Abstract:
In this work, the fracture mechanism of winding carbon-fiber-reinforced plastics (CFRPs) based on epoxy matrices reinforced by polysulfone film was investigated. Two types of polymer matrices were used: epoxy oligomer (EO) cured by iso-methyltetrahydrophthalic anhydride (iso-MTHPA), and EO-modified polysulfone (PSU) with active diluent furfuryl glycidyl ether (FGE) cured by iso-MTHPA. At the winding stage, the reinforcing film was placed in the middle layer of the CFRP. The fracture toughness GIR of the obtained CFRP was determined by the double-cantilever beam delamination method. Additionall

Abstract:
ABSTRACTThe cross‐linked polysulfone‐benzoxazine alternating copolymers (PSU‐mBZs) were synthesized by the copolymerization of phenol end‐functionalized polysulfone oligomers (PSU‐OHs) varying molecular weights from 2000 to 5800 g/mol with non‐homopolymerizable methyl substituted benzoxazine (mBZ), respectively. The structures and molecular weights were characterized by FT‐IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and SEC. The results showed that the well‐defined model network was designed and synthesized successfully. Therefore, the precise controls in cross‐linking density, glass transition temperature (Tg), and

AbstractThe synthesis of sequence-regulated oligosulfates has not yet been established due to the difficulties in precise reactivity control. In this work, we report an example of a multi-directional divergent iterative method to furnish oligosulfates based on a chain homologation approach, in which the fluorosulfate unit is regenerated. The oligosulfate sequences are determined by high resolution mass spectrometry of the hydrolyzed fragments, and polysulfate periodic copolymers are synthesized by using oligomeric bisfluorosulfates in a bi-directional fashion. The synthetic utility of this ite

The UV-curable telechelic polysulfones with (meth)acrylate functionalities were synthesized by condensation polymerization and subsequent esterification. The final polymers and intermediates at various stages were characterized by 1H NMR, FT-ATR, and GPC. The oligomeric films prepared from the appropriate solutions containing these telechelics and 2,2-dimethoxy-2-phenylacetophenone (DMPA) as the photoinitiator undergo rapid polymerization upon irradiation forming insoluble networks. The photo-curing behavior was investigated by photo-DSC and the effects of the molecular weight of the polysulfo
