Full textThe aim of this dissertation is to understand Chinese political system. This task is pursued trough the development of an interpretative schema based on the idea of power. This dissertation assumes the idea of power is functional in shaping the form of government and tries to analyze the evolution of Chinese political system via changes within the idea of power. Power is intended as power to govern and the idea of power is set trough six comparable items: sovereignty, exercise, objective, legitimacy, limit and border. This schema is then applied to China’s main political philosophy in order to trace continuities and discontinuities. Therefore Research questions are what the idea of power is and what its evolution was. Finally this dissertation analyzes outcomes from interpretative schema’s application to understand current political system. This dissertation focuses mainly on the element of pluralism, relation between the people and the exercise of the government and the state. This dissertation concentrates on the role of value pluralism in relation to the political system.
SILVESTRI, MAURO. "POTERE PUBBLICO E AUTOTUTELA AMMINISTRATIVA." Doctoral thesis, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, 2019. http://hdl.handle.net/10280/61787.
Full textThe thesis focuses on the Italian system of so called autoprotection or selfprotection. This expression refers to the powers of public administration to revoke its own acts when deemed necessary to repair a vice of legitimacy or a vice of opportunity, without being bind to resort to the courts. Given the aim of this powers – the same of first grade powers plus a semi-judicial one – they are usually meant by judges and scholars as “widely discretionary”. Furthermore, it has always been believed that the choice to activate the correspondent proceeding is totally free for public administration; consequently, a demand of interested parties does not make binding the start of the procedure, opposite to what happens with administrative appeal proceedings. In recent years ECJ, ECHR and national case law has emboldened the limits to selfredress, making clear that legitimate expectations and the public interest to legal certainty must be taken into consideration and given sufficient protection. Lately, also the Legislator followed, making the annulment and the revocation harder to be put in effect when the first act is favorable to the addressed subject. In such cases, the revocation cannot be ordered for a mere reconsideration of already known circumstances (ius poenitendi) but only if new ones show up. At the same time, ex officio annulment is precluded after 18 months from the issuing of the first act, instead of the previous general limit of a “reasonable time”. On the other hand, the case law has apparently pointed out some hypothesis of mandatory annulment, such as for “anticomunitarian acts” and cost-producing acts. Based on these two orientation, some scholars suggested a global rethinking of the self-protection, its bases and its rules. The study analyzes the case law and the latest legislative reforms, proving that no mandatory annulment exists in the Italian legal system. Therefore, nor the ECJ principle of equivalence nor other principles require that selfredress become generally obliged. The thesis also aims to prove that selfprotection remains a discretionary power, in order to ensure that the contrasting needs (the rule of law on the one hand, and the legal certainty and legitimate expectation on the other hand) can be properly balanced in every decision, according to the Constitutional provision of article 97, which requires that both impartiality and good administration are pursued.
MECHELLI, RAJSSA. "Effetti Distributivi del Potere di Mercato." Doctoral thesis, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, 2019. http://hdl.handle.net/10280/60174.
Full textThis work studies the interactions between market power, inequality, and welfare in a dynamic, general equilibrium framework. Doing so requires departing from two building blocks of the neoclassical general equilibrium model: the representative agent paradigm and perfect competition. The aim of the first chapter is to understand whether market power affects the distributions of wealth and income among households. Results suggest that a relatively simple extension of the Aiyagari model, namely oligopolistic competition with endogenous firms’ dynamics, is successful at reproducing the wealth and income distributions observed in the U.S. Additionally, an increase in concentration in the markets for final goods, due to an increase in entry costs, leads to a lower labor share and a higher profit share of income. These dynamics, in turn, imply higher income inequality. Importantly, these trends are broadly in line with those observed in the U.S. in the last thirty years. The second chapter extends the framework developed in chapter one to study the role of the dividend income tax as a redistributive tool. The analysis considers alternative redistribution regimes. The main finding is that a reduction of the dividend income tax rate, from the US Status Quo, is associated with a social welfare loss. A lower dividend income tax rate implies lower transfers to households. From a welfare point of view, this is particularly costly for poor households. Furthermore, a reduction in transfers forces households to save more for precautionary reasons. To do so, wealth poor households must sacrifice consumption. Given the high concentration of wealth, this implies that the majority of the population suffers a welfare loss.
Stefanelli, Silvia <1983>. "Il potere normativo delle Corti sul processo." Doctoral thesis, Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna, 2013. http://amsdottorato.unibo.it/6010/.
