Abstract:
WITH THE DECLINE of a modernist techno-rationalist view of knowledge, teachers are no longer knowledge dispensers but dialogue facilitators who reject the notion of one ‘right’ view. Although postmodernism comes in a variety of forms e.g constructivism, it does have some central features. There are both strengths and weaknesses in the postmodernist approach to life and in the way it applies to education. Christian teacher education programmes should be transformative, vital and transcendent, based in a vision of humanity which rejects both the oppressive impotence of modem scientism and the ego-exalting autonomy of postmodernity.

Abstract:
One of the most important elements of postmodernity is the growing awareness of the diversity and potential incommensurability of the various forms of cultural life that sustain groups and individuals and addresses the postmodernist denial that postmodernism is inherently apathetic or hostile to social or political action. Postmodernism is a reaction to the epistemological ideals of modernity. Postmodernism is based on a limited human point of view, and thus becomes a prisoner of its own subjectivity, resulting in two main characteristics, namely pluralism and relativism. This study analyzes the postmodern view that is implemented in Christian education in Indonesia. The method used in this article is a literature study by using philosophical biblical glasses to analyze postmodern views. The result is that postmodern moral education (such as transcendentalism and idealism) has some useful and some negative aspects that should be considered for planning moral education and curriculum development for Christian education in Indonesia. Satu elemen paling penting dari postmodernitas adalah tumbuhnya kesadaran akan keragaman dan potensi ketidakterbandingan dari berbagai bentuk kehidupan budaya yang menopang kelompok dan individu dan membahas penolakan postmodernis bahwa postmodernisme secara inheren apatis atau bermusuhan dengan tindakan sosial atau politik. Postmodernisme merupakan reaksi terhadap cita-cita epistemologis modernitas. Postmodernisme didasarkan pada sudut pandang manusia yang terbatas, dan dengan demikian menjadi tawanan subyektivitasnya sendiri, menghasilkan dua karakteristik utama, yaitu pluralisme dan relativisme. Kajian ini menganalisis pandangan postmodern yang diimplementasikan pada pendidikan Kristen di Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan pada artikel ini adalah studi literatur dengan memanfaat kacamata biblis filosofis untuk menganalisa pandangan postmodern. Hasilnya adalah pendidikan moral postmodern (seperti transendentalisme dan idealisme) memiliki beberapa aspek yang berguna dan beberapa negatif yang harus dipertimbangkan untuk perencanaan pendidikan moral dan pengembangan kurikulum pendidikan Kristen di Indonesia.

Abstract:
The present study focuses on one of the contemporary American fairy tale movies to analyze the postmodernist aspects present in these movies. The researcher has selected the movie Tangled released in 2010 for this purpose, it is a remake of the famous fairy tale Rapunzel recorded by famous fairy tale writers, Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. One of the most prominent patterns of analyzing the movies through the lens of postmodernism is the framework by Kevin Paul Smith, in his book The Postmodern Fairytale, Folkloric Intertexts in Contemporary Fiction. He has presented eight elements of intertextuality to examine the intertextual elements of the older fairy tales present in contemporary literature (2007). Analysis reveals these eight elements in Tangled (2010) that are evident in traces of postmodernity in the movie.

Abstract:
This article is an attempt to investigate the various meanings of the words "postmodernity", "postmodernism" and "postmodern". ft also assesses the significance of these words and of the concepts that they express for criminology. The paper is divided in three parts. The first part tries to dispell important misunderstandings that have sprung in relation to postmodernism. The most significant of these is the belief that there is such a thing as a postmodernist "method" in the social sciences. The second part identifies the origin of the term "postmodern" and discusses various themes which are perceived to be characteristic of postmodern thought. These themes are: the present legitimation crisis, the internal reflexivity of scientific theory, discourse analysis and meta-language, social and cultural fragmentation and historical pessimism. The last part draws the consequences of the preceding analyses for the development of criminology.

