The influence of nanohydroxyapatite on the glass transition region and its activation energy, as well as on the tribological and mechanical properties of polyoxymethylene nanocomposites, was investigated using DMA, TOPEM DSC, nanoindentation, and nondestructive ultrasonic methods. It was found that the glass transition for unmodified POM was in the lower temperature range than in POM/HAp nanocomposites. Moreover,ΔCpand activation energy were larger for POM/HAp nanocomposites. Friction coefficient was higher for POM/HAp nanocomposites in comparison to both POM homopolymer and POM copolymer. Sim

The mechanical properties of fibre reinforced polymer composites strongly depend on the interfacial bonding between fibre and matrix. The main objective of this paper is to compare the interfacial bonding between kenaf fibre reinforced POM with that of PET fibre reinforced POM in a hybrid composite. Continuous twisted kenaf, and PET yarn were used for the investigation. Each fibre yarn was half embedded in POM by compression moulding. The yarns were extracted from the matrix by single fibre pull out test method. The result of the investigation revealed that the interfacial shear strength of ap

Clinical management of NEPC is currently challenging as there are limited treatment options for these patients. These patients are treated with platinum-based chemotherapy that is associated with toxicity and relapses. This emphasizes the need for newer, more effective therapeutic interventions against this challenging disease. Abstract For designing gears reliable strength values are essential. The determination of strength values for the tooth root load-carrying capacity is usually based on experimental fatigue tests in a pulsator due to various advantages compared to back-to-back tests. In contrast to steel gears, it is currently unclear how polymer gears perform in the pulsator test and whether the pulsator test is suitable for determining the tooth root load-carrying capacity of such gears.