Full textThe thesis aims to reflect on the power of the courts to provide normatively on some aspects of the proceedings that take place before them, thus replacing the legislator. The investigation plan of the thesis is developed considering the European situation before the courts of Luxembourg, through continuous references to cases law. The candidate focuses, firstly, defining, in general terms, origin and application of so-called soft law acts in Europe and focusing on the role of jurisprudence in the European system. In the first chapter, a hint is dedicated to the Italian overview, in the light of recent reforms of civil proceedings and with particular reference to the phenomenon of so-called “protocols”. The thesis is then developed in three other chapters, in which the candidate analyzes three examples of the manifestation of normative power of the European Courts on the proceedings. The candidate examines the "Practice Directions to parties": identifying the provisions contained in the light of cases law, in order to define the real effectiveness of these acts and their binding against parties’ representatives. The third chapter is about preliminary ruling procedure between soft law (so-called “Recommendation to national courts and tribunals in relation to the initiation of preliminary ruling proceedings) and jurisprudence. In the end, the candidate plays the latest reflections on "exceptional" power of the Court of Justice of the European Union to limit the temporal effects of its interpretative judgments. Power which, in this case, is manifested not through the enactment of soft law acts, but through its case law.
Passerini, Davide. "Gli Angiò-Durazzo : la rappresentazione del potere." Thesis, Avignon, 2020. http://www.theses.fr/2020AVIG1204.
Full textThe doctoral thesis analyses the Anjou-Durazzo dynasty, in particular from the point of view of the construction of the legitimation of power and consensus around the sovereign. The perspective selected depends on awareness of the urgency of issues relating to legitimation and consensus, considering that today the economic crisis, migration and a pandemic are exhausting governments and national and supranational institutions in the West. The problem of legitimation and consensus as the founding elements of power was present also in the Middle Ages. The central point of the thesis is the understanding of the political and symbolic instruments used by the Anjou-Durazzo in order to give a basis for their domination."Writing" was the first field of study considered. I focused on the analysis of documentary production from the Chancellery of Anjou-Durazzo. I did a serial investigation of the acts of, in particular on the preamble or arenga, considered to be the rhetorical part of the document. My hypothesis was that in their recursion they contributed to composing the ideal portrait of the princeps.I analysed other themes, that is to say royal ceremonies, monarchical knightly orders and heraldry. Among the monarchical rituals I have taken into consideration especially the coronations and funerals, which were fundamental events during the life of a kingdom in which many people participated, and where therefore the symbolic communication had a potentially wider effect to manifest the perenniality of royalty. Among the first acts of the dynasty there was also the foundation of a chivalric order that brought with it not only a ceremoniality restricted only to the group of members, but also constituted a reference point immediately recognizable through clothing. This attention to the communicative value of belonging to a circle is the same that is found in heraldry. In the Durazzo period, an innovative use of blazons and coats of arms was found on the facades of noble residences, where the presence of lilies and the tripartite coat of arms of Hungary, France and Jerusalem served to demonstrate loyalty to the Durazzo dynasty. The commissioning of the Durazzo also refers to symbolic communication. However, I did not limit myself to reviewing the works commissioned by the dynasty, but I wanted to link them to the analysis of the devotional choices of this Angevin branch, on which above all the location of their tombs illuminates us, extending the research to the whole history of the Durazzo. The thesis also took into consideration the structures of power that could transmit and implement royal orders in the territory, trying to reconstruct some reforms, implemented or attempted, in the belief that even the "bureaucracy" could contribute in giving a representation of the Durazzo power, given that changes in the organization and practices of the royal administration had consequences in the institutional balance. This analysis is preceded by a historical profile that offers an in-depth analysis of some key events in the events of the dynasty. From this thesis it emerges how the Durazzo desperately chased a legitimacy and a consensus that stabilized their power. Documents, ceremonies, chivalric orders, heraldry, tombs, foundations of churches and commissions, all contributed to contrasting the instability that hit the continental Mezzogiorno starting from the Great Schism. Ultimately, the project of Durazzo failed due to the absence of a biological heir, and Giovanna II, the last ruler of the dynasty, ended up involved in the war of the Two Hundred Years between the Angevins and the Aragonese. 11-05-2020
MARIANI, PAOLA. "IL POTERE DI VIGILANZA E CONTROLLO DATORIALE." Doctoral thesis, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, 2017. http://hdl.handle.net/10280/18750.
Full textThe scope of the PhD thesis is the analysis of the provisions of Law no. 300/1970 (the Workers’ Statute) governing the exercise of the employer’s power of supervising and monitoring the working activity, in the light with the numerous courts’ decisions and scholars views and interpretations (issued for the purposes of providing an evolutive interpretation of these provisions, so to balance the ratio behind them and the working environment which is constantly changing), and also in the light with the recent legislative changes implemented in 2015 and 2016. After having briefly analysed the source of this employer’s power (i.e., the Italian Civil Code), the thesis would highlight the legislative and interpretative processes which have involved the employer’s power of supervising and monitoring the working activity, starting from the Italian Civil Code to the Workers’ Statute. Then, there will be the analysis of the specific provisions regulating the human control (or non technological control) – thus articles 2, 3 and 6 of the Workers’Statute – by the employer. An extensive analysis of art. 4 of the Workers’Statute (which the provision governing the mechanical control (or control via technological equipments) carried out by the employer, which has been subject to review by Legislative Decree no. 151/2015 (and also, subsequently, by Legislative Decree no. 185/2016).

