Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA) is a semi-quantitative evaluation executed to recognize, early within side the layout and definition level of a system, all potential hazards and hazardous events that can cause an accident, classify identified hazardous events according to their severity and identify the required hazard controls and their respective follow-up actions. It is a great tool for beginning to recognize the hazards of a system. In some cases, a PHA is all that is needed to analyse a simple system. Abstract Trains are public transportation whose operations prioritize passenger safety. There have been 701 train accidents, resulting in 343 deaths and environmental damage from 2007 to 2023. The braking, propulsion, and bogie systems that function for train movement contribute to accidents, such as derailments and collisions. Actions to minimize these risks are by conducting preliminary hazard analysis (PHA) and allocating safety integrity levels (SIL). The purpose of this study is to explore steps to minimize train accidents using the PHA method and SIL allocation. PHA is carried out throug

Abstract Land conversion causes a decrease in the occupation of paddy fields areas. Furthermore, the existing paddy fields that are mismanaged cause land degradation also. This study assesses the land quality index (LQI) in Jember Regency, East Java, Indonesia. The novelty of this research is that it combines the assessment of soil and land parameters (terrain, topography, climate, irrigation infrastructure, erosion, and flooding). Input data for this study consist of land cover, soil type, and slope maps. The procedure includes (1) spatial analysis to create the unit soil map area, (2) prepar

Risk assessment is one of the prerequisites for understanding its causes and possible consequences. This standard comprehensively describes the continuous activities that are necessary in managing risks and minimizing their possible adverse effects on the operation of the system under investigation. In this activity, it is necessary to first identify the existing risks, then analyze and evaluate the identified risks. In the analysis of existing risks, it is possible to use both

Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) is a simple, non-invasive, real-time diagnostic technique routinely used in human clinical practice to assess body composition and hydration status. BIA raw parameters, particularly the Phase Angle (PhA), are gaining attention as markers of congestive states in humans, as body electrical impedance can be affected by variations in body water content. This study aimed to assess whether changes in BIA raw parameters in dogs with myxomatous mitral valve disease (MMVD) could be linked to disease progression. Inconveniences of a conventional HAZOP study are its time-consuming character and high cost. The principal objective of this paper is to present a new methodology for hazard identification of a selected chemical production process. Model-based HAZOP study is a very robust tool for predicting a systems response to deviations from design or operation conditions. An approach based on the mathematical modelling of
