Background: Brain growth requires genetic potential for a conducive environment, low stress levels, stimulation and nutrition. Brain development during the fetal period in the two years of life firstly requires proper stimulation to increase intelligence. Classical music stimulation has been proven to be able to optimally improve brain function and human intellect. Other music that Indonesian people like is pop and religion. Maybe it is possible to pop and religious music can affect the development and growth of the fetal brain. Objective: Analyze the differences of the index of apoptosis Cerebrum and Cerebellum Rattus norvegicus newborn between those stimulated by Mozart, pop, religious music and not stimulated by music during pregnancy. Method: This study was post test only control group design. groups were randomly divided according to the treatment as stimulation of Mozart, pop, religious music and no music was given from the 10th day-gestation with an intensity of 65 dB in a soundproof box for one hour. When 19th day-gestation, Rattus norvegicus mothers were sacrificed then 3 Rattus norvegicus newborn from each mothers were selected and brain was taken to be made immunohistochemical preparations and counted the number of neuron cells apoptosis index. data were analyzed by comparison test with p <0.05. Results: There was a significant difference in the cerebrum neuron apoptosis index newborn between groups p = 0.001 but there was no difference between without exposure and pop music groups p = 0.063 (the lowest mean was the mozart group 2.40 IRS) and there was also difference in the apoptosis index in the cerebellum p = 0,000 but there was no difference between pop music and without exposure group p = 0.151 (the lowest mean was the mozart group 2.34 IRS) Conclusion: Mozart gives a lower apoptotic index than pop music, religion and without exposure music group.

Latar Belakang: Tumbuh kembang otak membutuhkan potensi genetik lingkungan yang kondusif, tingkat stres yang rendah, stimulasi dan nutrisi. Perkembangan otak selama periode janin dan dua tahun pertama kehidupan memerlukan stimulasi yang tepat untuk meningkatkan kecerdasan. Stimulasi musik klasik terbukti dapat meningkatkan fungsi otak dan intelektual manusia secara optimal. Musik lain yang suka didengarkan oleh masyarakat Indonesia adalah pop dan religi. Kemungkinan musik pop dan religi juga dapat mempengaruhi perkembangan dan pertumbuhan otak janin. Tujuan: Menganalisis perbedaan indeks apoptosis Cerebrum dan Cerebellum Rattus norvegicus baru lahir antara yang di stimulasi musik Mozart, pop, religi dan tidak di stimulasi musik selama kebuntingan. Metode: Penelitian ini adalah post test only control grup design. kelompok dibagi secara acak disesuaikan dengan perlakuan yaitu pemberian musik Mozart, pop, religi dan tidak diberikan musik sejak hari ke-10 kebuntingan dengan intensitas 65 dB dalam kotak kedap suara selama satu jam. Kehamilan hari ke 19 tikus bunting dikorbankan, anak tikus dipilih 3 ekor tiapinduk diambil otaknya, dibuat sediaan imunohistokimia dan dihitung jumlah sel neuron yang mengalami apoptosis. Hasil dianalisis uji perbandingan dengan komparasi p<0,05. Hasil: Terdapat perbedaan bermakna indeks apoptosis cerebrum Rattus norvegicus baru lahir antar kelompok p=0,001 namun tidak ada perbedaan kelompok tanpa paparan dengan musik pop p=0,063 (mean terendah adalah kelompok mozart 2,40 IRS) dan terdapat perbedaan indeks apoptosis di cerebellum dengan nilai p=0,000 namun tidak ada perbedaan kelompok tanpa paparan dengan musik pop p=0,151 (mean terendah adalah kelompok mozart 2,34 IRS) Kesimpulan : Mozart memberikan hasil indeks apoptosis lebih rendah dari musik pop, religi dan tanpa pemberian musik.

