Full textThe premises of our research can be described through a two-fold professional challenge. The France is under-equipped in terms of removable containers. What should be done to reduce this handicap? The S. C. M. (Supply Chain Management or global logistics) software are out of reach for small and midsize companies. How can they be organized in order to make them accessible? Our paper is designed in five parts: the introduction presents the teilhardian weltanschauung, the axiomatic of our research, the refutations of the "true thought", the modelling leads of the object and, the validation by the satisficing. The theoretical corpus of out thesis is founded on three theories : the constructivism, the General System, Simon "administrative " theory. We chose the field of the consular Chambers. We realized that the construction from scrap of a network is not realistic in the context of our thesis which led us to propose the systemic metaphor of the "Chambre de métiers" of Haute-Savoie

Full textIt was only in 1983 that the financial community took interest in middle sized firms with the creation of the second market. This new ceaseless structure replies to the wishes of the managers of these firms. For the generalization of this phenomena, all the financial middlemen (banks, stockbrokers, local stock-exchange. . . . ) have to put the emphasis on : prospection, informations, advices. In fact, getting in stock-exchange musn't be an unthinkly decision. Each firm muste be regarded as one particular case whiche requier a deep analysis. The key to success states on the elaboration of a complete get in dossier. This will end at the establishement of the real market price of the share. Yet, one hundred and sixtie companies have been welcomed on the second market ("hors cote d'acclimation" excluded) this situation allowed the financial market to regenerate itself with new younger companies

Full textEconomic and social information is becoming more and more important in modern societies. Applied to an enterprise it constitutes an essential flow in the enterprise system. But if big firms have ways and means to treat this information, it is not the same for the smaller and the medium. So our duty consisted to replace this information in the context of ivoirian small and medium-sized enterprises. Thus, in a first part consecrated to ivoirian economy, we proved in spide of the crisis which is persisting for ten years, the authorities are trying to initiate promotion for these enterprises. For this purpose, a lot of assistance and promotion organisms have been created, but their results are too far from the expectations. However very few smes do master the notions related to these concepts : one always mixes up the information system with the monitoring, or the technological monitoring with the strategic monitoring, or else the strategic monitoring with the strategic analysis. Furthermore when companies are asked about their strategic monitoring system, statement can be made that they set up actions without identifying them : they seem to use strategic monitoring practices, and so believes the management, but they experience great difficulty making an inventory of such pratices. Consequently these actions may be redundant or ineffective or may lack of synergy, which treatens the company's preparing for present and future stakes. The present thesis aims at outlining a few answers to these questions. First of all, the theoretical elaboration of a strategic monitoring system is put forward in order to clarify the concepts studied. Secondly the system is "re-visited" thanks to experimentation. It consists on the one hand in proposing a specific diagnosis methodology of smes' strategic monitoring practices, and on the other hand in developing the identified system through a planning methodology. Lastly, after experimentation, the elaborated system is enriched by outlining the role of management tools and actors, which allows to strengthen the dynamic aspect of the proposed system

Full textThe thesis focuses on the following issue : "How and with what level of success can management systems based on processes be implemented in SMEs ?" The studied systems are quality models such as ISO 9000 standards or TQM (Total Quality Management). But more targeted systems are also examined such as JIT (Just-in-time) or ABM (Activity based Management). The research is based on an empirical study carried out within two Alsatian SMEs during a four year period, as part of a contract between these companies and the BETA laboratory. First, the apparent incompatibility between management tools and the flexible nature of small organizations leads to analyse the content of the process management tools and to question about their universal characteristic. Then, if the instruments can actually be adapted to SMEs specificities, what do we know about the implementation unfolding ? The decision to launch the implementation project is made by the head of the firms, who follows it through. So, it is important to understand who is the entrepreneur or the manager and how he interacts with his environment. By observing real behaviours, key-factors can be recognized in order to explain the success or the failure of management systems implementation in SMEs, in particular the roles of internal and external "relay runners" of the project

Full textSmall and mid-sized firms are often confronted with problems of management beyond their human and material resources. One of the major expectations of executives is help from consultants to solve such problems. Accounting specialists are naturally called on by such firms. However, nowadays they aren't ready to satisfy executives's expectations. They feel the need for specific approachs and tools to ease their professional evolution towards more general managerial solutions for such firms. Considering this situation, we've formulated a research problem that takes into account the following points : the specificity of consulting activity to small and mid-sized firms and the development process of such organizations. Then we proposed a solution resulting from action research into the issue so as to conceptualize, formalize and validate a method of overall business diagnosis. By enriching first then making systematic hither-to-fore dispersed and fragmentary knowledge, we have filled in the gaps on knowledge as far as consulting activities towards small and mid-sized firms, as well as contributing to e better understanding of their transitional problems

