Abstract:
This letter presents a new compact multi-mode filtering power divider (FPD) design based on co-shared FPD topology with sharp frequency selectivity, improved out-of-band harmonic rejection and port-to-port isolation. Power splitting and quasi-elliptic filtering functions are achieved by masterly integrating only one triple-mode resonator. By loading different open-circuited stubs at the input/output ports, multiple additional transmission zeros (TZs) are generated at both lower and upper stopband, resulting in an improved stopband performance. Meanwhile, a better port-to-port isolation is obtained by adopting frequency-dependent resistor-capacitor parallel isolation network. The proposed multi-mode FPD design stands out from those in the literature by both nice operation performance and compact topology with only one resonator. For demonstration purposes, one triple-mode FPD prototype and its improved one are implemented, respectively. Measured results exhibit the superiority of the FPD design.

Abstract:
This study presents a novel design of ultra-wideband (UWB) impedance transformers and power dividers with filtering capabilities. Based on the UWB impedance matching network, the UWB filtering impedance transformers are designed, and the UWB filtering power dividers are achieved by impedance transforming one port of one or more impedance transformers. The transformers consist of a multi-mode stepped-impedance resonator (SIR) and defected ground structures (DGSs). The SIR is tightly coupled to two ports of different impedance levels via the unsymmetrical two-sided coupled lines and DGSs. In addition, two transformers that convert impedance from 50 Ω to 100 Ω are connected to form a UWB power divider with filtering function. The 25 Ω port of an impedance transformer with a 50 Ω to 25 Ω conversion is impedance matched to two 50 Ω ports connected in parallel, resulting in another power divider with filtering function. Thus, two prototype UWB impedance transformers from 50 Ω to 100 Ω and from 50 Ω to 25 Ω are designed and their corresponding power dividers are also designed and fabricated. The simulated and measured results are consistent, demonstrating good features, such as return loss greater than 10 dB and insertion loss less than 4.5 dB in the passband, UWB filtering capacity with out-of-band rejection greater than 20 dB, and compact size smaller than 1.2λ × 2.1λ (λ is the wavelength of the central frequency).

Recently, APT (Advanced Persistent Threats) groups are using the COVID-19 pandemic as part of their cyber operations. In response to cyber threat actors, IoCs (Indicators of Compromise) are being provided to help us take some countermeasures. In this paper, we analyse how the coronavirus-based cyber attack unfolded on the academic infrastructure network SINET (The Science Information Network) based on the passive measurement with IoC. SINET is Japan's academic information infrastructure network. To extract and analyze the traffic patterns of the COVID-19 attacker group, we implemented a data flow pipeline for handling huge session traffic data observed on SINET. The data flow pipeline provides three functions: (1) identification the direction of the traffic, (2) filtering the port numbers, and (3) generation of the time series data. From the output of our pipeline, it is clear that the attacker's traffic can be broken down into several patterns. To name a few, we have witnessed (1) huge burstiness (port 25: FTP and high port applications), (3) diurnal patterns (port 443: SSL), and (3) periodic patterns with low amplitude (port 25: SMTP) We can conclude that some unveiled patterns by our pipeline are informative to handling security operations of the academic backbone network. Particularly, we have found burstiness of high port and unknown applications with the number of session data ranging from 10,000 to 35,000. For understanding the traffic patterns on SINET, our data flow pipeline can utilize any IoC based on the list of IP address for traffic ingress/egress identification and port filtering.

Abstract:
A short-circuited coupling structure (SCCS) is proposed to obtain a gain-filtering response for dual-polarized antennas. A conventional dipole is designed with two intrinsic radiation nulls. By introducing an SCCS, an additional radiation null is obtained, and the impedance bandwidth of an antenna can be further improved. Based on this design principle, two dual-polarized filtering antennas are designed for 4G and 5G wireless communication devices. The impedance bandwidth of the proposed 4G filtering antenna is 1.63–2.97 GHz (|S11| < −15 dB), with four radiation nulls at 1.1 GHz, 3.25 GHz, 3.5 GHz, and 4.0 GHz. The impedance bandwidth of the proposed 5G filtering antenna is 3.23–4.21 GHz (|S33| < −15 dB), with four radiation nulls at 1.7 GHz, 2.5 GHz, 3 GHz, and 4.6 GHz. Further, the decoupling function of the SCCS on 4G/5G MIMO antenna designs is also discussed. When introducing an SCCS, the port isolation levels of two elements between the 4G and 5G antennas, as well as the adjacent 5G antennas, can be improved by 14 dB and 6 dB, respectively. The port isolation levels of five elements between the 4G and 5G antennas, as well as the adjacent 5G antennas, can be improved by 15.2 dB and 9.5 dB, respectively. This technique could also be a potential candidate for optical antenna designs in optical front-ends and other multi-wavelength fiber lasers with microstructures.