Full textThe thesis deals with the generational shift in family enterprises constituted as a limited liability company, assessing the impact on the discipline of the administration. It notes that traditional mechanisms based solely on the transfer of shares can not reconcile the needs of business continuity and the rules of inheritance law. Then, are identified rules that ensure the stability of the administration even after the changes to the shareholding structure resulting from the entrance of the heirs. The study refers, on the one hand, in the conventional rules which ensure the permanence of the administrator in charge; on the other, to clauses in order to curb the interference of new members on the choices of governance. It shows, finally, the legitimacy of a statutory provision requiring the automatic succession of a beneficiary in the position of director.

Full textThe thesis concerns collective redundancies and focuses on the limits that the law and the collective bargaining put to the employer's powers, with specific regard to employer's discretionary during the redundancy procedure, in order to verify whether the law 92/2012 (known as Fornero Reform), affected the judge's control and the trade union. In the first chapter we can find the reasons investigating if the judgemental control over the substantive fairness of collective dismissals, which was already due following the law n. 223/1991, still remains essential in the Fornero reform. In the second chapter it is clarified why, although the reform seems to enhance the role of the trade union in the procedure, in fact it reduces the possibilities of collective bargaining and, as a consequence it weakens the trade union control. The third and last chapter analyzes the most relevant aspects of the criteria to select employees for redundancy from both sides either either judicial and from the trade union side. In the end it is considered that only though a double vision, judicial and union, it is possible to grant a fair protection to the workers as planned from the legislator of 1991.
Roncaglia, Alessandro <1983>. "Giochi di famiglia: dinamiche di potere tra Augusto e Tiberio." Doctoral thesis, Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna, 2015. http://amsdottorato.unibo.it/7133/.
Full textThe long process that would have ultimately led Ottavian to power, thus founding the principate, is marked by several characters and key moments, all along his path. Even before facing the battlefield, Caesar’s adopted son managed to climb to the top ranks of the state, thanks to his great ability in forging alliances and personal relationships, and to the mastery through which he was able to transform himself from revolutionary leader to member (and a representative one) of the traditional aristocracy. This did not develop through an easy and linear track, and the most difficult task was not – very likely – defeating his opponents at Actium, but rather keeping hold of a power that was being constantly contested. Well after 31 b.C., in more than one occasion, Augustus had to defend his new creation (the principate) and tweak time after time its foundations and structure: it was only through this capital, meticulous, and hidden work that he succeeded in building the basis for an institution that would carry on almost unchanged for about one century, to say the least. On these grounds, the present research is organised following a double chronological criterion, by placing – within the framework of the main events – a partition that takes into account further breaks and critical moments. The purpose is that of highlighting how, within a single reign, determined by the presence of one ruler, it is possible to distinguish the succession of different historical situations, balances of power, alliances and marriages through which various directions were decided, both in domestic and in foreign affairs.

