The scene upon which I focus here – the final duet – was a late addition to the list of primal scenes for this conference. The Don Carlos scenes on the original list were the Posa–Philippe duet and the Quartet, and thus we almost had a session on Don Carlos without the Prince of Spain. Perhaps this is not surprising. Carlos has not fared well in recent writing about the opera.

Abstract:
Este artículo plantea develar el eje antrópico de la mirada hegemónica occidental para comprender cómo opera y de qué manera este genera una mirada. Los objetivos de tal deconstrucción tienen que ver con llevar a cabo un proceso de análisis sobre qué muestra y qué no dicho eje antrópico, y así conocer más sobre la imagen, su creador y su observador. Por otra parte, busca presentar las posibilidades de establecer otro aparato de ver que permita ver al otro, sacar al humano del centro de las coordenadas perceptivas y entender al humano como viviente entre vivientes, cuyas vidas merecen ser vividas. Es importante establecer que una de las maneras como se construyó el discurso de la excepcionalidad del humano pasó por la construcción del cubo perspéctico, aparato de ver estructurante y estructurador de las formas de comprensión del mundo posteriores a esa invención. Este, como todo aparato, es social, produce a su usuario y a su cuerpo. Con ello, genera perspectiva, formas de descripción del mundo, formas de intelección de los fenómenos, esto es, construye una episteme o lo que llamamos una mirada. Este artículo une herramientas epistemológicas provenientes de la teoría de la imagen, de la filosofía, de la historia del arte y de los estudios visuales para llevar a cabo la comprensión de la máquina de ver producida por el Renacimiento y sus manifestaciones de pervivencia en el mundo actual.

El narcoterrorismo en el Perú continúa siendo una realidad incómoda dentro del escenario nacional.Aunque el terrorismo en sí no representa una amenaza como lo fue en los años 80 y 90, ésteha mutado, encontrando nuevas fuentes de financiamiento. Es de esta forma que opera, principalmenteen la región del valle de los ríos Apurímac, Ene y Mantaro (Vraem), la cual se extiende sobrecinco departamentos: Apurímac, Ayacucho, Cuzco, Huancavelica y Junín. El Vraem es una regióndonde la presencia del Estado es poca o nula, incapaz de imponer su imperio, por lo que los terroristasde Sendero Luminoso se asociaron a los narcotraficantes, o en algunos casos, asumieron esepapel. Por consiguiente, los narcoterroristas son capaces de operar a sus anchas, llenando el vacíodejado por el Estado, además que el cultivo de hoja de coca se presenta como la única alternativaeconómica para el campesinado. Por ello, el presente trabajo buscará analizar el impacto que elnarcoterrorismo causa sobre las comunidades campesinas, así como el descaso del Estado Peruano.

Este ensayo introduce un conjunto de reflexiones de estudiosos del mundo andino colonial que, desde dentro y fuera del Perú, se acercan una vez más a la obra de Guaman Poma de Ayala que cumple 405 añosde existencia en 2020. Desconocida, invisible, muda por casi 300 años, la obra del indio ladino se convirtió en un texto locuaz desde la revelación de su descubrimiento en la Biblioteca Real de Copenhague, Dinamarca, aprincipios del siglo XX. En poco más de 100 años, la crónica de Guaman Poma pasó de ser un texto mudo a un texto locuaz sin dejar de ser enigmático y críptico a la vez. Con el fn de contextualizar los estudiosque se presentan aquí, este ensayo hace una revisión de las lecturas y propuestas que se hicieron acerca de la obra de Guaman Poma en el marco de celebración de su cuarto centenario. Reflexiona también acercade la naturaleza abierta del campo de estudios guamanpomianos.

In this paper we discuss the exhibition Post-Opera, a complex and provocative curatorial project by Kris Dittel and Jelena Novak, in which the changeable relations between the voice and the (human) body are investigated from the creative and the theoretical perspectives, relying on juxtaposing and reflection between visual arts, technology and opera. Firstly, in the paper we examine the curatorial procedure, in its shift from the mediatory function between the work and the audience towards the practice, which intervenes in both of these domains and results in an exhibition as an autonomous art object. In the second part we interpret the politics and the effectiveness of the singing and the speaking voice in contemporary art and culture, while in the third part we write about the resemantization of the relation between the singing body and the sung voice within 'installing the operatic'.

