Abstract:
One of the most important elements of postmodernity is the growing awareness of the diversity and potential incommensurability of the various forms of cultural life that sustain groups and individuals and addresses the postmodernist denial that postmodernism is inherently apathetic or hostile to social or political action. Postmodernism is a reaction to the epistemological ideals of modernity. Postmodernism is based on a limited human point of view, and thus becomes a prisoner of its own subjectivity, resulting in two main characteristics, namely pluralism and relativism. This study analyzes the postmodern view that is implemented in Christian education in Indonesia. The method used in this article is a literature study by using philosophical biblical glasses to analyze postmodern views. The result is that postmodern moral education (such as transcendentalism and idealism) has some useful and some negative aspects that should be considered for planning moral education and curriculum development for Christian education in Indonesia.

Abstract:
In their work published in 2001, “After Postmodernism” (López, Potter 2001), the editors Garry Potter and José López claim that postmodernism was the most influential intellectual trend of the last third of the 20th century, and one of the central trends in the Western cultural-theoretical thinking since the 1960s. Postmodernism managed to grasp the spirit of the time and at the same time challenge self-confidence, presented by the mind, objectivity and knowledge (ib. 3). At the same time the authors have to admit that by the beginning of the 21st century the heyday of postmodernism had passed, postmodernism was in the “stage of decline” and “out of fashion” (ib. 4). Today, in 2011, we have to admit that the early-decade prediction of Potter and López has come true; postmodern society is retreating and the postmodernist theory is on the decline and losing its central role.

Abstract:
Currently, the literary process is witnessing the emergence of a new trend — post-postmodernism, developing along several lines. The article offers a review of theoretical works of Russian and foreign authors, devoted to the study of post-postmodernism, its main characteristics, and terminology. On the basis of the novel "The Circle" (2013), written by the American writer Dave Eggers, which has not yet become the subject of study in Russian literary criticism, the authors explore the main features of metamodernism as one of the directions of post-postmodernism. The methodology of the study is based on the principles of interpretive analysis and comparative historical observation. The analysis of several contemporary English-language novels suggests that post-postmodernism attempts to reconstruct what has been deconstructed in postmodernism while retaining some of its attitudes. A detailed examination of Eggers' novel shows that it exhibits both postmodernist (a complex combination of genre forms) and metamodernist characteristics. A closer look at Eggers' text shows that it exhibits both postmodernist (a complex combination of genre forms) and metamodernist features (rejection of the postulate of ' the death of the author' and explication of the authorial position, post irony, neorealism, an appeal to ‘new sincerity’). The results of this study may be used in further research in this field, as well as in the development of teaching material for philological disciplines at universities.

Abstract:
This article examines contemporary critical positions in African literature that mark off perceptible shifts in focus from issues of primal postcolonialism to a more self-reflexive treatment of postmodernism in contemporary African literature. Contemporary African literary works, novels, and plays have become markedly self-reflexive in the way they rewrite one another and draw attention to their own functionality and fictionality. These works present stylistic and thematic departures that challenge the nationalist and realist trend of earlier writing. Creative works further depart from the tradition of “writing back” to the European colonial center by focusing their gaze on local forms of oppression that are seen to parallel classical colonialism. Yet, while critics have separately studied postmodernism and self-reflexivity in African texts, the intersection of the two has not been given sufficient attention. The purpose of this analytical paper then is to decipher postmodernist aesthetics in African literary works, novels and plays, as developed to a higher level of self-consciousness. The specific question I address is to what extent postmodernism expresses itself as an outgrowth of modernism and postcolonialism? With globalisation following immediately after the peak of Postmodernism; the contemporary mood of literature frequently switched between the typical postmodernist denial of classifications and the constant cosmopolitan tendencies of identical consumerism all over the world. As a consequence, such literature was produced which showcased the dynamic contemporary dispositions of a consumerist society that individualistically engages itself in postmodernist abstractions and cosmopolitan self-absorption.