Background: Intelligence management can produce superior human resources with integrated brain. Mozart music stimulus during pregnancy has been shown to increase the number of neuron of the fetal brain. The study of pop and religious music needs to be improve because they are more popular in Indonesia. Objective: To analyze the differences of number of Neuron in the Cerebrum Rattus norvegicusoffspring that exposed to Mozart, Indonesian pop music and Indonesian religious music during pregnancy. Methods: An experimental study with a post-test only control group design. Groups divide into treatment music groups: Mozart, pop and religious. Treatment in a soundproof room for 1 hour, starting the 10th-day of pregnancy, intensity of 65 dB with a distance of 25 cm from the cage. The number of neuron was counted from HE brain preparations of the head Rattus norvegicusoffspring and analyzed using appropriate statistics test. Results: There were significant differences in the number of neuron of Rattus norvegicusoffspring in cerebrum between groups with p = 0,000 (mean Mozart music group 28.14 ± 3.02, Indonesian pop music 19.71 ± 1.80, Indonesian religious music 24.14 ± 2.91) and Mozart gave a higher number of neuron than Indonesia religious music and Indonesian pop music. Conclusion: Mozart music gave a higher number of neuron in the Cerebrum than Indonesian religious music and Indonesian pop music.

Latar belakang: Pengelolaan kecerdasan otak yang terintegrasi akan menghasilkan SDM yang unggul. Stimulus musik Mozart selama kehamilan terbukti meningkatkan jumlah sel neuron di otak janin. Musik pop dan religi perlu dilakukan penelitian karena lebih populer di Indonesia. Tujuan: Menganalisis perbedaan jumlah sel neuron di Cerebrum Rattus norvegicusbaru lahir antara yang mendapat paparan musik Mozart, musik pop Indonesia dan musik religi Indonesia selama kebuntingan. Metode: Studi eksperimental dengan desain post test only control group. Kelompok perlakuan dibagi menjadi kelompok musik Mozart, musik pop Indonesia dan musik religi Indonesia. Perlakuan di ruang kedap suara selama 1 jam pada malam hari mulai hari ke-10 kebuntingan, intensitas 65 dB dengan jarak 25 cm antara kandang dan speaker. Jumlah sel neuron dihitung dari preparat pewarnaan Hematoxylin-Eosin otak anak Rattus norvegicusdan dianalisis dengan statistik yang sesuai. Hasil: Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada jumlah sel neuron cerebrum Rattus norvegicus baru lahir antar kelompok dengan nilai p=0,000 (rerata kelompok musik Mozart 28,14±3,02, musik pop Indonesia 19,71±1,80 dan musik religi Indonesia 24,14±2,91) dan musik Mozart memiliki jumlah sel neuron lebih tinggi daripada musik religi Indonesia dan musik pop Indonesia. Kesimpulan: Kelompok musik Mozart memiliki jumlah sel neuron di cerebrum yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok musik Indonesia.

Abstract. The phenomenon of reciting old Indonesian popular music from the 60-90s era is increasingly circulating everywhere, social media timelines, cafes, and many other unique mediums are widely listened to by Gen Z who incidentally were not born or even experienced the era that music first appeared. However, one thing that is missing from the phenomenon of the glittering Indonesian pop music today is the ongoing debate about what pop music really is, what underlies it's success. This study examines audience reception as readers of the book "From Ngak Ngik Ngok to Dheg Dheg Plas" to explore readers' understanding of the history and development of pop music in Indonesia. This research has a focus on examining how audience reception of the history of the development of Indonesian pop music in the book "From Ngak Ngik Ngok to Dheg Dheg Plas". The data were analyzed qualitatively using the reception analysis method through observation and interviews with readers. The results of this study indicate the hypothetical position of a number of informants. All informants occupy a dominant hegemonic position, 1 of a number of informants occupies a negotiating position, and none of the informants occupies an oppositional position. This evidence contains 4 aspects of knowledge discussed in the book From Ngak Ngik Ngok to Dheg Dheg Plas, and the informant claimed to have knowledge, especially in terms of state intervention in Indonesian pop music in the decade of the 60s. The informant admitted that after reading the book, his attitude changed and he liked Indonesian pop music in terms of strengthening the identity of a pop music lover, feeling validated as a pop music lover.