Abstract:
An improved Graham scan convex hull algorithm is designed using the convex hull region shrinkage algorithm and the sample selection decision algorithm. In the sorting of Graham scan convex hull algorithm, the cross-multiplication method is used instead of the operation of finding the polar angle, which avoids the high computational complexity of finding the inverse trigonometric function. When the polar angles are the same, that is, the two points are collinear, the points close to each other are deleted directly. Select the maximal horizontal ordinate point, minimal horizontal ordinate point, maximal longitudinal coordinate point, and minimal longitudinal coordinate point. Connect these points and obtain lines. The whole plane is divided into different regions. The points that are not on the convex hull are deleted, and the redundant points are removed. This can speed up the calculation of approximate convex hull boundary and shorten the time of convex hull calculation. The proposed algorithm is used for buoy drifting area demarcating. The offsets of the geometric center of the high-frequency position point and the distance from geometric center of high-frequency position of buoy to sinking stone are calculated. The experimental results show that the new algorithm can effectively accelerate the convex hull calculation. We use the convex hull process to compute the area of the drifting buoy position and discover that the drift area of the port hand buoy is similar. The drift area of the port hand buoys is similar. The drift area of the port hand buoy is greater than that of the port hand buoy.

Abstract:
Security and stability in a network service is a top priority for a network administrator. The slightest security vulnerability can make a very big threat in the stability of network services. The rise of cybercrime that intercepts access to a network service by performing ARP spoofing to imitate a client who has the right to access the network, with this happening it can be detrimental and disrupt network services. The application of MAC Address filtering to access network services is able to minimize the occurrence of cybercrime in the network. The filtering technique used is by registering the MAC address of each network service user who will connect to the network. This technique is able to recap the MAC Address on each device in the MAC Address table and is able to block access to clients whose MAC addresses are not registered. The test results obtained for the comparison of MAC Address filtering security using Dynamic with sticky MAC addresses are that the implementation of port security static sticky is considered better than the implementation of dynamic port security, where if there is a new client trying to access the network and the client's mac address is not registered then the client absolutely does not get access to network services.

A highly efficient, single-port SRAM-based loop filter based on H.264 is presented. Hybrid edge filtering order, efficient memory organization for both on-chip SRAM and transposition buffers, and five-stage pipeline architect are adopted in the design. Efficient transposition buffer organization reduces the gate counts and the memory access times. By using hybrid edge filtering order and alternating output memory update scenario, zero stall cycle in pipeline flow is realized. To balance on-chip memory size and bus bandwidth, the design can be configured to operate in on-chip memory and off-chip memory modes.

Abstract:
In this paper, a novel design based on a dual-mode ring resonator, the filtering balun, feeding the printed dipole antenna, the filter balun antenna (FBA), is presented. One port on the structure allows the signals to be phase-shifted 180 degrees from one unbalanced port to two balanced signals. The suggested designs use a single dual-mode ring resonator to operate as both a filter and a balun at the same time. Compact designs are achieved by applying feeding to the second layer. Another unique characteristic of the filtering balun is its ability to alter, based on perturbation size, the phase error and magnitude imbalance of the two balanced signals. With the use of the Advanced Design System (ADS) software, numerous structures have been developed, modeled, and evaluated. To achieve the highest performance, every section of the design is assessed and optimized. Because the substrate is a lossy type (FR4), the realized transmission coefficients, which are poorer than expected ideal values, make the suggested design a strong contender for narrow-band wireless applications. For S2,1 and S3,1, the signal is routed through two viasand fed into a dipole antenna in the opposite phase by employing the zero iteration for filtering the balun in the first layer to condense with the second layers. The antenna structure is a printed dipole antenna operating at 2.4 GHz

Abstract:
Ship emissions significantly impact air quality, particularly in coastal and port regions, contributing to elevated concentrations of PM2.5, and PM10, with varying effects observed across different locations. This study investigates the effectiveness of emission control policies, inland and port-specific contributions to air pollution, and the health risks posed by particulate matter (PM). A regression discontinuity model at Ningbo Port revealed that ship activities show moderate PM2.5 and PM10 variations. In Busan Port, container ships accounted for the majority of emissions, with social costs from pollutants estimated at USD 31.55 million annually. Inland shipping near the Yangtze River demonstrated significant PM contributions, emphasizing regional impacts. Health risks from PM2.5, a major global toxic pollutant, were highlighted, with links to respiratory, cardiovascular, and cognitive disorders. Advances in air purification technologies, including hybrid electrostatic filtration systems, have shown promising efficiency in removing submicron particles and toxic gases, reducing energy costs. In this paper, a random forest machine learning model developed to predict particulate concentrations post-cleaning demonstrated robust performance (MAE = 0.49 P/cm3, R2 = 0.97). These findings underscore the critical need for stringent emission controls, innovative filtration systems, and comprehensive monitoring to mitigate the environmental and health impacts of ship emissions.