Abstract:
This article examines the modern Indonesian women’s prose and its interaction with the elements of postmodernist paradigm. The object of this research is the novelistic writing of the prominent Indonesian author Dewi Lestari on the example of the novel "“Supernova: The Knight, The Princess, and The Falling Star” (Supernova: Ksatria, Puteri, dan Bintang Jatuh, 2001), which is part of the series “Supernova” (2001-2016). Fiction, as the “median” field in literature, embraces various codes of language art. Relying on the tested patterns of popular literature, it can also appeal to postmodernism. In the latter case, the works are characterized by the presence of deconstructive and game (including simulation) principles. The example of application of the codes of fiction and postmodernism is the novel of under review. An important role in the research is played by the literary-theoretical, typological, and descriptive methods. The work of Dewi Lestari has not yet been considered from the perspective of postmodernist game technique and involvement of the concept of simulacrum. An attempt to do this on the example of her most famous works defines the novelty of this research, as well as the noticeable place of postmodernism in Eastern literatures makes relevant it analysis based on the original Indonesian literature. Reference to the poetics of postmodernism through borrowing the simulation game technique allowed Lestari to create a commercially successful product. The perception of the text by each reader in accordance with their worldview, and engagement in the game proposed by Lestari, correspond to the ideas of the postmodernist interpretation of the literary text, as well as to the laws of the market. This is why modern Indonesian writers refer to the postmodernist paradigm.

Abstract:
This paper addresses language use in Alobwed’epie’s the Death Certificate from a postmodernist perspective. It seeks to show that the author of the selected novel, like many postcolonial African writers, attempts to assert his culture through some sort of indigenisation and intentional flouting of old canons of literature. Given that the present paper is anchored on postmodernism, the postmodernist theory the author’s is used to explain Alobwed’Epie’s perception of life and literature to assert his cultural identity through some sort of linguistic revolution. As a matter of fact, language is used in a very carefree and innovative way in order to escape the idealistic dictum of literary norms. Indigenisation is then regarded as a postmodernist technique, which aims at valorising the African identity and rejecting all the metanarratives of how a work of art should be produced. Obviously, in the present article postmodernism are both a theoretical framework and an object of study. The use of local languages and other languages like Pidgin in the novel under study has demonstrated that the then marginalised languages have moved from the margin towards the Centre and become established languages of African literature. The paper briefly discusses the emergence of postmodernism and shows how the traditional conventions have been deconstructed and substituted for new ideologies that have revolutionised the African literary landscape. It equally reviews selected previous works on language in African novels as well as on postmodernism that came up in the late 1950s as revolutionary responses to preceding movements. The paper ends with an account of the linguistic features of postmodernism used in the novel.

Abstract:
The article deals with such a literary trend as postmodernism and its self-expression in modern Azerbaijani literature. The article contains the review of the different scientists’, philosophers’ and writers’ views related to the postmodernism, forms of its manifestation and its impact on Azerbaijani literature. Many Azerbaijani writers created their works under the influence of European literature in the postmodernist style during the period of independence. Their works are analyzed on the basis of the concrete facts. It is noted that while encompassing a wide variety of approaches, postmodernism is generally defined by an attitude of skepticism, irony, or rejection toward the meta-narratives and ideologies of modernism, often calling into question various assumptions of Enlightenment rationality. Consequently, common targets of postmodern critique include universalist notions of objective reality, morality, truth, human nature, reason, language, and social progress. Data collection uses reading and note-taking techniques. The triangulation used in this research is data triangulation. The data analysis method in this research uses content analysis and hermeneutics methods with elements of interpretation, description, and comparison. The results of this research indicate that al-Amidi's critical method has implication in postmodernist literary discourse on the objectivity aspect of simulation in the narrative of a character based on Jean Baudrillard's assumptions. That is, although postmodernist literature tends to subjectivity to the author, it does not completely forget the basic structure that builds a literary work through a very deconstructive process of meaning. Because in essence, postmodernism has never really been separated from modernism which tends to be objective. If al-Amidi is more inclined to criticism of poetry, then postmodernist literature is more visible in literary works in the form of prose, such as short stories and novels.</p>

