Abstract:
This paper proposes a heuristic method for optimization of reactive power compensation. Firstly, two fuzzy sets of node voltage and cost savings are formed. The compensation location with the greatest compensation suitability is obtained by fuzzy reasoning. Considering the operation modes of several different loads, the mathematical model of reactive power compensation optimization is established, and fuzzy multi-objective optimization is adopted. The method solves the fixed and variable compensation capacity, and calculates the compensation capacity for each existing compensation position cycle until the change does not occur. The above process is repeated until the new compensation position is no longer saved, and finally all the compensation positions, capacity and total savings can be obtained. The example analysis shows the effectiveness and practicability of the method.

Abstract:
This paper establishes a hybrid power network equation with node voltage and branch current as state variables. The characteristic equation representing the stable boundary of the system is derived. Then the boundary conditions of static stability of the power system on the critical circle of voltage static stability are formed. Find the closest distance equation between the load point and the corresponding stable boundary through geometric analysis. The introduction of the distance equation avoids artificially setting the direction of load growth. The distance equation and boundary characteristic equation are added to the hybrid power network equations as additional equations for analyzing the minimum load boundary. The equations are solved by Newton's iterative algorithm. In order to avoid the Jacobian matrix singularity near the load boundary, the algorithm adopts the method of replacing the critical point in the Jacobian matrix to calculate. The simulation results show that the method is correct and effective.

Abstract:
This study aims to determine the proportion correct of mathematics subject matter and compare the reliability of essay tests that are scored with 3 different rubric models. The method used in this research is an experiment using design treatments by subjects, an experiment using one group (one group experiment) which is also an experimental group and a control group in different experimental periods. Schools that were sampled were 6 public and private junior high schools and students were sampled as many as 452 students. The research sample was determined by two-stage stratified random sampling. The objects in this study consisted of 22 essay questions in Mathematics for junior high school compiled from the same test specifications. Scoring uses 3 scoring rubrics models, namely scoring rubric Model 1 (0,1), Model 2 (0,1,2), and Model 3 (keywords). The results obtained from this study indicate the reliability of the mathematical essay test on the scoring rubric of model 1 is 0.6859, model 2 is 0.7025, and model 3 is 0.6986. Test reliability of the three scoring rubrics is high or reliable. Students' competence in completing mathematical essay questions is still low, which is under 50%. Only mathematical essay questions calculate volume at the cognitive level of knowledge and understanding above 70%. Student competencies in solving questions that measure reasoning is an average of 12.20%. In other words, the proportion correct of subject matter in two-dimentional figure and space less than 50%, this shows that students still do not understand the concept of the subject matter, especially the material of the central angular relationship, arc length, sector area, which can only be answered correctly by 17.58% of students.

Abstract:
With the extensive application of power electronics interfaced nonsynchronous energy sources (NESs) in modern power systems, the system stability especially the transient stability is prominently deteriorated, and it is crucial to find a comprehensive and reasonably simple solution. This paper proposes a direct method-based transient stability analysis (DMTSA) method which concludes the key steps as follows: (1) the system modeling of Lyapunov functions using mixed potential function theory and (2) the stability evaluation of critical energy estimation. A voltage source converter- (VSC-) based HVDC transmission system is simulated in a weak power grid to validate the proposed DMTSA method under various disturbances. The simulation results verify that the proposed method can effectively estimate the transient stability with significant simplicity and generality, which is practically useful to secure the operation and control for power electronics-dominated power systems.

Abstract:
Power flow study plays a fundamental role in the process of power system operation and planning. Of the several methods in commercial power flow package, the Newton-Raphson (NR) method is the most popular one. In this paper, we numerically study the convergence region of each power flow solution under the NR method. This study of convergence region provides insights of the complexity of the NR method in finding power flow solutions. Our numerical studies confirm that the convergence region of NR method has a fractal boundary and find that this fractal boundary of convergence regions persists under different loading conditions. In addition, the convergence regions of NR method for power flow equations with different nonlinear load models are also fractal. This fractal property highlights the importance of choosing initial guesses since a small variation of an initial guess near the convergence boundary leads to two different power flow solutions. One vital variation of Newton method popular in power industry is the fast decoupled power flow method whose convergence region is also numerically studied on an IEEE 14-bus test system which is of 22-dimensional in state space.

Abstract:
AbstractWe propose a criterion to regard a property of a theory (in first or second order logic) as virtuous: the property must have significant mathematical consequences for the theory (or its models). We then rehearse results of Ajtai, Marek, Magidor, H. Friedman and Solovay to argue that for second order logic, ‘categoricity’ has little virtue. For first order logic, categoricity is trivial; but ‘categoricity in power’ has enormous structural consequences for any of the theories satisfying it. The stability hierarchy extends this virtue to other complete theories. The interaction of model theory and traditional mathematics is examined by considering the views of such as Bourbaki, Hrushovski, Kazhdan, and Shelah to flesh out the argument that the main impact of formal methods on mathematics is using formal definability to obtain results in ‘mainstream’ mathematics. Moreover, these methods (e.g., the stability hierarchy) provide an organization for much mathematics which gives specific content to dreams of Bourbaki about the architecture of mathematics.