Si bien los estudios de gubernamentalidad se han erigido como una alternativa teórica y metodológica relevante para estudiar las políticas sociales, son pocos los trabajos que se han dedicado a estudiar las políticas específicas en la infancia. Como una forma de aportar a la investigación sobre la relación entre gubernamentalidad e infancia, se presentan los resultados de una investigación dirigida a conocer los repertorios interpretativos de un manual de atención psicosocial en el sistema de protección de la infancia en Chile. La metodología consistió en un análisis discursivo del cuerpo del manual basado en la perspectiva de los repertorios interpretativos. Se identificaron cuatro repertorios: 1) cimientos de lo social: la relación como actor; 2) el Estado como agente de racionalidad y salvación nacional; 3) la operación del manual: el Estado como coach, y finalmente 4) la figura de la madre: del sujeto en riesgo al sujeto de riesgo. Se concluye que la producción discursiva de la infancia opera por medio de prácticas discursivas cuya función es su despolitización, bajo grillas interpretativas de corte naturalístico que opacan las relaciones de poder, económicas y de saber que cruzan la pobreza infantil y las tensiones entre el saber científico y el saber empírico de las madres.

La poca claridad del concepto barrio elaborado por las ciencias sociales, ha permitido que dicha definición sea conceptualizada mayormente por la arquitectura o por determinados términos jurídicos. Es decir, se teoriza desde lo que se puede observar, pasando por alto las identidades que los barrios van formando. Esta poca claridad conceptual trae consigo a demás que el barrio sea considerado como la esencia de la realidad urbana y no como un aspecto contingente, cayendo en la ideologización del mismo y tratándolo como unidad base de la ciudad, condicionándolo al desarrollo de la misma. Sin embargo, el barrio opera con un tiempo y un espacio social distinto al de la ciudad. Por tanto, debe de observarse desde otra vereda y con otra intencionalidad. Desde esta concepción, necesariamente hay que estudiar al barrio alejado de la ciudad. Es decir, como unidad al margen de la constitución céntrica de la misma, con el fin de establecer la separación de una identidad principal, y de diferentes identidades que circulan y se materializan en el barrio.

Pertunjukan teater The Eyes of Marege kolaborasi Teater Kita Makassar dengan Australian Performing Exhange dipentaskan pada OzAsia Festival tanggal 27 – 29 September 2007 di Playhouse Adelaide, dan tanggal 5 – 7 Oktober 2007 di Studio Opera House, Sydney. Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis fokus masalah: nilai-nilai budaya Makassar dalam karakter tokoh pada pertunjukan tersebut. Data dari jenis penelitian kualitatif ini diperoleh melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil data dideskripsikan dan dianalisis berdasarkan pendekatan kebudayaan dan kajian semiotika teater. Adapun pola relasi antartokoh dianalisis dengan menggunakan model aktantial Greimas. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa karakter tokoh dalam pertunjukan teater The Eyes of Marege yang mewakili suku-bangsaMakassar mengandung nilai-nilai budaya Makassar, antara lain: nilai-nilai siri’ na pacce, nilai-nilai tausipakatau, nilai-nilai pangngadakkang, dan nilai-nilai islam.

Celem artykułu jest poszerzenie pola poetyki o doświadczenia haptyczne podczas kontaktu z tekstem literackim w odniesieniu do literatury dziecięcej. Główne koncepcje zostały wypracowane w odniesieniu do kategorii somatopoetyki bazującej na poznaniu ucieleśnionym. Artykuł zwraca uwagę na zwrot materialny w badaniach nad literaturą dziecięcą oraz na odejście od traktowania jej jako konstruktu społecznego, przyznając w to miejsce prymarną rolę afektom i pracy wyobraźni. Główna teza artykułu opiera się na stwierdzeniu, że literatura dziecięca jest formą myślenia poprzez doznania haptyczne.

