Full textA close analysis at the tourism area unveils a handful of problems and difficulties which could be explained by all the unadapted strategies and variables implemented by producers of vacation packages using mix marketing, both in the private enterprises and in the local administrative units. A close look at the sector of tourism, its organisation and the way people consume it reveals that it is necessary to proceed to a new analysis. This research offers to contribute to change segmentation strategies as well as the choice of targets markets and positioning. It aims at changing the decisions taken as far as the variables of mix marketing (product, price, place and promotion) whilst analysing the behaviour of people consuming tourism. In order to do so, this work proposes to integrate two ways of researching on the behaviour of people consuming tourism. The first approach corresponds to all the different traditionnal works carried out on this topic and based on information processing. Thanks to the different works produced in human sciences, we have tried to present a more modern approach of the work from Holbrook and Hirschman (1982) and thus we have tried to prove that the behaviour of people consuming tourism would be seen as equal to an experiential consumption behaviour. Indeed, this work considers that any individual consumes experiences and hence proposes a new way of analysing the decision making process. In other words, our research is based on these two approaches. It then picks out some variables from these two approaches that could be relevant and help to understand how people select a special tourist product: the vacation destination

Full textIn this thesis we defend the idea according to which it is possible to think strategies of brand positioning according to a socio-political approach to markets to the heart of which is the social field concept. The main contribution of our research is to attempt to produce an original typology of strategy of positioning of the challenger firms, or at least to have formulated a proposition. This is not only descriptive but presents the advantages to be constructed theoretically: it constructs itself on the basis of the report by the rules dictated by the market enterprise leaders. The second contribution of our research is to offer a framework that permits to think better the position of enterprises leaders identifying its strategic problem. In order to become the market leader and to preserve and to perpetuate this position this requires thinking through the positioning in terms of legitimacy. The Weber classification of the three types of domination legitimate appears to us especially indicated like a possible reading grid. The third contribution of our research is linked with the sociological perspective of the market in which we take place. Rather than to consider the market only like a place where meets the offer and the demand of a certain good, we consider it more of a dynamic field

Full textLe positionnement des acides aminés Sérine/Thréonine initialement glycosylés est alors réalisé par spectrométrie de masse en tandem. Une dérivation préalable de l'extrémité amino-terminale par une charge permanente apportée par un cation phosphonium est apparue indispensable au séquençage de ces peptides particulièrement riches en acides aminés hydroxylés. En effet, la dissociation des précurseurs protonés se traduit pour une large part par la perte d'H2O ou de CH3CHO (acétaldéhyde). Les spectres ne comportent pas de séries complètes d'ions y et/ou b indispensables à la localisation des acides aminés initialement glycosylés, la dérivation apparaissant dès lors essentielle. Par ailleurs, une étude des comportements dissociatifs des précurseurs MH+, M2H2+, C+ et CH2+ démontre le rôle catalytique d'un proton " mobile " dans la fragmentation prédominante des glycopeptides au niveau de la liaison glycanne-Sérine/Thréonine. Une étude par spectrométrie de masse en tandem des précurseurs deutérés permet en outre de démontrer l'implication d'un proton non-échangeable dans le mécanisme de rupture. Il ressort de cette étude que le séquençage et la localisation des structures O-glycopeptidiques peuvent-être envisagés de manière hautement prédictive et sans ambigui͏̈té par l'analyse des spectres de dissociation des ions précurseurs monochargés cationisés à l'aide d'une charge permanente. Une illustration en est donnée par le séquençage et la localisation de l'ensemble des sites O-glycosylés de glycopeptides de type MUC5AC réalisés par spectrométrie de masse MALDI-PSD-TOF

Full textThe aim of perioperative haemodynamic optimization is to maximize oxygen delivery and/or stroke volume during high risk surgery. This concept has evolved during the last thirty years, to a simpler, more feasible and less invasive approach. Main treatments used in different hemodynamic optimization protocols are fluid loading, inotropes and vasopressors administration. However, pathophysiological consequences of surgical stress can greatly impact the mode of administration and the efficacy of the above therapeutics. In the first study, we described the impact of respiratory and metabolic acidosis (frequently encountered during major surgery and/or laparoscopic surgery) on the effectiveness of α and β-adrenergic agents in healthy rat myocardium. In a second work, we demonstrated that intravenous fluids cannot be guided by dynamic indices of preload dependency during surgical clamping of the infrarenal abdominal aorta in a porcine model. Finally, in the third study, we demonstrated in a clinical model, that positioning in prone position during spine surgery induced major changes in cardiorespiratory interactions and dynamic indices should be interpreted with caution to guide fluid therapy in this context. These translational studies highlight three common situations impacting the effectiveness and/or administration of therapeutic necessary for intraoperative hemodynamic optimization