Abstrak. Fenomena lantunan musik populer lawas Indonesia era 60-90an kian berseliweran dimana-mana, linimasa media sosial, café, dan banyak medium lainnya yang uniknya banyak didengarkan oleh Gen Z yang notabene tidak lahir atau bahkan mengalami era musik-musik itu pertama kali muncul. Namun satu hal yang luput dari fenomena kemilaunya musik pop Indonesia saat ini adalah perdebatan yang tiada hentinya mengenai apa sebenarnya musik pop, apa yang melandasi musik-musik itu berjaya. Penelitian ini mengkaji resepsi khalayak sebagai pembaca buku “Dari Ngak Ngik Ngok ke Dheg Dheg Plas” untuk menggali pemahaman pembaca mengenai sejarah dan perkembangan musik pop di Indonesia. Penelitian ini memiliki fokus untuk meneliti bagaimana resepsi khalayak tentang sejarah perkembangan musik pop Indonesia dalam buku “Dari Ngak Ngik Ngok ke Dheg Dheg Plas”. Data dianalisis secara kualitatif dengan metode analisis resepsi melalui hasil observasi dan wawancara pembaca. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan posisi hipotekal sejumlah informan. Semua informan menempati posisi hegemoni dominan, 1 dari sejumlah informan menduduki posisi negosiasi, dan tidak ada satupun informan yang menduduki posisi oposisi. Bukti ini memuat 4 aspek pengetahuan yang dibahas dalam buku Dari Ngak Ngik Ngok ke Dheg Dheg Plas, dan informan mengaku mendapat pengetahuan terutama dalam hal intervensi negara terhadap musik pop Indonesia pada dekade 60-an. Informan mengaku mengalami perubahan sikap setelah membaca buku tersebut menambah rasa suka terhadap musik pop Indonesia dalam hal merperteguh identitas penyuka musik pop, merasa tervalidasi, sebagai penyuka musik pop.

ABSTRACTBalinese pop music appeared in 1970’s but its industrialization refers to the development of the involved industries which began in 1990s. The industrialization is characterized by aspects of economy, technology, and new culture in music. All the aspects are related to each other. The economy can be seen in the growing capital in such a business. Technology is in the use of digital tecnology substituting the analog. New culture in music is shown in the more awareness of the Balinese people in enjoying Balinese pop songs. The Balinese are no longer shy singing such songs. This literature review uses techniques of qualitative data analysis. The result of the study shows that the industrialization consists of production, distribution, and consumption of the music. The production is created by the cultural power (musicians) and the capital power (capital owners). The distribution of the Balinese pop music in the current marketing is done by using the support of media power, particularly the electronic media, namely radio (since 1990s and even earlier), especially television (since 2002), in this case Bali TV. The production and distribution enables massive consumption in the Balinese society. The consumption is concerned with the existence of a new musical culture in the society. Although the industrialization tends to be capitalistic, Balinese artists or the musicians can earn their living through the Balinese pop songs. It is not a modern capitalism but postmodern one as the music relies on the existence of the Balinese society and their culture.Keywords: Balinese pop music, industrialization, production, distribution, consumption. ABSTRAKMusik pop Bali muncul pada tahun 1970-an tetapi industrialisasinya mengacu pada perkembangan industrial yang dimulai pada 1990-an. Industrialisasi ini dicirikan oleh aspek ekonomi, teknologi, dan budaya baru dalam musik. Semua aspek terkait satu sama lain. Perekonomian dapat dilihat dari pertumbuhan modal dalam bisnis semacam itu. Teknologi terlihat dalam penggunaan teknologi digital menggantikan yang analog. Budaya baru dalam musik ditampilkan dalam kesadaran yang lebih besar dari orang-orang Bali dalam menikmati lagu-lagu pop Bali. Orang Bali tidak lagi malu menyanyikan lagu-lagu seperti itu. Tinjauan kepustakaan ini menggunakan teknik analisis data kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa industrialisasi musik pop Bali terdiri atas produksi, distribusi, dan konsumsi musik. Produksi diciptakan oleh kekuatan budaya (musisi) dan kekuatan modal (pemilik modal). Distribusi musik pop Bali dalam pemasaran saat ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan dukungan kekuatan media, khususnya media elektronik, yaitu radio (sejak 1990-an dan bahkan lebih awal), khususnya televisi (sejak 2002), dalam hal ini Bali TV. Produksi dan distribusi tersebut memungkinkan konsumsi musik pop Bali besar-besaran dalam masyarakat Bali. Konsumsi berkaitan dengan keberadaan budaya musik baru di masyarakat. Meskipun industrialisasi ini cenderung bersifat kapitalistik, seniman Bali atau musisi dapat mencari nafkah melalui lagu-lagu pop Bali. This research aims to determine (1) know the social conformity behavior of Hallyu Up! Edutainment Bandung on the growth of K-Pop music culture (2) find out the youth of Hallyu Up! Edutainment Student Activity Unit makes K-Pop music a form of social identity. The research methodology used is a qualitative approach with data techniques used are interviews, literature study, and observation. The method in data analysis used is data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate (1) social conformity behavior by teenagers. Hallyu Up! Edutainment Student Activity Unit is cohesiveness, agreement and obedience in a group to the development of K-Pop music, (2) cause of teenagers Hallyu Up! Edutainment Student Activity Unit makes K-Pop music a form of social identity in society, is (a) internal factors, including motivational factors, in-group attractiveness, interests and talents, and agreement in achieving the same goal, (b) external factors, including the influence of friendship groups and social media. Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) mengetahui perilaku konformitas sosial remaja Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa Hallyu Up! Edutainment terhadap perkembangan budaya musik K-Pop (2) mengetahui remaja Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa Hallyu Up! Edutainment menjadikan musik K-Pop sebagai bentuk identitas sosial. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah kegiatan wawancara, studi pustaka, dan observasi. Metode dalam analisis data yang digunakan adalah reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan (1) perilaku konformitas sosial yang dilakukan remaja Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa Hallyu Up! Edutainment yaitu kekompakan, kesepakatan dan ketaatan dalam sebuah kelompok terhadap perkembangan musik K-Pop, (2) penyebab remaja Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa Hallyu Up! Edutainment menjadikan musik K-Pop sebagai bentuk identitas sosialnya di masyarakat, yaitu (a) faktor internal, diantaranya faktor motivasi, daya tarik in-group, minat dan bakat, dan kesepakatan dalam mencapai tujuan yang sama, (b) faktor eksternal, diantaranya pengaruh keompok pertemanan dan media sosial.