Nel suo ruolo di filtro dinamico e selettivo dei flussi energetici tra ambiente interno e ambiente esterno, il serramento costituisce un elemento essenziale dell’involucro edilizio, a cui contribuisce significativamente a determinare le prestazioni. Spinto da norme tecniche sempre più esigenti, il settore dei serramenti ha progressivamente innalzato gli standard dei prodotti offerti sul mercato. Le modalità di installazione non hanno progredito di pari passo, e ciò spesso vanifica gli effetti attesi dai committenti e fa aumentare il contenzioso. La tesi affronta il tema della posa in opera del sistema finestra, delineando i compiti dei diversi operatori coinvolti nel processo secondo quanto previso dalle norme tecniche e fornendo alcuni esempi di corretta progettazione dei giunti di posa.

Abstract:
The evaluation of the variability of results in acoustic measurements in buildings is a matter of great interest among researchers, relating to the development of standards and legislation. This work focuses on the variability due to the mounting conditions and to the measurement method. The variability and issues related to the UNI 11367 standard were also analyzed. All the assessments were based on extended campaigns of acoustic measurements in buildings. In order to estimate the single contribution of the mounting conditions, a statistical approach taken from UNI ISO 5725-3 standard was studied and tested by measurements on the field. The opportunity to provide indications about “robust” technological solutions and to check afterwards the effect of mounting errors in a building are the main advantages of this method. The analysis continued with the collection of typical designs and workmanship errors and with the preparation of checklists for both the design and the realization phases. The aim was to provide appropriate support tools for designers and construction managers, in order to limit the effects of mounting conditions. The variability due to the measurement method was dealt with through the evaluation of the single variability factors considered more critical: the measurement technique and the position/type of source. The analysis was carried out by using both the statistical approach defined above and empirical experiments. Here an alternative manual scanning technique was described and tested on the field. Finally, the variability linked to the UNI 11367 standard (regarding the sound classification of single properties) was assessed. Through many measurements carried out on non-serial buildings, the most critical aspects related to the sampling procedure (usually used for serial buildings) and to the draft guidelines U20002150 (referring to the application of the acoustic classification for nonserial buildings) was shown.

Abstract:
Thought of as the hero of the opera at the premiere but described later as being somewhat monochromatic and uninteresting, the role of Posa in Verdi's Don Carlos has recently attracted more attention. On the one hand he is portrayed as a naive ideologue, on the other a ruthless manipulator of persons. It is my intent to show that in crafting the character of Posa, Verdi shaped the music to portray him as a righteous diplomat: diplomatic in that he speaks the musical language of the person to whom he is making his political entreaties, and righteous in that his music stands in stark contrast to that of Le Grand Inquisiteur and is more aligned with that of Une Voix d'en Haut. I put forth and defend the personal interpretation that Posa could, in fact, be a Calvinist. How this theory affects the performance of this role is demonstrated through an investigation of the dramatic impulses of the Trio of Acte III, 3me Tableau.

Le problematiche ambientali e la loro attinenza con il settore delle costruzioni rappresentano un importante ambito di intervento per i prossimi anni. Il cambiamento culturale in atto e l’evoluzione del quadro normativo hanno condotto allo sviluppo di nuovi modi di operare, di sistemi costruttivi e materiali innovativi. Progettisti e imprese di costruzioni hanno intuito le potenzialità che derivano dall’adozione di soluzioni volte all'efficienza energetica ma, denunciano spesso difficoltà nel mettere a sistema in modo organico e integrato l’innovazione e gli obblighi normativi con le tecniche consolidate di realizzazione degli edifici. Frequentemente molte soluzioni sono infatti poco conosciute nella tecnica e, laddove non vi è una preparazione appropriata, il rischio di pregiudicare i vantaggi energetico - ambientali ed economici attesi è maggiore. A partire da queste considerazioni, la ricerca ha sviluppato uno strumento metodologico e tecnico per definire criteri progettuali e mettere in luce attenzioni esecutive che riguardano soluzioni d’involucro ad alte prestazioni, proponendo un apporto nella gestione della delicata fase di trasferimento delle informazioni di dettaglio tecnologico agli operatori di cantiere.

