Abstract:
Political Parties, William Cross, The Canadian Democratic Audit series; Vancouver, UBC Press, 2004, pp. 218.Political Parties is part of the Canadian Democratic Audit series. The expressed aim of the series is to “examine the way Canadian democracy functions” using three benchmarks, “public participation, inclusiveness and responsiveness,” with the principle output being not so much a report card but the desire to “encourage ongoing discussion of how best to fashion Canada's democratic institutions and practices well into the new century” (http://www.mta.ca/faculty/arts-letters/canadian_studies/cda/pdf/demaudit_overview_15aug.pdf). Cross's short, readable volume achieves these objectives.

Abstract:
One of the tales told about American political parties is that Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, desiring to create an institution uniting sup-porters of their beliefs about the means and ends of government, set off from their Virginia plantations on what was described to inquisitive journalists as an expedition to gather botanical specimens. Instead of collecting specimens, however, they are alleged to have created the original specimen of the modern political party.

Abstract:
Political representation in most Western democracies occurs through and by political parties. Based on parallel surveys of voters and party elites in nine West European nations, this article examines how well parties perform their representation role. The opinions of voters and party elites are compared for 40 party dyads. In some cases there is close correspondence between these opinions (e.g., economic and security issues), but in other instances the evidence of voter-party agreement is substantially weaker (e.g., foreign policy). An examination of party characteristics and contextual factors suggests that the clarity of party positions, represented by a centralized party structure and noncentrist ideology, strongly influences the efficiency of the party linkage process.

Abstract:
This article examines the development of the multiparty system in Uzbekistan, highlighting the key stages and milestones since independence. It outlines the role of political parties in fostering democratic governance and representing the interests of diverse social groups in society. The paper explores the historical formation of political parties in Uzbekistan, from the cessation of the one-party system to the establishment of legal frameworks that empower political parties in shaping state power. The emergence of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan is discussed as a significant event in the country’s evolving political landscape. Furthermore, the article addresses the current challenges faced by political parties, including the lack of political ideology, limited public awareness of political rights, and the need for improved competition among parties. The author argues that enhancing the legal foundation of parties and increasing their involvement in governance is essential for deepening democratic reforms. The article concludes with recommendations to strengthen political party participation, foster public trust, and promote active competition in Uzbekistan’s political system.

Abstract:
Party system is the important factor in the working of representative form of Government. India is a democratic state. In the democratic state, political parties are said to be the life – blood of democracies. Modern democracies are indirect in character. They can function with the help of political parties. In the absence of political parties democracy cannot deliver the goods. Well organized political parties constitute the best form of democracy. India has the largest democracy in the world. It introduced universal adult franchise as the basis of voting right in the country. Now the voting age has been lowered down to 18. Most of the Indian voters are not politically matured and they do not have the political education in the proper sense. Political parties in India are classified by the Election Commission of India. It was classified for the allocation of symbol. The Election Commission of India classified parties into three main heads: National parties, State parties and registered (unrecognized) parties.

Abstract:
Abstract. This article focuses on personal relationships as the basis of Athenian political groups. Any study of political life in antiquity indeed invites us to raise the question of the existence of political parties in the modern sense of the term. Were there structured organizations, similar to those known today, equipped with a renewable and permanent apparatus, guided by a coherent if not rigorous political program? In other words, were politically active citizens divided into political parties or not? Historiography has been skeptical about the possibility of identifying, in Greek political experience, structures comparable to today's political parties. The term group would better fit the major trends of Athenian political opinion, and only personal, family, and friendship relations remained paramount for most of the century for those who wished to play an important political role within the city. Keywords: Political groups, Political partis, Athens, Classical period.

Abstract:
The subyecf of the analysis is the methods of party research, which is reflected in the topic of the article. The риг- pose of the scientific analysis of the research methodology of political parties is a complete and comprehensive analysis of the methods used in the study of political parties, taking into account the changing research methods of such a dynamically changing political institution as the party. The basis of the political science analysis of the methodology of political parties is the study of the appropriate methods used by scientists in the research of the parties1 activities, setting their goals and objectives. Political parties have their own organizational basis, their own charter, program, leaders, their own goals and objectives and perform certain functions. One of the goals of any political party is to participate in the political life of society, in solving its issues. Political parties today are of wide scientific and research interest and are therefore studied from all sides. The methods used in the study of such a political phenomenon as a party are quite diverse and original, taking into account the emergence of new political technologies, such as the Internet and information technology. Parties occupy an intermediate position between society and the state, being the main institution of civil society, constantly developing and filling political life with dynamics. The inconsistency of the party phenomenon development leads to methodological difficulties in the study of political parties, which in the most generalized form can be formulated as the ambiguity of the manifestation of everything related to politics, the versatility of political phenomena. The article attempts to analyze the most common methods of research of political parties today

Abstract:
ABSTRACT Political parties advocating transhumanist ideas have recently sprung up in a great number of countries, supported by rapid technological and scientific progress. This article examines whether any of the various frameworks of niche party theory can adequately describe transhumanist parties. It is discussed how the nicheness of transhumanist parties can be conceptualized. After determining the common set of issues that ideologically diverse transhumanist political organizations accentuate, this article conducts a qualitative analysis to justify the “proto-nicheness” of transhumanist parties within the spatial and salience theories. Two new accounts will be put forward based on Bischof’s consumer market analogy and Hughes’s three-dimensional conceptualization of contemporary politics.