Full textThe presented work consists to improve milling process of sculptured surfaces. The aim is to reduce disturbances during machining in order to obtain a better surface roughness without increasing the manufacturing time. The study was conducted in 5-axis milling for torus cutter with round inserts suitable for the considered parts. The first part of this study establishes a cutting force model with a tool axis inclination towards the back of the tool. It leads to a formulation to balance the transversal cutting force that brings a significant improvement on tool dynamic behaviour. The second part presents a free gouging tool positioning and an associated strategy using the balance of transversal cutting force. The proposed method is globally validated on a complete example of sculptured surface machining

Full textThis study aims to analyse the weakening of media and communication monopoly of the Party-Sate in Ceausescu’s Romania and in the context of the growing transnational flow of cultural products during the emerging globalization of the '70s and '80s decades. The three parts of the study are describing this problem: the first part examines the strategy of the cultural policy of the Party-State, seen here as a key phase which guides the conception of the cultural and information offer of products made available on the market. The gradual deterioration of the Romanian cultural policy questions its effects in the offers’ development. The second part of the thesis is trying to provide some answers: the official offer shows a decline in quantity and in quality, especially during the '80s, as overburdened by a growing segment of propaganda products. At the same time, it no longer corresponds to the expectations of the public addressed, which asserts itself as an active player in the market, participating among other actors, local or international, in creating an alternative market for cultural and information products. So what is the response of the Party-Sate in this new competitive environment? Does it have any particular strategy to maintain its monopoly on media and communication? The third part of the thesis explores the instrumental use of the Youth Research Institute in Bucharest as a tracking device in the service of the Party-State to prevent the emergence of an alternative sphere of communication

Full textTraditional work on organized crime indicates that one’s status determines his individual success. Alternative research on criminal organization’s networks and criminal success however, reveal that the rank is less important than generally believed and that the measures of strategic positioning in a network are more likely to influence criminal achievement. This thesis examines income fluctuations within the Hells Angels Nomads, an illegal drug distribution organization in Québec. The purpose of this study is to distinguish the factors contributing to these differences in criminal success according to an offender’s strategic or vulnerable positioning within its network, using self-report account data. The results show that the average amount of money traded is much higher than what is usually identified in the literature and its distribution is largely uneven. The disparity of opportunity related to criminal association is also reflected in the polarization between highly privileged individuals and other individuals who have a poor positioning capacity. The interaction between position and earning inequalities demonstrates that the positioning of an individual in its network is a better predictor of success than rank or any other criminal context variable. Most importantly, and in opposition with the literature, achieving high rank would be detrimental to one’s criminal success. Results demonstrate that this state reduces access to credit, reduces the amount of drug per transaction and increases the price of drugs per unit.

Full textCe mémoire fait l’état des lieux des projets de transport du Plan Nord du gouvernement du Québec. Son but est de déterminer si les infrastructures de transport prévues s’inscrivent en continuité avec le développement territorial du Québec sur le plan du design, du positionnement et de la planification. L’étude s’articule autour de quatre étapes. Tout d'abord une revue de littérature du Plan Nord, du développement du Nord québécois et méthodologique est réalisée. Ensuite, une analyse de design des infrastructures de transport est produite par le biais des schémas d'aménagement et documents de planification. Troisièmement, des entrevues réalisées avec les principaux acteurs concernés permettent de déterminer la composante du positionnement. Finalement, les projets du Plan Nord sont vérifiés par une méthode de planification stratégique hybride SWOT-PESTEL. L’étude démontre que bien que certains projets soient en adéquation sur les trois plans étudiés, d’autres s’inscrivent mal dans la démarche de planification stratégique.
This thesis contains a situation report about the transportation projects proposed within the Quebec Government’s Plan Nord. The objective is to verify if the planned transport infrastructures are coherent with the historical territorial development of Quebec, specifically design, positioning and planning. Firstly, we conduct a literature review on the Plan Nord, Quebec’s northern development, and methodological practices. Secondly, an analysis of the design behind the infrastructure projects is done with the various development plans produced by Quebec’s counties and regions. Thirdly, we verify the positioning of the projects relative to the answers given by multiple stakeholders during interviews. Lastly, the transport projects of the Plan Nord are analysed through a hybrid SWOT-PESTEL strategic planning method. The results unveil that while some transport projects fit with the patterns obtained, others doesn’t fit and should not be put forward.