Keroncong Music is a music that has different character from other musics, including several techniques in vocal performance, such as luk, nggandul, embat, gregeland cengkok. Nowadays keroncong music does not only perform keroncong songs but also performs popular songs accompanied by keroncong music. When performing popular songs accompanied by keroncong music, usually the performance of each singer will be different. This study aims to determine how the vocal performance of popular songs in keroncong music. The research method used was qualitative. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and document study. The results showed that in performing pop songs with a slow tempo accompanied by keroncong music, the techniques used by keroncong singers tended to be Ngeroncongiwhich means that singers still use some keroncong singing techniques such as luk, nggandul, embat, gregel, and cengkokalthough the songs performed have pop genre. Whereas in performing pop songs in fast tempo that are accompanied by keroncong music, the techniques used by keroncong singers tend to pop (ngepop), which means the singers still show pop techniques and improvisation.

SEVENTEEN adalah boy band Korea Selatan yang dikenal sebagai idola yang memproduksi sendiri lagu sekaligus koreografinya. SEVENTEEN merilis mini album ke-10 pada bulan April 2023 dan lagu ‘Super’ sebagai lagu utama dalam album ‘FML’. Streaming sangat lekat dengan aktivitas penggemar K-Pop, salah satu aplikasi musik digital yang dikenal ialah Spotify. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil persentase nilai streaming Lagu K-Pop ‘Super’ karya SEVENTEEN pada platform Spotify. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif desain penelitian survei dengan menggunakan teknik systematic sampling dan uji analisis data dengan teknik Descriptive Statistics. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembuktian bahwa lama bertahannya chart tidak mempengaruhi tingkat tangga lagu popular artis melainkan berdasarkan minat streaming pendengar pada lagu tertentu pada waktu yang berjalan.AbstractListeners' fascination with streaming SEVENTEEN's 'Super' K-Pop track on Spotify's famous chart. K-Pop or Korean Popular is a genre or type of music originating from South Korea with rap, rock, techno, hip-hop, jazz, and electronic dance music (EDM). SEVENTEEN is a South Korean boy band known as an idol that produces its own songs and choreography. SEVENTEEN released their 10th mini album in April 2023, and the music 'Super' is the main song on the album 'FML.' Streaming is closely related to the activities of K-pop fans; one of the well-known digital music applications is Spotify. This study aims to determine the percentage value of SEVENTEEN's 'Super' K-Pop song streaming on the Spotify platform. This study used a descriptive quantitative method with a survey research design using a systematic sampling technique and a data analysis test using the Descriptive Statistics technique. The study results show that the length of time the chart lasts does not affect the level of the artist's popular charts but rather is based on streaming listeners' interest in certain songs at the current time.Keywords: K-Pop music; SEVENTEEN; streaming; Spotify.

