufficient empirical support for the hypothesized correlations between awareness and perception. The study's outcome revealed that there is a significant relationship between the awareness and perception of street vendors concerning the PM-SVANidhi scheme. Insights into awareness and perception patterns among street vendors could affect communication theories, such as how information spreads and influences behavior in underserved communities. The study reveals the awareness and perception patterns among street vendors. Policymakers can use these insights to enhance the scheme's effectiveness.

In the context of heterogeneity, almost all partial least squares path modeling (PLS-PM) approaches focus on differences in the causal relationships between the latent variables. The principal goal is to detect segments that have different path coefficients in the structural model, yet inadequate attention is generally given to the measurement model. Thus, anytime that we define specific sub-models for different groups of individuals, we may wonder if the latent variables are the same in all detected sub-models. Taking this into consideration, the problem of invariance arises, meaning that if the estimation of latent variables are specific in each sub-model, there is reasonable doubt regarding whether we can compare the distinct behavior of individuals who belong to two different segments. In this paper, we present an invariance test as a possible solution, whereby the goal is to verify whether or not the measurement models of each sub-model may be assumed equal among themselves.

Abstract:
This article examines the socio-economic situation of families with children with disabilities, who are considered vulnerable social groups in global social policy. The purpose of the paper is to assess the set of constraints faced by families with children with disabilities in Kazakhstan and the factors, including environmental factors, that have a significant impact on them. The authors use a sociological survey of respondents in five regions of Kazakhstan and subsequently process the results using statistical methods. The survey is based on a methodological approach based on the identification of four types of constraints: direct costs, indirect losses/costs, assessment of the ability to find a job, and assessment of the ability to maintain a parent's health. The authors conduct structural modeling using the PLS-PM model, in which four types of constraints are set as dependent variables. The model allowed eight hypotheses to be confirmed, of which six identify significant factors and the other two reflect the relationships among the dependent variables in the model.

Abstract:
How and why customers engage with mobile travel apps is vital to mobile marketing of travel-related companies. This paper discusses the antecedents and consequences of mobile travel app engagement. Specifically, this study aims to understand how travel app attributes stimulate mobile travel app engagement and lead to purchase intention. A research model is established based on the Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) model and the model is tested by Partial Least Squares Path Modeling (PLS-PM). The results show that ease of use, compatibility, and UI attractiveness positively influence mobile travel app engagement, and in turn, affect purchase intention. Furthermore, a multi-group analysis shows that the attributes affecting mobile travel app engagement differ across different customer groups. This paper discusses some theoretical and practical implications.

Abstract:
This study examines the impact of environmental uncertainty and integrative strategy on growth of firm performance through the mediating role of the Business Model Transformation (BMT) strategy of information communication technology (ICT) in Indonesia. The research data was collected from the executive management of ICT through survey research with 30 questionnaire surveys and exploratory study with seven company leaders through in-depth interviews. This study analyzes the suitability of the overall model through causal relationships using Partial Least Square-Path Modeling (PLS-PM). The results show that the BMT predominantly influences the growth of ICT companies. The BMT is predominantly built by the environmental uncertainty (ET) strategy rather than by integrative capability. Thus, companies need to improve their ability and creativity to anticipate and adapt to any uncertainty that unexpectedly results in dynamic competition.

This study was conducted to empirically test the influence of supply chain management, the use of technological innovation, and supply chain collaboration on the operational performance of coffee houses. This type of research is quantitative research. The population used in this study is the population of all Coffee Houses in Ambon City. The sample used in this study is 30 coffee house owners who have implemented the use of technological innovation. Sampling in this study uses porposive sampling technique. By using a question instrument (questionnaire) to obtain primary data from the owners of Coffee Houses in Ambon City. The data obtained was then analyzed using partial least square (PLS) in testing structural equation modeling (SEM) with the help of XLSTAT PLS-PM 2014 software. The results of the study prove that: 1) Supply chain management has a positive relationship with the operational performance of coffee houses in the city of Ambon. 2) Technological innovation does not have a positive relationship with the operational performance of coffee houses in the city of Ambon. 3) Supply chain collaboration has a positive relationship with the operational performance of coffee houses in the city of Ambon.

Abstract:
The energy invested in research in this topic is justified by the fact that the lack of optimal integration between SM (sales-marketing) can negatively affect overall corporate efficiency. The aim of this article is to present possible research methods that can reveal the impact of selected indicators, such as information exchange, coordination, vision and communication, conflicts, on the operation of the SM interface, according to Hungarian and foreign employees of international companies, and how they affect sales and marketing collaboration between pharmaceutical companies (PMC) and non-pharmaceutical companies (NPMC). It also attempts to demonstrate how the Partial Least Square (PLS) path modeling technique can provide valuable information on the consequences of management activity, and how the methods provided by Voyant Tools provide further research through quantitative analysis of qualitative data on the marketing sales interface (SMI), they can open up opportunities. The PLS-PM modeling technique was used to explore the relationships between the selected factors and possible hidden variables. These results clearly demonstrate that there are factors that influence SM collaboration that operate differently in PMCs and NPMCs, and that nationality differences can have a significant impact on how employees evaluate factors that affect SM collaboration. Of the methods we selected by Voyant Tools, the t-SNE (t-Distributed Stochastic Neighbour Embedding) tool proved to be the most sophisticated analysis, allowing the deepest analyzes by exploring relationships between groups of terms.

Abstract:
The construction industry has been significantly transformed by the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM), which has facilitated extensive project management capabilities across the entire life cycle. Notwithstanding its advantages, there exist certain limitations that hinder its extensive implementation. This study aims to investigate the disparities related to the adoption of Building Information Modeling (BIM) by conducting a thorough analysis of factors such as data interoperability, standardization, collaboration, skill gaps, and resistance to change. The data were collected through a preliminary pilot survey and a primary questionnaire. The collected data were then subjected to analysis using two statistical techniques: Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). This study reveals noteworthy associations between the adoption of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and several crucial factors, including Continuous Integration (CI), Monitoring and Control (MC), Project Management (PM), Resolution and Performance (RP), Structural Management (SM), Sustainability Administration (SA), and Value Management (VM). This study provides valuable insights for professionals and policymakers, offering recommendations to enhance the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and advocating for additional research on complementary factors. Through the identification and subsequent resolution of recognized shortcomings, Building Information Modeling (BIM) can be employed in a proficient manner to augment collaboration, mitigate costs, optimize energy efficiency, and implement sustainable construction methodologies. The present study makes a substantial contribution to the progress of Building Information Modeling (BIM) adoption and the efficient management of construction project life cycles.

Abstract:
Abstract This paper presents an empirical relationship among exploration, exploitation, and organizational coordination mechanisms, classified as the centralization of decision-making, formalization, and connectedness. In order to analyze the findings of this survey, we used two techniques: Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Partial Least Squares Path Modeling (PLS-PM). Our analysis was supported by 249 answers from managers of companies located in Brazil (convenience sampling). Contrary to expectations, centralization and exploitation were negatively associated. Our data supports the research hypothesis that formalization is positively associated with exploitation. Although the relationship between formalization and exploration were significant, the result is contrary to the research hypothesis that we made. The relationships among connectedness and exploitation, and connectedness and exploration were both positive and significant. This relationship means that the more connectedness increases, the higher the likelihood of exploitation and exploration.
