Abstract:
The aim of this diploma thesis is to carry out external and internal analysis of the firm according to selected analytic methods mentioned below. The fractional aim of this thesis is to find out what the preferences of customers are like in present times, when, in order with the needs of the firm, and concurrently with respect to the main aim of this diploma thesis, the research question was defined. On the basis of results of the questionnaire survey, I am able to answer this question. The diploma thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical-methodological part and application part. The theoretical-methodological part is dedicated to the basic concepts of strategic management, and it also represents characteristics of selected methods of strategic analysis and questionnaire survey. In the application part, there are applied theoretical findings, and there is also represented the analysis of external and internal surrounding of the firm. From the analyzes of external surrounding, there were used PEST, the method 4C, analysis of the sector and competitive environment, questionnaire survey and value curve. In order to research the internal environment of the firm, there was used the analysis of internal sources. Results of particular analyzes were summarized in the SWOT analysis, which serves as a background for particular strategic recommendations of the firm. On the basis of the results of the questionnaire survey and value curve, there was established recommendation what direction the optics should take, and how the company should improve the sales of products and services. Other applied methods were the interview and the analysis of documents. Further off, there were applied mathematic-statistic methods, most of all absolute and relative frequency, cross analyzes, median. All collected information and results of the survey were used for processing of the theme of this diploma thesis. I do not have many comments after evaluation of results of the survey and SWOT analysis. But I would still suggest several minor adjustments or changes. Particular recommendation and suggestion of possible changes may contribute to the successful achievement of targets established by the firm, so it would be possible to keep steady clientele, which could be eventually extended. Outputs of the analysis and final recommendation are fully applicable during decision-making carried by the optics management.

The main aim of this diploma thesis is to analyse visitation of the zoological garden in Brno and to make recommendations which could result in higher values of visitation. The major causes of the fluctuation in visitation are found out and the econometric model is created. Due to this model, we can predict the future values of the reference indicator. In order to determine the interdependence between Zoo Brno attendance and the number of guests accommodated in the South Moravian Region, the econometrics model of South Moravia Region visitation was created too. Based on the analysis of external and internal environment, recommendations which could positively influence Zoo Brno attractiveness and number of its visitors are suggested. All used methods of analysis and creating model are presented in the theoretical part of this diploma thesis.

The aim of the thesis is to analyze Czech republic's wine industry environment. Models used in the thesis are typical for strategic analysis and examine both macro and micro view of the examined entreprises. Firstly the PESTLE analysis will be conducted, describing political, economical, social, technological, legal and ecological aspects relevant to the industry within the Czech republic. Secondly I focus on the particular characteristics of the analyzed sector in terms of product differentiation, market size, competition, distribution channels and expected future trends. The aim of this thesis is (i) the introduction of the small company Gentech, s. r. o., which operates in building industry, (ii) the assessment of its current activities, (iii) the internal analysis of the firm, (iv) the analysis of the firm's industry and (v) the external macroenvironment (PEST) analysis. The internal analysis identified the firm's strengths and weaknesses and the external analysis revealed opportunities and threats. A profile of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats were generated by means of a SWOT analysis. An industry analysis was performed using a framework developer by M. E. Porter known as Porter's five forces. On the bases of the information from the environmental scan, they were outlined possibility options for the firm strategy which should be necessary for this small company to survive and prosper.

