Polynomial maps attached to polynomials of an Ore extension are naturally defined. In this setting we show the importance of pseudo-linear transformations and give some applications. In particular, factorizations of polynomials in an Ore extension over a finite field 𝔽q[t;θ], where θ is the Frobenius automorphism, are translated into factorizations in the usual polynomial ring 𝔽q[x].

Approximating continuous functions by polynomials is vital to scientific computing and numerous numerical techniques. On the other hand, polynomials can be characterized in several ways using different bases, where every form of basis has its advantages and power. By a proper choice of basis, several problems will be removed; for instance, stability and efficiency can be improved, and numerous complications can be resolved. In this paper, we provide an explicit formula of the generalized shifted Chebyshev Koornwinder’s type polynomial of the first kind, T r * ( K 0 , K 1 ) ( x ) , using the Be

We describe this group in terms of generators and relations and, for every such transformationφ, we prove a formula, which represents the transformationφas a product of generators of the group. To prove this formula, we use birationally equivalent polynomialsAx+By+CandAxp+Byq+Cxrys. This paper shows that orbital equations generated by iteration of polynomial maps do not necessarily have a unique representation. Remarkably, they may be represented in an infinity of ways, all interconnected by certain nonlinear transformations. Five direct and five inverse transformations are established explicitly between a pair of orbits defined by cyclic quintic polynomials with real roots and minimum discriminant. In addition, infinite sequences of transformations generated recursively are introduced and shown to produce unlimited supplies of equivalent orbital equations. Such transform

In this paper, Geronimus transformations for matrix orthogonal polynomials in the real line are studied. The orthogonality is understood in a broad sense, and is given in terms of a nondegenerate continuous sesquilinear form, which in turn is determined by a quasi-definite matrix of bivariate generalized functions with a well-defined support. The discussion of the orthogonality for such a sesquilinear form includes, among others, matrix Hankel cases with linear functionals, general matrix Sobolev orthogonality and discrete orthogonal polynomials with an infinite support. AbstractIn this paper, we derive a matrix of transformation of Chebyshev polynomials of the first kind into Bernstein polynomials and vice versa. We also study the stability of these linear maps and show that the Chebyshev–Bernstein basis conversion is remarkably well-conditioned, allowing one to combine the superior least-squares performance of Chebyshev polynomials with the geometrical insight of the Bernstein form. We also compare it to other basis transformations such as Bernstein-Hermite, power-Hermite, and Bernstein–Legendre basis transformations.

In this thesis numerical integration in one and two dimensions is considered. In chapter two transformation methods are considered primarily for singular integrals and methods of computing the transformations themselves are derived. The well-known transformation based on the IMT rule and error function are extended to non-standard functions. The implementation of these rules and their performances are demonstrated. These transformations are then extended to two-dimensions and are used to develop accurate rules for integrating singular integrals. In addition to this, a polynomial transformation

Multi-dimensional (n-D) systems can be described by matrices whose elements are polynomial in more than one indeterminate. These systems arise in the study of partial differential equations and delay differential equations for example, and have attracted great interest over recent years. Many of the available results have been developed by generalising the corresponding results from the well known 1-D theory. However, this is not always the best approach since there are many differences between 1-D, 2-D and n-D (n > 2) polynomial matrices. This is due mainly to the underlying polynomial ring s

Abstract:
In this dissertation we study groups of automorphisms of rooted trees arising from the transformations of the boundaries of these trees. The boundary of every regular rooted tree can be endowed with various algebraic structures. The transformations of these algebraic structures under certain conditions induce endomorphisms or automorphisms of the tree itself that can be described using the language of Mealy automata. This connection can be used to study boundarytransformations using the propertiesof the induced endomorphisms, or vice versa.
