In this PhD project, the solvent effects on polymorphism were studied. This was done using an enantiotropic compound. By working at the transition temperature of the compound, it allowed for the separation of supersaturation effects from that of the solvent. p-Aminobenzoic acid was chosen as the model compound. p-Aminobenzoic acid (PABA) is an enantiotropic compound with a transitior temperature of 24°C. It has two polymorphs, a needle shaped α-form which is stable above the transition temperature and a prismatic shaped β-form stable below the transition temperature.

AbstractSession types statically describe communication protocols between concurrent message-passing processes. Unfortunately, parametric polymorphism even in its restricted prenex form is not fully understood in the context of session types. In this paper, we present the metatheory of session types extended with prenex polymorphism and, as a result, nested recursive datatypes. Remarkably, we prove that type equality is decidable by exhibiting a reduction to trace equivalence of deterministic first-order grammars. Recognizing the high theoretical complexity of the latter, we also propose a novel type equality algorithm and prove its soundness. We observe that the algorithm is surprisingly efficient and, despite its incompleteness, sufficient for all our examples. We have implemented our ideas by extending the Rast programming language with nested session types. We conclude with several examples illustrating the expressivity of our enhanced type system.

A- A+ The effects of processing conditions and addition of the sucrose esters S-170 and P-170 on crystallization kinetics and polymorphism of cupuassu fat and its fractions obtained at 29, 26, and 24 °C were study by polarized light microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, and in situ small-angle (SAXS) and wide angle (WAXS) X-ray scattering using synchrotron light. Abstract:
The aim of the work was to study the isoenzyme spectra of several lines of haploid regenerants of sugar beet in comparison with the parent forms in order to identify the most interesting ones for further selection. The donor material was the MS-form (malesterile form), haploid lines derived from it, as well as the fertile donor and its haploid lines.It was shown that the spectra of two enzymes − isocitrate dehydrogenase and malic enzyme are polymorphic, and the enzyme 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase is monomorphic and cannot be used in further selection.

We demonstrated imaging identification of pharmaceutical material using a compact ultra-broadband terahertz semiconductor source. We could obtain THz false-color RGB images from plural frequency information. We demonstrated the ability to distinguish the pharmaceutical materials having different crystal forms by using the THz DFG source. Polymorphism, hydrate forms, and crystallinity of pharmaceutical materials can be distinguished using this method.

Using electrophoresis, in 114 recombinant hybrid lines of the mapping population of spring bread wheat and in 2 parental forms, 7 esterase isoenzymes were found: A1-A7 (Mr 93-138 kDa). According to their esterase composition, all samples were subdivided into 17 zymotypes. Isoforms A4 and A6 are pre-sent in all zymotypes, i.e. are monomorphic. The other 5 isozymes provide a high level of polymorphism in the population. The majority of genotypes belong to the zymotype Gr. 1 (27%), which includes 6 isoforms. Among them there are isoforms A1 and A7, characteristic only for each of the parent forms

Here, one hundred and two Brazilian dengue virus (DENV) III patients and controls were genotyped for 322 innate immunity gene loci.
