Full textThe planet is affected by increments of CO2 emissions in the environment, global warming and climate change. These processes generate secondary impacts, like sea level rise, due to the melting of polar layers, mountain glaciers and oceanic thermal expansion, which generate impacts on the coast, such as coastal erosion, floods, among others. In Peru, despite the fact that the coast is home to more than 55% of the population, anthropic pressure and its consequent coastal vulnerability and sea level rise impacts to have not been identified due to lack of research. The main objective of this thesis was to identify the coastal vulnerability of Máncora, Los Órganos and Punta Sal, by applying a Coastal Vulnerability Index (IVC), in order to reduce vulnerability, protect infrastructure and human lives. The research questions were the following: What is the variability of the coastline in the study area? Which sectors are more or less vulnerable to coastal erosion within this area? Which physical and socioeconomic variables should be taken into account to characterize and study the coastal vulnerability in the study area? What is the impact and contribution of the selected variables to the coastal vulnerability? Does the Coastal Vulnerability Index method, through the use of GIS, identify priority coastal protection zones? What limitations does it present? To answer this questions and archive the objectives, it was necessary to characterize geomorphologically and socioeconomically the study area in order to identify possible variables for the analysis in the IVC. In this way, the final variables could be determined according to the vulnerability, with three physical variables: slope, geomorphology and coastline variation and three socioeconomic variables: land use, population density and distance from the infrastructure to the coastline. Different tools and methods were used for the analysis of vulnerability, such as the use of aerial photographs and satellite images, field measurements and sediment analysis in the laboratory. The processing, analysis and illustration was made in the geographic information system Arcmap. The results obtained indicate that of the three sub-areas studied (SAE), the most vulnerable are SAE 1 and 2, followed by SAE 3 with a "Low" vulnerability. It was also obtained that the physical variables such as slope, geomorphology and population density had a contribution to vulnerability, while coastal variability and land use did not generate a significant change. The combination of the variables was effective, but great consideration should be given to the classification of these variables. Finally, this thesis presents a first approach to coastal vulnerability through the application of IVC in the studied area, identifying the main factors that reduce or increase this vulnerability. It also contributes to generate a geodatabase of information of the study area for future investigations on coastal vulnerability, municipal management plans, among others.

Full textThe aim of the study was to analyze the goals and wellbeing values of the farmers beneficiaries of Sierra Productiva program in La Libertad region of Peru. For this reason, 31 interviews were conducted using the wellbeing emic components guide made by Yamamoto (2004). As a result, the following goals were observed: Good Agriculture, Family, Getting Money and Development. In addition, the values found were Share and support, Do not generate conflicts and respect, Contribute to the community and Work. Therefore, it is understood that values are transversal and dynamic components for each goal proposed by the interviewers. In addition, the goals found are oriented towards the development of the closest in-group (the family), while values oriented towards the community. Our finding shows the different levels of importance of the social groups to which the individual belongs.

Full textThe present research is part of a construction project of a modular rural housing with sustainable installations based on the reality of the Province of Huancabamba, district of Sondorillo, Piura. The contribution of this work is based on the treatment of reliable and existing data from the place under study to determine the supply of renewable resources of greater predominance, such as solar, wind and rainwater resources; with the purpose of carrying out the design of the electrical and sanitary installations of the modular housing proposed taking into account the reality of their needs that they demand. The present thesis was carried out based on the analysis methodology with information from different sources such as research at ends. With this, the treatment and analysis of the existing data is done taking as a base data provided in the official page of NASA, SENAMHI and the ANA. The estimation of global solar energy was determined by the Bristow - Campbell method, resulting in a profitable value of 4.98 kW/m2. The average value of wind speed of the place was made by the distribution of Weilbull, resulting in a value of 6.32 m/s at a height of 6 m. Also, the rainwater collection proposal is developed to be derived only to the toilet of the house where it will be treated by means of a biodigester of 600 L of capacity, obtaining with it a better quality of the hygienic service for the resident in the rural area. The results were used to design the electrical and sanitary installations, where it was determined that by means of the electrical demand of the house it is necessary to have only one solar panel of 150 Wp to supply all the electrical appliances. Likewise, it is evident that the wind turbine can supply up to 11 homes with the calculated electrical demand. So it is concluded that despite the fact that the place under study has a notorious lack of electricity, water and sewage services, it is supported that they are fortunate to have highly viable renewable resources for their use and investment.