Full textMy research aims to develop an original interpretation of the thought of Bertrand de Jouvenel, one of the most important liberal thinkers of the previous century. I intend to prove that Jouvenel has not only got to be considered a philosopher. The purely philosophical interpretation of his thought is due to the popularization of his two works, Du Pouvoir (1945) and De la Souveraineté (1955). He is known for having developed a historical and philosophical vision of power influenced by the political theory of Alexis de Tocqueville. Most of the critical literature on this author focuses on this conception. My dissertation aims to illustrate a more complete view of Jouvenel's thought. I want to analyse his misconceived works, such as The Pure Theory of Politics (1963).Jouvenel was long regarded as a liberal philosopher. This vision, however correct, is incomplete: Jouvenel was a friend and collaborator of Friedrich von Hayek, the most important liberal author of the 20th century. However, the Jouvenel of the 1940s and 1950s cannot be considered a liberal in its own right, because unlike Hayek, he was not a member of the Austrian School of Economics. Jouvenel developed a communitarian anti-statism, very close to the social doctrine of the Catholic Church. Individualism is not the solution against the power of the state. In order to prevent the State from gaining too much power, it is necessary to enhance the intermediary bodies of civil society, such as the family, associations, etc

Full textThe name of the tuscan physician Angelo Gatti has been closely linked to the practice and promotion of the inoculation for smallpox. Before Jenner discoveries about vaccine, this medical technique was the only way to prevent an endemic and deadly disease like smallpox. In the second half of the XVIIIth century the inoculation for smallpox became a discussed practice, able to involved in the debate not only the scientific community but also the social and political milieu. Gatti arrived in Paris in 1760 where he became famous thanks to his masterpieces: the Réflexions sur les préjugés qui s'opposent au progrès et à la perfection de l'inoculation (1764) and the Nouvelles réflexions sur la pratique de l'inoculation (1767). Coming from a modest and peripheral social background, Gatti was able to create an important network of relationships with many leading figures of the social, political and cultural milieu both in Italy and France which favoured his personal and professional success and led him to obtain relevant positions, more and more prestigious. The draft of my thesis has been conceived in order to follow Gatti's journey from the Grand Duchy of Tuscany under the Regency, passing by the France of the last years of King Louis XV, to continue through the Gatti's homecoming to Tuscany under the Grand Duke Peter Leopold to arrive at the Borbonian Court of Ferdinand IV and Mary Caroline in Naples. The biographical reconstruction has been led in order to assume an interdisciplinary study view, which allow to analyse the different contexts where Angelo Gatti played a leading role and finally to show how medecine and power can be linked one another

Full textThe thesis analyses Sidonius Apollinaris' Letters in order to shed light on his perception of the so-called 'Barbarians' during the period of transition from Roman imperial institutions to the Romano-barbarian Kingdoms. In the V century AD, due to imperial central administration's indifference to barbaric incursions and devastations, exponents of ancient senatorial nobilitas stood up for their communities by holding the episcopal seat; by so doing, senatorial bishops kept the authority which traditional political offices could not ensure anymore and defended the needs of their communities. Sidonius Apollinaris is the major symbol of this phenomenon. His letters, addressed to the main personalities of his time, depict a portrait of the social developments occurred in that period and of the approach of Gallo-Roman aristocracy towards the Barbarians; the armed resistance and the study of Roman literary and cultural heritage appear to Gallo-Roman aristocracy the only way to save the principle of identity, which lays under the label of Romanitas. The work determines which literary schemes Sidonius uses to interpretate his political and social environment; his letter collection is examined as a mirror of his time thanks to its literary dimension, not despite it, and the literary filter itself is seen as a primary source. This critical methodological approach has been adopted to answer to all research questions as far as 'Identity' and 'Otherness' are concerned, in order to give a definition of 'Barbarian' and 'Roman Citizen'

Full textThis thesis concerns the power of representation of the directors and the external relevance of the decisional process in italian companies. The Directive 2009/101/EC provides a system in which the legal limits can be invoked and the internal limits cannot be invoked with respect to third parties. From the subjective limitations allowed by the Directive is obtained "by subtraction" that European law provides a default rule, according to which every director has the power of representation separately. In domestic law, in the silence of the statute, the lack of an explicit rule determines the operation of the European default rule. The source of the power of representation has a legal nature, however the statute can determine subjective limitations that can be invoked with respect to third parties. Admitting the external relevance of legal limits on the powers of the directors and accepting the argument that in case of a board of directors the legal model provides that the decision-making power is dissociated from the power of representation, it is argued that the breach of the decisional process can be invoked if the company proves that the third party knew the lack of a legal condition of the process required by law or ignored it culpably.