The design equations of the proposed AFPD are derived using an even-odd decomposition method, and parametric investigations are also performed. It is found that the passband bandwidth can be adjusted by the stepped open-circuited stub which generates two transmission zeros (TZs). By combining the TCL with the CLs, the passband bandwidth is effectively enlarged. In addition, two isolated resistors are utilized for achieving good isolation and output-port matching performance. Without affecting the passband responses, the input port absorptive feature within the whole frequency band can be obtained by loading the absorptive branches both on the input and output ports. For validation, an example operating at the center frequency of 2 GHz was modeled and tested. Results exhibit that the passband FBW reaches 72% under 1 dB criterion, which illustrates flat output port distributions. In addition, for 10 dB return loss, the input and output impedance matching bandwidths are 250% and 78%, respectively. The features of good filtering responses are demonstrated by realizing the rectangle coefficient of 1.24 and the out-of-band suppression of more than 20 dB.

Abstract The grid communication data gateway filtering system has the problem of excessive memory overhead, so a grid communication data gateway filtering system based on micro-service architecture is designed. For the hardware part, the system can support mounting a U disk with a capacity of 16 G and above and use NAND FLASH to realize the expansion of solidified code and storage space. For the software part, the system can get the gateway communication parameters, calculate the bit rate of grid communication data transmission, and match a specific duty cycle. Besides, it can set the existing network port authentication mode according to the instructions, start the gateway filtering program, design the power grid communication data reliability judgment rule base, and optimize the filtering mode based on the micro-service architecture. The test results are that under the conditions of a different number of sensitive words, the average memory overhead of the designed system is 75.93 MB, indicating that the system has better overhead performance under the influence of the microservice architecture.

Abstract:
Abstract In addressing the issue of excessive high-frequency current ripple at the output port caused by high-frequency switching in traditional dual active bridge DC-DC converters, a low-ripple dual active bridge DC-DC converter was designed by replacing its switching devices with a half-bridge submodule. This converter constructs a decoupling loop for alternating and direct current components on the bridge arms, allowing the alternating components to form a loop between the bridge arms without entering the direct current port, thereby eliminating high-frequency current ripple at the direct current output port. Consequently, the filtering capacitors parallel to the direct current port can be omitted, while also suppressing direct current fault currents. Due to the inherent capacitance structure of the submodule switching devices, soft-switching characteristics are preserved, and conversion efficiency is not compromised. Simulation results based on a MATLAB/Simulink model of 750 V and 10 kW demonstrate that the ripple of this converter is less than 0.07%, a 90% reduction compared to traditional converters, and effectively suppresses fault currents, thereby enhancing system safety.

AbstractA series of novel wideband filtering power dividers (WFPDs) with wide stopband rejection performances is proposed in this paper. The proposed WFPD structure consists of a parallel-coupled line, two transmission line (TL) sections, four loading terminations, and an isolation resistor. The coupled line is applied at the input port to provide wideband impedance transformation, while different types of loading terminations and TL sections are adopted to realize various out-of-band rejection performances. To verify the proposed concepts, three WFPDs operating at 3.0 GHz are designed and fabricated with 3 dB bandwidth of 79.7, 79.0, and 74.4%. In WFPD1, the measured out-of-band rejection of better than 13.4 dB extends to 2.57f0. Moreover, the measured out-of-band rejection of better than 17 dB extends to 2.47f0 (4.75f0) in WFPD2 (WFPD3), respectively. Good agreements between the simulated and measured results validate the presented ideas.

Abstract:
Multi-wavelength and multi-channel photonic crystal filters are designed with different sizes considered by using a two-dimensional quadric lattice photonic crystal structure to solve the problems of a multi-channel filter with structure complexity, single-wavelength download, and channel interference. The designed filter consists of a waveguide, reflection wall, multimode microcavity, and output port. Each port can download three different wavelengths. In the communication band from 1.500 to 1.600 μm, the transmittance of each channel is greater than 90%, and the filtering efficiency is high. The size of the non-simplified filter is only 27 μm × 17 μm. On the premise of ensuring low loss transmittance (that is, the transmittance of each port is changed by no more than 10% at the wavelength from 1.5–1.6 μm), the size of the filter can reach 15 μm × 7 μm. This design will greatly reduce the overall structure size of the filter and is suitable for multiplexing and demultiplexing in WDM systems.