In this thesis we propose a description of the operad defining post-Lie algebras in terms of rooted trees and we discuss some applications of such a construction. In particular, we re-derive both the free post-Lie algebra defined in [22] and the main result of the paper [8]. Furthermore, a possible extension of the concept of symmetric brace algebra to the category of the post-Lie algebras is proposed.
Nessa tese propomos a descrição da operad que define as álgebras pós-Lie em termos de árvores enraizadas e discutimos algumas aplicações dessa construção. Em particular, nós obtemos novamente a álgebra pós-Lie livre definida em [22] e o resultado principal do artigo [8]. Além disso, uma possível extensão do conceito de álgebra brace simétrica à categoria de álgebras pós-Lie é apresentada.

Abstract:
This submission for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy focuses on works for large instrumental ensemble in conjunction with the voice. Instrumental ensemble and vocal mediums such as the orchestral art song, the song cycle and the opera in one act, provide platforms to explore the expressiveness of the lyrical dramatic voice and the dialectic tension between composing for the solo voice with a range of instrumental ensemble forces. The portfolio of compositions includes the orchestral song, The Woman Who Refused to Dance; the orchestral song trilogy, Spirit Songs; and the opera in one act, Queen Nanny of the Maroons. Issues of composition technique, vocal expression and operatic narrative are examined and in addition the three named works explore notions of post-colonial heroic representation of subjects that might not usually attract ideological recognition in Western European art music contexts. Methods for developing inclusive, post-modern musical language for the mixed instrumental and vocal ensemble are explored; including the employment of spoken word expression and the integration of popular music idioms within contemporary Western European art music contexts. In the writing of lyrics for the songs and libretto for the opera, increased responsibility is assumed in the completion of vocal works in addition to musical consideration to find the effects on the works when the roles of composer and writer are combined. With the opera in one act for solo voice, forming the major contribution to the portfolio, critical components that lead to effective music drama are assessed.

Abstract:

This thesis examines how multilingual spaces in South Africa are imagined and reconstructed through the use of scripted codeswitching in 7de Laan. It explores how the socio-political discourses and other ideologies from the broader South African context shape and influence the ways in which the soap reconstructs multilingual spaces and the identities that exist within these spaces through language and language practices. In the literature presented in this study I explore various theories and case studies that examine Afrikaans and its indexicality in our 
contemporary society, the conventions of soap opera in representing &lsquo
reality&rsquo
to society, the role of codeswitching in multilingual mass communication, the policies and ideologies that govern post apartheid television and finally the link between ideology, the media, language and imagined identities.. These five overarching themes often overlap throughout this thesis. My investigation of the main questions set in this thesis is based on a triangulated analysis of (a) a five episode transcript of the soap, (b) solicited viewer perceptions gleaned from questionnaires and (c) unsolicited social media commentaries. This analysis is framed by a poststructuralist critical analysis with a specific focus on how social practices and contemporary ideologies manifest in the discourse of the soap. This approach views discourse as the juncture where identity, stereotypes and power are negotiated, enforced, imagined and challenged. In this thesis I argue that the conspicuous absence of indigenous African languages and the use of standard white Afrikaans as the lingua franca in the soap creates an unrealistic utopian portrayal of the new South Africa that naturalises white Afrikaans culture and marginalises other indigenous cultures and languages. I argue that the soap puts middle class white Afrikaners at the epicentre of South African society thus enforcing the idea that non-whites still need to conform to white Afrikaans standards and norms at the expense of their own culture and languages despite the inception of democracy. The soap offers no depictions of resistance to this dominant white Afrikaans culture, thus misleadingly portraying it as the uncontested dominant culture of the new South Africa.

This chapter examines how music becomes inscribed with social power. Topics considered include the reorganization of huju troupes in the new People's Republic of China, post-1949; the impact of the specialist composer since the 1950s; the changing role of the performer; and the expression of political content in dramatic situations, words, actions, and music. Regional opera styles, such as Shanghai opera, it turns out, led the way in the reform of traditional opera in mainland China, with adaptations applied in these styles later transplanted to more established historical forms such as Beijing opera. It is argued that music in huju makes a special contribution to the ‘envoicing’ of the weak, a tendency that becomes problematic at times when the ordinary folk who people these operas must be portrayed as dauntless revolutionaries. Ironically, perhaps, the operas produced at the most publicly politicized periods of China's recent history are those that now appear the least eloquent in terms of their political argument.