Abstract:
The article polemicizes about the state of Russian Postmodernist culture in general and the country’s Postmodernist literature, in particular. The author finds that contemporary culture exists at the intersection of two paradigms: a dwindling Postmodernism and a nascent Metamodernism, giving rise to new literary vectors and phenomena. Mass culture appropriates Postmodernist methods and techniques: irony, intertextuality, and play-mode rethinking of classical subjects and ideas. The author observes a transformation of Postmodernism into an assembly line for mass production and consumption. At the same time, Metamodernism inevitably becomes an alternative cultural paradigm. Analyzing the cultural situation, the author references works by the writer V. Pelevin (his novels Generation P, iPhuck 10), rapper poet Oxxxymiron (M. Fyodorov), and other prominent figures of modern Russian culture. The article’s major focus is on Postmodernist irony.

Abstract:
<p>The current stage of culture development is usually defined as post-postmodern. Although this term is not well established and is interpreted differently, in any case it involves the overcoming of postmodernism. In Russian literature we should mention Victor Pelevin among the authors, whose works demonstrate the post-postmodernist tendencies most clearly. The evolution of his prose testifies that the postmodern worldview and the very mechanism of postmodern writing has become the subject of critical reflection in the late works of the writer. The novel by V. Pelevin "Empire V" (2006) is the material of the analysis in the article. The aim of the study is to reveal the nature and the forms of postmodernism reflection manifested in this work. During the analysis the authors established that Pelevin plays with a popular genre of mass culture - a novel about vampires, using it as a kind of metaphorical way to clarify the nature of postmodern literature, which appropriates, absorbs and exploits the forms, ideas and motives earlier developed in culture. Postmodernists, like vampires, borrow information from different sources and use "someone else's blood" for their own purposes. Combining the "languages" of mass and elite cultures, activating the intertextual links, Pelevin eventually pursues antipostomodernist goals: he reveals the totality of the simulativity, proves that mass culture is ready to absorb postmodernism, and turn it into an empty signifier. This can be defined as a kind of cultural reflection, as a form of the self-reflection and writer’s cognition on the state of modern culture.</p>

Abstract:
The article considers the development of the postmodernism in Kazakh, Russian, and French literature. The research is based on M. Epstein’s theory about the formation of the direction of post-Soviet postmodernism. The theoretical basis of the study was considered in the light of the opinions of such researchers as N. Kuchina, S. Sheyanova, Ye. Zinurova, M. Gontar, A. Maulenov, S. Takirov, S. Altybayeva, N.Syzdykbayev, D. Kaliakbar, B. Syzdykova, A. Kairbekova, B. Orazova. The practical significance of the article is determined within the framework of studying the direction of postmodernism in modern Kazakh literature. The means of the direction of postmodernism which have social, philosophical significance, were considered through the phenomenon of intertext. The main means of the phenomenon of intertextuality are the transfer of methods of simulacrum, reminiscence and postmodernism through mythical plots. The stories “Konyrkaz (Grey goose)”, “Tyrnak (Claw)”, “Yesim (Name)”, “Kosmos (Space)” by A. Kemelbayeva, who contributed to the development of postmodernism in Kazakh literature, are analyzed. The techniques of flexible postmodernism dictate the writer's ability to portray society. The paper describes the role as a national code and highlights the ethnographic character while examining issues with folk understanding, national knowledge, and legendary beliefs in the stories of A. Kemelbayeva from the perspective of intertextuality. The author’s use of mythological knowledge in her novels is examined within the context of contemporary postmodern literature and the neomiphologism dilemma. Postmodernism’s foundational concepts of mythical cognition and understanding are portrayed in a nostalgic, retrospective light, taking into account the unique characteristics of the narrative form. The article’s fundamental thesis is that the theory of the hybrid genre in the contemporary narrative system, transformation, is based on the field of neomyphologism.

