Abstract. We present the main characteristics of the ostracod assemblages of the Maeotian and Pontian stages in the Badislava-Topolog area (Getic Depression). The Maeotian ostracods fauna is represented by few species that populated ephemeral aquatic environments. The Pontian ostracod fauna is more diverse with species that developed in stable brackish lakes. This Pontian fauna is characteristic of the Upper Pontian (Bosphorian) stage. Our results indicate that the Maeotian / Pontian boundary in Arges-Topolog region is marked by a hiatus comprising the latest Maeotian, Early and Middle Pontian

Both groups disappeared at the end of the Meotian (a freshwater episode). The transgression of the Pontian brings about a new fauna (with new morphological structures). Abstract. The boundary between the Pannonian and Pontian (late Miocene) of the Pannonian area is recognised on the basis of ostracod faunas. A comparison is made between the faunas of the Pannonian Basin and the Dacic-Euxine Basin. A transitional fauna with Pannonian elements, but a stronger Pontian component, is described from Cimpia (Romania). This indicates a more gradual transition between the two stages in the Pannonian Basin than in the Dacic-Euxine Basin, where there is a sharp faunal break indicating a period of non-deposition or erosion.

Abstract:
Although Merleau-Ponty never directly addressed the question of technics, over the past three decades, some of the core concepts of his philosophy have profoundly informed digital media discourse, especially in the field of media arts. The problem of embodiment, in particular, represents a keystone for the understanding of the relationship between bodies and technology. This paper seeks to examine the ways in which some of the French philosopher’s key concepts– embodiment, body schema, presence, intertwining, and flesh – have been employed and re-elaborated in the context of media art theory a

Abstract:
The sweetness seismic attribute is a very useful tool for proper description of the depositional environment, reservoir quality and lithofacies discrimination. This paper shows that depositional channels and turbidity sandstones deposited during the Upper Pannonian and Lower Pontian in the Sava Depression can be described using porosity–thickness and sweetness seismic attribute maps. Two studied reservoirs are of Neogene stage (“UP” reservoir of Upper Pannonian age and “LP” reservoir of Lower Pontian age) and located in the Sava Depression, Croatia. Both reservoirs contain medium to fine grain

In this paper the genesis of the Jitia de Jos calcareous oolite (Upper Meotian, Eastern Carpathians, Romania) and its appearance as an intercalation in the Upper Meotian clay-dominated deposits are explained using the Bahama ooid model. According to our hypothesis, the Jitia de Jos ooids accumulated upon an isolated shallow-water platform bordered by deeper water. Under these conditions, strong shallow-water currents removed the suspended clayey material from the ooid platform, while the clayey-silty sediments accumulated in the deeper water surrounding the elevated relief. Abstract:
This article focuses on some essential elements required in an investigation of Merleau-Ponty’s phenomenology from a cosmological perspective. After contexualizing the close link between the interrogations of the world, the dialectic and the negative, and tracing the novelty introduced by the phenomenological approach in this problematic horizon, we seek the roots of the cosmological theme in Merleau-Ponty. This path allows us to highlight the 1955-56 courses on Dialectical Philosophy. In the course of the argument, their importance is twofold: on the one hand, they allow us to highlight the d

Freshwater macrophytes exist in varied life forms for example, emergent, submerged, floating-leaved and free-floating, and some of them have a heterophylly or multiple forms. The intraspecific variation in terms of morphology is common phenomena in macrophytes population; however, specific studies on morphology of freshwater macrophytes are still insufficient, especially in Pontian, Johor. Hence, this study aimed to characterise the freshwater macrophytes based on morphometrics and descriptive characteristics as well as to document their diversity and population. Thus, the morphometric measure

Deep lime stabilization such as lime column, can effectively improve the problematic soft clay through stabilization, settlement reduction and embankment stabilization. Nevertheless, the reduction of lime column load capacity was often encountered due to the column lateral displacement which was induced by high lateral earth pressure in embankments and deep excavation. In order to protect and enhance the mobilization of lime column strength, geotextile encapsulation was proposed for lime column. In this study, large shear box tests were conducted on lime column and geotextile encapsulated lime