The main problem here is that there are too many types of music available at this time, one of which is pop music. In this day and age, pop music has been worldwide from an early age until adults love pop music, thus allowing pop music to be well received. Learning the art of music in services is to provide direct experience in the learning process for students, including other learning such as literature and language learning, skills and others. The formation of student character by learning pop music will determine the character of students from each song in pop music. Taking the Nine Treasures as an example, a folk metal band singing in Mongolian, this paper studies the creation and adaptation of its music. This paper analyzes how it combines pop music elements such as heavy metal with traditional Inner Mongolian ethnic music, taking two songs, Namindalai and Tes River's Hymn, as examples, to explore the integration of Nei Mongol music and pop music.

However, is this the case? In 2022, the value of the cultural industry represented by the Korean Wave accounted for 18% of South Koreas GDP, nearly $320 billion (Qiu 2014). China and South Korea are culturally similar and belong to the same East Asian region, so the spread of Korean pop music in China is also of some reference significance. This paper will take BlackPink as a case study and analyze why K-pop has gained tremendous popularity worldwide by combining music characteristics, team characteristics, and marketing strategy. Firstly, we compare and analyze the differences and similarities between the two countries in terms of music market size, music consumption patterns, and the value chain of the music industry. Secondly, we explore the challenges and opportunities faced by the pop music industries in China and the United States, aiming to inspire reflections on the development of the pop music industry in both countries. The study reveals that the future direction of China's pop music industry focuses on increasing the number of paying users and integrating pop music with social platforms. On the other hand, the U.S. pop music industry is dedicated to expanding into emerging overseas markets and enhancing its own influence. The future development trends of the pop music industry in China and the United States provide valuable insights for further exploration and promotion of the pop music industry's development.

Anxiety in adolescents arises due to many reasons, such as the fear of failing in doing something, for example when you want to do a dance performance, which can cause excessive worry about failing, things like that can interfere with concentration and will also cause anxiety. Dancers who experience anxiety can affect their appearance before the show, and anxiety can be controlled by relaxing with therapy, one of which is music therapy. To determine the relationship between the effectiveness of K-POP music therapy and the decrease in the anxiety level of young dancers at YAPEMRI Depot. The methodology used in this study is a Quasi-Experimental method, by carrying out complementary therapy, namely music therapy, which is carried out for 15 minutes, and is also carried out regularly for 6 days. From the results of the study it was found that there was effectiveness of K-POP music therapy on reducing anxiety levels before competing in young dancers at YAPEMRI Depot with a value of p=0.000 or p<0.05. This study proved the effectiveness of K-POP music therapy in reducing anxiety levels. Keywords: Music Therapy, Anxiety, Adolescents, Dancer. Dancer yang mengalami kecemasan dapat mempengaruhi penampilan sebelum pertunjukan, dan kecemasan dapat dikontrol dengan melakukan relaksasi menggunakan terapi, salah satunya yaitu terapi musik. Mengetahui hubungan efektivitas terapi musik K-POP terhadap penurunan tingkat kecemasan dancer remaja di YAPEMRI Depok. Metodelogi yang digunakan pada penelitian ini merupakan metode Quasi Eksperimental, dengan melakukan terapi komplementer yaitu terapi musik, yang dilakukan selama 15 menit, dan juga dilakukan secara rutin selama 6 hari. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa adanya efektivitas terapi musik K-POP terhadap penurunan tingkat kecemasan sebelum bertanding pada dancer remaja di YAPEMRI Depok dengan nilai p=0,000 atau p<0,05. In 2019, Dolby Atmos Music launched on Tidal HiFi and Amazon Prime Music HD, integrating 3D sound with music streaming services for the first time. This is one of several recent incursions by popular music into immersive and interactive mediums, which also includes technologies such as virtual reality and 360-degree video. As immersive productions become more normal in popular music, they are increasingly critical to examine. How are aesthetic features of pop compositions altered or maintained in these productions? And how do these different spatial mediums affect compositional design, subject positioning, artists’ performativity, and staging? This article aims to address these questions by presenting a model for 3D music analysis that relates various notions of music technology and production to musicological concepts on performance environment, staging, and subject position. This model is then demonstrated in a hermeneutic close reading of the song ‘Blinding Lights’ by R&B superstar The Weeknd, which was released in both stereo and Dolby Atmos mediums in 2019. The goal of the analysis is to demonstrate some of the ways different mediums impinge on various interpretive stances and the relationship between the performer and listener in immersive popular music.