Abstract:
This dissertation deals with the concepts glasnost and perestroika during the Gorbachev era 1985–1991. It offers an explanation to the rise and fall of these concepts and casts light on their modern and postmodern implications, as well as their historical and generational preconditions. In light of the Soviet and Russian conceptual history, Gorbachev’s articulation of glasnost and perestroika is contrasted with the reception of these concepts in what at that time came to be called Russian postmodernism. Glasnost and perestroika both confirm and transcend Soviet modernity. They are both future-oriented but at the same time possess retrospective anchorage. The present study reconstructs the experience encapsulated in the concepts, the expectations they unleashed and the tensions they triggered. The Gorbachev era signaled a rupture in the temporal order of modernity. During this time Soviet modernity lost confidence in its self. With glasnost and perestroika a suppressed past opened up which blocked the futurist potential inherent in the present. The concept-theoretical perspective assumed in the dissertation helps explain essential aspects of the dramatic turn of events. Postmodernism’s relationship to the concepts is mainly antagonistic. At the same time glasnost and perestroika were essential to the self-identity creating process of postmodernism and its development of an understanding of a specific late Soviet postmodern situation. Beneath the surface a conflict evolves, constituted in intergenerational terms. The vast differences in deployment of the two key notions appear related to generation specific historical experiences. This is apparent in the glasnost- and perestroika discussions of the 19th and 20th centuries. In several respects the 20th century discourse reflects that of the 19th century. The analysis in the present dissertation demonstrates how Gorbachev, on the basis of his generation-specific experience as a man of the 1960s actively sought to articulate an alternative reconstruction (perestroika) and did so with a distinct ideological accent. The postmodernists, the last Soviet generation, bore the imprint of the stagnation of the Brezhnev era and had no ideal past to resuscitate. Instead of reconstructing social reality they tried to place themselves outside it. This apolitical stance however embodied both anti-political and political implications.

Abstract:

PURPOSE: To find out how identity creating and community utter within the Black Metal culture, to get an insight of why people are drawn to Black Metal, and what function it fills to the adherents/practicians.

METHOD: Analyses of interviews done by the authors. In addition to them literature, mainly in book form, is used for theories.

RESULT: We have seen that there are shared Black Metal values, despite a strong individualism within the culture. And death is important for the survival of the culture and the individuals.


SYFTE: Att ta reda på hur identitetsskapande och gemenskap yttrar sig inom black metal-kulturen, att få en inblick i varför folk dras till black metal, samt vad det fyller för funktion för anhängarna/utövarna.

METOD: Analyser av intervjuer gjorda av författarna. Utöver dem nyttjas litteratur, främst i bokform, för teorier.

RESULTAT: Vi har sett att det finns black metal-gemenskaper, trots en stark individualism inom kulturen. Och döden är viktig för kulturens och individernas överlevnad.

Studien syftar till att undersöka konsumentens roll för en hållbar utveckling genom att analysera hur fyra organisationer som arbetar för hållbar livsmedelskonsumtion konstruerar hållbarhet och konsumenten. Organisationerna representerar olika intressen och empirin består av officiella kommunikationsdokument samt intervjuer. Empirin analyseras i relation till postmodernitetens individualisering som beskriver hur individer, genom kommunikation om miljörisker och ohållbarhet åläggs ta ansvar för en hållbar samhällsutveckling. Analysen visar att hållbarhetsbegreppet ständigt omformuleras vilket leder till ambivalens hos konsumenten, och vikten av politiska åtgärder för hållbar konsumtion framhålls av organisationerna med politisk inriktning. Tre konstruktioner av konsumenten uttrycks. Samtliga organisationer konstruerar i en officiell diskurs en hållbar konsument som med hjälp av kunskap tar ansvar genom aktiva livsmedelsval. I en vardagsdiskurs konstrueras konsumenten som förvirrad av budskapen om hållbara livsmedelsval och sägs behöva hjälp genom förenklad kunskap. En tredje konstruktion av en mindre hållbarhetsintresserad konsument uttrycks av de två mest marknadsorienterade organisationerna, som istället vill sälja hållbarhet till ”vanliga” konsumenter med positiva budskap om lust och egennytta. Diskursanalysen synliggör att konstruktioner av konsumenten är kopplade till specifika kontexter. Officiell kommunikation som konstruerar en hållbar konsument nyanseras och ger ny medvetenhet om mindre kommunikativa konstruktioner av konsumenter med begränsad potential till ansvarstagande för hållbar utveckling.