Full textStrategies and modern development methods are an integral part of the world-wide environment. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) face new challenges and find themselves in a position to confront them in order to survive. We therefore found it significant to focus on the SMEs in Lebanon , a country living under permanent risk of war since 1975, located in an area impacted by conflicts of all kinds for several decades. As a result, the country bows under the weight of a lasting economical crisis, which on hand influences these SMEs by a decrease in demand, the consequence of a fall in consumer's purchasing power, and on the other hand, the decline of competitiveness. An essential modernity expression is illustrated in the internet phenomenon. Its application on SMEs and SMI (small and medium industries) is unavoidable, leading to the need of a study of the impact and difficulties causes by this application, as well as the Lebanese SMEs keys to success, and lastly to propose solutions that can be adapted in terms of strategy. Several topics have been studied through our thesis, including whether the new international economy, and moreover the massive development of the giant multinational businesses, jeopardize the Lebanese SMEs, as well as the data processing techniques adoption requirement in the SMEs activities structure, especially in the online business application , and the SMEs capacity to exceed the Lebanese frontier. In response to these points, we produced a theoretical framework to identify the specificities of Lebanese SMEs facing the globalization movement. We created an SME as our case study, the objective being to experiment with a geographical zone in order to expand the SMEs activities to embrace the planet. This experience permitted the noting of several observations for a different perspective on the globalization process, and subsequently an adopted tactics test and the evaluation of our strategy by defining and justifying the selected method, the observations to be collected and the analysis method used. The ultimate point raised in our thesis was the creation of a barometer with an aim of measuring the performance of SMEs in Lebanon, a step encouraged by several international factors, particularly the 2008 international economic crisis which originated in United States

These relations improved between cooperation and conflict and became partnership. The goals of this research are to analyse strategic alignment of suppliers, small and medium size firms, to great distribution network and to propose a theoretical and conceptual model of strategic alignment processus and result. Data collection over 80 trench distributors and measurement brought model validation. Main investigation results show that mutual partnership informations as conflicts solution and a better logistic communication of EDI improve network fidelity. Stability and effectiveness. About distribution business, these factors can explain a stable supplier group life. About suppliers business, network partnership is stabilized to keep market entrance. On a theoretical and conceptual plan, this model can explain network members entrance and keeping. Keys words: great distribution, EDI, information systems management, network. Full textWe have studied electro-optical properties of both wurtzite and zinc-blende gallium nitride (GaN), which is, presently, the most promising material for blue light emitting diodes applications. Samples characterized in this study are epitaxial layers deposited on different substrates with large mismatch of lattice parameter and thermal expansion coefficient. First, the intrinsic-optical material properties are studied by photoluminescence and photoreflectance. The evolution of excitonic recombination energies with both residual strain and temperature is observed. Moreover, the effect of a high doping level on band edge transitions is shown. Particularly, we evidenced an auto-compensation phenomenon in highly silicon-doped layers. In a second part, we studied defect-related photoluminescence transitions, which are correlated with sample growth conditions or doping. In undoped or magnesium doped layers, similarities between deep luminescence bands in zinc-blende and in wurtzite GaN are shown. Using these results, we analyse p-n GaN junction electroluminescence of both polytypes. The third part is devoted to electrical studies of hexagonal phase GaN Shottky diodes and p-n junctions. We analyse current-conduction mechanisms, and evidence several deep levels in GaN bandgap, which may be involved in radiative recombination mechanism. Our results allow a better understanding of electrical conduction and radiative recombination mechanisms in GaN-based optoelectronic devices, and a forecast of the influence of material growth conditions on the device performance

Full textMechatronics seems to be a source of organizational renewal as well as providing access to new markets characterized by the growing digitization of products and services. A question arises then: are organizations engaged in mechatronic design and production activity specific? And if so, within a broader context of Industrie 4.0, markedly digitized, can we provide a framework with guidelines that can be applied by the small and medium sized traditional mechanical organizations in order to position themselves in relation to this framework and consider to adopt a plan of actions and evolve towards mechatronics? This survey focuses on 5 noteworthy case studies that already have acquired a good mechatronic maturity level. The study enabled us to establish a relationship between the mechatronicity level of a product and the processes these organizations have put into practice in order to design and manufacture mechatronic products. More markedly yet, we have come to the conclusion that mechatronic products can be seen as levers to the creation of service offerings and thus push these companies to change their business models. We therefore propose that the latter should be managed by modern tools like the Business Motivation Model, for example. As the matter of fact, the BMM is a flexible and therefore suitable management tool for these mechatronic service oriented production systems (PSS). A service oriented architecture (SOA) of an organization then has to be planned, and we find that the business motivation model (BMM) is suitable for bridging these organizational architecture challenges.Specifically, we propose two practical and simple tools that can be seen as internal audit tools for any organization wanting to assess its competencies in mechatronics prior to plan future developments: on the one hand we elaborate metrics to assess the mechatronicity level of a product and a model assessing the mechatronic maturity level of the organization on the other.More broadly, this survey enables us to see mechatronics as a sequential evolution starting with a mechanical mono-domain product without communication abilities which develops to a multi domain digitized product communicating with other systems. The intermediate evolution phases are analogue basic electronic instrumentation, followed by digital electronics and embedded computing. The latter represents the real transition to mechatronics and drives the whole organization towards the digitization of its products and also its means of production and thus towards Industrie 4.0. This can also be seen as a proposal of a taxonomy of mechatronics