Korean pop music or better known as K-pop has now succeeded in placing it self in the global market and producing a new musical sensation. K-pop has the characteristics of music that can provide its own pleasure for the audience, so that this type of music is increasingly favored and consumed by many people regardless of gender or age range. Individuals in early adulthood tend to have a strong attraction to celebrities in their lives, such as pop idols, movie stars, and the like. This will eventually give rise to fan groups who are the most visible part of the audience of cultural texts and practices dominated by people in early adulthood. Fan groups that appear in K-pop culture are called K-popers (K-pop Lovers) or the K-pop community who hunts for all information about their favorite K-pop idols such as groups of singers and Korean music groups commonly referred to as Boy Bands and Girlbands. Artificial Intelligence has been applied in many aspects of life, however, AI algorithms have been less used in the field of music. In this paper, a multi-track based pop music generation model MuseGAN is proposed, due to its poor contextualization and excessive tempo jumps in generating pop music samples. In this paper, a new multi-track pop music generation model-Recurrent Feature Generation Adversarial Network RFGAN is proposed. the model addresses the temporal relevance of the music structure and the repetitive nature of the musical section, and proposes a temporal model that enhances the contextual relevance of the music samples in terms of the time series, and improves the generative model according to this temporal model by converting the unidirectional structure in the original model to a recurrent structure, adding the feature extractor to the previous level of training information, which is combined with arbitrary noise and passed to the next training. An average pooling layer is added at the end of the generative model as a solution to the situation where the model generates too much noise for pop music samples. The improved model is superior to the pre-improvement model in terms of stability, convergence speed, and overfitting in pop music generation. In the audience scoring experiment, 60% of the top 5 pop music scores were generated using the RFGAN model proposed in this paper, indicating that the pop music generated using the RFGAN model has reached a high level comparable to the level of artificial pop music composition.

This study considers the development process and status of K-Pop that influenced C-Pop, and presents a plan to develop the Chinese pop music industry which is on a downturn by analyzing the impact of K-Pop on C-Pop. The research subject is the K-Pop and C-Pop industries from the late 1990s to the present; , literature review and individual case analysis methods were adopted for effective analysis. The following plans for the development of the Chinese pop music industry were derived through SWOT analysis. Primarily, marketing strategies using Internet new media such as TikTok should be implemented, a “star-type” new singer training system should be established, and a service model that combines “O2O” online and offline consumption channels should be utilized. Subsequently, new singers should lead musical success through the formation of their own fandom culture with a strategy that goes beyond the existing older generation singers. The study aims to contribute theoretically and practically to the development of Chinese pop music by deriving implications for the Chinese pop music industry and presenting ways to develop Chinese pop music in a slump.

Increasing competition in the Philippines pop music industry demanded an investigation into consumer buying behaviour. Therefore, the study aims to describe the consumer buying behaviour of the Philippines music industry. Accordingly, 284 music buyers were sampled using the convenience sampling technique at two music stores in SM Baguio City, Philippines, and surveyed. Data were analyzed by using descriptive analysis. The findings indicate that most respondents purchased one music product in a single purchase (65.5%), preferred pop genre (20.1%), preferred music band (46.6%), preferred Sony (54.6%), spent 30 minutes on a music purchase (41.5%), buy music products one a month (56.3%), and spent PhP 200 or less for music monthly (55.3%). Hence, it is important for music stores managers who wish to expand the music industry to take consumer buying behaviour into foremost consideration. However, the actual behaviour of human being is such a complicated and overlapping manner that not all factors are at the same level of importance towards making choices, which calls for further exploration.

