This article proposes to treat literature as a template of the collective imagination. The basis for discussion is Polish prose from 1986–2016, with the main thesis being that Polish culture has reached the limits of geographical imagination. This is the result of Poland withdrawing from the larger structures to which it once belonged or to which it aspired (its diminishing presence in the European Union, the disappearance of Central Europe, delayed efforts to pursue the Scandinavian model of the state and civic culture, the destruction of relations with Lithuania, Belarus and Ukraine). Sangiampongsa, Pisanu. Welfare policy and social justice : policy result and attitude toward policy change. Chulalongkorn University, 2005. https://doi.org/10.58837/chula.res.2005.31.

Abstract:
The extent and substance of social welfare policy have been a contentious issue. Academic discipline, culture, and values all contribute to the argument for and against it. Within the issue is also the question regarding the amplitude of government’s role in social welfare policy, which is a form of state intervention. The issue is not only philosophical, but also requires resource relocation. Since the social resource is scare, its relocation means taking some from certain individuals and giving it to others. Since the appropriate level of welfare is hard to determine, this study proposes to

Wang, Chih-Hao, and Na Chen. Do Multi-Use-Path Accessibility and Clustering Effect Play a Role in Residents' Choice of Walking and Cycling? Mineta Transportation Institute, 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.31979/mti.2021.2011.

Full text
Abstract:
The transportation studies literature recognizes the relationship between accessibility and active travel. However, there is limited research on the specific impact of walking and cycling accessibility to multi-use paths on active travel behavior. Combined with the culture of automobile dependency in the US, this knowledge gap has been making it difficult for policy-makers to encourage walking and cycling mode choices, highlighting the need to promote a walking and cycling culture in cities. In this case, a clustering effect (“you bike, I bike”) can be used as leverage to initiate such a trend

Abstract:
As sea levels rise, 100-year floods occur more frequently than ever, and permafrost melts at unprecedented rates, these phenomena (and others) inflict change in our environment that may necessitate action. Proactive measures against environmental threats include protection, accommodation, and relocation. Protective and accommodating actions such as building sea walls and elevating structures can often be sufficient, but some communities may be at greater risk for hazards. Managed retreat is a tool for community adaptation to repeated environmental threats that involves the physical relocation

Abstract:
The article presents Polish-German film relations in the framework of Nazis cultural diplomacy between 1933 and 1939. The Nazi effort to create a cultural hegemony through the unification of the European film market under German leadership serves as an important point of reference. On the example of the Polish-German relationship, the article analyses the Nazi “soft power” in terms of both its strength and limits. Describing the broader geopolitical context, the article proposes a new trail in the research on both the film milieus and the cinema culture in Poland in the 1930s. In mythological

This literature review summarises evidence from education research to describe and compare different modes of professional learning. It applies the findings to the question: ‘what works best, and for whom’ in terms of modes of professional learning for Australian teachers, with particular focus on early childhood teachers, casual relief teachers and teachers in rural and remote teaching contexts. A key professional learning challenge common to these teachers is isolation – which can be physical, pedagogical, technological and/or social isolation.
