F-18 FDG PET görüntüleme, primer kemik sarkomlarının evrelemesinde, tedavi yanıtının değerlendirilmesinde ve takip döneminde nüks hastalığın saptanmasında yaygın olarak kullanılmaktadır. Birçok kemik sarkomu yoğun FDG tutulumu gösterirken bazı kemik sarkomları (genellikle düşük grade’li olanlar) düşük düzeyli FDG tutulumu gösterir ve tümörün agresifliği ile FDG tutulumu arasında genellikle pozitif korelasyon vardır. FDG PET multipl myelom lezyonlarını göstermede yüksek duyarlılık ve özgüllüğe sahiptir. Diğer konvansiyonel yöntemlerden farklı olarak aktif miyelom lezyonlarını inaktif lezyonlardan ayırt edebilir, hastalık remisyonunu ve relapsını gösterebilir, ve ekstramedüller hastalığı görüntüleyebilir. Kemik metastazlarının gösterilmesinde FDG haricinde F-18 sodyum florür (NAF), Ga-68 veya F-18 işaretli PSMA, Ga68 işaretli oktreotid analogları, F-18 DOPA, F-18 floroöstrodiol (FES) gibi birçok farklı PET radyofarmasötiği de kullanılmaktadır