Abstract:
Abstract Contemporary developments in fiction have so far primarily been interpreted as an attempt to move beyond postmodernism toward a renewed sense of realism and communication. This article suggests an alternative conceptualization and puts forward the hypothesis that contemporary fiction marks a shift toward an affective dominant. In Postmodernist Fiction (1987) Brian McHale defines the dominant as a structure that brings order and hierarchy in a diversity of techniques and motifs in a literary text. Whereas in modernism the dominant is epistemological and in postmodernism it is ontological, in contemporary literature we contend this dominant is affective. The prevailing questions are “How can I feel reality (myself, the other, the past, the present, etc.)?”; “How can I feel to belong to reality?”; and “How can I feel reality to be real?” This affective dominant manifests itself in motifs such as desire, attachment, fantasy, and identification. Formal and narrative devices that in modernist or postmodernist fiction contributed to an epistemological or ontological dominant tend to foreground questions of affectivity in contemporary fiction. Through the analysis of novels by Ben Lerner, Alejandro Zambra, and Zadie Smith this article substantiates this hypothesis. This approach allows us to study contemporary fiction both diachronically, in relation to postmodernism, and synchronically, in relation to its social and ideological context.

Abstract:
The validity of the operative model of legal interpretation in the face of postmodernismDue to postmodernist philosophy is becoming summary increasingly popular this article concerns the validity of a legal interpretation model commonly used in modern times with regard to the postmodernist point of view. Although this problem is widely described in Western literature, in Poland, on the contrary, it is gaining popularity only among philosophers of law. The aim of the article is to present the critical approach of postmodernist philosophy to existing order and demonstrate its attitude towards interpretation of the law. It should be noted that postmodernism has no ambition of constructing its own model of legal interpretation, but comments on and reviews all that has been said on this issue in the legal theory and philosophy of law. This is due to the fact that postmodernism is hostile to all methodologies, modelling theories and theoretical constructions. On the other hand, based on the general assumptions of postmodern philosophy, a postmodern view on the interpretation of the law can be derived. The article discusses deconstructionism, hermeneutics and intertextuality as methods of creating the meaning of a legal text during interpretation, acceptable by postmodernism. The study also presents criticism of the assumption of rational legislator proposed by legal positivism. In this respect postmodernism makes a real revolution in the field of law enforcement, prioritizing the interpreter instead of the legislator, and the creation of a legal text meaning during the process of legal interpretation in place of meaning determination.

The researcher has selected the movie Tangled released in 2010 for this purpose, it is a remake of the famous fairy tale Rapunzel recorded by famous fairy tale writers, Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. One of the most prominent patterns of analyzing the movies through the lens of postmodernism is the framework by Kevin Paul Smith, in his book The Postmodern Fairytale, Folkloric Intertexts in Contemporary Fiction. He has presented eight elements of intertextuality to examine the intertextual elements of the older fairy tales present in contemporary literature (2007). Analysis reveals these eight elements in Tangled (2010) that are evident in traces of postmodernity in the movie.

The recent theory of a return of realism has sparked a lively and somewhat heated debate among contemporary italian thinkers, generating a split between the supporters of the philosophy of weak thought, and those who argue for an overcoming of postmodernism and the development of a new philosophy of realism. This article explores Umberto Eco’s contribution to this debate, focusing both on Eco’s theory of “negative realism” and on his latest historiographic metafiction. I argue that while Eco’s recent theory further distances the author from the philosophy of weak thought, it does not call, as does Maurizio Ferraris’s philosophy of new realism, for an overcoming of postmodernism. Instead, following the outward shift that is typical of late postmodern impegno, Eco’s later work creates a critical idiom that more clearly uses postmodernist self-awareness as a strategy to promote self-empowerment and social emancipation.