In this article I explore the production of teen girl comics such as Marilyn, Mirabelle, Roxy and Valentine in the promotion of pop music and pop stars from 1955 to 1960. These comics developed alongside early pop music and consisted of serial and self-contained picture stories, beauty and pop music articles, advice columns, and horoscopes. Materiality is a key component of the importance of comics in the promotional culture in a media landscape in which pop music was difficult to access for teenage girls. I analyze the comics within their historical and cultural framework and show how early British pop stars were constructed through paradoxical discourses such as religion, consumerism, and national identity to make them safe for teen girl consumption. The promotion of these star images formed the foundation for later pop music promotion and girl fan practices.

Bulgarian pop music has walked and is still walking the path of its integration into the world music scene. This path is strewn with many challenges and pitfalls of sudden democratization, among them the still-searching for belonging and definition. In this report, we examine one of the “childhood diseases” of Bulgarian pop music – the problems with prosody in Bulgarian pop songs, leading to the shifting of word accents. Why is confused prosody so common? Where are the roots of the problems and what are the errors dictated by? These are the questions to which this text seeks the answer within the analysis of contemporary popular songs, historical context, and analysis of the situation in the Bulgarian show business.

Abstrak — Pada penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui apakah musik pop berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar matematika pada siswa SMA. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada siswa Kelas XI SMAN 1 Pamekasan semester Genap Tahun Pelajaran 2019/2020 pada materi aplikasi barisan dan deret. Jenis penelitian ini berupa eskperimen dengan rancangan penelitian Post-test Only Control Design. Teknik pengumpulan data yang gunakan adalah post-test berupa tes hasil belajar dengan lima soal uraian. Kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol diuji homogenitas terlebih dahulu menggunakan data nilai ulangan sebelumnya. Kemudian diperoleh bahwa kedua kelas homogen. Pada perhitungan nilai post-test dengan SPSS diketahui bahwa nilai sinignifikansi < α yaitu sebesar 0,047 sedangkan nilai α = 0,05, yang menandakan bahwa musik pop berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar. Hasil belajar siswa yang diperoleh, menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen memiliki rata-rata hasil belajar yang lebih tinggi yaitu sebesar 84,61 daripada kelas kontrol yaitu sebesar 76,16. Berdasarkan data hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa musik pop berpengaruh secara positif terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif strategi pembelajaran.Kata kunci: Musik Pop, Hasil Belajar Siswa, Barisan dan Deret Abstract — This study aims to determine whether pop music has an effect on Mathematics’ student learning outcomes. This research was conducted of Class XI at SMAN 1 Pamekasan of sequence and series application matter. This research was experimental research with a Post-test Only Control Design. The technique to collect data used a post-test that consisting of five descriptive questions. The experimental class and the control class were homogeneity tested first using the previous test data. Then it is obtained that both classes are homogeneous. In the calculation of the post-test value with SPSS, it is known that the significance value <α is 0.047 while the value of α = 0.05, which indicates that pop music has a significant effect on learning outcomes. There are differences in significant learning outcomes in the experimental class and the control class. The experimental class had a higher average learning outcome of 84.61 than the average of the control class of 76.16. Based on research data, it can be concluded that pop music has a positive effect on student mathematics learning outcomes so it can be used as an alternative learning strategy.Keywords: Pop Music, Learning Outcomes, Sequence and Serie

One of the ironies of popular music studies is that the music that is the most popular, in terms of contemporary chart success, is rarely discussed by academics writing in the field. In this article I want to suggest that this is because some forms of ‘mainstream’ chart pop music, and the discourse of the magazines that promote this type of music, pose a threat to the certainties of both gender and genre that underpin ‘serious’ popular music. The music I am concerned with here is that provided by ‘boy bands’ like Boyzone, Westlife or Five, and ‘girl groups’ like The Spice Girls, Atomic Kitten or Precious, as well as mixed-sex groups such as Steps, SClub7 and Hear'Say, and singers such as Britney Spears and Billie – music that is the mainstay of magazines such as the UK publications Smash Hits, Top of the Pops and Live and Kicking. I shall argue that this music, and the way of enjoying music promoted by the magazines that support it, can best be understood in terms of a carnivalesque disruption that challenges all stable ideas about what makes music good, and what popular music should be about. Furthermore, I shall argue that, just as this music is perhaps the only form of popular music to have a predominantly female audience, the threat that it poses is the threat of the feminine, and of female encroachment into what is still predominantly a male, and masculine, world.

