Full textThe theory, design, optimisation and characterisation of distributed amplifiers in 0.7-µm InP DHBT technology, for 100-Gbit/s optical communication systems, are presented. We show how the appropriate implementation of the distributed amplifier concept in a bipolar transistors technology with high swing-speed product has enabled the realisation of an electro-optic modulator driver with 6.2- and 5.9-Vpp differential driving amplitude at 100 and 112 Gb/s, respectively, with a high signal quality. This circuit thus establishes the swing-speed product record at 660 Gb/s.V on wafer and at 575 Gb/s.V in a microwave module. In the frame of the European project POLYSYS, it has been co-packaged with a tunable laser and a modulator to realise a compact optoelectronic transmitter module, which has demonstrated performances advancing the state of the art of short reach 100-Gb/s optical communications

Full textHow do people get informed and are brought to pay attention to news and how do they go about consuming different types of news and media during their lives? With these questionsin mind we interviewed forty six individuals with various and diverse profiles so as to try tocompare their media practice itineraries. The first part focuses on socialization and media, particularly on what influences news consumption: social class, gender, family structure, and personal experience of schooling and reading. We also try to focus on the role of superior studies (field and duration) and the level of political awareness. In the second part we willfurther develop the various aspects of political sophistication, context of consumption(situation), and knowledge of technologies. One section is specifically dedicated to theconcept of "media information culture" in the individual process of appropriation of the news. This work also contributes to the methodological reflection regarding the study of media audiences, politics and use of information and communication technologies (ICT). The results invite to consider the level of education and social situation as primary factors explaining information and news consumption related behaviors

Full textThe research concerns the field of social work as an occuptaion. Our aim is to consider the multiple interactions that characterise social work pratice and to analyse the dynamics, differenciations and stability that shape this occupation. In opposition to an over-simplified, functionalist analysis of social work and to and evolutionary vision of occupational change, we prefer to adopt a systemic approach which takes account of the complexities involved. Historical analysis of the occupation clearly indicates the presence of a rationalisation of social work practices from the very beginning along with the survival of a vocational dimension in current occupational forms. A comprehensive analysis of the field-work obsevations of social work practice serve to confirm the rationality and logic of professional action. The specific position of the social worker within the occupation serves tondefine a system effect which determines a series of implicit objectives within professional practice. In broad terms, this thesis is based on an analysis of the relationship between social actors and a complex social system. It inplies a two-fold approach : an analysis of the internal logic of the field under study, considered as an organisational phenomena taken as a system of constraints
Joly, Cédrine. "Pratique(s) de marketing stratégique en contexte de financiarisation : étude du discours des directeurs marketing du CAC40." Thesis, Montpellier 1, 2010. http://www.theses.fr/2010MON10046/document.
Full textThis work deals with the consequences of financialisation on french corporations' marketing strategies. These groups participate to the global leadership comptetition and rely on stock exchange to finance their growth, therefore shareholder value maximisation has become a major strategic objective. At the same time, consumers are described as more and more difficult to understand with the traditionnal marketing tools. This trend calls for a rise in marketing efforts from the organisations toward their customers base.A discussion between the management literature based on shareholder value framework on one hand and the marketing orientation principles on the other hand, leads to identify potential discrepancies within their conceptuel fundations. Balancing client and shareholder orientation represents an issue that marketing professionnals have to face. It is important to understand how they do that in practice. This research question both issued from the empirical and academical field refers to the Grounded Theory. This approach has therefore been adopted in this research wich rely on qualitative methodology with a new perspective in marketing research : the "as practice" field. The discourse study of experts and half of the CAC40 corporations' Marketing Directors enlights the consequences of financialisation on strategic marketing practices

Full textWe propose, through the analysis of about twenty non directive interviews of pupils and teachers, to show in what the commitment in a mathematical voluntary practice, inside so called "mathematical groups", is a part of an identity process. The first part treats of social and historical questions. It allows to notice that the teaching of mathematics has always been confronted to a double challenge : the elite training and the democratization of science, in which the groups take place. The second part is based on sociology, didactic, psychoanalysis and "sociopsychoanalysis". It demonstrates in what learning mathematics depends on the global construction of the personnality by showing that learning requires an ego ideal strong enough to resist the super ago elements, such as selectivity and definite difficulties. A dominating social origine, which reinforces the ego ideal, makes the access to knowledge easier. The study of pupils' interviews allows to understand how the groups let them free to "play" with mathematics without any danger by suppressing marks. Therefore, this way of working stimulates an ego idal reinforcement, but doesn't create it, because you need a minimal level of self-confidence to commit yourself into a group. As for teachers, we can notice that some of them consider the group as a mythical and totally satisfying world. It helps to reestablish the professionel narcissism, but may prevent them from asking themselves questions and from listening to the pupils. In the end, this work makes general educational elements appear : on one side, mathematical superego position, especially for pupils coming from popular classes who don't have any place to elaborate a real thought, and on the other side, the fondamental teachers' anxiety to lose their pupils' love

Thesis, Aix-Marseille, 2017. http://www.theses.fr/2017AIXM0358.
Full textInformation and communication technologies (ICTs) are central to Senegalese public debates. Moreover, the leaders of this country view them as very advantageous to education. However, their introduction in high schools raises a lot of questions from both researchers and educators as regards their usage. This study is about digital practices of high school students Our aim is to understand the extent to which the use of ICTs can enable them to acquire knowledge. Understanding in this regard implies looking at the perceptions, knowledge and skills related to the use of computerized tools, but also the meanings of this usage. The use of ICTs by pupils is also of particular interest to researchers in the fields of humanities and social sciences, especially those in the sociology, cognitive sciences and education areas. Thus, in order to better define the subject, this study used a multidisciplinary theoretical approach and a plural methodology (questionnaires, direct observation and interviews) as well as specific tools (voice-recorder, notes and screenshots) to collect data during two field investigations that were conducted in Dakar secondary schools (from March to April 2013 and November to December 2015). The analysis revealed that these learner-users use digital technologies for learning purposes but also highlighted the "dark side" of their practices. On the basis of the data obtained, we also suggest ways in which ICTs can be optimally integrated in teaching and learning practices