Abstract:
While postmodern theory has been explored within multiple domains, its application to the domain of public relations is somewhat scant. As a result, constructs, such as power, crisis communication, and code of ethics within the communication profession in the firm require further examination. This study investigates the current postmodernist perspective within organization theory and expands the body of knowledge on postmodernism and public relations through the application of seminal audit literature analysis.

Abstract:
This paper examines the presence of profound irrationalism in Harold Pinter's play, The Birthday Party, through the lens of postmodernism. The analysis draws on postmodernist theories of language, meaning, and power, to explore the ways in which the play reflects and critiques the socio-political context of the postmodern era. The paper argues that the play is an important work of postmodern literature that embodies the postmodern critique of rationality, reason, and truth.

Abstract:
Postmodernism is a complex and multifaceted trend in the literature of the second half of the twentieth century. In the process of studying it, students of philology encounter difficulties both in understanding the theoretical base and in applying theoretical knowledge in the analysis of a literary text. The material of the article suggests the stages of work on the study of literary postmodernism, indicates the principles of selection of theoretical concepts, clearly demonstrates information that is significant for understanding the essence of the phenomenon in diagrams. Numerous scientific works present different points of view on the time of the emergence of postmodernism, the nature of its relationship with the previous literary tradition, immerse the consciousness of students in the world of extensive terminology, in which it is difficult for students to see the components necessary for analyzing a postmodern work. By virtue of this, it becomes important to highlight the features characteristic of postmodernism that can represent the uniqueness of the phenomenon under study, establish its place in the system of development of foreign literature, and determine the elements of postmodern aesthetics. The research is associated with the task of deepening students’ skills in analyzing and interpreting a literary text based on a hermeneutic approach. As a result of the work carried out in the course of the practical lesson, the skills of the systemic and holistic perception of the literary process, acquired by the students during the study of the course “History of Foreign Literature”, are consolidated.

Abstract:
The Biblical and Deuterocanonical Wisdom books have a great deal to contribute to contemporary higher education, which has been affected adversely by the secularization of the past centuries, most recently by postmodernism. This essay traces the development of the Wisdom literature from Proverbs to the Gospel of John and its implications for higher education in five areas: the integrative; ethical; personal; enjoyable; and transformational aspects of learning Higher education rooted in the Wisdom literature is uniquely capable of addressing each of these issues in a way that education cut off from traditional values cannot. Practical suggestions address such concerns as general education courses, classroom cheating and ethical and professional responsibilities of faculty. For example, some general education courses should be required of senior students in order to integrate courses that they have already completed. The conclusion follows that a balanced practice of the five areas can serve as an antidote to the ills of higher education without degenerating into the repressive educational environment feared by postmodernists.

Abstract:
This article addresses a simple question: Is Beckett a postmodernist writer? Of course, the question is not so simple at all, for it begs a number of other tricky questions that get only more complicated as we address them: How am I defining modernism and postmodernism? What does the post in postmodernism signify? And in any case, Beckett's work does not suffer from not fitting easily into either of these categories or periodizations, so who really cares? Yet all the same, it seems that if postmodernism has any analytical value as a category, a style, or a "cultural dominant" applied to literature (in Fredric Jameson's appropriation of Raymond Williams's term), then Beckett is a crucial test case: He follows perhaps the most exemplary of prose modernists, James Joyce, and produces a body of work which is very much unlike that of his famous predecessor and compatriot/co-exile, as well as that of the subject of his youthful scholarly interest (another quintessential prose modernist), Marcel Proust. Beckett clearly, and not just temporally, comes after these modernists and their moment. His defining war is the Second, not the First. His childhood was not that of the fin-de-si?cle; his abandoned homeland was the Republic of Ireland; his exile was so famously marked by the change of language in order to achieve what he called "the right weakening effect" [2] in a clear attempt to escape the style of Joyce in the language of Proust, and thus attain a style all his own. If post simply means after, then Beckett is perhaps the first great postmodernist. But we all know it is not so simple.