This chapter explains the interplay of race, gender, and opera after 1945. Narratives of post-war West German and Austrian cultural life frequently show Anglo-American actors as the primary agents of change. Following the Holocaust and the Nazi racial state, the Allied powers pushed policies to drastically alter the function of German musical culture. Longstanding notions of Blackness shaped the production and reception of operas featuring Black singers in West Germany and Austria. The chapter references Annabelle Bernard, the first Black woman to be part of a German ensemble, who indicated the lack of opportunity in America made her stay in Europe to sing.

This chapter places Winnie: The Opera (Bongani Ndodana-Breen, Warren Wilensky, and Mfundi Vundla, 2011) in a larger comparative framework that includes the Western opera tradition, opera in the United States, and the representation of blackness in opera more generally. With a reading of postcolonial and post-apartheid theorists (for example, Homi Bhabha and the “unhomely,” Karin Barber and entextualization, and Sarah Nuttal’s entanglement), this chapter also draws upon the Global South (and global studies) along with transnationalism. This chapter examines events from the opera in Winnie Mandela’s life (torture, the Mandela United Football Club, and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission) as they are characterized musically and in the drama.

For the United States, the focus explores the creation of an American operatic tradition outside Europe and one that features black composers and singers. For South Africa, the focus explores the experiences of Angelo Gobbato who worked in opera through the last decades of apartheid and into the new millennium with integrated casts and Neo Muyanga (Soweto-born composer) who was educated in Europe during the last decades of apartheid and has become a leading voice in the post-apartheid black opera scene. For a young nation renowned for a cultural cringe – an old self-deprecating national joke says that the only Australian culture to be found is in yoghurt – the idea of building a massive arts complex was a big concern for the Sydney government of the post-war 1950s. This new building could inspire inventiveness on the stage, with a beautiful exterior that would be a landmark for the city. An architectural competition was started in 1955 for the creation of a new opera house building. The winner was a young Dane called Jørn Utzon, with an innovative design using the city’s harbour theme of waves and yacht sails. Indeed, the complexity of the design meant the building took decades to build and was only officially opened in October 1973. For decades the building sat around in various stages of completion. John Weiley’s documentary Autopsy on a Dream (2013) examines the painful origins of this building, as well as the political change that led to the resignation of Utzon. Weiley explains how the high-profile building site also served as a formative film-making playground for aspiring film-makers in the 1960s and 1970s: right from its start the Opera House was linked to film.

Abstract: While there is an abundance of commentary and criticism on Le Corbusier’s effect upon architecture and planning globally – in Europe, Northern Africa, the Americas and the Indian sub-continent – there is very little dealing with other contexts such as Australia. The paper will offer a first appraisal of Le Corbusier’s relationship with Australia, providing example of the significant international reach of his ideas to places he was never to set foot. It draws attention to Le Corbusier's contacts with architects who practiced in Australia and little known instances of his connections - his drawing of the City of Adelaide plan (1950) and his commission for art at Jorn Utzon's Sydney Opera House (1958). The paper also considers the ways that Le Corbusier’s work underwent translation into Australian architecture and urbanism in the mid to late 20th century through the influence his work exerted on others, identifying further possibilities for research on the topic. O aumento da autonomia de um dispositivo de comunicação, aliado à sua forma de operação, está relacionado com seu consumo de energia. Em redes ad hoc e de sensores sem fio deseja-se que o dispositivo possa operar com a melhor eficiência possível e com o mínimo de interferência humana durante seu funcionamento. Neste artigo, um estudo foi realizado sobre a energia gasta para realização da comunicação em um salto E1hop (energia consumida por bit para transmissão com sucesso em um salto) empregando slotted Aloha como protocolo de acesso ao meio a fim de proporcionar, na camada física e de enlace, a otimização da potência de transmissão (Pt) em função do número de bits do pacote (Nb) e da taxa de transmissão de dados (R). Nossos resultados indicam que é possível se obter valores ótimos de Pt em função de Nb e R que resultam em reduzido consumo de energia nestas redes.

