Great attention has been given to the synthesis of monodispersed and uniform colloidal polymer particles with controllable particle sizes. However, investigations on the preparation, characterization and fabrication of polydisperse polymeric particles are very few. Polydisperse polymers are also needed to meet the new demands of the modern markets due to the ease of their synthesis. This study, therefore, synthesized polydispersed poly(styrene-methyl-methacrylate acrylic-acid) (P(St-MMA-AA)) via emulsion polymerization synthetic approach under unstable reaction conditions. In recent years an indubitable progress has been made in the development of separators for powder fractionating. The development of new types of cascade separators significantly improves the quality of final fractionation products. Consumed material concentration in all types of cascade separators does not exceed, as a rule, two kilograms of solid phase per a cubic meter of air flow. Therefore, to attain high productivities, considerable investments are needed, because for this purpose several apparatuses operating in parallel or apparatuses of large overall sizes are required. Sound absorption of polydisperse heterogeneous porous composites is investigated in this paper. The wave equation in polydisperse heterogeneous porous composites is upscaled by using the two-scale method of homogenisation, which allows the material to be modeled as an equivalent fluid with atypical effective parameters. This upscaled model is numerically validated and demonstrates that the dissipation of sound in polydisperse heterogeneous porous composites is due to visco-thermal dissipation in the composite constituents and multiple pressure diffusion in the polydisperse heterogeneous inclus

The effect of polydispersity of nickel-silver core-shell nanoparticles (Ni-Ag NPs) on the conductivity of ink coatings was studied. Ni-Ag NPs of various average diameters (100, 220, and 420 nm) were synthesized and utilized for the preparation of conductive inks composed of monodisperse NPs and their polydisperse mixtures. The shell thickness of synthesized Ni-Ag NPs was found to be in the range of 10–20 nm and to provide stability of a core metal to oxidation for at least 6 months.