Abstract:
The Yoruba pristine orality in its entirety has been given new directions with the popularity of the postmodernist tenets as shown in the utilitarian use of the new media in literary production, dissemination and consumption. This paper seeks to examine how the postmodernist material and immaterial culture have influenced the literary and cultural values of Yoruba folktales. Data for this study are gathered through field investigations at Omi Adio, Aba Ebu ( Moniya) and Badeku, all in Oyo State, Nigeria. Archival documents on the subject matter are also consulted. It is observed that apart from affecting the physical and cultural landscapes of Africa, postmodernism/new media has also affected the literary landscape of the continent. It is concluded that Africa has not effectively utilized the resources of new media to promote the vitality of folktales. It is recommended that the teaching of Oral Literature should be made compulsory in the curricula of primary and secondary schools in Nigeria.

Abstract:
Objective: The emergence of postmodernism as a continuation and correction of the shortcomings of modernism is expected to provide new alternatives and complement the repertoire of human thinking, especially about the existence of language and culture. Although, in principle, all paradigms of thinking have their own advantages and disadvantages. This paper aims to examine the issues surrounding the postmodernism paradigm, which is focused on two main things, namely: the concept and basic principles of the paradigm and the view of the postmodern paradigm in relation to the existence of language phenomena. Method: Methodologically, this article is based on a literature study, which is conducted by identifying various theories related to postmodernism, to answer the problems that have been raised. Results and Discussion: From the results of this study, the following conclusions can be drawn. Firstly, the postmodernism paradigm is an approach to philosophy, art and culture that emerged as a response to the ideas and values of modernism that were dominant in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Postmodernism rejects the idea that there is a single narrative or truth that can explain the world, and instead, emphasizes the diversity, complexity and relative nature of everything. Second, in the context of its view on language, postmodernism offers several perspectives, among which the key ones are openness to the plurality of languages, the destruction of the concept of binaries and oppositions, the importance of meta-narrative, and intertextuality. Postmodernism is present to provide an alternative to new ways of thinking in knowledge, especially by prioritizing the principle of respecting differences in plural particularities, as a counter to the thesis of modernism which believes in the importance of the principle of uniformity and universality. Research Implications: Studying the postmodernist paradigm and its views on language can open insight into the complexity and dynamics of language in various contexts. This influences how we understand the world, interact with others, and organize our knowledge. Originality/Value: The value and originality of the study of postmodernism and language paradigms lies in its ability to raise new questions, provoke critical thinking, and open space for new developments in various disciplines and cultural practices.

Abstract:
The transition from a hierarchy-based approach to therapy, in which the counselor is seen as an objective observer of the client's life; to an egalitarian counselor-client relationship-based therapy approach, which holds the client in their strengths, focuses on what the solution is, and sees the client as an expert, is a radical paradigm shift in the field of psychology. The background of this change in psychology's perspective, based on the questioning of modernism's belief that truth, knowledge and reality are universal and valid beyond all times and places. These inquiries have given birth to the postmodernist paradigm, which argues that knowledge and truth are multiple, complex and relative, that knowledge is interpreted and constructed between people. Postmodernism, which has effects in many fields such as art, architecture, cinema and literature; has led to radical changes psychology’s view on human nature, the counselor-client relationship and the therapy process. This study aims to examine modernism and postmodernism from a historical perspective, and then to discuss the reflections of postmodernism on the field of psychology. In order to achieve this aim, first of all, the emergence of modernism, its epistemology, its basic assumptions and the reflections of modernism on psychology are discussed. Afterwards, the social and epistemological changes which occured in the transition from modernism to postmodernism were examined. After examining the epistemology and assumptions of postmodernism in comparison with modernism; the general characteristics of postmodern therapies and their perspective on human nature, therapy process and counselor-client relationship are discussed. The study further provides recommendation for future directions inTurkish counseling and therapy contetxs.