The main objective of this thesis is to develop marketing strategy for pollutant detector in the development. The first part of the thesis focuses on the environmental issues, pollutant measuring technologies and on bioluminescence bacteria which are used in the detector. The detector is designed for companies which get in touch with selected dangerous elements (mercury, cadmium, lead, BTEX and PCBs) within their business activities. That is why the next part is about B2B specifics as companies are targeted customers. Various marketing theories are applied to set marketing strategy. O trabalho apresenta um estudo sobre o modelo de Análise Estrutural de Indústrias, chamado de Cinco Forças, de Michael E. Porter. É feita uma análise histórica da evolução do pensamento estratégico e da pesquisa econômica que levaram, em 1980, ao aparecimento do modelo das Cinco Forças, como base para pesquisar depois as visões de diversos pesquisadores sobre o modelo, ampliando assim a visão básica de Porter. Esta pesquisa, ao mesmo tempo que amplia o horizonte de entendimento do modelo original, aprofunda, em alguns aspectos, a fundamentação do mesmo. Como parte deste aprofundamento o trabalho estuda a Teoria dos Complementadores, tida aqui como um aperfeiçoamento do modelo básico que pode ser aplicado na Análise Estrutural das Indústrias melhorando o entendimento das forças que atuam sobre as mesmas. Como aplicação prática deste modelo, é feita uma Análise Estrutural da Indústria da Publicidade. Esta indústria está passando por uma demorada fase de transformação, com muitas agências novas, outras desaparecendo, algumas sendo compradas por novos concorrentes vindos do estrangeiro e outras se fundindo. Adicionalmente notam-se fortes tensões no relacionamento entre as agências e seus clientes nas negociações de preços e de formas de remuneração, assim como mudanças no relacionamento das agências com a mídia. A análise mostra como estão agindo as forças externas descritas pelo modelo ampliado, explicando assim as mudanças em pauta de forma sistemática, ajudando a prever algumas tendências futuras pela análise da evolução das forças. O trabalho serve de base para futuras pesquisas de estudiosos, especialmente das formas de relacionamento na indústria da publicidade, que tem sido pouco explorada pelos meios acadêmicos. Espera-se que o trabalho sirva também como base prática para uma análise estratégica, e decisões de estratégia empresarial, no ambiente das agências de publicidade, indústria esta que necessita de orientação num momento crítico de transformações.
This work presents a study on the model of Structural Analysis of Industries, also called the Five Forces framework, of Michael E. Porter. A historical analysis is made of the evolution of the strategic thinking and of the economical research that, in 1980, resulted in the emergence of Five Forces framework. This is used as a basis for a survey of the different lines of thought on the framework by different scholars, this way widening Porter’s original reach. At the same time this research improves the understanding of the original framework, and deepens, in some aspects, its fundamental assumptions. This work studies the Theory of Complements, or Complementors, as an improvement of the basic framework that can be applied to the Structural Analysis of Industries, improving the understanding of the forces that act on those. As a practical application of this model, a Structural Analysis of the Advertising Industry is made. This industry is going through a slow transformation phase, with many new advertising agencies, some others going out of business, some being bought by foreign competitors, and others merging to form bigger firms. Strong tensions are also noticed in the relationship between the agencies and their clients in price negotiations and compensation methods, as well as changes in the agencies in the relationship of the agencies with the media. The analysis reveals how the external forces are acting, as described by the enlarged framework, helps to explain the changes in a systematic way, and collaborates in the detection of some future tendencies through the analysis of the forces. This work serves as a basis for future academic research, especially on the relationship models adopted in the advertising industry, which has been a theme little explored by the academy. It is expected that this work also serves as a practical base for strategic analysis, and decisions of business strategy, in the advertising and related industries, which are in critical need of orientation in these times of transformation.

The aim of diploma thesis is to evaluate the position of a small company offering services in a golf courses market. Following aims are to show reference both in short run investments and strategic investments. The main tools used in the document are the Porter's five forces, the SWOT analysis, and the analysis of criterions matrix. The output of the diploma statement is that the small company is strongly fixed in the market of golf services. The short term strategic recomendation is to focus on the needs of the target market customers as well as to increase the quality of the services and the golf environment. The main long term strategic recomendation is to rebuilt the old devastated building near by chateau Hrádek u Nechanic into a hotel and restaurant belonging to the golf course. This reconstruction needs to be funded with EU grants at least by 27% of the total cost, therefore by 30.922.000,- CZK.

The subject of my thesis is to undertake a comprehensive analysis of the current status of the company. In the thesis the economic and risk analysis. For economic analysis is used SWOT analysis, Porter's five forces and PEST analysis. From risk analysis, I selected a fault tree analysis FTA and trouble-free assessment of human activities HRA. FTA is used to identify the possible causes of risk and calculate the probability that an unfavorable risk occurs. HRA analysis is used to evaluate the effects of human error on the system. Based on these analyzes identified shortcomings and to suggest effective improvements for the company.