The purpose of this article is to discuss the background and meaning of the emergence of acoustic pop music, which newly emerged in the Korean popular music market in the 2010s. Therefore, first, the operational definition of acoustic pop music was defined, and the actual state was captured by examining the current status of this music’s prevalence. It has been proven through mainstream music charts, domestic musicians' preference and orientation for the music and trends in the music industry that promote acoustic music. The emergence of acoustic pop and the series of phenomena it brought about can be explained by topics such as ‘the global music trend that has driven it’, ‘resistance to digital civilization’, ‘musical response to the changing era’ and ‘tendency of singer-songwriters and auteurisme’. This article, which is an introduction to the phenomenon of acoustic pop music, additionally discussed that acoustic pop music, which shares a common denominator with folk music, should be elaborately and meticulously discussed from the perspective of Korean folk history.

The development of K-Pop music is spreading very quickly among young Indonesians. One of the popular Korean pop groups today is Stray Kids with one of their songs entitled Thunders. The purpose of this study is to find out the editing process used in the music video. This research uses a qualitative descriptive type and the method used is observation. Then the results of this research are obtained, namely that readers understand some of the terms in editing and can implement them into videos that you want to make look attractive.

In this article I explore the manner in which elements from a non-Western music appear in pop music and jazz. The music under discussion is that of the Indian subcontinent and the classical music of North India in particular. The essay covers references to Indian music in pop, rock and jazz from the sixties to the present day but concentrates mainly on the sixties and seventies, and, in the world of pop, on the music of the Beatles. The influence of orientalism on Western music is not a recent phenomena, as Reck (1985) notes, but its appearance in pop during the sixties meant that it reached a larger audience than ever before.

In some cases denial of artistic expression in pop music in Indonesia, it is done based on norms that are considered to be noble social values.Without intending to assess which is the most correct, this paper will try to trace critically about what is behind the phenomenon of pop music that often reap the denial of freedom of expression. This article is not intended to reconcile the conflict between the many people who have refused the aberrant expression of music with product of pop music itself, but rather tries to lay the base of foundation that can be used by music, especially pop music, in the use of expression responsibly.

Due to its relatable content mirroring everyday life, it enjoys widespread adoration among the Chinese populace. In recent times, with the global proliferation of pop music, Chinese musicians have embarked on integrating traditional elements from Chinese culture into their melodies, background instruments, and lyrics, while drawing inspiration from and assimilating Western pop music. Consequently, this fusion has birthed distinctive works of Chinese-style pop music, each bearing its unique characteristics. Musicians have embraced the perspective that amalgamating pop music with China’s rich cultural heritage is pivotal, foreseeing its potential for enduring significance domestically and internationally. This study employs a literature review approach, leveraging China’s cultural prowess, to analyze the diverse styles encapsulated within Chinese pop music. Furthermore, it scrutinizes the infusion of traditional Chinese elements such as folk songs, theatrical performances, ethnic musical modes, indigenous instruments, as well as elements from ancient poetry and historical figures.

This research examines the characteristics of Japanese City pop music from the 1980s, which encapsulates the urban sensibility of the era. In essence, it aims to elucidate the significance and implications of 1980s City pop as a popular music genre. The 1970s, which is closely associated with the emergence of City pop, marked a turning point from counterculture to commercial culture, representing a period where the existing musical identity evolved into a new form of music. This transformation can be observed in the music of ‘Happy end’, which captured the fading image of old Tokyo due to Japan's economic development, and it further evolved into Japanese AOR, New music, and eventually City pop. Notably, 1980s City pop can be seen as music that is rooted in the sensibilities of the city and reflects the image of Tokyo during the economic bubble era. This study holds significant importance in examining the birth of City pop influenced by western urbanization in 1980s Japan and its distinctive characteristics as popular music.