Skolan är ett ämne som återkommande diskuteras och debatteras och denna studie har som syfte att analysera och jämföra dagens diskurser om skolan, så som de kommer till uttryck på Aftonbladets och Dagens Nyheters ledarsidor. Studien fokuserar på vilka särdrag som går att finna på tidningarnas ledarsidor om skolan men också hur funna diskurser kan förstås ur ett kritiskt utbildningsteoretiskt perspektiv. Insamlat material analyseras med hjälp av Faircloughs kritiska diskursanalys och resultatet ställs i en teoretisk analys mot studiens valda teori, som behandlar skolan i det postmoderna samhället. Det resultat som går att finna består av likheter men också skillnader i hur de olika tidningarna skriver ut och kommunicerar bilden av skolan på sina ledarsidor. Den reglerade skolan med ett fåtal aktörer framställs som den goda skolan av Aftonbladet medan Dagens Nyheter framhäver det fria valets skola med ökande krav på kontroll. Det går i diskurserna om skolan att finna diskursiva mönster som till stor del är gemensamma för båda tidningarnas ledarsidor. I diskurserna synliggörs återkommande ett nyttotänkande och vad som främst fokuseras i tidningarnas ledare är inte utvecklingen av ett mer demokratiskt samhälle utan istället ett mer konkurrenskraftigt samhälle. Med detta följer synen på skolan som förmedlare av nyttiga, och mätbara, kunskaper som kan leda till ekonomisk vinning. Den svenska skolan anses inte kunna leva upp till detta och de båda tidningarna enas om att den svenska skolan är i kris, den kanske till och med befinner sig i fritt fall.

SAMMANFATTNING

Identitetsfrågan har fascinerat och intresserat människan sedan länge. Den vetenskapliga forskningen har genom årtionden på olika sätt närmat sig den mänskliga identiteten. I vår uppsats har vi, med utgångspunkt i sociologisk och pedagogisk filosofisk forskning, konstruerat två skilda perspektiv av hur man kan se på människan och hur hon fungerar. Inom dem ryms tolkningar om vilka vi är och varför vi är som vi är. Enligt det ena perspektivet, det moderna, har människan en fast identitet som kan utvecklas och mogna. Enligt det andra, det postmoderna, är människans identitet flexibel och rörlig, utan en beständig kärna.

Vårt syfte har varit att undersöka talet om identitet i den rådande läroplanen för de frivilliga skolformerna: Lgy 70 (som började gälla 1971) och Lpf 94 (sedan 1994 rådande läroplan). Vi gjorde det genom att ställa oss följande tre frågor: Vilka möjliga tal om identitet kommer till uttryck i Lpf 94 respektive i Lgy 70?, Hur förhåller sig läroplanernas tal om identitet till identitetsforskningen? och Vilka konsekvenser för eleverna, det vill säga för deras syn på sig själva, kan talet om identitet i de respektive läroplanerna ge?

Vår analys visade att det moderna talet om identitet dominerande i båda läroplanerna. Vidare kom också det postmoderna talet om identitet till uttryck, om än i mindre skala. Vår tolkning av läroplanerna är att talet om identitet som kommer till uttryck i Lgy 70 är mer i fas med sin samtid än vad det är i Lpf 94. Slutligen har vi diskuterat och givit förslag på vilka konsekvenser dessa tal om identitet kan få för elevernas självbilder, utan att ta ställning till vilket tal om identitet som är att föredra.

Målet med vår uppsats är att undersöka och analysera hur en individ presenterar sig på den virtuella arenan Facebook. Utifrån intervjuer och deltagande observation ska vi beskriva hur identitetsskapande uttrycks i förhållande till en social omgivning. Vidare ska vi visa hur värderingar och normer i samhället påverkar aktiviteter på Facebook. För att förklara detta utgår vi från valda delar av interaktionismen samt teorier om det postmoderna samhället. De begrepp vi använder oss av för att uppnå vårt syfte är roller och identiteter i anknytning till den virtuella världen samt att dessa formas och omformas i relation till ett socialt sammanhang. Vi har kommit fram till att Facebook är ett uttryck för det postmoderna samhället där identitetsskapandet är en process som sker beroende av omgivningen.