Full textKnowledge Capitalisation is a process which aims to identify, to collect and to make usable, whatever the context, all the knowledge acquired by an organisation. The research work presented in this report is a study about the foundations of Knowledge Capitalisation Systems (KCS) and, more particulary, adapted to the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) industrial context. First of all, we show the relevancy of KCS in the field of enterprise knowledge management already endowed with systems stemming from Information Systems and Knowledge Base Systems. We argue this statement mainly on the distinction between Information and Knowledge. Consequently to this we propose a classification of approaches and tools for Knowledge Management Systems. Up to now, Knowledge Capitalisation Systems elaborated in France were mostly developed for/by very large enterprises. Such a fact may underlines the SME position considering knowledge capitalisation project

Full textStudies on occupational health and safety performance in small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) are quite recent (mostly dating from the period after the 1990s). Although they are highly heterogeneous for they considerably vary in the approaches and the methods used, they all put into emphasis the vulnerability of these organisations when dealing with occupational health and safety issues. Enterprises of less than 50 employees are indeed more particularly exposed to such risks. An international review of the literature has put into light the internal and external determinants of health and safety management in this kind of organisations. The purpose of this thesis is to classify them and depict the way they interact to give a comprehensive representation of the determination of the level of prevention of occupational risks in SMEs. In a second part, a preventive action has been carried out on the basis of these determinants. It was based on a collective action which involved the chamber of commerce, health and safety technicians and the labour inspectorate. This pilot action has allowed the carrying out of a qualitative research in order to assess the device aforesaid but also to implement the results and conclusions of the international studies in the French companies. This survey has raised a new debate over the sustainability in SMEs and led to a questioning on the actors who are implement the prevention plan of prevention. A second qualitative survey has been carried out in a small and medium-sized enterprise in order to understand occupational health and safety management

Full textThe analysis of export behaviour models developped in previous studies shows that there are certain export behaviour patterns like learning behaviour, step-by-step approach, articulated formal preparation, and possible link between these behaviours and export performance. A field study involving 58 small and medium sized companies in the aquitaine region of france was conducted to investigate these behaviour pattenrs. The findings show that the smc used in the study exhibit learning behaviour especially in the industrial companies. There was evidence of step-by-step behaviour which tended to be the same for developing, newly industrialised and industrialised countries market. The study did not observe any standard or universal sequence of this step-by-step behaviour. The sequence observed depended rather on the particular situation of the company, its ojectives and the personality of the company's founder. Shis enabled us to conclude that there is no universal and exhaustively determined number of steps in exporting that can be recommanded toan export manager. The study showed also a limited number of companies exhibit a formal behaviour approach while an important majority show a negative attitude towards the concept because to them it connotes theorising and bureaucracy. As for the links between these behaviour and export efficiency, only weak links were established. The managerial implications and limites of these results were underlined. Finally the study. .

Full textThe aim of this thesis is the study of transnational cooperation agreements between european SME managers. Their setting-up and functioning are analysed through four case studies. Four variables have been used to study the process : the will to cooperate explained by the interest in cooperating, trust and commitment. The thesis has six chapters. The first three define the european SME and cooperation agreements from a conceptual, theoretical and classification point of view. The fourth describes the qualitative inductive approach we have selected. The last two chapters focus on the analysis of the data collected and the generation of a substantial theory. The results show that the interest in cooperating and trust are perceptual, partially rationalized variables that influence commitment. They are both results and prerequisites. Collective and individual interests as well as personal and mutual trust have to be considered. These two variables can also be deleterious factors. Other results are the search for flexibility a regional rather than a national approach, the non oppotunistic behaviour of the managers involved, the co-influence of partners and other actors, the lack of correlation between durability and success, cessation and failure of the cooperation agreements that have been studied

