Abstract:

Abstract:
This thesis investigates the prospects for an interpretivist account of practical reasons. The proposed account identifies practical reasons with sets of propositional attitudes from which certain actions follow, given the constraints of interpretable functioning. Following Davidson, these constraints are taken to be enumerated by formal decision theory and formal semantics. Thus the account of practical reasons is framed in terms of what rationally follows from agents' beliefs and desires. The hope is that an account of practical reasons of this kind can explain the existence of practical rea

The applying of the sense-appealing images in sermons would be able to remedy the problem that the Korean preachers have, as it could be a solution to using a method when preaching to the younger generation. Abstract:
Learning nursing is regarded as a challenging, complex and somewhat difficult process. It has long been established that students have difficulty in integrating theoretical knowledge and nursing practice. Most studies in the literature focus on the causes of the theory practice gap, students' difficulties in relating theory and practice and examining specific teaching and learning approaches that could be employed in order to bridge this gap. The aim of this phenomenological study was to gain an insight into what nursing students believe facilitates their learning and what helps them to develo

Abstract:
This is a dissertation about care. Based on over ten years of experience with Southeast Asia and sixteen months of ethnographic research for this project, I address the issue of caregiving primarily from the perspective of those providing care at home for elderly people in urban Northern Thailand and from the vantage point of national and international public health initiatives aimed at supporting such endeavors. In turn, I use the intimate experiences of caregivers to interrogate the politics of aging, long-term care, and national identity. What emerges is an understanding of caregiving diffe

Despite this fact there is an ongoing debate concerning what is taught in business schools and what is actually used in practice. In spite of this debate there has been little research done regarding how these strategy tools are used in practice. This study seeks to address this through the adoption of a strategy as practice perspective which helped to identify what is actually practiced by managers while engaging in strategizing activities. Managers use strategy to respond to comple

The aim of this study is to explore how individuals with an acquired facial disfigurement (FD), following a traumatic accident or illness, psychologically reconstruct themselves using a narrative analysis. Whilst previous studies on visible difference have employed both quantitative and qualitative based methodologies, there is only a handful of research in the psychological literature that specifically explores the subjective experience of people with facial cancer and facial trauma.