Denna studie behandlar kläder och mode som kommunikation och dess roll i individersidentitetsskapande. Frågor om såväl strukturer på makronivå som beslut på mikronivå löpersom en röd tråd genom studiens olika delar. För oss författare var det självklart att föratt förstå den ena nivån måste en också förstå den andra. Studiens syfte var att genom intervjueroch visuell etnografi undersöka lönearbetande 25-30 åringars identitetsskapande,specifikt hur de kommunicerar sin identitet genom konsumtion av kläder och mode. Föratt utforska vårt syfte har vi genomfört och analyserat åtta kvalitativa intervjuer. I researchochanalysarbete filtreras resultaten genom teorier om postmodernitet, sociala fält och konsumism.Därtill redogör vi för tidigare forskning inom ämnet. Studien visar att individer,modeintresserade eller ej, är högst medvetna om vad deras kläder kommunicerar i olikakontexter. Samhället tycks genomsyras av de klädkoder som, till största del, konstitueras påmakronivå.
This study treats clothes and fashion as communication and its role in individual's identity.Questions about structures on a macro level as well as decisions on a micro level is thetheme for all the parts of the study. To understand one level, you have to understand theother. The purpose for this study was, through interviews and visual ethnography studywage earning Swedes between 25 to 30 years old in their creation of identity, specificallyhow they communicate their identity through consumption of clothes and fashion. To exploreour purpose, we have conducted and analysed eight qualitative interviews. In the researchand analysing work the results have been understood through theories concerningpostmodernism, field, habitus and consumerism. We also describe and connect the resultswith previous research. The study shows that individuals, interested in fashion or not, arehighly conscious about what their clothes communicate in different contexts. Society seemsto be permeated with codes of clothing constituted on a macro level.

Arbetet syftar till att studera hur den svenska gymnasiekolans läroplaner förändrats över tid i sin syn på eleven, dess lärande och vad målet för dess lärande är. Till de senaste tre läroplanerna för gymnasiet adderas de två statliga utredningar. Beställda av den borgerliga alliansregeringen 2006 och den socialdemokratiska föregående regeringen. Vilket ger dels en mer aktuell bild av synen på en ny läroplan, men även ger en bild av den kommande nya läroplanen för gymnasieskolan. För att sätta denna förändring i en kontext matchas materialet till teorier om det moderna samhällets övergång till det postmoderna, samt förändringen av synen på kunskap och lärande denna övergång medför. Arbetet visar på en stor överensstämmelse mellan de studerade dokumenten och teoretikernas beskrivning av förändringen. Tydliga utvecklingslinjer kan följas angående den omvärldsbeskrivning samt syn på individ, lärande och kunskap som dokumenten ger uttryck för. Dock utgör den av ga alliansen beställda utredningen ett undantag. Då den i fokus och utformning avsevärt skiljer sig från de övriga dokumenten, vilket försvårat analys och jämförelse. Gymnasieskolans läroplaner kan sammanfattningsvis sägas i hög grad ha följt med i förändringen, om än med viss tidsförskjutning.

Studiens huvudsyfte är att förstå hur sex studenter i mellansverige som lever i ettsamhälle av postmodern karaktär upplever sina identiteter samt på vilket sättsamhällstillståndet påverkar dem. Studien syftar även till att avgöra huruvida det gåratt finna empiriska belägg för Zygmunt Baumans (2002) teori kring att individen i detpostmoderna bryter upp livet i episoder för att lättare hantera skeenden i sitt liv.Studien bygger på kvalitativa semistrukturerade intervjuer med totalt sexrespondenter. Samtliga är studenter vid en högskola eller ett universitet imellansverige. Respondenterna är mellan 20 och 25 år gamla. Studiens huvudsakligaslutsats är att identiteten i det postmoderna uppfattas som en social symbol somanvänds för att kommunicera individens Själv (Mead, 1977). Respondenterna istudien påverkas av samhällstillståndet, vilket kan komma att uppfattas som ennegativ konsekvens för dem om de inte klarar av att balansera sitt Själv medidentiteten gentemot samhällets krav på den enskilde individen.

Like several of her female peers, Marie Under (1883 - 1980) has been denied the international acclaim she deserves. The earliest text on Marie Under in swedish told of her greatness, but in classical fallic maner reduced her poetic production by marking it with pathological symtoms. Though latter texts by author Enel Melberg have put a feminist perspective on Unders work, the theoretical complexity of her poetic images and language, and its polemic relation to contemporary literary currents, has yet to be recognised. This study will seek to portrait Marie Under and her poetry in this new light.