Full textOver the last 40 years, research on sponsorship has been growing, and so have investments in this communication instrument. Today, worldwide sponsorship investments exceed 55 billion US Dollars (Kantar, 2014), while investments in France total more than two billion Euros (FPI, 2014). Roughly two thirds of these investments concern the area of sport making sport sponsorship one of the most dynamic fields of marketing communication. In the past, research has focused mainly on the impact of sponsorship on the external targets of the sponsor, typically analyzing large multinational companies supporting large scale events with high marketing potential (Olympic games, Soccer World championships, auto racing, etc.). Very few studies have targeted the use sponsorship by SMEs. Moreover, there is a lack of research on the internal consequences of this practice. Our study focuses on the effects of sport sponsorship on the internal public of SMEs by addressing the following question: How do employees of SMEs perceive the little-mediated sponsorship activities of their employers and how are they impacted by them? This work is structured in three parts. First, a literature review about sport sponsorship highlights the theoretical and managerial interests of the research and proposes a definition of sport sponsorship. A qualitative study conducted on 18 directors of SME confirms the managerial interest of this research and sheds light on the potential impact of sport sponsorship on the internal public of this kind of company. Second, based on a qualitative study on 16 employees of SMEs, a data-structure is developed which allows to grasp the organizational identification processes that result from sponsorship activities, and the effects of these activities in terms of job satisfaction and organizational commitment. In a third part, the existence of these effects is further analyzed through a quantitative survey upon 421 employees of 41 different SMEs sponsors. Overall, results show the lack of awareness and the quite confidential use of sport sponsorship within these organizations. From a managerial perspective, our research highlights the optimal conditions required to make effective use of sport sponsorship with minor marketing and sales potential by SMEs

Next, we analyzed the limits of this policy, which has been and is still the basis of the restructuring process of the financial systems, directly related to the financing of SMEs/SMIs. In the second chapter, we studied the content of what is meant when talking about internal financial liberalization, which is at the core of financial system restructuring in the CSSM. At the same time, we explained what external financial liberalization is by examining changes in foreign capital flows bound for the CSSM. In the last chapter, our research has focused, on the one hand, on a statistical and econometric study regarding the growth and the competitiveness of SMEs/SMIs in the current context of globalization and trade, and on the other hand, on business financing and growth in the restructuring programs implemented in the Maghreb countries. As far as this last point is considered, we have developed an original study on a sample of Algerian SMEs and SMIs

Full textThe aims of this thesis is to definite the local factors of differentiation of the territories in the spatial diffusion of IT, especially Internet. It tries to determine the respective roles of companies and their networks, national/local institutions, and finally of the co-operation networks that local firms and institutions have been able to set up together in order to contribute to the appopiation of IT in local SME' s. The frenche situation is examined, in terms of level of IT use and also terms of legislation concerning telecommunication networks. A survey of regional technological policies and of the level of IT appropiation in the SMEs of the two french regions , " Haute Normandie" and " Basse Normandie ", allow us to draw some conclusions. It shows the effects and also the limits of the IT diffusion by both public policies and economical. .

Full textSince 1984 in particular, cameroon has chosen to give priority to the development of small and medium-size industries (smsi) in order to solve the problem of labour employment and training. Beyond its socioeconomic and political foundations theoritically such a choice particularly rests upon two kinds of attributes of smsi which make them be considered as the best adapted to the resolution of this problem particularly in sub-saharian underdeveloped economies: they have a low capital intensity and offer important training opportunities. Though these attributes are regarded as intrinsic caracteristics of smsi, they can be applied generally with difficulty to the whole underdeveloped economies. Then, what about the cameroonian smsi?. . . They have a hight technical level in general, but their capacity to employment and labour training seems to be hampered particularly by the structural, institutionnal and cultural caracteristics that are specific to cameroon's economy. The prupose of this thesis is to show that the contribution of smsi to labour employment and training which is already the most substancial in industry-measured in statics as well as in dynamics-, can be raised and optimized. Thus two policies must found their development,i. E. , adaptation of the production units to the characteris tics of the cameroonian market and that of products to the socioeconomic and cultural characteristics of populations

Full textPLM (Product Lifecycle Management) Systems allow traceability of information and facilitate the reduction of products development cycle. Besides the aspect related to information management, they aim at bringing together all technical data needed to develop new products and also they contribute to improve business processes. Our PhD work define a methodology of PLM system deployment that incorporates the knowledge capitalization dimension. Based on a business processes formalization, elements of knowledge are extracted and used to enrich the data model. This model revolves around two axes: an "information" axis and a "knowledge"axis. Each axis is devided into four steps: identify, model, use and evaluate. The identification stage is to define the data model of the system and activities requiring specific business knowledge. The modeling phase is to configure the system to integrate the defined model in the PLM system but also to formalize extracted tacit knowledge. Then comes the user through the use of the system. Finally, we propose to evaluate the system from product, process and organization modeling but also from generated knowledge within the system. The case study of a process of bidding for the Marmillon SAS company which is a subcontractor in the field of plastics, specialist of injection and extrusion processes for automotive parts allow to validate our approach