Abstract Inland waterway transportation remains a crucial and cost-effective mode of global transport despite challenges such as skilled personnel shortages, increasing competition, and ecological impacts. Autonomous technology enhances vessel navigation, scheduling, safety, and efficiency, making it a viable solution for smart ship and port operations. Reliable object detection is essential for autonomous ships to navigate safely and avoid collisions with static structures like bridges, piers, bollards, and locks. This paper presents an innovative approach for training a network using the Autodistill pipeline for bridge detection and segmentation. We generate a labeled bridge dataset using GroundedSAM, which integrates Grounding DINO and the Segment Anything Model (SAM) to detect and segment regions based on text input. The system focuses on identifying ‘bridge’ and ‘water’ classes, producing high-quality labeled data. Manual filtering improves label quality, enhancing the training of the YOLOv8 model, known for its superior object detection capabilities. Our approach demonstrates high performance in accurately detecting bridges, confirmed through evaluations with and without manual filtering. To validate our solution’s feasibility in real-world applications, we deployed the model on a NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin for performance evaluation. Future work will extend this approach to additional static and mobile objects relevant to smart ship and port operations, such as ship locks and various ship types.

Abstract:
A silicon microring resonator system designed for the optical noise-free circuit consists of a silicon microring with two nanorings at its sides and has the form of a Panda-ring resonator. From which the nonlinear Kerr effect is introduced for space-time distortion control. Firstly, the input light (bright soliton) of 1.50 m center wavelength fed into the system with suitable parameters. The space signal with three types of noise (white, blue- and pink) fed into the system for manipulation. Secondly, the controlled space-time signals multiplexed into the circuit via the add port, the successive filtering employed for noisy space-time signal filtering. The optimum space-time distortion formed by the space-time uncertainty saturation, where the squeezing of light was produced and the whispering gallery mode obtained. The novelty of this work is the use of the Pandaring circuit successive filtering with the space-time distortion control based on the circuit's nonlinear Kerr effect, which can achieve the optical noise-free circuit requirement. By using the Optiwave and MATLAB programs, the simulation results obtained. Results were plotted in time, frequency, and wavelength domains, respectively. The selected modulation time signal is femtosecond (fs), in which the noisy signals extracted from the resonant successive filtering signals.

Abstract:
This paper presents a novel dual-band Gysel filtering power divider (FPD) with an excellent isolation performance and a significantly wide isolation bandwidth. Although Gysel power dividers have been extensively studied in the field of radio frequency (RF), the integration of filtering functionality and the expansion of isolation bandwidth remain challenging. The proposed design addresses these challenges by incorporating frequency transform resonators (FTRs) and a microstrip/slotline (M/S) phase inverter into the classic Gysel topology. The FTR is directly connected to the output port to provide a dual-band response, enabling the Gysel FPD to operate without external coupling between the resonator and the port. The M/S phase inverter is a dual-layer 180° phase shifter, designed to replace the conventional 180° transmission lines loaded between the two isolation resistors of the Gysel FPD, achieving a wide isolation bandwidth. To validate the proposed design method, a dual-band Gysel FPD with center frequencies of 1.4 GHz and 1.7 GHz is designed, fabricated, and measured. The measured results show that the in-band return loss is greater than 20 dB, and the in-band insertion loss is about 0.6 dB, and the amplitude and phase imbalance characteristics are good. In addition, the 20 dB-isolation fractional bandwidth achieves 97% (0.78–2.25 GHz). The measured results show excellent agreement with the simulation results, validating the effectiveness of the proposed design methodology.

We present an efficient fabrication method for absorptive microwave filters based on Eccosorb CR-124. Filters are fabricated from readily available parts, and their cutoff frequency can be set by their length. They exhibit desirable properties such as a very large and deep stop band with rejection beyond 120 dB at least up to 40 GHz, more than 10 dB return loss in both the pass and the stop band, and an error-function shaped step response without overshoot. Measurements at very low temperatures show that the filters thermalize on a time scale of approximately 100 s, and that they can absorb power as high as 100 nW with their noise temperature staying remarkably low, below 100 mK. These properties make the filters ideal for cryogenic filtering and filtering of intermediate frequency port signals of mixers.

