Mental trauma is the effects of extremely frightening, terrifying, desperate, and often extraordinary and unexpected events. There are many events that cause distress and sadness in human life, but not all of them create psychological trauma. Earthquakes have been among the most devastating and frequently encountered disasters that humanity has faced throughout history. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is one of the most common mental illnesses after catastrophic trauma. There are many cross-sectional studies addressing the incidence of PTSD.
