The Atlantic maritime winds and waves, as natural forces, shaped the physiography of Sines, a peculiar rocky cliff cape at the western Portuguese coast, as well as cultural processes have shaped its spatial arrangement since ancient times. Despite its small size, Sines port has always been an important maritime trade corner. In the 1970s, winds and waves of modernity reached the Sines coast with an imposing industrial-port complex. We present the history of Sines cape focusing on its landscape dynamics. The patch-corridor-matrix model allowed us to describe the mosaic transformation of such a

Herein, we show, by immunofluorescence and immunoelectron microscopy, that Nup98 is found on both sides of the pore complex. Abstract:
Or l'ex

Fifty Yorkshire gilts and 39 Yorkshire barrows were utilized to evaluate the effects of gender and blast-chilling time on the cooking properties and palatability of pork. Barrows had a more intense flavor than gilts (P < 0.05), but this difference was not of sufficient magnitude to be of practical importance. Samples blast chilled for 1 h were more tender initially and overall and were rated higher in overall palatability than samples blast chilled for 2 or 3 h. However, the magnitude of these differences limit their practical significance; and the palatability of sides subjected to extreme

On the one hand man to be very helpful, but on the other side of the system's security level to rise sharply so that in essence the sides of human life is in a threatened position. The techniques of network security systems and precautions against attacks on information systems continue to be developed so that the integrity, availability and confidentiality in an information system becomes more secure. One way is by building a network security system and attack prevention system. In this paper, the authors c

Gas shales have a complex pore structure. Using mercury porosimetry and nitrogen adsorption experiment on shale of Longtan Formation in southeastern of Hunan, the pore structure characteristics were contrast analyzed, influencing factors and its impact on reservoir-forming were discussed. Longtan Formation shale is composed of nanopores, include the cylinder pores with two ends open and parallel-plate pores with four sides open. The efficiency of mercury ejection ranges 31.45%~63.82%, 51.94% on average, pores uniformity is well. The size of nanopores is 5~30nm, taking up 94.74% of the total vo

In this study, the residual pore pressure distribution characteristics around the suction anchor subjected to vertical cyclic loads are investigated in a soft clay seabed, and a three-dimensional damage-dependent bounding surface model is also proposed. Abstract:
Pore defects have an important effect on the mechanical properties of graphene reinforced aluminum nanocomposites. The simulation study found that the pores affect the stress distribution in the matrix of the composite. Along the stretching direction, the larger stress appears on both sides of the pore, which is the source of potential cracks. It results in a sharp decrease in the mechanical properties of the composite. The higher the porosity, the greater the tendency of pore aggregation, and the risk of material failure is higher. The stress distribution in the matrix becomes more uneven as

The current paper investigates two particular features of a novel rotary split engine. This internal combustion engine incorporates a number of positive advantages in comparison to conventional reciprocating piston engines. As a split engine, it is characterized by a significant difference between the expansion and compression ratios, the former being higher. The processes are decoupled and take place simultaneously, in different chambers and on the different sides of the rotating pistons. Initially, a brief description of the engine’s structure and operating principle is provided. Next, the c