Abstract:
This paper presents the design and isolation enhancement of a filtering MIMO antenna with a radiation null for out-of-band suppressions suited for 5G sub-6 GHz communications. The MIMO antenna offers -10 dB impedance bandwidth functionality at the most prominent partial spectrum of the 5G NR n78 band for enabling wireless applications in base stations, ranging from 3.4 GHz to 3.61 GHz. To mitigate the redundancy of an RF filter and to achieve a strong filtering response, a radiation null is produced in the gain with four identical rectangular slots, which results in a significant gain drop of more than 8 dBi at the stopband. The geometrical design also allows 30 percent size reduction of single element. Subsequently, a closely spaced (0.11λ0) two-port MIMO antenna is implemented and with the utilization of the proposed rectangular shaped hollow stub parasitic element, the interelement isolation is significantly improved by more than 8 dB over the operational frequency range while retaining the filtering without any additional RF structure. The design simplification, peak gain of 5.4 dBi, near ideal response of diversity gain, ECC less than 0.03, congruency between simulated and measured results, and stable parameters make it a valuable choice for 3.5 GHz sub-6 GHz communications.

Abstract:
This study presents a novel compact design of the Gysel topology and a filtering power divider (FPD) that utilizes a coupling structure. The proposed design replaces the traditional four-quarter wavelength transmission lines of the Gysel power divider with transmission lines and lumped components, resulting in a significantly reduced circuit size. Furthermore, the introduction of this coupling structure ensures the integration of the filtering and power division functions. Two transmission zeros are created near the passband to enhance the frequency selectivity of the responses. Theoretical analysis is carried out, and closed-form equations are derived based on the even–odd-mode method. To validate the theory, a three-port equal Gysel FPD operating at 2 GHz was designed and fabricated. The simulated and measured results demonstrate that this FPD has good power splitting and filtering capability with the size of 0.15 λg × 0.25 λg (λg is the medium wavelength of the central frequency), which is a significant reduction compared to the existing Gysel FPDs. The simulated and measured results are presented to verify the theoretical derivation, demonstrating good features, such as a return loss greater than 15 dB, isolation greater than 15 dB, and an insertion loss of about 4.02 dB (3 + 1.02 dB) in the passband.

Background: Concerns have been expressed about risk of exposure to exhaled aerosols to ICU personnel. AIM: To quantify amount of aerosol collected at the exhaust outlet of mechanical ventilators operated with and without filters in the expiratory limb. Methods: Two categories of ventilators were tested: (1) Ventilators without Proprietary Filters: Servo-i (Maquet) and Galileo (Hamilton) and (2) Ventilator with proprietary filters: PB 840 (Covidien). Each ventilator was attached to a simple test lung and operated with VT 500 ml, RR 20 bpm, PIF 50 L/min, PEEP 5 cmH2O. Four separate doses of albuterol (2.5 mg/3mL) were administered via jet nebuliser (eValueMed, Tri-anim) placed at the “Y”. In Experiment A, a filter (Respirgard 303) was placed at the exhaust port. In Experiment B, two filters were attached to the ventilators without proprietary filters: (1) at the end of expiratory limb and (2) at the exhaust outlet. Drug was eluted from filters and measured using spectrophotometry. Results: Drug deposited at the exhaust port without expiratory filtering was >160 fold higher than with expiratory filtering. The collecting filter used in this study was less efficient than the proprietary filter designed for use with the ventilator. Regardless of type of filter used, placement of filter in the expiratory limb reduced secondhand aerosol exposure significantly. Conclusion: Risk of secondhand exposure to exhaled aerosol can account for >45% of nominal dose as well as droplet nuclei produced by patients. Using expiratory filters decreases risk of exposure to aerosol released to the atmosphere during mechanical ventilation.

Abstract:
All over the world, many ports have implemented surveillance camera systems to monitor the vessels and activities around them. These types of systems are not very effective in accurately detecting activities around the port due to background noise and congestion interference at the sea surface. This is why it is difficult to accurately detect vessels, especially smaller vessels, when it turns dark. It is known that some vessels do not comply with maritime rules, particularly in port and safety zones; these must be detected to avoid incidents. For these reasons, in this study, we propose and develop an improved multi-structural morphology (IMSM) approach to eliminate all of this noise and interference so that vessels can be accurately detected in real time. With this new approach, the target vessel is separated from the sea surface background through the weighted morphological filtering of several datasets of structural components. Then, neighborhood-based adaptive fast median filtering is used to filter out impulse noise. Finally, a characteristic morphological model of the target vessel is established using the connected domain; this allows the sea surface congestion to be eliminated and the movement of vessels to be detected in real time. Multiple tests are carried out on a small and discrete area of moving vessels. The results from several collected datasets show that the proposed approach can effectively eliminate background noise and congestion interference in video monitoring.