Full textTribalism is an intrinsic character of Middle Eastern’s societies, as it contributes, together with Arab culture and Islamic religion, to shape their identity. In Iraq, since ever, tribalism constituted an organizational structure and a pattern of social relations, as well as dynamic of power’s exercise. Under the British Mandate and the Monarchy, politic manipulation of tribal’s culture and structures strengthened government’s legitimation; during the Republican period, as the Army emerged as main political driver and the influence of Modernity, tribalism transformed itself even if its presence into the society was still very strong. In the initial phase of Ba’thist’s regime, tribal culture was opposed, since it was considered as an obsolete heritage. But, facing the difficulties stemming from the war with Iran, the invasion of Kuwait and the embargo, the regime of Saddam Hussein exploited tribalism as a dynamic of power’s control, as well as propaganda and social bond. In the political void ensuing to the collapse of the regime, the tribes surfaced as “battlefield” between insurgency and Coalition’s Forces. American Surge and the tribes’ intervention in the Sahwa, as a reaction to jihadist’s bloodbath, avoided a sectarian civil war. Also al Maliki was able to exploit the tribal system. Nowadays, tribes are still an invaluable constituency for every political party, as well as diversified and a cross-parties political force.

Full textThe thesis presents some historical episodes concerning the Malagasy antemoro group from a privileged source: the Arabico-Malagasy manuscripts or sorabe from talily genre. The aim is to rediscover the historiographical and anthropological value of a native written tradition often confined to the margins of literature. Taking into consideration the functional details to understand antemoro social organization, and the introduction of writing in Madagascar and Arabico-Malagasy alphabet, three episodes are introduced: the settlement of antemoro ancestors on the banks of the lower Matitanana through the unpublished manuscript HB-6 ( Académie des Sciences d'Outre Mer) in the fifteenth century; the wars of the French general La Case (1659-1663) through the manuscripts published by Gallieni and 61.60.212 of the Musée de l'Homme; the use of writing by antemoro nobles in the merina court service (1790 ca.1828) through diplomatic documents written by the king Radama I (1810-1828) and his collaborators. The episodes are examined in depth thanks to the European archival records, oral traditions and ethnographic reports, to communicate the micro-history of sorabe texts with general historical processes, in the long term (XV-XIX century). This allows the highlighting of historiographical value of the manuscripts and the unique historical information contained therein. At the same time, the anthropological attention permits the pointing out of the social role of the Arabico-Malagasy writing: it has been used by antemoro noble groups as a connecting tool for past, present and future to create a memory aimed at keeping political and cultural dynamics in their favor

Full textThis dissertations deals with Daniel Bell’s political thought between the post-war era and the Seventies. During these years, Bell’s political reflection appears to be, to say it in the words of Jean-François Lyotard, a «grand narrative» of capitalism. Overall, Bell’s work is a sociological history of capitalism. It points out the height of fordism by assuming the end of ideology, and then sheds light on the post-industrial transformations, looking at the effects produced on power relations and the legitimacy of the socio-political system. In Bell’s view, capitalism is not only an economic system, but a complex social system which places individuals in the power structure by means of subordination and coordination. «What holds a society together?» is the question that go trough the whole trajectory of his reflection. It looks a sociological question, but actually it is a political question, because the order of society depends on the legitimacy of obligation relationships. The link between politics and sociology marks Bell’s thought and shows how social sciences are assumed to be the political theory of modernity: they analyze the political side of social relations as well as the social element inherent to the workings of political institutions. In other words, I look at the way in which Bell, «the sociologist of capitalism» as «The Economist» put it, distinguishes between social power and political power and then makes them interact. Focusing on Bell’s view of power I analyze the transformations occurred in the relationship between State and society in the US during the so-called Golden Age of Capitalism. Particularly, drawing the trajectory of this «grand narrative» of capitalism up to mid-seventies, I highlight that Bell recognizes the coming of a global age, full of political and social strains, and the need of a new institutional scale to cope with them.