The determination of directional power density distribution of an electromagnetic wave from the electromagnetic field measurement can be expressed as an ill-posed inverse problem. We consider the resolution of this inverse problem via a maximum entropy regularization method. A finite-dimensional algorithm is derived from optimality conditions, and we prove its convergence. A variant of this algorithm is also studied. This second one leads to a solution which maximizes entropy in the probabilistic sense. Some numerical examples are given.

Abstract:
The generalized cosecant numbers denoted here by c?,k represent the coefficients of the power series expansion or generating function of the fundamental function x?= sin?x. In actual fact, these interesting numbers are polynomials in ? of degree k, whose coefficients are only dependent upon k. In this paper we show how they emerge in the calculation of trigonometric inverse power sums. After introducing the generalized cosecant numbers we present a novel and elegant integral approach for computing the Gardner-Fisher trigonometric inverse power sum, which is given by Sv,2(m) = (?/2m)2v ?m-1,k=1 cos-2v (k?/2m), where m and v are positive integers. This method not only confirms the solutions obtained earlier by an empirical method, but it is also much more expedient from a computational point of view. By comparing the formulas from both methods, we derive several new and interesting number-theoretical results involving symmetric polynomials over the set of quadratic powers up to (v-1)2 and the generalized cosecant numbers.

This paper presents a theoretical analysis and derives the amplifier output noise power spectral density result in a closed form when the input to the amplifier is a band limited Gaussian noise. From the computed power spectral density the NPR is evaluated by a simple subtraction. The method can be applied to any amplifier with known input-output characteristics. The method may be applied to analyze various other important characteristics of the nonlinear amplifier such as spectral regrowth that refers to the spreading of the signal bandwidth when a band limited signal is inputted to the nonlinear amplifier. The paper presents numerical results on the NPR as a function of the noise bandwidth, depth level of the notch, and the output power back-off obtained from the analysis presented in the paper.

Several numerical examples are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Abstract:
This paper shall explore the dynamics of power transition in full power shift of hydromechanical transmission (HMT) and focus on the ideal target displacement ratio. An arithmetic two-range HMT is taken as the research object. A mathematical model of power transition in full power shift is established, including the hydraulic transmission unit model and the brake torque model during the double brakes overlapping. Aiming at the constant output power of HMT in the shift process, a prediction model of the displacement ratio target value is established, and the prediction method is proposed. By combining theoretical analysis and experimental research, it proves that the power transition model can describe the power transition process. And the prediction method of the displacement ratio target value proposed in this paper can complete the power transition when the double brakes overlap. In the power shift process, the output power can be transmitted normally in full power. The power transition model and the prediction method of the displacement ratio target value can provide theoretical and engineering references for the full power shift of HMT.

Abstract:
This paper derives an explicit formula for a type of fractional power series, known as a Puiseux series, arising in a wide class of applied problems in the physical sciences and engineering. Detailed consideration is given to the gaps which occur in these series (lacunae); they are shown to be determined by a number-theoretic argument involving the greatest common divisor of a set of exponents appearing in the Newton polytope of the problem, and by two number-theoretic objects, called here Sylvester sets, which are complements of Frobenius sets. A key tool is Faà di Bruno’s formula for high derivatives, as implemented by Bell polynomials. Full account is taken of repeated roots, of arbitrary multiplicity, in the leading-order polynomial which determines a fractional-power expansion, namely the facet polynomial. For high multiplicity, the fractional powers are shown to have large denominators and contain irregularly spaced gaps. The orientation and methods of the paper are those of applications, but in a concluding section we draw attention to a more abstract approach, which is beyond the scope of the paper.

Abstract:
When a CDMA signal is passed through an RF transmitter, nonlinear elements cause spectral regrowth which result in reduction of spectral efficiency. CDMA signal has a pseudo noise nature; hence its mathematical treatment is too complex to analysis. In this paper, first it will be shown how to simplify the complex mathematics of CDMA signal. Then, a deterministic signal replaces the CDMA signal and the system response to both of them is calculated. In this paper, for the first time, ACPR is explicitly calculated for both the CDMA and deterministic signals. ACPR is calculated in terms of the nonlinear system coefficients and input power, and therefore, can be used in design objectives. In addition, it will be shown that if input power of the deterministic signal is multiplied by [Formula: see text] (i.e., correction factor), ACPR error of these kinds of signals in -55 dBc is less than 2.2% for the system nonlinearity orders up to 13. This correction factor is obtained by both theoretical and simulation methods.