The study moves from an installation of Marie Under in the modern discourse she so far has been estranged from, to an analysis of her earlier works (in the 1910’s and 1920’s). Lou Andreas-Salomés theory, characteristic of the period, will found Under’s debut in the discourse of Eros and the production of female subjectivity. Through the theory of Luce Irigaray I will try to see how this force towards a female subjectivity is inverted, to call into question the souvereignity of the (male) subject. That is, to see in the face of modernism not only the rise of female subjectivity but its relativization and multifaced constitution. Irigaray’s poststructuralistic theorizations leads to the postmodern philosophy/communication theory of Jean Baudrillard. With his hyperreal notion of imploded distances between subject and object, decomposition of causality and meaning I take on a search for a voice that surpasses the subject, a voice of simulacra in Marie Under’s poetry from early 20’s.

A significant portion of the study is engaged in Marie Under’s relationship to her mother tongue. Under wrote poetry in early years but not until her late teens in the language of her own country, estonian - mostly due to the russian occupation. From 1918, when independence was declared, estonian culture blossomed, and the estonian language was renewed. Marie Under’s poetry had a great deal in this linguistic regeneration, and I will sum up this poetic/linguistic practice in the chiasm: to seek language through poetry and the poetry in this language. This dialectic approach to Under’s poetry is an essential part of this study.

Cityspace has been the topic of urban and cultural studies for at least two decades and has opened a variety of ways to approach the city, from historical and cultural perspectives to socio-geographical, economic, religious, literary, postmodernist, post-colonial and, more recently, geo-critical ones. The article looks at the European and American city from the 1970s to the present through the lenses offered by the theoretical approaches by Edward Soja, David Harvey, Michel Foucault, Frederick Jameson, Bertrand Westphal, Manuel Castells, among others, while highlighting the specific characteristics of cityspace and citizenship, the use and misuse of living and imagined spaces in the period mentioned above. The shift from the modern city to the postmodern metropolis and global megalopolis has entailed essential changes in the views on cityspace both from the architectural perspective and from the city dweller’s perception of space in the city. How these changes have affected our lives and what the city of the future will look like are two core questions this article attempts to answer.

Abstract:
This essay will provide an introductory discussion of the historiography of the Bosnian genocide of 1992–1995 in the works of foreign scholars. The historiography is too large for this discussion to be exhaustive. We have attempted here to provide the principal categories of relevant works while citing the most important examples of them, before discussing the historiographical deficiencies and the tasks awaiting future scholars of the genocide. The reason for the dearth of monographs on the Bosnian genocide is that the subject is highly controversial, and any scholar who seriously studies it and expresses an opinion is likely to create enemies for themselves. There is a tendency of scholars to see the war in postmodernist terms, in terms of Serb, Croat and Bosniak “narratives”; as opposed to objective truth, which discourages taking the subject intellectually seriously. Furthermore, the prevailing ideology and discourse stemming from the international administration is one of reconciliation and putting the past behind us. So there is a disincentive to study the genocide in depth; a preference for studying more liberal feel-good themes related to reconciliation, memory, transitional justice and post-war reconstruction. The Bosnian genocide therefore awaits a new generation of foreign scholars to take it seriously as a subject and explore it in detail.

Abstract:
Globalization influences the transformation of cities, they develop changes in their composition and form, related mainly to socio-cultural and economic aspects that converge in some cases in a gentrification of spaces where the right to the city is altered, modifying its structure according To processes related to postmodernity and neoliberal policies that generate various negative changes such as the displacement of the original settlers and the deterioration of areas to the maximum to further intensify its value. However they also present positive signs such as the revitalization and improvement of spaces with new proposals that generate jobs or in some cases become places of fashion, or important tourist spots. It shows a contrast of two cities in different continent and conditions as it is the case of the city of Mexico in several points: the historical center, Polanco, Granada and the colony Rome. And in the city of Valencia in Spain: the historical center, Russafa, the Ensanche and the Cabanyal. The theme focuses on a central land dispute to recycle urban spaces that give rise to diverse public spaces of private character with commercial functions, modifying the resignification of the space, increasing the inequality and the differentiation but at the same time generating traces of similarity. The objective is to evaluate how they have modified housing, real estate market, surplus value, social practices and identity. Said analysis from a new vision with projection towards the future, by means of a complex model, analyzing the urban imaginary.