Abstract:
Los problemas medioambientales asociados al uso de combustibles fósiles y la eventual escasez de estos han motivado el desarrollo de tecnologías de aprovechamiento de fuentes renovables de energía. Entre estas, sobresale la biomasa, por su disponibilidad, producción con poca dependencia de las condiciones ambientales y facilidad de conversión. Por otro lado, en Colombia se producen cerca de 520.000 toneladas de cascarilla de arroz anualmente, ubicando este residuo como uno de los de mayor potencial energético. Entre los métodos de aprovechamiento, se destaca la gasificación por generar un gas que puede ser empleado en máquinas térmicas convencionales luego de pocas modificaciones. En Colombia existen muy pocas experiencias documentadas en las que se utilice la gasificación como mecanismo de valoración energética de la biomasa y dada la gran aplicabilidad de esta tecnología, en este proyecto se presenta el diseño y los avances en la construcción de un prototipo de gasificación de lecho fijo equicorriente de núcleo abierto para operar con cascarilla de arroz. Se selecciona como potencia de diseño 20 kWth, debido a que, de usar el gas para generación eléctrica, podría ser empleado en grupos electrógenos de baja potencia, inferior a 5kWe, los cuales son de uso común en zonas con bajo nivel de acceso a la electricidad. El diseño del reactor parte de mediciones experimentales exploratorias realizadas en un gasificador equicorriente invertido, en donde se determinó que la tasa específica de gasificación (SGR) varía entre 120 y 200 kg/h/m2 mientras se produce un gas con poder calorífico inferior (PCI) entre 3.5 y 4 MJ/Nm3, valores que dependen del flujo de gasificante empleado y del estado termoquímico del proceso. Haciendo uso de relaciones termodinámicas y de métodos Heurísticos, se determinan las dimensiones principales del reactor, así como sistemas y subsistemas requeridos para su operación en continuo. De los resultados se destaca que, para la potencia de diseño definida, se requiere de un lecho cilíndrico de sección transversal de diámetro 0.35 m y longitud de 1 m. Las temperaturas alcanzadas en las pruebas exploratorias se mantuvieron por debajo de lo que permite emplear acero inoxidable AISI 304 como material de la zona de reacción. Actualmente la construcción del reactor presenta un grado de avance cercano a 90% y se han iniciado pruebas de verificación de flujo de biomasa en frio.

Playas de Rosarito es el municipio de más reciente creación y con mayor vocación turística de Baja California. Alrededor de su principal atractivo, el sol y la playa, opera una creciente oferta de servicios de hospedaje, alimentación y espacios para la recreación y el esparcimiento, y últimamente un importante crecimiento de turismo de segunda residencia; sin embargo, la proliferación de discotecas ha propiciado la afluencia de un turismo juvenil con poca capacidad de gasto que se interesa más en diversión nocturna. Un turismo joven con poca sensibilidad ambiental, que aunada a la falta de escrúpulos de algunos servidores turísticos, está provocando una alta concentración y aglomeración de usuarios en espacios específicos y el gradual deterioro de su principal atractivo, la “playa”, así como la disminución de la afluencia del turismo familiar que recibe anualmente. Considerando lo anterior, el presente artículo expone la importancia de identificar y caracterizar nuevas alternativas turísticas recreativas como estrategia de planificación y de desarrollo, para integrar la región interior del municipio rosaritense a la dinámica económica y de desarrollo del espacio costero y evitar así, o disminuir al menos, la sobre-explotación de su principal recurso turístico (la playa), preservar la afluencia del turismo familiar, diversificar la oferta turística municipal y promover la afluencia de turistas con intereses diferentes al tradicional sol y playa. La detección e identificación de recursos naturales susceptibles de aprovechamiento turístico se llevó a cabo mediante visitas de reconocimiento y observación directa en la zona rural interior del municipio, y mediante un análisis de debilidades, amenazas, fortalezas y oportunidades se procedió a su selección y caracterización, que a partir de una planificación territorial permitiera una explotación de sus recursos de manera sustentable y con beneficios directos para la población local. Entre los sitios naturales visitados se seleccionaron tres, con potencial para prácticas de campismo, senderismo, motocross, ciclismo de montaña, alpinismo para principiantes y rappel, etc.; es decir, en general se detecta la viabilidad de realizar actividades turísticas y recreativas de bajo impacto. Los sitios seleccionados en general, no requieren grandes inversiones sino más bien del interés y voluntad de quienes se beneficiarían con su explotación; propietarios de los suelos en donde se encuentran los sitios, servidores turísticos y autoridades responsables de la planificación y promoción turística. Dentro de este contexto, el estudio dirige su mirada hacia la zona del interior del municipio como campo de trabajo en pos de encontrar e intentar potenciar estos sitios y hacer frente, no solo a cuestiones de competencia y satisfacer las nuevas exigencias del turista de hoy, sino que también permita una disminución en los impactos ambientales que son generados por el turismo en el litoral, una creación de nuevas fuentes de empleo en las zonas marginadas, un combate a la deserción en las zonas rurales y el ofrecimiento de una perspectiva de mejora en la calidad de vida de los pobladores de la zona rural de Rosarito; entendiendo que la integración del interior a la dinámica turística costera sea el resultado de una planeación territorial y desarrollo sustentable controlado.

