The reaction of NH4TcO4 with PPh3 in DMF solution in the presence of HCl produces mer-Tciii(PPh3)2Cl3(DMF)•2PPh3 (1). When the reaction is done in acidic DMA, the yellow product isolated was identified as NH2(CH3)2+DMAH+ [TcCl6]2−•PPh3O (2). The dimethylammonium cation was produced from the reaction of the solvent (DMA) with aqueous HCl. The reaction of NH4TcO4 with PPh3 in acidic acetone solution produces yellow (PPh3H)2[TcCl6] (≈15% yield) and some orange crystals (≈65% yield) identified by X-ray diffraction as [Ph3P-C(CH3)2-CH2-CO-CH3]+ [Tc(PPh3)Cl5]−. [PdCl2(PPh3)2] and the [NHEt3]+ salt of [B10H10]2- in refluxing ethanol yield the dipalladaundecaborane cluster compound [7,8-(PPh3)2-7,8-(μ-PPh2)-9,11-(OC2H5)2-nido-7,8-Pd2B9H8] (1). An all-atom single-crystal synchrotron X-ray diffraction study shows a significant difference to four structurally characterised platinum congeners reported in the literature for which revised formulation is now necessary. [PdCl2(PPh3)2] reacts with Se(SiMe3)2 to form a mixture of multinuclear Pd complexes, [Pd3Se2(SeSiMe3)2(PPh3)4] (1), [Pd5Se5(PPh3)5] (2) and [Pd8Se8(PPh3)8] (3). 1 can be used as starting material for the synthesis of further Pd clusters. For further study of the porcine hemostatic mechanism, we have prepared murine monoclonal antibodies, and F(ab')2 and Fab fragments, specific for porcine platelet membrane glycoproteins GP lb and GP Ilb/IIIa. To avoid production of antibodies to von Willebrand factor (vWF), mice were immunized with platelets obtained from pigs with severe von Willebrand,s disease. One monoclonal antibody (PP3-4C), of IgG1 subclass, caused 85% inhibition of Ristocetin-induced platelet binding of 125I-vWF (porcine) at ≥12 µg IgG/ml.