Full textThis work is aimed to create an interdisciplinary study on the relationship between Milan and its polical regimes in the late Middle Ages. The starting point is the principle, widely used in historiography, that different systems of government produce space differently. The analysis of urban space thus obtained, however, can be improved using instruments from cultural geography. The city - one of the most important and complex topics in Western culture - is the meeting place of the natural history and cultural geography: it is the place where the story takes place, but more than just a stage. Milan is the perfect example of city: it has a history of the first order which turned into an urban structure of absolutely peculiar shape. Both internally and externally (for its ability to shape the territory, by acting on the natural and modeling it to suit your needs, reversing the logic of environmental determinism). Combining the tools of cultural geography with those of historical research, you get the opportunity to use the city itself and its representations as a document, supporting the analysis of historical events, the study of the symbolic value of such achievements.

Full textThis thesis develops around the activities and choices of Pietro Moscati and Giovanni Scopoli, respectively first and second General Director of Education, on the relentless activities of Michele Araldi as first secretary of the National Institute, as well as on the political and cultural ideas of Giovanni Paradisi, member of the Study Commission in 1802 and president of the Royal Institute in 1810. These people are analyzed in the context of the cultural organization created by the French Government during the years of the Republic and Kingdom of Italy (1802-1814), with a foreword on the first discussions about public education and cultural institutions in the three years of democracy (1796-1799). The relationship between power and culture is analyzed through the study of cultural officials of the time, who offer a new perspective on cultural policy in Napoleonic Italy. This thesis outlines the biography of those officials and their views on the reforms of Education, on schooling and on the funding of the arts and scientific progress. This research aims at revealing the actual people, their ideas of cultural policy and their role as mediators between the Napoleonic government and the Italian intelligentsia

Full textThe aim of this study was to investigate intercultural communication in a South African business setting. After initial observations at various companies, a Cape Town construction firm was chosen as the subject of study. It was hypothesised that the communication at the firm was successful. Successful communication includes various aspects: messages are communicated effectively and accurately, members of the company are made to feel secure, valued and motivated and there is no sense of discrimination or disrespect. Data was gathered (a) at meetings of the labour committee which represents the workers and (b) at site visits. All recordings but one were made using a tape-recorder with a large microphone designed for group recordings. The final meeting was video-recorded so that communicative cues such as eye gaze, facial expressions and gestures could be analysed. Data gathered was in English, Afrikaans and Xhosa with regular code-switching and mixing. English was the language used most frequently in meetings and communication in English was the main focus of this research. Interesting uses and common functions of Xhosa and Afrikaans are also discussed. Additional information about the company studied was obtained from interviews, company documents and Webber's (1997) MBA thesis which looks closely at the company's partcipative processes. Data was analysed in keeping with the concerns and methods of interactional sociolinguistics, a field which focuses on interaction between individuals. Brown & Levinson (1987) and Scollon & Scollon' s (1995) models of politeness and face theory and Myers-Scotton's social functions of code-switching were also particularly useful. Other theories which were of value were Fairclough's (1989) notions of language and power and Giles (1975. 1981) and his colleagues in social psychology's speech accommodation theon A background to business terms and concepts is provided for readers from other disciplines. Organisational structures, management styles and corporate culture, including the philosophy of Ubuntu (community spirit) are discussed. These terms and concepts are used to evaluate the success of the company and the role played by communication in this success.
Queiroz, Luiz Antonio Pacheco de. "Água fria é no pote do Cariri cearense."

Full textCoronae, stephanai and diademata are the clearest feautures in Roman female portraiture and they emerge not only as jewels, but also as a way to convey information. Aim of this work is to demonstrate how these artifacts are substantial clues to understand roles and positions of the female part of Roman Imperial families, since they are connected to the title of Augusta and to the dynastic legitimacy, thanks to female role as mothers of emperors. A catalogue of portraits from statuary, glyptic and numismatic leads to a tipology of these objects and to their analysis regarding single persons, dynasties and backgrounds. The study goes from Livia to Aelia Ariadne.

Full textThis study examines the existing relationship between social identity and political systems in the principal cities of the southern Rhone valley, in particular A vignon and Arles, from the years 1120-1130 to the middle of the XlIIth century. Most of the analysis concentrates around four different complementary research orientations: the study of the documentary practicles, the observation to the protagonists of communal rise in the cities (starting from their strategies to assertion and their economic bases), the examination of the institutional profiles of the communes, and finally the development of the political languages, in their different variations (social, political, legal), as well as representation of the capacity, "propaganda" and political identity. All that was examined by multiplying the specialists in comparative literature points of view of other similar documentary landscapes, in particular the Italian communes