El primer trimestre del 2020 será una fecha muy difícil de olvidar para la humanidad, ya que fue cuando impacto con mayor fuerza la pandemia de Covid-19 al nivel mundial, mostrando todas las debilidades que tienen como sociedad, y la poca preparación, medios , instrumentos y disciplina que existe para enfrentar un fenómeno de este tipo a una macroescala tal como sucedió. En México en el campo de la educación en todos sus niveles, los ambientes virtuales y digitales fueron la herramienta más poderosa para poder salir adelante durante la pandemia, pero así como en otras áreas se verán las fortalezas y debilidades que se tiene para tratar de solventar y en parte reemplazar todo lo que ofrece la educación presencial, mostrando los niveles tan marcados que existen de desigualdad social y las carencias limitadas para poder operar ante las contingencias sanitarias. Es por eso que, la siguiente investigación muestra como fueron utilizados algunos de los ambientes virtuales y digitales en el campo de la educación mexicana y además de ciertos resultados originados por este análisis (positivos como los negativos) y qué serán de gran ayuda contribuyendo en un futuro en poder aprender de esta experiencia para ser utilizado como una herramienta poderosa a favor de la educación y de la sociedad. Por último se veran algunas de las acciones y propuestas de solución utilizando los entornos virtuales y digitales por parte del área de diseño industrial de la Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México y que están pensadas para contribuir a combatir al Covid-19 desde el sector educativo y social.

La pandemia de la COVID-19 ha acelerado tendencias en la economía digital que no se preveían alcanzar hasta dentro de cinco o diez años, alterado nuestra cotidianeidad, fomentando desde nuevas dinámicas sociales hasta nuevos patrones de consumo, al mismo tiempo que ha supuesto un verdadero punto de inflexión en muchos ámbitos de nuestra vida personal y colectiva. Uno de los sectores que ha sufrido un impacto mayor es el de la economía digital, y, especialmente el de la economía de plataformas, tanto a nivel económico como laboral. Las plataformas digitales han iniciado un proceso de adaptación a este nuevo contexto para ajustarse a las nuevas necesidades de consumidores, empresas y trabajadores. Sin embargo, todavía existe poca información acerca de la magnitud de los impactos de la COVID-19 en la economía de plataformas y sobre las medidas que el sector está tomando para adaptarse a esta nueva realidad. Por ello el laboratorio de Digital Future Society (DFS Lab) y el laboratorio de innovación del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID Lab) han elaborado este informe en el que se recoge la voz de 34 plataformas laborales digitales que operan en España y/o en América Latina en alguno de los tres sectores analizados: los repartos, los cuidados y los servicios virtuales. Este informe presenta sus experiencias en relación con el impacto de la COVID-19 y su percepción del futuro de la economía de plataformas.
